Residency Request: Yoshima Room 440 Schedule: Homeroom Teacher: Mare 1) Phys Ed 2) Supernatural Studies 3) History Personality Description: Robert is a strange case. Having been raised in 11th century France, he still has many aspects of this time despite having lived five years in current-day France already. He is quite prudish, getting embarrassed and blushing even if he simply sees people kissing. He is still a bit uncomfortable around the short skirts that the school uniforms have, but he no longer gets flustered by them. His Japanese is fluent and normal, as he only learned it recently, but his French is extremely archaic. Outside of this, Robert is a very disillusioned and lonely. Though once a devout Christian, the brutality of the First Crusade left him wondering if there was such a thing as a God. He has no memory of his time spent dead either - there is no God in his mind. Though he admits this could just as easily be a side-effect of the magic used to revive him, he still shuns religion (mainly Christianity) greatly. He also feels very misunderstood - few have witnessed slaughter as bloody and brutal as the First Crusade, and it has also left him traumatized. Sometimes he will get flashbacks much like Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, leaving him shaken and frightened. Robert is a fairly friendly young man otherwise - just don't mention Christianity or the Crusade around him. As long as you steer clear of that subject, he's someone with a quick wit and a sharp tongue, often joking around with people. However, he leaves plenty of targets on himself for people to make fun of too, most prominent of all his embarrassment at "skimpy clothing". Though it is easy to socialize with him, making an actual friend out of him is harder. He is fairly slow to trust, and has trouble expressing his feelings. Personal History: Year 1099, Jerusalem. Arrows and fire. Swords and screaming. Blood and death. Death. Death everywhere. The Massacre of Jerusalem, the pinnacle of brutality in the First Crusade. Robert du Savary was barely old enough to shave when he witnessed the death and devastation left behind by the Christian forces. Formerly a devout Christian, the bloodshed during the early crusades had shaken his beliefs. This slaughter sundered them entirely. He survived the Crusades, something not many could claim. His life would not last much longer, though. Traumatized and disgusted by the war, after he returned to France, food no longer had taste to him, and he had no thirst. One day, he simply curled up in a corner, and life left him. Five years ago, Countryside of France. Breath rushed into a chest long-stilled, filling lungs empty for centuries. Eyes that had not seen light since medieval days fluttered open. Numbed voices reached deadened ears. He lived. He didn't know how, but he lived. Suddenly pain streaked through him. The numb voices grew frantic. Darkness overtook him again. Next time he opened his eyes, everything was clear. Sound, smell, touch, vision, taste. He was chained to a chair. In front of him sat several strangers he did not recognize. They spoke to him, asked him who he was. He answered. They asked more. He answered. He asked what was happening. They answered. He had been an illegal experiment by several french mages, who had been uncovered by a different group, allied with the Tower of Fang, who had ended the experiment and arrested the guilty party for processing and exile. The rogue mages had resurrected him from bits and pieces of his salvaged corpse. More than 900 years had passed since his death. Usually, the Tower of Fang would have put him back to sleep immediately, but these people wanted to give him a chance. They asked him a question. Was he sentient? Was he more than a puppet? Was he an actual living being, capable of thought, and not just an extension of his master? Yes, he was. They asked him another question. Life? Or death? That stunned him. Did he want to leave this world again, this world he had abandoned by his own will, or did he want to live once more, in a world better than the one he left, more advanced, less savage. Silence reigned. "Life." Because of this response, Robert was taken back to the Tower of Fang, his strange behavior and powers explained as a side-effect of experiments performed on him. Over the next four years, Robert was prepared for modern society by the Tower of Fang. He spent most of his time studying and changing his standards from 11th century Christian ones to modern-day French ones, all the while trying to keep his true nature from the Tower with the help of his saviors. However, he disliked the religious edge many things in France had, and the fact he constantly had to keep his secrets. After these four years, he spent a year on the Academia Beluosus, but finally grew sick of France - it reminded him too much of the past. With permission from the Tower of Fang, who had accepted him as a student of sorts, he moved to Hyakuji, Japan. He joined the very famous and very diverse High School here. Finally, he was going to know what it felt like to be a normal teenager. Well, as far as anything on Hyakuji is normal, anyway. Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon Edited by Victarion, Jul 19 2014, 05:57 PM.

But how can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real?

Unholy Power - Robert's undead nature has boosted his physical powers greatly, allowing him to perform physical feats a regular, powerless human would be incapable of. However, this is a double edged sword. Robert can only keep up his full power for a few minutes. Though he cannot die from exhaustion, he can fall unconscious or even enter a coma because of it. Robert can, if Unholy Power is "activated" (i.e. he uses his full strength), hurl large pieces of furniture such as couches and tables with devastating effects. becomes Unholy Power - Robert's undead nature has boosted his physical powers greatly, allowing him to perform physical feats a regular, powerless human would be incapable of. Once, Robert was only capable of using this increased strength for a few minutes, but this clause has been lessened. Thought it does tire Robert out faster, it no longer puts the same drain on him as before. Though he cannot die from exhaustion, he can fall unconscious or even enter a coma because of it. Robert can, if Unholy Power is "activated" (i.e. he uses his full strength), hurl large pieces of furniture such as couches and tables with devastating effects. Given time, he can even rip a street sign straight out of the concrete and use it as an effective weapon to boot. |
