Holly smiled sweetly at her twin, tilting her head; eyes glittering slightly as she prepares to plead with her.
It was a fake expression, one the girl mastered at a young age to help get her family members to do things for her.
Their mother knew, and has always been able to resist the full effect of her adorable charm, while she never bothered with it on their grandparents-
the two were constantly loving and supportive so all she had to do was even mention that she liked something and they got it for her.
Her sister, unlike them, was too naive to see just how much she was manipulating her to get what she wanted.

"
Nee, onee-chan, will you make me a pretty bouquet?"

She asked in an almost sickening sweet voice, before adding- for more effect-

"
One just as pretty as you are!"

Description or Image of Character Appearance:

Occupation: Waitress at The Flower Shop, a small flower shop not too far from school that is also a cafe after school hours and around lunch on weekends.
[Please keep in mind that her hair is NOT purple, it is dark brown, and her eyes are a red-pink.]

  • Laura Sinclair.
  • Female.
  • Sixteen.
  • Five foot three inches.
  • One-hundred-and-ten pounds.

One of the smaller children present came over to Laura, a big smile on her face.
She was always happy when her mother brought her to the pretty flower shop-
she was one of the few who were regulars there, so she always got an extra flower.
If she wanted one, that is.
But today, she wanted to play with Laura instead!
Going over to her, she hm'd as she leaned over to peer at what the older girl was doodling on a piece of paper, then frowned.
She'd seen those before on almost every other time the lady had been drawing, or writing, or anything that had to do with paper and a pen, and was beginning to wonder...

"Onee-chan?"

She asked in a curious tone, voice- as with most little girls her age- sounding absolutely and utterly adorable.

"How come you like to draw those funny symbols all over the place?"

Equipment You Have:
  • Cell phone
  • Bag of Holding
  • Seeds
  • Flowers
  • Flower basket
Powers/Abilities:

  • Nonviolence; She is a complete pacifist and any who are close to her will feel more at peace, too- happier, even, depending on the person[or creature, as the case may sometimes be].

  • True Sight; She can see wards and sigils placed that are invisible to most humans or any who are not of true magical descent. She can also see through magically created glamours, but those only. [So if someone is using technology to hide themselves or alter their appearance, she can NOT see through it, but if it is magically induced then she can.]

  • Spellweaving; Along with her [True Sight] ability came the ability to write in the mysterious runes that she sees with it and such without having to consciously learn how. Thus far, she cannot use them for more than basic spellwork- she cannot do anything with magic that she could not do herself and she expends the same energy on the spell as she would doing said action. [IE If she wants to move from point A to point B via teleportation, she can only do so if she could get there by normal travel methods[walking, biking, riding a bus, etc] and when she does teleport, she expends the same energy on the teleportation as she does as if she were to use said other methods to get there!]

Janine smiled sweetly down at her favorite daughter, crouching slightly so that she could be more at eye level with her.
Once there, she reached up and ruffled the girl's hair affectionately, causing her to wrinkle her nose adorably and giggle.

"Oh, Laura,"

She coos quietly to her.

"You're so sweet and helpful- what would we ever do without you?"

Personality Description:
Laura was raised in gentility, believing that kindness and warmth is the way to go in a simple life such as hers. With a high affection and closeness for her identical twin and, really, everyone in her family, it's no surprise that she plans on going into the family business- running the cafe. Her grandparents have already left it to her mother in their will and, her mother in turn left it to her in hers. Holly will get it should she die.

Despite being of a gentle, loving nature, Laura is, if there is a need, highly protective and affectionate. Rarely outspoken, she has been known to stand up if bullies arise or if her family's business is being threatened by bad customers, though if Holly gets to it first she will not intervene. Holly is, of course, the more outspoken of the pair.

Generosity is also in her personality, though she isn't known for being overly so. If someone comes into the cafe and looks like they've seen better days, she will likely give them a flower and a free parfait of their choice- or, if someone appears overly nervous, she will approach them gently with a flower or other peace offering and attempt to help them relax.

From across the room, little Holly watched their mother shower Laura with praise and affection, a small frown on her face.
But as she watched, a thought occurred to her-
really, truly occurred to her-
And that small frown turned into a hateful scowl.

"Why..."

She whispered, small hands clenching into fists at her sides.

"Why do you... love her more than me?"

Personal History:
This girl is oddly normal, save for her hair and eyes. Her parents were nothing special; dad was in and out of her mother's life before she was born, and her mother had to move back in with her parents then. It was never a harsh, trying situation, as the elderly people were more than happy to have their only daughter back in the home assisting them.

It wasn't long after that, of course, that Laura and her twin sister Holly were born. Laura was born first, but only by a few seconds, and once Holly was born it was very clear that they were identical. As they grew older, small things became more apparent as differences but overall the two were close and could, if they truly wished, copy each other perfectly. But as they grew older, Holly became more and more jealous of her twin; Laura was the one that both their mother and their grandparents doted on, due to her special abilities with foods and flowers, Holly left with none for some reason or another. Holly hides this well, though it isn't like Laura makes it hard with how trusting she is of her twin.
Nowadays, the nearly grown girls attend high school at a local public school and spend their afternoons working in their grandparents' cafe, though on weekends Laura spends the morning time selling flowers in the park or on the street outside the shop. Flowers, fresh vegetables she grew herself, just about anything along those lines- she sells it. Her mother is so proud though, of course, Holly is jealous.
Her grandparents emigrated to Japan from Great Britain some time ago and stayed, though they insisted that their grandchildren have English names.

[This character's history will be updated with recent events at the end as they occur, as well as when she uncovers more and more about herself, her parents, and the life that was hidden from her before she was even a twinkle in her mother's eye.]

Mashed Potatoes?
What potatoes? All I've got is pudding, which I am promptly going to dig through to find the proof, of course. It's in there somewhere, I'm sure of it!
