Hyakuji 2.0 Template![]() ♠Born Liar♠
♠Career Criminal♠ Description or Image of Character Appearance: In all honesty the good doctor's above average height kind of hangs a shadow of doubt about his supposed ethnicity to any who first lays eyes on him. However, A few things about him are indisputable. Stemming from his height Gus has the thin but muscled build characteristic of a swimmer or runner with long and graceful legs. His trademark green hair ends just above the base of his neck and is mostly left to it's own unkempt devices until it's time to be cut. Behind a pair of square designer glasses his sharp eyes matches his hair perfectly in shade and intensity. Following his cover story and personal preferences Gus is rarely seen wearing anything that isn't professional or at the very least crisp and clean to perfection.
♠Medical Murderer♠ Occupation: Powers/ Abilities: Food For Thought The source of "Yori's" supposedly natural genius is in fact the result of a particularly useful ability of his. As a shortcut to being taught or memorizing knowledge he can simply instantly learn any information from any written or published literature by ingesting them. As much as this sounds like hell on his digestive tract it is well worth the advantages in conjunction with his other powers. Being a rather strange form of psychometry once the target information hits his stomach the first step in the transfer of knowledge occurs. Gus' stomach acid is actually stronger then a normal persons, rivaling battery acid in terms of corrosion, and can easily eat through anything that makes it's way down his throat. Once the media has been fully dissolved the knowledge appears in his thoughts like an epiphany ready to be used to it's full potential. Seeing as Gus' stomach is only so large how much knowledge he can take in at a time is relative to how much he can pack into his gut. After years of practice in a five hour period (i.e. one thread) his limit is three hardbacks, five paperback, or seven magazines. Like mixing alcohol Gus doesn't believe in mixing media types because it upsets his stomach, but when the occasion calls for it he can eat up to three books or magazines of any publishing type. Unfortunately, being driven by digestion the knowledge he takes in dissipates at the end of each standard twenty four hour period culminating in a rather ironic and undignified physical fart to match the mental one. Adoptive Muscle Memory The second of Gus' abilities and arguably the most used. To put it plainly he is capable of perfectly mimicking any physical skill he has seen a picture or video of. Meaning if he were to see a video of a champion athlete in action he could follow their movements down to the slightest detail. The only real restrictions come from the realm of the superhuman, just because he is able to mimic the technique of a exceptional person Gus wouldn't get the same results if they were much stronger then him or under the influence of special powers. Used in conjunction with his abnormal eating habits he can perfectly execute any action he then knows how to do as perfectly as the author of the information can. Knowledge Projection A skill that very few outside of his family even knows about. Using physical contact of any kind Gus can temporary copy and transfer any memories or knowledge he holds to another person. For the most part without his mimicry powers anyone given this information cannot use it effectively, but can be very insightful when they need a clear picture of what has been going on with him or an instant lesson in a skill. However, the memories are only temporary and slip out of the recipient's mind within a short time (i.e. Five posts) Equipment You Have: Para G.I. Being an avid supporter of almost all charities he personally devotes a sizable chunk of his considerable wealth to several causes and organizations every chance he gets. Being motivated by sympathy for his fellow man caused Yori take up his noble profession and he's somewhat of a bleeding heart when it comes to others suffering. He's even gone as far as performing more then a few surgeries without payment from the patient. When not pulling double shifts at his hospital the doctor can be found hiking in the Hyakuji Forest, checking out new exhibits in the Historical Museum, or dining at the Subarashii Restaurant. Truly in a relatively short time Dr. Kita Yori has made himself a much welcomed and loved resident of Hyakuji. Unfortunately, the good doctor isn't real. He's one of many well rehearsed persona created by a medically inclined mafioso by the name of Augustus Smeraldo. Not being a stranger to deception it was fairly easy for him to create an identity to fit his purposes. For the most part Gus and Yori share various interests including piano and fast foreign cars for obvious entertainment reasons, but the creator varies greatly on a few points. The first and surely the most important is Gus' seeming lack of natural affection or general like of anyone in recent memory. In the past the only people he had ever professed to love was his two little brothers, but as the years went by their petty antics and childish attitudes brought love down to just like and finally to outright hatred. The other person to come even close to this is the aloof and yet still respected Nicholas Regolo, the Don of the mafia family Gus is happy to call his own. When asked to murder his own brothers he jumped at the opportunity to rid himself of those losers and finally take his rightful spot as underboss back in Italy. Another subtle but still worth mentioning detail is the fact that Gus has no formal medical training from a accredited institution or otherwise. From a young age his particular skill set bought his ticket to a better life stitching up bullet wounds at age ten and worked his way up from there. By age thirteen he was the personal "persuader" of anyone the Regolo family considered enemies and of course had plenty of less then happy people to practice on. Now that he's gotten older Gus literally laughs at the Hippocratic Oath and it's "to abstain from doing harm" section and is more then happy to use his knowledge and sharp instruments to do some serious harm. For every poor wretch who's life was saved under the knife of Dr. Kita Yori another two died screaming in agonizing pain under the care of Gus. Now, just to make things clear Semi sadistic tendencies aside Gus has a somewhat warped sense of honor and fair play that he uses to govern his questionable conduct at times. For example, when given a choice he has never gone out of his way to apply his trade on random victims and Don has never ordered any unscheduled surgery on women and children so far. A bridge Gus never hopes to cross. That being said his loyalty to the Don is such that he would do almost anything he barely hinted at without question out of utter respect and devotion to the man he considers a surrogate father of sorts. Also as a strange side effect of living in Hyakuji around so many other people with powers for the first time in his life Gus has a real hard time thinking about how things back in Italy will be when his assignment is completed. Thankfully, he has no shortage of stuff to keep his mind off such things Besides the previously mentioned hobbies he shares with his persona Gus loves to read books much more then eat them. With his abilities he could literally learn everything in a decent novel in less than an hour down to the word count and typos, but where would the fun in that be. Considering himself a movie aficionado of sorts when he wants to get away from the guise of the good doctor Gus takes full advantage of the Panfocus' many screens in the mall based theater. Posing as a real professional doctor has also reconsider his previous one pack a day cigarette addiction and has slimmed down a simple pack a week now, but in true mob boss fashion giving up the expensive cigars is proving to be harder. On a side note over the course of his year pretending to be a genius Gus has had to rely on more then his ten odd years of impromptu operations. To make sure he's not caught off guard by whatever may be on his agenda at the hospital he adds two advanced medical textbooks to his everyday breakfast along with his morning coffee. Having sent up a good system with the local medical supply store he has a fresh supply of books delivered to his home at the beginning of every week. To eliminate suspicion the reason Gus gives for the constant supply is that he sends them to scholars in other places who can't afford the books themselves. Another good lie that gives better publicity to "Dr. Kita." Personal History: Being a native of Verona, Italy Augustus Smeraldo was born to a father whose face and name he can no longer recall and a loving women he had just learned to call Mama at age two when she died birthing his two brothers, Julius and Nero. Looking back on it Gus has to admit his father must have had disproportional dreams of grandeur, going as far to name his son's after Roman emperors, and unsurprisingly abandoning them before his wife was barely in the ground. To this day Gus didn't know if him and his brothers just didn't have any extended family or if they just didn't want to care for three young children, but together they were placed in an overcrowded orphanage "for their best interest." Adjusting to the place that was going be the backdrop for their early days was easy enough as toddlers with adult eyes kept on them, but proved a bit problematic when they reached ages six and four, respectively. Being part of an "all or nothing" deal made the boys difficult to place in a home just looking for maybe one boy instead of three, so they came to accept that nobody was gonna adopt them. The brothers each found their own form of coping with this revelation with Gus hitting the books, Jules finding joy in vandalism, and Nero moonlighting as a petty theft. Despite their brother's objections the twins kept up their mischief under the guise of innocent children as they continued to stack up years in the orphanage. It was this period of character building that the boys each found they possessed a special skill. Gus initially discovered his primary power after a group of bullies force feed him pages of his favorite book and made him vow to never be bullied again. Jules and Nero each found their teleportation and invisibility abilities ,respectively during their own crimes. Much to their brother's frustration the twins took full advantage of their gifts and stepped up their criminal game until it became obvious who was causing all this trouble. Things continued along this path of slaps on the wrists and stern talks with police until the twins tried to steal a briefcase from a man they assumed was drunk and things suddenly got very serious. The Smeraldo Brothers were on their way back from seeing a movie at ages ten for Gus and eight for the twins when they passed a well dressed if not scruffy looking man laying seemingly unconscious in the doorway of a closed clinic. The briefcase the man clinched in his arms intrigued Jules and Nero enough to try to pry it from his arms as Gus yelled for them to stop. Much to their surprise the man's eyes snapped opened and after smacking the boys away from him pulled a pistol on them as he got up. Gus was the first to notice a trickle of blood that was trailing away from the now violently shaking man to a splatter against the clinic door. Taking the first step towards proving themselves useless to their brother Jules and Nero quickly used their abilities to escape leaving Gus all alone against the gunman, but not before snatching the briefcase the man had briefly put down. As if expecting the other boy to disappear into thin air as well the man grabbed Gus in an iron grip around his wrist as he started asking questions: Who he was, where did his brothers go with his briefcase, and who had sent him. After answering "Augustus, don't know, and nobody" to the questions Gus was dragged behind as the gunman kicked the door to the clinic open, tracking blood through the doorway shuffling inside. With a wobbly aim the man pointed his pistol at the nearly in tears Gus as he confirmed there was no reason to keep the boy alive without getting the briefcase. Closing his eyes Gus was expecting to take his final breath any moment after the man cocked the hammer of his pistol, but instead was shocked when he heard a huge thud. Snapping his eyes open the boy was overjoyed to see the gunman had collapsed due to what by the look of the puddle next to him was blood loss. It was only then that Jules and Nero decided to make themselves known and return to their brother's side with the briefcase in tow. After both of them got an appropriate punch in the face from Gus they tied the gunman up and was about leave him to his fate when a car came screeching to a halt outside the door and out came three more well dressed gunman. The boys were under gun point again before they had a chance to run as the men checked on their apparent friend. After hearing that the wounded man was close to death Gus took this moment to save their lives and spoke up saying he could save him if they let the brothers all go after. As you expect they gave the boy a look of skepticism and a good smack to keep him quiet, but gathering enough strength to say a few words the dying man told them to give the kid a try. Thinking fast Gus ran to the clinic's main doctor's office and tossed his bookshelf looking for anything that could help. Coming across an EMT manual thankfully in paperback he immediately started tearing it to shreds and choking down the dry pages. Leaving behind only the tattered spine the boy again ran off to find the supply room for what he would need to pull off an impromptu small surgery. It was about this time that the paper deep in his gut fully dissolved and the knowledge of several years training came flooding into the ten year old's brain casting aside all doubt he could pull this off. You can imagine the look on the faces of the gunmen as the kid returned with a crash cart and ordered them to clear off the receptionist's desk and place the wounded man on it. Moving quickly and to the surprise of the men Gus diagnosed that the wound was a through and through bullet hole and while it didn't hit any organs the bullet had nicked an artery causing the massive bleeding. With the skill of a man three times his age the boy applied all the local anesthesia he could get his hands before preforming the surgery stopping the internal bleeding and suturing the wounds closed. True to their word and stunned beyond belief the men were about to let the boys leave when another car pulled along side the other in front of the clinic. Fearing the worst the boys remained quiet as an older gentleman flanked by two massive bodyguards rushed into the clinic, barely noticed the now bowing gunmen, and rushed to the side of the now sleeping man Gus had saved. With a shaky voice the older man asked who had saved the life of his now revealed son and was surprised to say the least his men pointed at the now slightly relieved Gus. Beckoning the boy over the older man towered over him but craned down to look him in the eye when he asked if really was the one to do the surgery. With a resounding "yes" coming from the kid the man let out a loud laugh before patting the boy on his shoulder and asking Gus the most most important question of his young life: "How would you like a job kid?" In hindsight years later Gus would still say yes a million times over to the offer of the man he came to know as Nicholas Regolo, but would've made the one exception not to ask for Jules and Nero to join him. A decade later this blunder would never become more apparent then after his brothers stole an ancient katana the boss had sent them to retrieve from a buyer in Hong Kong of all places. Regolo had given the two of them the simple mission of taking a payment of a few million dollars to purchase the sword he hoped would be a perfect addition to his museum quality collection of artifacts, but things went south very quickly after the meet. Killing the buyer and the fellow mafia men sent to watch their backs the twins made away with the blade and the cash. Word quickly got back to the Don of their treachery who immediate got a hold of their big brother for answers. Gus had done very well in the relatively short ten years since the Don had adopted Jules, Nero, and himself, proving to be a very dedicated mafioso he rose through the ranks until he was made a Capo just prior to this incident. Swearing in a signed blood oath to Nicholas Regolo in person he vowed to personally bring back the heads of his two brothers, the sword, and whatever money was left over from the theft. It was under this pretense of vengeance that Gus devoted a small fortune of his own reserves to find out information that Jules and Nero had settled in a region of Japan known as Hyakuji, a haven where their powers could let them blend in with the rather "unique" characteristic abilities of the residents. Armed with a good cover story, false documents, and an untraceable pistol Augustus Smeraldo boarded a private plane leaving Italy and landed on a friendly Yakuzu airstrip as Dr. Kita Yori very eager to become an only child as soon as possible.
