Feiyun

{Moved from Yuki House: Don't Wake Me Up}

Walking outside, Feiyun took a brief moment to adjust her eyes to the morning sunlight before tugging Itari in the direction of the beautiful lake she had spotted yesterday on the school grounds as they were moving in. It would be a perfect place for them to practice, quiet and still, slightly isolated from the other public and usually crowded parts of the school grounds. It wasn't long before they arrived at the lake's shore, stopping near a well-placed gazebo. Standing on the grass, Feiyun admired the view of the lake; she always did enjoy beautiful scenery.

She let go of Itari's hand to begin practice and took a deep breath, calming herself and entering an almost meditative state. While she did often joke and tease, taichi was something she took rather seriously. Never had she missed a lesson or fooled around in class. It was very important to her and held a special place in her daily routine. Her heart-rate slowed and her mind cleared, she loosened up and stretched a bit before starting with her basic form. Her movements were light and graceful as a spring breeze, her body flowing through the air as though one with the currents. The form felt so natural by now, her muscles having memorized each pose after the hundreds upon hundreds of times she had practiced it. No longer did she have to think about where to go; her body remembered.

Itari

He allowed Feiyun to lead him by the hand across the school grounds, stifling the momentary urge to reprimand her. While it was technically improper for a mistress-butler relationship, Itari had to concede that he too, needed to adjust to life outside the estate; he still had his normal butler duties, but now he had to accomplish them in a more ordinary way. And that included granting Feiyun these little liberties of too-familiar behavior. Inwardly, he smiled; perhaps, his mistress was already far more adapted than he.

When they finally came to a halt, Itari found himself on the shore of the lake that occupied a large portion of the school grounds. At this hour, there was virtually nobody else present at this secluded place. Beside him, Feiyun took a deep breath, and at once he felt her body slow, the telltale signs of her entering her meditative state. Itari took a few steps back, giving her space; when she became full immersed in her forms, Feiyun had the habit of kicking up rather powerful gusts of wind without even realizing it. Though from a safe distance, her Taichi form was a beautiful thing to watch.

Stepping closer to the edge of the lake, Itari reached for the water, his mind wrapping around the liquid as it rose up to meet his outstretched hand. Without touching it, he directed it up and around him, mentally adjusting his grip as he shaped the water into a single stream. Already he felt his body stilling, breath and heartbeat slowing as his concentration narrowed, shutting out the outside world as much as he could spare. A brief moment of calm, devoid of all motion, like a figure frozen in time. Itari let out a breath, slowly, and began to move, falling naturally into a basic bare-handed Taichi form. The water moved with him, guided by his hands, flowing and shifting in the air around him, all at once offensive yet defensive, obscuring yet complementing, controlled yet unrestrained. With grace and harmony, just like he was taught.

The Devil Pig is here!
Unbeknownst to the two who had just entered the area, there was one other who had been hard at work since early morning. Already in a deep meditative state, Trystan was covered in a slick layer of sweat, his hair plastered onto his forehead, eyebrows furrowed deeply. He sat cross-legged by the trees, hands balled into fists over his lap, with the back of his fists pointing towards the ground. If someone had bothered to move in and look closely, he or she would have found that while it appeared that he was sitting completely still, he was actually mumbling words to himself as he meditated.

Clear the mind, push through the darkness...

He was exhausted, both in mind and in body, and almost at his limits. This new application of sakki that he had discovered while he was half-gone, both literally and metaphorically, was incredibly difficult to put his finger on. If he had to describe the feeling of using such a technique, it would be a mix of having to resist borderline insanity and being overwhelmingly crushed. The "technique", if it could even be called that, allowed for a high degree of sensitivity, allowing to him to locate nearly everything around him easily. This was accomplished by simply blasting sakki everywhere.

However, beings which were alive, and even the surrounding Nature itself, would subconsciously repulse such an assault. As such, it was a technique that literally put him against the entirety of the affected area, from the smallest bacteria in the soil to any passerby, or even the countless leaves on the trees around him. The flighty would run, but what could those fixed in place do but simply fight back? Granted, it was this which allowed him to accurately locate the objects around him but still...

Even now, he could sense the smaller animals and insects quickly disappearing from his range of sense. Nina was still here, hiding behind a tree somewhere, and was probably trying her best to suppress her own presence. It didn't actually help reduce the rebound coming from her, but he still appreciated the gesture. Deciding that he could probably endure just a bit more, he expanded his field of coverage slightly, in order to continue the practice on the animals who were trying to flee. However, he had not counted on two individuals to have suddenly showed up to this area which people normally would not visit at such an early hour. Trystan tried to contain the sudden unexpected rebound that had just shot back at him, but the nausea was simply too much. Quickly trying to contain his qi from "leading him into the fire and walking the path of the demons" (走火入魔), he barely managed to close off the circulation before keeling over onto his side and retching miserably and uncontrollably into the lake.

"Master!"

Itari

He was partway though a sword form when Itari felt a shift in the ambiance. He paused, the water in the air around him ceasing motion as well, and then his eyes turned to the lake shore, mere inches away from his feet now that the tide had risen. Something about the lake had just changed, that much he could ascertain by feeling the ripples reflecting off the shoreline, but where and what it was still eluded him. Relaxing his stance, Itari looked around; the day was relatively clear, and the sun had not yet risen high enough to be blinding.

A flash of motion drew his attention, and his gaze immediately fixed on what looked like a...maid? Whoever she was, she seemed to be in a hurry, rushing from the cover of the trees towards the edge of the lake. Narrowing his eyes, Itari peered closer; her destination seemed to be a person, currently lying on his side and retching into the lake. Considering this was on school grounds, Itari just hoped the guy wasn't drunk.

Releasing his hold on the water he had been manipulating, Itari headed over to the source of the disturbance. A quick glance told him Feiyun was still focusing on her form; with so much wind twirling around her, she would be fine on her own. Additionally, he was close enough that the air currents would be able to tell her that he had moved away. The couple by the shore seemed to be a greater concern, though if it was some lover's spat or other, the butler had no intention to interfere.

In the time it took him to cross the 150 meters or so, the maid had already arrived. Coming up behind the two, Itari kept his hands visible, open and at his sides, a non-verbal signal of peaceful intentions. His expression remained pleasant, with a tinge of concern that spilled over into his voice.

"Is everything all right?"

Feiyun

Deep in her forms, air currents flew about Feiyun's form, flowing with her movements as though directed her body. Little eddies swirled around her as she concentrated, her hair dancing lightly in the breeze, her mind completely lost in a meditative state. A disturbance in the air around her brought her attention back to her surroundings as Itari walked briskly by, heading towards what appeared to be a maid and an old male in the distance on the lake's shore. Slowing her movements, she ended her form with grace, allowing the wind to gradually calm down and fade away before she headed off after Itari. The male student appeared to be laying on his side, retching into the lake. That would explain her butler's sudden awareness of their presence.

Upon arriving at the scene, she heard Itari address them, asking what was wrong. Looking at the male, he seemed rather unwell. He appeared covered in sweat and continuously vomiting. Peering out from behind her butler at this strange scene, she waited to hear their response. Maybe they would need to get medical assistance.

"Master!"

Nina repeatedly, and violently, shook Trystan's shoulder, sending the world spinning over and over again, in her worry. While this experience was nauseating in and of itself, this was already much better than the nausea which he had felt earlier from the sudden rebound. As such, he simply rolled over onto his back, face towards the sky, so that Nina wouldn't be able to shake him much anymore; at the very least, by doing so, this vertigo should stop. As he lifted a hand to wipe away the dribbles of vomit which was still at the corners of his mouth, his hand was slapped away forcibly by Nina's, as she took a small napkin to his mouth instead. He could only smile sheepishly as she dabbed away, all the while grumbling something about him never listening to her when she told him not to push himself too hard and not knowing his own limits.

"Is everything all right?"

Trystan managed to lift his head slightly, and saw a well-dressed student approach him, with his hands at his sides. Well, at the very least, he thought the student was well-dressed. His vision was still a bit hazy, so he could only make out the dark form of some sort of attire. At the very least, his voice didn't sound threatening, and there were no hints of sakki emanating from him either. Managing to prop himself up, Trystan smiled slightly, his hair still a wet disheveled mess.

Clicking her tongue and sighing in disapproval of Trystan's insistence on moving despite not being fully recovered from the rebound just now, Nina stowed the napkin away neatly and moved into a seiza position with one smooth motion. She might be nagging more recently, but she really was just simply worried about his well-being. If only her Master would just understand this and listen to her for once! Shaking this thought from her mind, Nina then moved in closer behind Trystan and helped him sit up with his back to the tree before he could begin speaking. Having accomplished this, she stood up and folded her hands over each other, placing them in front of her, standing at attention. She had to be at her best, especially when there was an unfamiliar person in front of them. After all, a maid represented her master, and she wasn't going to be letting him down!

"Ah, I have presented an embarrassing side of himself-de gozaru; I must apologize for the trouble-de gozaru. It was only a bit of an unexpected qi rebound-de gozaru. I hope that I have not disturbed you -"

At this moment, Trystan noticed the other girl in the background looking over in their direction.

"- or your...companion during this fine morning-de gozaru."

Feiyun

Feiyun inwardly winced as Trystan's speech reached her ears. She had had enough of formalities and stuffy forms of speech at home; she didn't want to hear it here. Not to mention he spoke like he had fallen right out of a historical drama. Mayhaps he was not right in the head. Eyes judging him from the sweat on his forehead to the vomit on his face, she certainly did not have a very good first impression of him. Still shuddering from his speech patterns piercing her eardrums, she gave the maid a single glance before her eyes rested once more upon Trystan. A maid who could not properly tend to her master's needs and take care of him was probably not very competent. She spoke to no one in particular, merely expressing her thoughts out loud, her voice holding a tinge of relief…as well as a touch of perturbation.

"He seems fine at least, judging from his enthusiasm…"

Turning to Itari, she tiptoed a bit and whispered into his ear, "I think he's a tad queer. He might be drunk. Perhaps we should leave them alone...I won't want to associate with bad people."

Itari would probably be proud to hear his mistress paying heed to his constant words of caution in choosing who she kept company with.
