So anyways, here's my replacement for Mira. ------- Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Elise “Elly” Ellington Gender: Female Age: 15 Height: 5’ 10’’ Weight: 139 Lbs. Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Student Tennis Player Grade Level: 10th Powers/ Abilities: Rocket Racket- The Rocket Racket is an odd weapon she can conjure. In terms of actual damage output, it's no more damaging that a typical sledgehammer. That being said, the racket has a strange effect: it has extremely strong knockback effect. This effect, when combined with her already impressive strength and Tennis skills, roughly grants the total distance somebody on her level with 'true' super strength could accomplish, making the real danger of this weapon being knocked into a wall or something. Oddly, this weapon has a strange secondary power. If Elise is angry enough to turn violent, sometimes this racket and her will started to gain a fiery red aura. In that case, the knockback effect becomes absolutely insane, and maxes out at sending them flying halfway across town instead. Despite this, the damage done in this state is actually far less than what would normally happen, leaving the target at worst unconscious with bruises that oddly enough, heal within hours, though the target in this case tends to land in places that might result in either pain or more embaressment. For example, a male hit with this often might get launched from the school grounds, and land in the woman's hotspring at Hyakuji Shrine, conscious enough to see a dozen angry, super powered girls about to beat the tar out of him. This secondary effect only activates when it would only be for comedic value, and is essentially how this strange weapon interacts with Elly's tsundere-ness. The racket looks similar to a normal tennis racket, save it appears as if it were made entirely of gold. Tennis Virtuosa- Elise is an incredibly talented Tennis player, with a lot of practice behind her. She’s already won notable tournaments as well. Her forte tends to be control of the ball, making it land where she wants in the court. Naturally, this translates to her ability to use her rocket racket. That being said, that doesn't instantly make her an absolute master at using it. It’s a difficult weapon to use in the first place, not to mention that Tennis and combat are rather different. Receptive Physiology- Elise’s physiology lacks typical improvement limits and tends to improve faster with less effort. In trope turns, Elise has a physiology that is naturally predisposed to developing ‘Charles Atlas Superpowers’, particularly in regards to physical endurance. Naturally, being as athletic as she is, she’s already developed it some, though none of her attributes are truly superhuman yet. At this point, she can lift 780 lbs, reach 21 MPH sprinting, and has endurance to complete the Berlin Marathoner (26 miles and 385 yards), and place in the top 5%, if she were so inclined, even if just for her, the distance was 39 miles. That being said, while this power has the capability to allow her to access superhuman levels of physical ability, this amounts to a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ super power. The only way she’ll ever be stronger than the guy with super speed is to have a crapton more experience and training than them, for example. It's also worth noting that while her endurance is nothing to scoff at, this ability doesn't confer anything to her ability to take hits at the present. Mostly because her body hasn't had any reason to become 'tougher' in that regard. The downside of this ability is that she has to eat a lot. Thankfully, a part of this ability gives her the ability to be extremely efficient with caloric consumption, but she'll be rather hungry after a fight, which is why she keeps special pills with an absurdly high content with her, so she doesn't have to eat quite as much (it would be embarrassing for a girl like her to be seen eating that much). The pills themselves don't metabolize any quicker than an actual meal would, so they're only useful to control the hunger drawback of her powers. Equipment You Have: The usual stuff Athletic Gear Energy Pills (high caloric content, but only metabolizes as fast as a meal). Residency Request: Yuki Schedule: Homeroom Teacher: Cerium 1) Phys Ed 2) Supernatural Studies 3) Advanced Demonology Personality Description: Elly tries to come across as cultured (she specifically learned this sort of stuff for the express reason of coming across as cultured), a gifted athlete (which she is), a great student (not so much out of raw intelligence so much as drive), and pretty much good at everything. That's just what she tries to come across as, however. It’s not so much that she thinks she’s perfect as much as the fact that she’s completely obsessed with being perfect. Try to tell her ‘there’s no such thing as perfect’, and she’ll tell you to leave her alone. This naturally plays into her being extremely competitive. Being on edge like this leaves her with a hair-trigger temper too, though she only turns violent in extreme cases. Failing or losing, save in contests or tasks where she’s completely inexperienced, there’s a major experience gap, mostly up to chance, didn’t put a ton of stock in it (which is why she won’t throw a fit 9 times out of 10), or the like is going to very much upset her. If she cared much at all about the contest, and feels like she’s lacking, she’ll work and train at it until she either makes herself sick, resolves the issue, or forgets the loss enough to where it’s not a huge splinter in her fragile self-confidence. She’s especially sensitive when it comes to athletics, her forte, even more so tennis. She used to enjoy it, but now it’s just her best ‘contest’ to win at. That being said, one of the reasons why she is actually good at many things is because she tends to have very strong drive. Elly tends to be what others might call a ‘tsundere’ of the ‘tsun tsun’ variety. If she falls in love with somebody, male or female, she’ll tend to act hostile towards them (even more than usual), and have trouble admitting it, and you know the drill. Rather than boss him and her around though, she’ll try to outclass them at everything (unless there's an achievement or contest at stake and she partnered with them). Especially things they believe they’re good at. That being said, it’s unlikely she’ll outclass them unless she was already better at it, or if they really overestimate their own skill. Coming from a family that traveled a lot, she doesn’t have anything she’d call a national heritage. While this means she can speak a number of different languages, she doesn’t have much in way of traditions, and tends to be a bit invidious of those who do. Personal History: Elise was born to Emily and Nicholas Ellington. Nicholas was a traveling business man, who frequently moved between countries in order to fulfill his client’s needs. Elise changed schools a lot, limiting her opportunities to make friends, as she’d be sent to another city, or even country a few years afterwards. Being the only permanent social contacts she had, this lead to her trying to develop a stronger relationship with her parents. While Elly and her mother got along wonderfully, Nicholas was a cold and distant man. Naturally, this meant Elise was always trying to make him love her. She tried acting up to try to get him to ‘reform’ her at first, but that didn’t work. Usually, he found a way to shirk off that duty to Emily. When she was 8, however, she found that she was particularly talented at Tennis. The school she was attending at the time had a tennis team. When she won a small local tournament, Nicholas paid a bit more attention to her for a time, congratulating her for her efforts. Sadly, this would quickly fade. That being said, she found out that the more she achieved, the more attention and affection that Nicholas would pay to her, even if it was only in ‘spurts’. This led her to a bit of an ‘achievement addiction’. She started working harder at not only developing her talent at tennis, but working harder on her academics, and other things too. She also tried a few other things, like appearing cultured, and the like. Unfortunately, as she achieved more, those spurts became shorter and shorter as her father became used to his daughter doing well. At that time, however, she was starting to hit her teenage years and thus becoming a bit more independent minded. That wouldn’t stop her from trying to overachieve, as at this point, dedicating herself to perfection and achievement for years had turned it from a mere bid for affection from her father, to a central part of her personality. At some point in her development, she learned she had superpowers when her coaches pointed out that her physical abilities were developing far faster than they should, not to mention the day when she accidently conjured a magical tennis racket. Seeing as she had a chance to develop those powers further, and possibly achieve things that she might have never before thought she could, she managed to convince her family to allow her to attend Hyakuji. Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon. Edited by Tzauri, Jun 1 2013, 04:30 PM.
