Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: John Patrick Ramsey Gender: Male Age: Sixteen (16) Height: Six Feet Two Inches (6’2”) Weight: 165 Lbs. Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Student/Clerk at Electronics Store in Mall Grade Level: 3rd Year Powers/ Abilities: Electrical Affinity: John Ramsey has the ability to control and manipulate electricity along the surface of his body. Controlling the flow of electricity over his skin is easy because his body has built up a way to deal with the electricity coursing over him, and he’s learned to channel the electricity through his finger tips through both other conductors and projectiles. The charging and controlling can last anywhere between 2 and 4 posts as long as the electricity is conducted along the skin. The projectiles are small and easily visible to…well, any eye, but offer a slight jolt none the less to anyone who is caught in the line of fire. The projectiles usually last 1-2 posts before fizzing out. A big weakness to John’s ability is alcohol. If enough alcohol is present in John’s body, his body refuses to conduct electricity and is rendered useless until either the next day, or until the alcohol has reasonably been removed from his body. John has now finally learned how to use his powers in combat. John has, under the instruction of various electricity manipulators (mostly Ryo), John has learned to form Electricity into things like hand-shaped blades and long bolts shot from his hands. Of course, his unusual weakness still applies in all situations no matter what, but just the very fact that John learned to use his abilities in combat shows maturation and better understanding. Equipment You Have: Standard School Supplies Mu Skyboard: Can’t be used on extremely cloudy days or in storms, but can be used on sunny days to float through the city! Portal Gun: Can only make one set of portals before breaking down, but it’s a nifty little tool for escapes or what have you. M-Phone (x1) : A special megaphone-like device that summons the Hyakuji Cheer Squad after using a code word. (In this case, the word is OUENDAN!) Residency Request: Fudo House Schedule: Homeroom: Hiro 1st: Supernatural Studies 2nd: History LUNCH 3rd: Martial Arts Personality Description: John Ramsey isn’t what you would call a shy guy by any stretch of the imagination. He makes his name and face known wherever he goes without trying to be too annoying, and always tries to maintain a healthy relationship with his friends. Upon first encounter, most will notice that he’s a people person and loves to ask questions whenever he can. That is his philosophy in action: ‘Question Everything.’ However, while he does love to talk about current issues or events, he tends to not bring these subjects up in fear that it would incite negative feelings and bring about unnecessary arguments. But while John is very outgoing and extroverted, he tends to be somewhat indecisive and nervous when it comes to big decisions, such as decisions about his family or his career choice. The future is something that John is very weary about, and he tries to avoid the topic a lot while thinking about it only in isolation. When it comes to decisions about his family, however, he tends to deal with that mostly in privacy and rarely ever brings up the subject of his father or sister. Personal History: John Patrick Ramsey, born on a cold dark night in October, marked himself as the first oldest son and the second oldest of the Ramsey kids at the time. The oldest of the kids, Melissa, was born two years before John while the youngest, Eric, was born one year after him. The three children and their parents lived in a house in upstate New York for a good portion of their childhood before their mother divorced their father citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’ When the two parents split up, only John was sent to live with his father while Melissa and Eric were living with their mother in the next town over. After the divorce, the two parents still remained in contact with each other, but the father became more isolated and developed a rather heavy addiction to alcohol. John was unfortunate enough to witness his relapse into alcohol and eventually watched him spiral because of it. Because of his addiction, John’s father was removed from his office at his law firm and was out of a job. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings followed soon after, and the relationship with his wife faded into non-existence. John’s father tried his hardest to stay with AA and get his life back on track, but one night it just turned into an impossibility. The spiral finished when John father took his own life that night, and John was forced to move in with his mother and two siblings. The new home didn’t last very long though, when John had discovered his ability. John’s ability was inadvertently discovered when he accidentally destroyed his older sister’s cell phone, frying it until it burst into flames. John, at the age of fourteen, was moved out of his house and to Japan to learn to control his ability. John had lived in Kyoto for a year, hired a tutor to teach him Japanese before he eventually moved to Hyakuji. Things became a lot simpler after the first year, and getting a job at an electronics store helped him to learn to control his abilities. John spent time studying his abilities and it’s weaknesses before he enrolled and eventually was accepted into the high school. John’s life and times in the school, no matter how brief it may have been, was anything but normal. John has made good friends and perused girls just like any other teenage boy, but the experiences have been almost other-worldly. As soon as John seemed to arrive in the school, he’s confronted with a falling island nation known as Mu and even got himself and another student involved with taking down a known but elusive criminal. The biggest mishap of John’s personal life was that he lost his job, but with interviews going the way they have been, John was able to find a job as a desk man at a psychologist’s office. With a new job, a better view of society and the best friends any person could ask for, the future looks bright for John. RP Sample: John sat at the window of his temporary room back in New York, looking out from the second level into the horizon. John was merely watching the sun go down as Lou Bega’s ‘Mambo Number 5’ played quietly on his stereo. John’s hands fidgeted with the small white envelope in his hands, which neatly had his name written on it. John remembered never reading the letter from his father, and once he took his eyes off the horizon, he decided to finally break the sticky seal on the back and pull the piece of paper inside out. The scripted letter pulled him in even before he began to read what was written. - Johnny, Things haven’t been going so well, as you could imagine. I spoke with your mother over the phone yesterday, and she still sounds as lovely as the day I’d first met her. That made the pain so much worse, you know? It feels like the one thing I’ve been trying to hold onto didn’t even want me to hold onto it, and just forced itself away from me. Tonight’s the night Johnny, and before I part, I want to tell you something that I’ve never told you before. It’s a small piece of advice, but I feel it’s effective in life. Question Everything. And with those words, I end this little confessional. Give my warmest regards to everyone, and remember. Your loving father, I- And by the end of the letter, the breathing became harder and harder. The paper seemed to naturally crumple in his hands before he forced the paper back into the envelope. Leaving his chair and turning to the bag sitting on his bed, he shoved the letter into a side pocket and sealed it up. That was enough pain for one day, he figured, it was time to slide back into reality and face what needed to be faced. Mashed Potatoes? The Proof is in the Pudding.
