Fang Krios walked alongside her longtime friend Kazuya. They had known each other for quite a long time, and enjoyed each others company greatly. In fact, for as far back as she could remember, Kazuya had always been there for her, and now it was fair to say the two were in separable!

...Just Kidding.

In truth, she still wasn't sure how they had gotten to walking around downtown together. She had been trying to get back to the costume store to return her Maid outfit from the Festival, and had ran into him along the way back. A conversation had struck up between them, and before long Fang stopped paying attention to where they were headed. A lovely case of each thinking the other knew where they were going, to be sure. Now they found themselves among a series of abandoned looking warehouses, some looking more shady than abandoned. The vacant or barely used warehouses stretched towards the sky like over sized tombstones, casting long ghostly shadows across the ground. Fang eyed them will little more than passing interest at what they might have once been used for, but aside from that she mostly kept her attention to the boy next to her.

It was fair to say she was learning real quick that Kazuya could be quite the troll if he wanted.

Finally she stopped and looked around confused before finally turning to face the magician. "Oy, you know where we are? I have never seen this part of town before. It looks kinda...run down." Her accented Japanese echoed lightly against the seemingly empty area. She wasn't scared in the least bit, which with a place like Hyakuji perhaps she should have been. She just wanted to figure out if he was lost as well. They probably weren't in anything over their heads...

Kazuya

Unlike Krios, Kazuya’s reasons for being in the area were not as easily articulated. While she had to rent (or maybe she just bought, and regretted it that entire day), Kazuya’s butler uniform isn’t a costume, so much as it is his actual working uniform. The closest he could get to explaining why he bothered to stick next to her is boredom or amusement, if even that. Granted, he got most of the “Krios in a tiny skirt” jokes out of his system the day of the school festival, and just decided to follow with her.

Sadly, she seemed to have no better idea of where they were than him. “Yes Krios, because the guy who’s not even from this city knows exactly where we are.” Before he can vocalize his smartassery, he remembers her obvious foreign accent. Hell, as new as he is to the city, at least he’s lived in the country! “Well, best I figure it, we walked on the set of the warehouse district from a movie. You know, the ones where the hero shows up to save a screaming woman from muggers?” The worst part is that, no, Kazuya honestly didn’t make the connection between what he said and the company he is currently keeping.

"That's not cool Kazuya, don't call yourself a woman." Fang said cooly. Otherwise, she seemingly ignored the implications of his comment surprisingly. "Don't worry. I'll try to save you from the muggers. But don't expect me to wear any spandex. I know that will be rally disappointing to a pervert like ya." She still wouldn't let him live the fact that they had been a fetish cafe down. Even though it really wasn't his fault, and even though she could have protested it but was too busy skipping class. Some days she wondered why she even bothered going to school at all...

Up ahead at what was another seemingly empty warehouse, there were signs of life. A few men paced around the exterior of the building, clothed in odd uniforms, and wicked looking blades at their sides. "Maybe this really is a set from a movie..." Fang thought out loud. "Hey, better yet maybe we could ask them for directions outta here! I'm gettin' kinda hungry after all." But as the two would approach, the air would seem to take on an intense and heavy aura. The men started to look more like they were guarding the area than extras from a movie just standing around. But maybe that just meant they were really good at acting? Meh, either way she didn't care. If it was a movie they could edit her out or something.

Or maybe they would even offer her a part! ...yeah, no. Nevermind, that was a stupid idea.

Yet again, Kazuya is called a pervert. Oddly enough, by the same woman. Anyone else, and he’d probably get annoyed. With Krios, it’s the closest he’s ever gotten to a serious compliment. Although, before he even had time to GET insulted, Krios decides to throw in the horrible image of her in a spandex outfit, like something out of an early Tokusatsu movie.
“Spandex? Trust me, if I ever get the image of you dressed as a Sentai hero or magical girl, I’ll let you know. Now, if you wanted a CAPE, I could probably ma- wait, what are you...” Before he can continue his train of thought, Krios all but ran at the men. Before running out after her, he tries to get a good look at them. Well, as good a look as he CAN, at that distance.

What gets his attention first are the blades. Each of them is carrying one, and that’s just what he can see! Who knows what they could be concealing in those uniforms. And as much as he joked, and she possibly wished them to be mere actors, the lack of cameras serves only to confirm that, whatever they are up to, it’s nothing good.

After noting just how far ahead of him she was, Kazuya quickly half-ran towards her, keeping his hands in his pockets, with the steps for making a blade ready for Creation. In the event that they do turn hostile, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to keep at it unarmed, especially if those blades are real.

If it turns out that they really ARE just filming a movie, then who knows, maybe this can be Kazuya’s big break into showbiz.

"This is a rather severe predicament." Walpurgis said blandly.

Her eye went down to the ropes binding her. Hmm, her school uniform was going to get all wrinkled from this. Maybe she could iron it out later. It'd certainly take a while, though. Her powers couldn't speed that up, unfortunately.

If she hadn't heard of the cultists, she wouldn't have taken a chance and gotten captured. Oh well. They hadn't killed her yet, so there was still a possibility of escape. That said, she couldn't do that until the madmen were distracted. So, the witch quietly waited for her moment to come.

Fang slowed her pace a bit when she noticed she had left Kazuya behind. Mind as well stick together; maybe if the actors saw them together they wouldn't think they were some kind of suspicious people. But as she got nearer, they seemed more and more like the suspicious ones. Where were the cameras? If they weren't in a movie, why did they wear such odd clothes, they looked like they belonged in some dark ages setting. Ah well weird clothing or not, if they knew the way outta here Fang wouldn't care if they were wearing top-hats and g-strings.

Okay, yes she would. She'd have to sow her eyes shut and try not to vomit.

“Hey, hey!" A few of the patrolling guards turned sharply towards her, and the closest one's hand rested on his blade. “You blokes wouldn't happen to know where the quickest route out of here is, would ya?"

The first guard stepped forward and drew the blade just enough for it to show. “You shouldn't be here. How did you learn about this place?" He took a step towards her menacingly. “Never mind that. Kids like you should run along before you get hurt."

What the hell was his problem? She had just asked for directions. Fang, never one to take kindly to being threatened, glowered at the man with a white hot temper. “Oh yeah? I don't think you know who you're threatening." She cracked her knuckles in anticipation. “Let's play, nerd-boy. I'll learn ya real good." She seemed completely unconcerned with the fact that they were armed.

He stepped forward with a shark-like grin. Behind him, the four others began approaching as well. “Sure, we just got our Reaver Blades issued to us. Capturing a few more sacrifices will surely earn us more prestige." Not only did they target Fang, but they seemed to lump Kazuya in with her. A fight for survival was about to begin...!

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Heroes holding cell of Walpurgis...

Three figures approached the poor chained girl. Two wearing the same uniform every other grunt wore, but the third wore more ornate robes with gold trimmings, and runes inscribed along the sleeves. The grunts had found her snooping around the area and decided to capture her and let the robed woman decide the girl's fate. She had an air of confidence about her, as well as something completely fey about the way she moved. Her movements were graceful and unwasted.

She moved closer to Walpurgis and lifted her chin so she could stare into the other's eyes. “Do not struggle girl." Her voice was commanding and cold, though her hand felt very warm and pulsed with life. “Tell me, where does a child like you learn something as rare as chronomancy?" She dropped Walpurgis. “I guess it doesn't matter. Hers will be a powerful sacrificial offering indeed. Save her for last." The two grunts acknowledged the command as a third grunt arrived and bowed low.

“My Lady, there seems to be a situation outside..."

Kazuya

The moment Kazuya sees the first guy take a step, he realizes he has to act. Rather than make a knife like he originally planned, Kazuya creates an empty plastic water bottle, and tosses it at the guy nearest to Krios, that he gets a clear shot at.

Of course, a water bottle to the forehead wouldn’t do any actual damage, but the impact, as well as the noises resulting from it, would probably create a distraction enough for Krios to get the leading guy with a sucker punch. More importantly, it gives Kazuya enough time to Create a weapon without being noticed. Given their swords and movements, it’s unlikely they are amateurs with those weapons. Best thing to do would be to keep some distance. Given that sniping with a bow would draw too much attention, that would make the next best option…

From the distance he managed to keep between them, Kazuya rushes towards the guy who got a bottle to the head, with a staff, looking like a long metal pipe. While trying to capitalize on the surprise, Kazuya would make an overhead swipe the moment he gets within range, keeping a conscious attempt to stay out of sword range. “So Krios, did you find a way out?”

Well, this was an interesting turn of events. This woman categorized her ability as chronomancy. What an odd way to refer to her powers, but it meant that this possibly high-ranking official was a knowledgable one. She might have to be taken down first.

On the floor, with her witch hat hiding her face, Walpurgis gave the smallest of smiles as she continued to wait. She probably couldn't escape quite yet, but the commotion outside would give her a chance to. And once she broke loose, these cultists couldn't stop her from getting away, not this time.

That said, perhaps the high-ranking one had a chance to get out of the warehouse. As far as threats went, she didn't seem like much. But Walpurgis supposed that stopping the priestess would put a definitive end to the cult's activities and a chance of rebuilding.

First, though... She would let these intruders come. That would make her job a lot easier.

(Since Walpurgis has been NPC'D, I'm gonna pretend like she was never here >> << Flambe, PM me if you wanna arrange somethin'~)

“Yeah, let's get-" *Boink* The oncoming grunt was cut off by a water bottle bouncing off his fore head. He stopped moving forward, and seemed to have an expression that read: ‘…' His eyes fell to the harmless plastic at his feet. “What the he-AGH, DAMNIT!!!" He felt a metal bar come down across the back of his head, causing him to stumble and his vision to blur momentarily. Though this drew more attention to Kazuya, and a second grunt moved towards him, brandishing an ornate knife with a crimson blade. He awkwardly shifted the weapon in his hands, unsure of how to attack someone who out-ranged him. It was obvious these guys hadn't had much training with their weapons yet...

Meanwhile, Fang took the chance Kazuya's sudden rush granted her, and sucker punched the one in front of her for all she had in his face. She followed up with a left to his stomach, and finished with an uppercut to his neck, sending the confident man staggering back into the one who was now holding his head. She had gotten lucky with him, and probably wouldn't be so lucky again.

Still, she felt the need to taunt~ “See? Now whose the one getting hurt?"

“You! Well you will be soon anyways." The two other's facing her pulled out their weapons as well; similar blades to the first one. One lunged at her, his blade thrusting toward her stomach, the other backed his friend up by closing in and bringing his blade arcing diagonally across Fang's chest. The one facing Kazuya (who had up til now been unsure how to approach) finally decided to faint a charging stab, but at the last second pivoted on his foot and spun so momentum carried his blade in a full circle. Despite their lack of training, they were trying their best...

There are few things that can drive a man to action more than amusement. Fewer things are more amusing than the shouts of annoyance/pain a man makes when he gets beaned in the forehead. If he wasn’t worried about revealing his powers, Kazuya could probably spend the entire fight making half-filled bottles to throw. Unfortunately, with Krios and everyone else there, it would be a bit harder for be secretive about it. So sadly, just pipe/staff fighting. Granted, just based on their stances, Kazuya can figure out that they aren’t experienced with their swords. Hopefully, they aren’t experienced fighting at all. So when he saw their telegraphed charge, Kazuya did a short hop to the side, and then swung the “staff” towards his enemy’s leading leg, hoping to take him out of the fight as soon as possible.

The man fighting Kazuya wasn't expecting him to attack so soon and was caught as he was putting all his weight on his leg. Kazuya's pipe struck his knee with a stomach turning *CRACK!!* and the man crumpled to the floor while holding his knee close to his chest. "M-my knee! I think you broke it, you asshole!" Meanwhile, behind him the other two cultist tumbled over each other like a pair of bumbling Disney villains.

*shiiing!* *woosh!* Fang side stepped the charge to the right, completely moving out of the diagonal slash as well. Here eyes were wide and alert, looking for any opening she might utilize. Part of her wished Ada Wong had been around recently, those martial arts lessons would have been nice right about now...

As the lunging one moved past her, she brought her foot up and spartan kicked him right into his friend, sending them tumbling about as well. "Oy, oy! This is so sad I almost feel bad for you!"

"Then perhaps you would like to try someone more challenging?"

The voice called from a nearby doorway. The soft creaking of leather could be heard as the newcomer stepped past the defeated grunts. "M-my Lady! You *cough* *cough* Don't have to worry yourself with he-*cough* *cough*-er..." The man could barely speak with how much he was coughing.

The lady rolled her gleaming eyes. "Oh, I can see that. Let's see if you lot can make up for your disgraceful performance." Those that could exchanged fearful glances with each other. It seemed they knew what was about to happen, and really didn't want it to happen. One tried to beg for a second chance while another staggered to his feet to run away. "Oh you'll get your second chance. Sanguinem, et venite ad me!" Her words carried an echo that seemed to make all five of the grunts stop in their tracks and began to spasm. The lady held her arms out as if beckoning to a lover and vines of red fluid burst from the grunt's bodies to greet her out stretched hands. Once two considerably large orbs hovered above each hand, the grunts collapsed, white as a sheet of paper. "Is this the kind of fight you were looking for? Or will you be good children and come with me peacefully? I have such wonderful plans for the two of you..."

Fang could only stare in morbid fascination at the bodies and the crimson orbs that pulsed with a vibrant life. "She...she drained them dry...! Kazuya...Kazuya, I don't think we're on the set for a movie..."

"M-my knee! I think you broke it, you asshole!" “I’m the asshole? What were you going to do with that sword, TICKLE ME? You do-” Before he can finish his back-and-forth insult, he notices the fear in the eyes of his opponent. Far too much to be a result of mere pain. When he hears a woman’s voice behind him, quickly moves towards where he was, getting between Krios and the new arrival, keeping the pipe in his hand, and staying in a defensive stance. But rather than attack the two of them, as expected, she does something even he didn’t expect.

At the horrifying sight of her draining her own men of their blood, Kazuya does all he can to stop himself from shaking. When Krios, a woman who responded to being kidnapped and dropped into an alternate plane of existence by witches with annoyance, shows that even she’s shaken, Kazuya all but gulps his Adam’s Apple down his throat, before trying to force a poker face. “Y-you’re right Krios, this definitely isn’t a movie. Tell you what lady, how about you answer some questions I’ve got, and then we’ll go. For starters, what the HELL kind of magic was that, and what do you want us for?”

"Mmm?" She cooed softly and tilted her head to the side. She seemed somewhat impressed with Kazuya's bravery to stand between Fang and herself, and even demand answers out of her. If nothing else, she felt like she should at least oblige their curiosity. Somewhat. "Long ago, ambitious humans desired the power of demons, and consorted with the dark beings so many fear. Some knew what it was they were dealing with, others did not. These powerful beings that people began to call demons bestowed upon humanity many new ways to manipulate and perceive the world around them. One such talent was passed down to myself." The orbs of blood compressed and flowed over her arms, covering them in a red texture.

"That's some grade-A creepy shit, woman." Fang seemed to reign in some of her lost nerve, though she was still visibly shaken.

"My, my. Such hostility. She smiled pleasently, though her calm demeanor was definitely unsettling, especially with the blood coating her arms. "My plans for you two could be completely innocent, or maybe I wanted to take an apprentice under my wings. Alas, that is not the case. But it could have been! You two, I want to take on a little field trip. Last chance before I attack. Coming?"

As the woman says her plans, Kazuya looks around the area they’re in, to memorize the area for when HIS plan goes into action. So far, it seems like typical sterotypical villain crap. Really, the fact that demons apparently exist should make this sort of thing less likely to happen, but yet, here it is. Whatever she wants though, she apparently wants him and Krios for it. “Well, good to know you're barking mad. That makes things a bit easier. Even if you were serious about that apprenticeship, I’m afraid the 68th head of the Kuze Family is apprentice to nobody!”

The moment he shouts, he puts his plan into action, and reveals, for the first time in public, his magic. First, he instantly creates four walls of steel, around eight feet high, around her, in an attempt to bind her in place, leaving her with just enough room to move her arms easily, less he list creating something in the same place as something else. There’s no telling what could happen if he broke the exclusion principle, and now wouldn’t be the time to start. There’s also no ceiling, less he suffocate the woman. Finally, in case there’s other enemies in the way, he creates a massive smoke-screen surrounding the Krios, himself, and the box hopefully containing the lunatic.

As both actions took place in under a second, the moment the smoke appears, he quickly turns around, and runs away, grabbing Krios’s arm. “DON’T ASK QUESTIONS, JUST RUN!”

Fang wasn't too sure how exactly Kazuya did what he just did, but she was in no mind to question it. No stranger to people with powers, she knew how to just 'go along with it'. She turned tail and began to sprint her full 32mph sprinting speed, sufficiently scared out of her mind.

Of course, it wouldn't be that easy. "*sight* If I got a Yen for every time they ran..." With a sound similar to a sonic boom and a jet afterburner, all four walls were blown away, with the lady no where to be seen. Then, before they could get too far, she slammed down on the pavement in front of them, cracking it and sending out a shockwave with enough force to topple Fang off her feet. "I'm Elyra, I'll be your substitute teacher for today. Alternate mundo, aperi!" Her voice shook with an arcane quaking that began to distort the world around them. "Can't have you running off again...Praeligo! Fang and Kazuya would feel as if painful cords bound them to one another and kept them from moving from this spot.

As the magic in the air began to reach its crescendo, Elyra raised her hands in the air and sacrificed the rest of the blood that coated her arms. A deafening whine filled the air and made Elyra hold her ears. "Damn it, it wasn't enough!?" She looked at Kazuya with rage filled eyes. "You miserable reprobate! If it wasn't for your stunt, I could have transported all three of us. But now it seems you're going alone." She was having to shout over the loud whine of the teleportation ritual. "Have fun~!" With an explosive force, the ritual completed itself, knocking Elyra away hard enough to send her through the wall of one of the nearby warehouses.

And then everything they recognized vanished.

Fang found herself laying on the ground next to some odd statue. The surrounding area was completely over grown as if it hadn't been touched in centuries. She spotted Kazuya not too far away from her, and ran to his body. She stumbled a bit, her balance thrown way out off. Apparently teleporting between realities with an incomplete ritual had side effects. At least they weren't something worse.

"Kazuya! Kazuya, wake up! Are you okay?" She had to resist the urge to heave her guts up from the swimming world around her.
