It was a dark and stormy night. Raindrops crashed against the windows of the ruined classroom they were in. That would be the first thing that anyone would notice, given how dark it was. The second would be how... decayed and musty the air felt, as if the room was left untouched for innumerable decades. The third would probably the be the lack of aches and pains that would be usually associated with a long and hard fall from a high height. After all, all of them fell into a deep chasm before passing out for some reason. Were they just gently placed there in the room? What kind of malevolent force would suck them into this place but have the decency to leave them relatively unharmed upon "landing"? The fourth was that there were others in here... others who were with them at the time of the accident, but not all of them. Only four of them - Selene, Saito, Seth and Nanoha - were together in the ruined classroom. Once they got their bearings together, there were other things that would be noticed. The floor was more or less intact, but it wasn't the same floor as that of their original classroom. There were various broken floorboards and holes that were there because of age and decay as opposed to someone violently vandalizing it. The tables were smaller, as if they were meant for younger, elementary school students, and the window designs were more antiquated compared to the more modern windows at Hyakuji. However, the windows seemed to be sealed shut as if they were nothing but transparent decorations on the wall that allowed them to see outside. Nothing could break them - not even their powers (which were now thankfully active again). All they could see outside was an endless row of trees and even more darkness. The door was probably the only thing in the room that wasn't held in place by some kind of force, but opening it only revealed that the hallways were just as dark and ruined as everything else. There were three things of note inside the room though, if anyone managed to get a at least a dim light working. The blackboard had a small note on the corner saying "Cle___ Du_y: Sum__ __hashi, __y 8, 1_72", there was a large cabinet whose contents couldn't be discerned without approaching it, and there was a flyer on the corner near the door. "Cor blimey..." With a groan, Selene sat up after regaining consciousness... last she remembered was an earthquake, and falling into a big hole when the classroom around them collapsed and then everything went black. Of course, remembering that she had fell into a hole, the first thing the corporate heiress did was to look around to check if she was still in one piece - and surprisingly not only did she turn out physically intact, but hardly suffered so much as a bruise nor did she feel any aches or pains that should've come with such a rough landing. "Where are we?" the English heiress wondered as she stood up, inspecting her surroundings. "We're not in Hyakuji High anymore, are we?" Selene remarked, somewhat of a rhetoric, as she took stock of the classroom that she found herself in - the place looked dilapidated rather than ruined, unlike what you'd normally expect from an earthquake, and the furnishing looked antiquated compared to what was found in Hyakuji High classrooms. And last but not least, the size of the tables and chairs looked like they were meant for someone of a smaller stature... elementary students? The corporate heiress tried to glance out of one of the windows, as raindrops from a furious downpour lashed against the glass, while the darkness of the night made it impossible to make out anything more than an endless row of trees amidst the darkness. "Where are we?" the corporate heiress wondered as she searched for her phone, bringing up Google Maps to check their current whereabouts via GPS. Looking around at the others, the pumpkin-haired girl asked, "Is everyone alright?" |

Stirring back to consciousness, Seth Ryouga gave a low growl as he slowly opened his eyes, struggling against the lethargy that had somehow somewhat took over him just moments... hours... how long ago...? A bit slow on the uptake, his mind still seemingly blank even after a good few seconds of waking up, but the gears in his brain started turning as he glanced around the... classroom...? "...What... where...?" He muttered under his breath, a sense of urgency and panic rising ever so slowly, apparent in his voice as he looked around the completely unrecognizable place. Dark, dank, old and musty, not to mention old-fashioned, not that he could gather much considering his current state of mind. I mean... it took a bit but, what the hell... one moment they were at the school, and then there's an earthquake and then the floor split and they all fell in... and then they're here- "Selene?" He jumped slightly at the voice coming from behind him, turning around only to find the corporate heiress apparently coming out from her moment of unconsciousness as well. "W-where the hell... what happened...?" Silly question isn't it, why do you think she would have the answer? "...Hey- you two, wake up!" Forgive that he didn't ask for their names or actually forgot their names, but that doesn't matter when he's panicking over their well-being, scrambling over to the other two students in the room besides himself and Selene. |

Nanoha woke up from the pits of a nightmarish unconsciousness into a physical one. Slowly, gathering herself up, the first thing she noticed was how dark the room they were in. She had to squint hard several times before she could make out the feature of the room. It was distressingly dilapidated, quite unlike the clean and well maintained classroom she last remembered they were all in before they… Remembering that they have plummeted into a deep dark hole before this with some certainty, Nanoha quickly got herself up on her feet, surprised that they survived the fall somehow and ended up wherever they are now. Looking around, she saw that she wasn’t alone in this predicament. “I-I’m alright.” Nanoha replied curtly to Seth, looking around and taking her surrounding some more which wasn’t easy considering how little light there was around them. Noticing that Raising Heart was responding to her linker core and vice versa, Nanoha engaged the Device’s staff form Sealing Mode, and hold it aloft above her and making it emit a bright light to lit up the room, shedding more clearly of their morbid surroundings. “Where are we?” Nanoha repeated the same question the other two have asked. |

Of all the places that Saito had woken up dazed and confused in over the last couple of years, this one was easily the most eerie of the lot. A dusty and decrepit old classroom was a strange enough place in its own right, but to be in one after what had just happened earlier? There had to be some pretty bad mojo at work, and he wasn't having a bar of it. "Well, judging by all the desks and stuff, it's probably a school or something. Well, it's either that or hell," the boy with the bright red armband cracked as he started climbing to his feet somewhat unsteadily, wishing more than anything he'd been wearing his trusty sneakers instead of those damned dress shoes. How was a guy supposed to move in those things, anyway? Granted, there was one small mercy in having taken Del off the back of his school blazer as they fell, it meant that Saito had something to hold onto as he stood up. That floor with all its rotted planks and gaping holes wasn't exactly the most trustworthy surface to stand on, and it wouldn't do to bust a leg when they had no idea what was going on. "So, besides this idiot, anyone got any ideas on where we're goin'?" |

Selene's attempts to try and find their current location using Google Maps would prove futile - there was no connection to the internet from where they were. In fact, none of their communication devices had any signal at all, as if they were completely cut off from civilization. Nanoha's attempt to bring some light into their current situation did help though - the light revealed that the cabinet was filled with, of all things... a ridiculous amount of rotting, human hair. The flyer on the wall was now also readable thanks to the light.
The last part of the flyer was completely written over in blood, rendering the original writing underneath completely unreadable. But at least the top caption of the flyer gave a name to this place and where they were, if their surrounding school equipment didn't make it all the more obvious. Saito did have a good question to their predicament. If they bothered to look outside the room, the right path led to a large, gaping hole between this floor and the stairs... and horridly enough, that same dark, foreboding endless pit could be seen, despite there being stairs that led downstairs. Trying to cross it would be dangerous without at least a makeshift path, and anyone without a death wish would know better than to try jumping into said hole to see what lay beneath. Nanoha could risk trying to fly over it but... what if her magic failed her in mid flight? On the other hand, the path leading left led deeper into the second floor classrooms. Maybe they held more clues as to where they were, and possibly how to get out. Edited by Pikachu_Fragger, Feb 17 2013, 09:58 AM.

Okay... okay, just... just keep kalm- I mean, calm... Things like this happen every time here in Hyakuji, right? Weird things... crazy things... falling through a chasm into some weird dimensional world separated from the real world... ...Right, so not ENTIRELY normal even for Hyakuji's standard, but... it's fine... it's fine... They'll get out of this... Maybe...? I don't even know... Keep calm and don't die too soon. Well he's gonna die soon I suppose. "Alright... alright, alright... come now, figure out the clues... deduce something..." Seth muttered repeatedly under his breath, pacing back and forth and around in a circle, attempting to cool his head trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Clearly something happened, what are the chances of this being related to that ritual they just did before the earthquake...? I mean, is there any other explanation? Did anyone screw up their part of the ritual? What if he was wrong and it's actually something or someone else's doing? ...What about the others? And as though on cue he slipped out the piece of paper he got from the ripped paper doll earlier... Don't lose this, and you will never be parted... ... Stowing the piece of paper back into his pocket and making sure it stays there, he darted straight towards the door, sliding it open and went out of the classroom. He stood there momentarily, glancing left and right before making the obvious choice of walking down the left path of the halfway without even caring to consult his action with the others. |

"This is weird..." Selene remarked, feeling confused and slightly irritated as the app failed to initialize - there was no internet signal, not even a mobile phone signal; which was what confused the corporate heiress, considering that her phone had access to Frostfire Industries' satellite network that was used by British intelligence services, it would take some unbelievably high level of technology - or something supernatural - to jam her phone's signals. "It's a school alright," the corporate heiress replied as Saito commented on the group's current whereabouts, their surroundings now more easily discernible thanks to Nanoha providing some illumination. "And from the looks of it, either this place has been abandoned for a long time, or we're in another dimension altogether," the pumpkin-haired girl added with regards to the swordsman's remarks on them being in hell, before glancing around, and promptly recoiling at the contents of the cabinet - a mass of rotting, human hair. "Cor blimey..." Selene gasped as she read what was written on the flyer, but taking note especially of the last part that was written in blood, the contents clearly appearing as if it were the work of a psychopath. "No idea what's down there, but I'm sure it's not safe..." the pumpkin-haired girl remarked as she exited the classroom to check out the path to the right, staring down into the hole. "Let's see how far down this goes," the corporate heiress mused as she picked up a small chunk of rubble from the floor before casting it down the hole into the darkness below, trying to discern the depth from the sounds made by the stone's descent. "I think left would be a more sensible choice, no?" the corporate heiress asked, clearly not intending to risk the black pit unless she absolutely had to. Edited by Lawman, Feb 18 2013, 11:26 AM.

Nanoha swallowed hard, wishing she hadn’t brought to light in detail something that shouldn’t be seen. The rotting hair that filled most of the cabinet space was unnerving to put it lightly. She dare not inspecting it any closer, just eyeing them from where she was standing was more than enough. "So, besides this idiot, anyone got any ideas on where we're goin'?" Asks Saito's talking... sword? “Anywhere but this room for starters.” Nanoha replied almost immediately. Maybe the rest of this… place where they are won’t be as bad as this room she hoped. Following the others out of the room and into the adjoining corridor, the place doesn’t seem all that much better. In fact, it could be worse, judging by the large gaping hole in the floor to their right. “Hey wait for us.” Nanoha called out to Selene. “Come on… er… what’s your name again? We should stick together.” Nanoha asked Saito. While she could try and go fly over the hole to get to the other side, Nanoha doesn’t see it as necessary for now, especially when the Seth and Selene were already set on one path in this dilapidated school building and it would be wise to stick together to make sense of their current predicament. Welp, this situation just seemed to get better and better. If the decrepit old classroom and weird shit outside the window wasn't enough to set everyone on edge, that locker filled with locks and that creepy note were certain to get the party started. Just thinking about how they had gotten there or why they were there was making a certain swordsman's skin crawl, but there was no way in hell he was gonna show it! "Yeah, I guess it makes sense to stick together, it's always splittin' up that gets people killed in horror movies and stuff," Saito replied with a shrug to the question that everyone seemed to be wondering about, before turning to Nanoha with a smile on his dial and a hand extended in greeting. "It's Saito, Saito Hiraga. And this here's my buddy, Del. Nice to meet you, Miss...?" |

Maybe Seth should have calmed down enough to not just leave ahead of his comrades without a word. He wasn't that far away from them, but if worse comes to worst, being in the general vicinity of the other students would be safer for everyone else involved. As to Selene's experiment, she would find that the thrown stone produced no sound even after ten seconds, thirty, and eventually an entire minute of falling. The left path had one classroom along the way, but the door seemed to be plastered in place like a decoration, so getting inside was futile. This classroom did however have the sign "Class 2-B" above the door, and if ordering was to be believed, they came out of Class 2-A, and were walking further towards the other classrooms. Indeed, the next classroom next to the stairs leading up (which was blocked off with a pile of desks at the moment) was labeled Class 2-C, and it had a disturbing streak of blood across its windows as if someone sprayed it across. This one was open, and a flyer next to its door read:
The rest of the note was soaked in blood, rendering it illegible. There was a large hole in the hallway that prevented any of them from simply crossing it, and the only way through it was to enter 2-C and exit the door on the other side. The interior of the classroom was darker than the others so far, almost as if a dark mist obscured their vision more than usual. It was also just as dilapidated, with ruined tables and chairs strewn across the floor. It was hard to tell, but there was a large mass of something that was crumpled in the corner of the classroom near the blackboard, one whose contents could not be discerned unless approached closely. At the same time, near the entrance of the classroom door was a crumpled note. It looked like it was freshly crushed for some reason, and any one of them with an inclination towards the supernatural would find something weird about it... |

I know... I know it's... bad, to just... go ahead and leave everyone behind, but... Look, he can't help it alright?! Not when there's only like... four out of ten people here he knows are safe... for now! I mean, what about the others? Where are they and what's going on here? What even is this place...? And where's Kinsley...? Paying no heed to the others taking the same route behind him he continued on ahead, stopping for a moment in an attempt to open the door to the next classroom... to no avail, before moving on. The blood streaks on the window of Class 2-C disturbed him a slight bit, sending chills down his spine as he ignored the open path into said classroom... until he turned his head and saw the giant hole on the floor just in time to save himself from falling again. ...Dammit, he has to go through this classroom...? Honestly something tells him that he really doesn't want to go through it... But what other choice do they have? Not even bothering to pay any note to the flyer next to the door, he hesitantly stepped into the classroom. The near darkness inside the room stopped him in his track, and it took a while before he was confident enough to take baby steps around the classroom, glancing around with his measly vision. Old chairs and broken desks scattered everywhere, there were little chance to walk around without at least kicking or bumping into something. Seth decided to stick close to the wall, at the very least having something to guide him around the dark room. Until he reached a corner at the front of the classroom, did he realize he was close to something a bit off place. A crumpled mass of... whatever it is... ... He couldn't help but lightly poking and nudging it with his feet out of curiosity. Probably not such a good idea here... [result]5&5,1d6,0,5&1d6[/result] |

"This sure goes down deep..." the corporate heiress remarked as she heard no sound made by the stone after a good ten seconds - eventually a full minute would pass and still nothing. "Or the laws that govern this realm are different from the ones in ours... but regardless, Saito-kun's right, best that we stick together as a group," Selene continued, glancing towards the other girl in their group with a nod as the swordsman introduced himself to the girl after giving his genre savvy piece of advice. "And I am Frostfire. Selene Frostfire... I wished we could've gotten acquainted under a more pleasant situation though," not forgetting her manners even in their current crappy situation the corporate heiress finished her self-introduction to Nanoha with a curtsy. "Anyways, we need to keep moving. I'm worried about what Seth-kun might've run into," the corporate heiress remarked as she followed the path taken by Seth, pausing only briefly to glance back at Saito and Nanoha to ensure the other two were following, before arriving at another point where the way ahead was blocked save for only one route through a class 2-C, although the corporate heiress hesitated briefly at the sight of the blood splattered windows - whatever this place was, it appeared as if it had been the site of a massacre. "Seth-kun, are you there?" the English heiress asked. As Selene approached the door however, she soon noticed a flyer posted next to the door frame. "'Becoming close to the darkness is one way of understanding this wretched place. However, try not to get too close to it that you can't get out of it.... for there are some truths that are best left unknown. The curses of the dead have more power than one can fathom, so do not --' look at all that blood; I can barely make out the rest..." the corporate heiress remarked after reading the contents of the flyer out to the others, frowning slightly after reading the note. While magic and spiritualism tend to be two different fields of study, the corporate heiress was already getting the feeling that the group had been spirited away into another dimension, although unlike the astral plane, elemental worlds, divine realms, demonic realms and other alternate planes of existence that were interconnected to one another via a set of gates and portals, this one would most likely be an enclosed space, not linked to the rest of the greater cosmos. There was a way in, but could there be a way out? "Wait... there's another..." Selene continued as she spotted a crumpled note lying on the floor near the entrance, although unlike the other messages they'd come across so far this one actually appeared recent. Hoping to find more clues as to where they are and what their current situation is, the corporate heiress carefully opened up the note to see what might be written on it... |

“Nanoha Go.” Nanoha replied. “Just call me Nanoha, everybody does.” The building was starting to become unnerving to behold the more they explore beyond the classroom they were in earlier, with the terrible condition of the classroom now quite obviously extends to the whole school building. There was even another deep pit in the floor that blocked their way along the corridor and the only way it to travel any further was to inevitably get into the adjoining classroom and hope to get around it. Inside classroom 2-C was definitely worse than 2-A, and though they skipped 2-B, it might have been that the lower the grade, the lower in dilapidated condition they were in probably. Here, the current light setting from Raising Heart seems to be inadequate in the darker and somehow misty room and it was hard to even see anything in front of her much less the whole classroom itself. Raising the staff higher above her head, she increased its brightness to bring more light and detail to the room they were in, and maybe help the other two see clearly whatever it is they have found… |

"Well, normally I'd invite the two of you out to lunch, but it seems that I've already got other plans. My apologies, ladies," Saito said with a grin as he followed the girls out into the hallway and over to the next classroom on their little trip, pausing to read the macabre little message attached next to its door. The message wasn't all that helpful when it came to cheering them up, but the blood was certainly a nice touch if whoever had set up this little charade was going for that cheap horror-house aesthetic. "Curses of the dead, eh? What if you're already kinda a zombie?" Jokes aside, though, this place was starting to raise the hairs on the swordsman's spine up on edge with all of the strange stuff going on. It was beginning to mount up enough that he pulled Del out of the scabbard on his back and over his shoulder, grasping the blade tightly with his left hand, the runes that ran across the skin below his knuckles emitting a dim white glow....which he immediately held out in front of Selene, trying to illuminate the piece of paper she was now holding. He couldn't explain why, but it just seemed strange. Well, stranger. |
