One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
~~Let's just skip through the preparations~~

Sitting there on one of the stools in his now-closed down shop, the old man took a little sip of tea from a cup. Haah... it has finally ended. The old man thought sadly as he slowly glanced around the dark and dank store. It used to be so lively... Aria loudly yelling for another bowl, with her fellow cops tagging along... sometimes the neighbors would join in as well. He turned to the side, looking at a particular stool that had apparently been heightened by a cardboard box. Mina used to be so small and shy, always sitting there silently with her fork...

He gave a sigh. It was... sad. To have everything end. But it's not like he could keep it up forever-

BAM!!!

The old man had one heck of a heart attack as light suddenly flooded the darkened store. He turned around with a racing heart, noticing the sliding door had been slammed open... and standing there was Mina with a large bag of something in her arms. "Whuh...? Mina- what...?" The old man stammered quizzically, only to have his sentence cut off immediately.

"Listen up, Ouji-san!" The girl said loudly. "It does not matter if you no longer wish to keep this store running, but I will not let it die off!" Indeed. If he doesn't want to run this store any longer, then she would have to just take things into her own hand! She rushed in, setting the groceries on the counter rather forcefully. "Alright, you are in charge of cleaning this place up! Make it attractive to everyone who walks past this store that they could not resist coming in!" She ordered Sirius around as the girl herself worked on the kitchen, grabbing a large pot, filling it with water and grabbed various amount of cooking utensils to dunk in them to clean them up. "I may not look like it, but I've tasted your ramen thousands of times to know how to make them myself," She said confidently, as she rinsed through the utensils. Even if she was the most terrible cook in the world, there is no way she cannot at least replicate her favorite meal.

She can do this... even if no one else wants to take it, she can do it herself!

Well she certainly was.. fired up..?

Perhaps he'd misjudged this girl a bit. She seemed a bit like an idiot. Not only that but a bossy idiot that rushed around at her own pace and dragged everyone into it. What kind of person was she exactly to cause this much trouble for others? In the end he was exasperated.

As she stormed in and took command he merely waited back quietly, nodding in agreement when he was told to clean up. Not long after she went back to cook and Sirius turned to the old man with a weary sigh. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to do something about her.. For now let's just let her go and then I'll talk to her when the timing is better, okay?"

Even if she was ridiculous the fact that she was in pain didn't changed. This was all her way of clinging to a fond memory and he understood that desire. So even if he wanted to be cruel he simply couldn't. For now he'd play along an let her act out and then eventually he'd figure out some way to let her down easily..

Well nothing to do but clean up, then..

And when the final step of the preparation was done...

"And we are open!" Mina said confidently, throwing the sliding door open. She turned back for a moment to give one final order. "I will go around advertising this place. You two stay here for the customers," And without further ado, the girl disappeared behind the sliding door with a snap.

Leaving the two there to... wait. I guess, in silence, accompanied by the quiet bubbling of the broth in the pot on the stove behind the counter. "Aiya... I'm sorry she had to drag you around like this..." The old man said apologetically, rubbing his neck as he turned off the fire. "I guess that's what happens when she looks up to her mother so much. That girl resembles her mother like no other..." Somewhat absent-mindedly he took an empty bowl from a cabinet and started making a bowl of ramen. "Once that girl sets her mind on something, she'll never let it rest,"

It didn't take long until a bowl of steaming hot ramen was slid under Sirius' nose. "It's on the house. That girl may not look like it, but she's a good cook," He said with a small toothy grin before turning around and heading towards the back door. "It's alright, you don't have to stay here any longer. No one's gonna come anyway," It... definitely sounded like he had completely lost hope, despite Mina's flaring determination to keep this store up. There's just... no way a place this old can be revived.

But we just have to wait and see, right?

Well, wait then.

...Keep waiting...

Wait...

...

The broth had gotten stone cold, the sun was actually setting, now the lights seeping through the paper layered sliding door was glaring red. Not a single soul had decided to pass through that door since Mina went out.

Speaking of, how is she doing out there?

Hours and hours... He felt every single one of them weighing down on him. What a complete waste of time and energy. She should have given up before she'd started. There was no way anything she did now was going to make a difference now, right? The business was failing for years. One day of effort can't mend all that..? But..

He at least admired her for trying.

So the hours weighing on him were more from sadness that no one had responded to her efforts. None of them had seen her out there trying and given it a second glance? He was starting to hate this city! Sirius sighed heavily as he looked at the doors. Hr rose from his seat and wandered outside.

He looked around for Mina. "Ah.. uh.. So how's it going out here..?" He said trying to broach the subject gently. He knew all to well how it was going out here but he wasn't going to rub her nose in that. Firstly because he's most likely get punched for it, but also because she was probably sad enough on her own without him helping out by being a KY.

Th girl didn't answer, sitting there leaning on the wall with her head hung, staring at the loosely held piece of paper in her hand. Hours after hours of calling out to people, persuading them and actually lowering herself to the ground for once, trying to get even one person to respond. But none. None even turned heads, none did a backward glance, none did a double-take, walking past her and the store as though they weren't even a part of reality.

Maybe she was... wrong. She really can't save this place...

She hates being wrong... the girl was revolted at herself for being wrong...

"It's... going fine..." She finally answered slowly.

Right. Even if she was wrong, there's no way she could admit it in front of her apprentice. Her pride as a (self-proclaimed) Ace Inspector was too strong. How can the daughter of the great Reality Breaker call herself a failure in front of everyone? Her mother was always confident in front of her... always holding her head high, always proud of what she does...

And... that's why she's gone...

"What kind of Ace Inspector who can't save a stupid ramen store..." The girl said slowly in frustration, burying her face in her arms.

"Well inspecting and ramen don't have anything in common.." He said not exactly sure what kind of logic she was applying to this situation. However, that might not have been the right thing to say. He sighed heavily as he sat down beside her. "The real question is..."

"What kind of Ace Inspector gives up after just this much..?" He said glancing back to her with a small grin. He hopped to his feet. "At least someone will eat this stuff... and if it's good... The they'll tell others, right?" He said looking around. "So what we need is..."

He dashed back inside for a while.

Finally he came out with several small cups used for sauces filled with samples. "We pass these around. If it's as good as you say then people will get a taste and try it for real!"

One could say her mind is an enigma. Or one could say that she applies a very simple logic to everything she does. An Ace Inspector must be the best in everything. Even in things that are completely unrelated to each other. And... he's right. What kind of Ace Inspector gives up after only this much? But... what else can be done? She was quite skeptical herself when he came up with such a simple solution. Too simple. "Giving away samples...?" What good will it do? People wouldn't even pay attention to her or the store, and he actually intends to persuade them with samples?

"Mind if I try one?"

It didn't come from besides them. Neither left nor right, neither front or back. In fact, it came from up above. Following the call a hand reached down and nicked one of the little cups from Sirius' hand. "Yooo there, hero boy~ Having fun, aren't you?" Looking up one would find a blond male in a black vest over a white shirt and a pointy black wizard hat, resting casually on a broom hovering just out of reach of Sirius' hands and giving him a sparkling wink. "Don't mind me, but I've been wondering what she was doing trying to get people to come to that old shack. Didn't think it was actually ramen store, sweet!"

"It is not an old shack!" The girl retorted angrily at the flying boy, getting up to her feet. Though her next action was immediately cut off by him dismissing her completely with a wave of his hand. "Pipe down, will you? That forceful attitude will never attract anyone. Now, excuse me for a bit," He said as he raised himself, sitting cross-legged on the broom (don't ask how he did it), placing his hands together as though praying, saying, "Itadakimasu~" before taking a sip of the soup.

As though lightning has flashed through his mind. One moment's taste of the soup was enough to halt all the gears in his brain, leaving only the part dedicated to taste running in overdrive. This ramen... this is not just any kind of ramen... of all the ramen he had ever tasted in this whole city, this particular ramen had one key ingredient that none had! The one force of nature that overpowers everything else in this whole wide world... "This ramen... is full of LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVEEEEE!!!!!!" He roared, flaring up in excitement as he leaped off his broom, immediately darting into the store without looking back. Well... no, he got back out for a moment. "I haven't introduced myself yet, have I? And this is our second meeting too, how rude of me!" He tipped his hat at Sirius with a grin. Admittedly he was still trying to avoid meeting him, but he knew very well he won't be attacked at this time. Don't ask how he knew, he just knows. "Kirisame Izumi, Ordinary Magician. Nice to meet you~" The monochrome wizard said with a bow and another one of his sparkling wink, before heading back into the store., where he could be heard yelling for the manager about the absence of anyone tending the store.

Leaving Mina to stand there staring at the closed sliding door in shock and awe. If her mind was working well, and it was... she just got her first customer... The truth took quite a bit to sink into her, but even as it did she still found it hard to believe. After all that hard work... things are finally starting to pay off... "...Hey..." She said slowly at Sirius, not actually looking at him. "...I made that ramen... You had one, right?" The girl hesitated slightly, before finally asking, "How... how was it...?"

Well. Technically... Sirius was her first customer, if he was the first one to have tried it...

"Hurm...... It was.... pretty astounding." He said with a nod. "I was expecting a simple flavor but it had a lot of depth to it.. I was amazed." He said glancing to her, grinning with a broad toothy smile.

"In the end I guess it's like that guy said. Your love for the recipe and the food is showing through from the taste. It feels like it's something you really understand." He said before dashing off to give more of the samples away.

Wait... That guy.... That guy...! THAT GUY!!!!!!!!!!

Sirius turned facing the building, his eye twitching. "YOU!!!!!" He bellowed out forcefully. He threw the (now empty) tray down activating both symbals.

"A forgotten-" SKIP THAT PART!!!!

"TORRRRYAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" He roared Zeal Burting into the shop, fist forward aimed at the guy's head. "AFTER YOU SHOT ME WITH THAT LASER YOU THINK I'D FORGET YOU?!"

Let's jsut forget that it took him ten minutes to remember..

However before throwing a punch he paused... Teeth clenched and eyes bulging he ground his teeth down scowling..

If he starts a fight in here... people will leave.. and then..

Grghhh...!!!

"Come. Step. Outside. So. I. Can. Have. A. Chat. With. You." He said through ground teeth, a menacing insane look in his eyes.

Geh. Dammit, he thought he could get away with it for a moment. He kind of managed to slip past his attention span for like... ten minutes or so. Though it definitely surprised him that he was actually holding back from beating him up right here, right now.

Of course, the reason couldn't have been more obvious, thought the ordinary magician as he glanced past Sirius' shoulder at the worried-looking girl from earlier, slurping up the last strand of his ramen. A smirk appeared on his face as he set the bowl back on the counter, clasping his hands together and bowing, "Thanks for the meal~" before rising up to his feet, returning the glare he received with a grin. "Of course, let's take it outside. Don't want to disturb the others, yes~?" He took a glance around the store, now starting to fill up with people as he made his way towards the sliding door, feeling the other dude's menacing stare on him. He passed Mina, giving her a small wink and muttering, "Put it on my tab, will ya?"

And before he even placed one foot out of the store-

"NOPE!" The ordinary magician immediately shot upwards like a rocket, rapidly pulled towards the sky by grasping his flying broom, immediately getting way out of the boy's reach before anyone could react. "Sorry, but I'm not ready to get pounded into a pulp yet!" He said with a triumphant laugh, tipping his hat at the two on the ground. "If you require the Kirisame's Magical Service, you can reach me at the old shack in the forest, where I'll be available at hour 1442 to 1053 every Monday and Friday, barring the rest of the week. Thanks for your participation, have a nice day!" And with one sparkling wink, he flew off.

...Wait, he didn't pay for the ramen. Though at the moment Mina was a bit too baffled by whatever just happened to think about that particular thing, blankly staring at the little dot in the sky. "...Is he one of your friend...?" The girl asked, before realizing something more important than having a strange witch dropping in as her first customer. "Oh. Uh..." She turned to Sirius, hesitating slightly and clutching her elbow. She hadn't acknowledged it before, but he really helped her get this store back up. The girl may be prideful, but even she knows how to appreciate a help when she gets it. "I... want to thank you. For helping me through all this..."

"A FRIEND?! HE'S A ROACH! NO A FLEA ON A ROACHES BACK!! NO A MICROBE ON A FLEA ON A ROACHES BACK! HE'S POND SCUM! I WANT TO STOMP ON HIM UNTIL HE'S A TWO DIMENSIONAL OBJECT!!!! A COMPLETE SCOUNDREL!" He said furiously. He turned glancing to the table. He looked from Mina back to the table and quickly put some money down before she'd notice. He didn't want her first customer to be a dine and dash. Even so...

Stealing from a cute girl trying her best!!!! HE REALLY WAS SCUM! DID I MENTION SHE'S CUTE? THAT'S THE IMPORTANT PART!!!!!!

Wait what?

Well.. Calm down.. calm down... calm...

He turned to her as she nervously thanked him. So damn cute! It's still the most important part! All boys schools were really hell, this was the life! Seeing girls his own age was truly an amazing experience. High school life, banzai!

"Well.." He looked to ther. "I think it's fine, either way... And I know it's not my place, but you know.. What you did wasn't wrong but I think maybe your motives were? If what you're afraid of is loosing the things you shared with your mom.. Well... It's not like those memories will go away, you know? They're real memories and they will always be with you. This place closing doesn't take away the time you spent here or make it less valuable.. That's just my input." He said rubbing his neck. "Anyhow, we should do more samples and cook some more. It's not like this place is packed with customers, yet!"

Perhaps he was overstepping his bounds but he felt he'd earned the right to say this much. More importantly the timing seemed right. Perhaps things would go smoother if he didn't question her but then she'd probably never realize the things right in front of her if he didn't., right?

Well but.. it would have been nice to savor that moment of meek gratitude a bit more..! So cute!

She didn't have anything to say. If at all it was probably a moment of realization for her. Or... maybe she knew about it already, but was still trying to keep at least something tangible to directly relate to the memories... I dunno, it's just painful for her to see a place her mother loved so much to just disappear.

...Maybe she's not doing it for her mother at all, but just to ease her own pain...

Well. Regardless, she's glad she did it. And she's glad everything is working out alright after all. And... she's got one person to thank to for all this. For once someone actually decided to stick with her, instead of running away.

...Oh, wait. Scratch that, this is the second time someone chose to stick with her. Of course, the first person only did it begrudgingly.

...It was only then did she realize. Even if Oliver had done it with chagrin, he still stuck with her. Erh. No... keep that thought off her mind. "Right, our job are not done yet!" With a renewed sense of vigor she slammed her fist into her palm, immediately darting towards the store. "Ouji-san! We need another set of samples, pronto!"

Be it out of determination or just pure idiocy, if you really put your heart into it you can pretty much do anything.
