Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Lenny Barrons Gender: Male Age: 16 Height: 5’11” Weight: 145 Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Occupation: Student, Hunter, Forester, Cryptozoologist Grade Level: 2nd Powers/ Abilities: Bio-Artisanry: Lenny has the power to reduce any dead matter into a goop made out of its nutrients and cells. Dead matter in this case means dead animal tissue (for this reason Len includes the ability to trigger aneurysms in any of his haemonculi so he can harvest them before their short lifespan ends). After he has reduced matter to this state he can re-sculpt it like clay, easily forming muscles, bones and skin. Like any sculpture, these beings require time and focus to create and Len is only to make simple worms with mouths of razor teeth (Harvesters) without detailed diagrams and time. These shaped creature lie dormant until Lenny either takes control of one of their senses or ascends into hive mind. When Lenny constructs these creatures he usually doesn’t place some major organ systems and most of his haemonculi die in a few hours due to starvation and the more complex ones can live a few days Dairu’s Technique of Rejuvenative Artifice: Lenny has learned to utilize the inherent mysticism in living beings due to his research of Dairu’s Golem. While Lenny’s Bio-artisantry is like shaping a statue this technique is like pouring into a mold. Essentially Lenny can heal and regenerate parts of his haemonculi’s bodies by applying biomass to their wounds and having that biomass shape itself into what is missing. This allows Lenny to heal and restore his haemonculi as long as they haven’t suffered any damage that sutures their wounds closed. This ability also has the logistic advantage of allowing Lenny to essentially reset the biological timers on his haemonculi by using the amount of biomass needed to create them to rejuvenate their bodies, using up far less time than it would take to make entirely new haemonculi and often taking only three minutes. In combat terms it essentially means he moves a large amount of biomass onto a wounded haemonculi and its body will regenerate. Regeneration of a large body part ( i.e. an arm or a leg) will take two posts while smaller wounds can be dealt with in shorter amounts of time or even within one post if the wound is small enough, although Lenny needs to be in physical contact with the creature for the entirety of the time it takes the wound to heal, causing him to only do this with larger haemonculi that need to be preserved. Sense Shift: Lenny can switch any of his five senses with that of his haemonculi. He usually does this with the intention of improving his own senses but in the process he loses the ability to feel that sensation himself. Ascension: Lenny can ascend for a period of about ten minutes. This period can be adjusted either way through conscious thought before ascension to a max of around 12 minutes. When he does this his mind essentially evolves into a far more complex form than what it currently is and becomes entirely alien when compared to the human mind. Upon ascension all heamonculi become active and have full use of all their sense. In this state Lenny can now be considered to have become a hive mind in which Lenny and all his heamonculi share one single mind that manipulates each individual being as if it were a limb on a human. This mind receives senses of each individual being controlled. Each entity that is part of this hive mind is no stronger than it usually would be and they are generally no more coordinated than they usually would be due to Lenny's inexperience with this state. This state can prove to be dangerous for a few reasons. First, this ascension to a Hive State increases his mental capacities so much that he cannot actually comprehend human speech or communication in any way. This complexity also makes it so Lenny can only recall one central command in this state with only three limiters allowed (don’t kill the target, don’t kill civilians, remain unseen). In addition, Hive state Lenny will place the preservation of Lenny’s corporeal form over all other objectives and after the completion of this one command Len’s Hive State will try to gather all biomass in the immediate area unless restricted to do so in one of the previous limiters. Phylactery: Lenny has completed the first of his masterpieces following months of gathering, planning, and constructing. The result of this efforts is a new type of haemonculi known as a phylactery which differs in several significant ways from Lenny’s other haemonculi. The first difference is in the lifespan category, while the average haemonculi lived for a few days at most due to shortcuts taken in its construction, the work and craftsmanship Lenny puts into each phylactery enables each one to live for decades. Each phylactery is also sentient with high level animal intelligence (i.e. crow, dolphin, ape) that seems to be uncannily close to human intellect. This intelligence however, stems from Lenny’s own and each phylactery has its own mind based off a shard of Lenny’s consciousness and possess some personality features based off this. The relationship also functions in reverse with a shard of the phylactery’s mind embedded in Lenny’s consciousness. While currently, with only one phylactery, Lenny only experiences this feedback by occasionally possessing the phylactery when he dreams and occasionally remembering things he was not witness to, other side effects may begin occurring as Lenny constructs more and more phylacteries. The only other major differences of note is that phylacteries are fully independent and will hunt and provide for themselves without Lenny’s input. Lenny still can, however, control them exactly like all other haemonculi. The phylacteries also share Lenny’s ability at a low level and are able to keep up to four haemonculi active within a mile radius of them, controlling these haemonculi in the same manner as Lenny when he enters Hive Mind (i.e Moving them in a coordinated manner while the phylactery itself moves to encircle a prey animal) Lenny can currently have 1 phylactery. Equipment You Have: Scuba tank sized canister (usually filled with enough biomass for 2 Harvester heamonculi) 2 Utility Heamonculi (rat sized) one of the original design and one Mk II Digi glasses (glasses that can overlay diagrams and other information) Clothes Watch Carrying satchel for other stuff Garrote haemonculi rolled up in satchel 2 Barb haemonculi 3 small, empty flasks 1 flask filled with Barb produced Phenol Cell Phone and Wallet Time Stone Shard (Note) Has two Hunter haemonculi in the woods at all time due to a desire for rapid response in the case of emergencies. Phylactery #1 lives in the deep woods Residency Request: Yoshima 329 Schedule: Homeroom Teacher: Hiro 1) Science 2) Art 3) Supernatural Studies Personality Description: Lenny has adjusted to his powers fairly well which may explain his rather stable personality currently. His levels of aggression and hedonism are lower than they once were. In all aspects he is generally decently spoken with a bit of a too-clever tongue. It has been noted that for periods of time he can become observant, when in this state he is generally more reclusive, but far more curious and observant about the things around him. He'll ask questions but seem to focus deeply on individual thoughts or people, its a bit like a day dream to the outside observer. Lenny seems to have developed a state of mind where he uses his haemonculi far more than his normal senses. In truth he hasn’t used his actual eyes in months, or his natural ears, or nose and leaves those tasks up to haemonculi. Beyond that his diet is now entirely made up of haemonculi meat that while nutritionally designed from biomass, provides no actual taste to offend his senses. The B.R.P.D is wondering what kind of reaction he would have if forced to revert back to his own natural senses. Finally Lenny seems to have grown to take more vested interest with his abilities and considers them to be one of the greatest parts of himself. While he is willing to send many haemonculi to their deaths for a task he has grown to see them as his servants in some ways rather than unthinking creatures with no actual autonomy. He has also developed a massive protective instinct towards his Masterpieces, the Phylacteries. He considers them to be his wards to protect as they live their lives and holds them on the same level as humans. Lenny believes it would be beneficial to create more even though his current phylactery does seem to leave a shadow of emotion in his mind, sending light sympathetic emotions to him. Lenny also seems to have grasped onto some of the social norms of Japan and doesn’t seem to make as much of a fool himself anymore. Of course, his assertive nature and stubborn resistance still make him a person with a somewhat negative reputation. In general he has accepted that he will be an out of place person here in Japan and has decided to not pursue any attempts to correct this as he is simply content with improving his abilities to a significant degree. His major interest is Cryptozoology, or the study of formerly mystic creatures, this interest has led him to see the mythical creatures he formerly hunted as objects of study rather than mere biomass sources. The interest borders on obsession however, he has on more than one occasion risked his own well being to get a good look at a rare subject. This interest extends to sentient mystic beings which can lead to some odd instances when he refers to another student as "the subject" Personal History: Born in Seattle Len grew up to be well adjusted to urban American life. His educational pursuits showed no particular promise and it was assumed that he would follow his father and become a dentist. This very average life trajectory was changed upon the discovery of his abilities. His abilities at bio-shaping became known at the age of 14 when he tried to pet a cat that was actually dead. At first he was a bit shocked when an arcing energy flowed from his hands and turned the dead cat into a grayish goop, but he was even more surprised by the fact that his head was soon filled with knowledge of the makeup of this goop. His mind was filled with knowledge of the makeup of this cat, its proteins and cellular composition. This new found knowledge encouraged him to pursue greater pursuits in education. He further developed his abilities when he found that he could sculpt flesh via his powers. This occurred when Len attempted to construct to use the goop as clay, figuring that it sort of looked like clay, so it might be clay. He actually got a bit caught up in the creation and using his basic knowledge of anatomy he made a primitive insect that died a few hours later after Len had fun moving it around for a few hours. Len continued to use this power to his own benefit, especially when he found that his haemonculi could feel things better than he could. His use of his power for mere amusement was his main concern until the age of 15 1/2 when he developed a peculiar desire for adventure and a greater desire to indulge his senses, a desire that he found hard to sate in urban Seattle. After a few quick hours of internet searching he found a perfect opportunity in Shin Hyakuji High. It was free and exciting chance to travel to a strange new land filled with things he had absolutely no knowledge of. He did believe however that he need to improve his abilities and learn Japanese before the fateful trip. During this time he finally learned to ascend to hive mind state after hours of intense training behind a 7/11, which resulted in the death of many stray animals due to his uncontollable desire to collect bio-mass. After many hours of studying Japanese, however, he decided that he would probably learn enough to get by when he got there and was so tired of Japenese that he gave up on any attempt to gain further knowledge of Japanese culture. Len's training (and the animal disaperances tied to it) did not go unnoticed. A Belforest Academy recruiter appeared at his door about two weeks before he left. While the official was unable to convince Lenny to attend the academy he did convince Lenny to give consent to a few official documents that his parents signed soon after. To Lenny it was just a cool way to get cyber-glasses and compression containers but it actually entered Lenny into an odd position in the high school he would attend in Japan. While he was being educated by the Japanese high school the B.R.P.D was technically his legal guardian. He was not allowed to join any Japanese government organization not was he allowed to serve the government directly without the B.R.P.D's permission. While he is not entirely aware of this it could cause troubles for him later. Mashed Potatoes? There is no spoon Edited by Some Sketchy Guy, Apr 5 2014, 03:52 AM.
