Hayzel sighed as he took a seat beneath the giant sakura tree that overlooked the city of Hyakuji. Slightly dejected, the boy brought his knees to his chest and gave them a little hug while resting his head atop them. He still was struggling to make friends, though he supposed it had been slightly easier than doing back in the states.

Thinking about his home, he sighed once more then buried his face into his arms, rubbing his eyes a bit, trying not to feel upset. Taking in a deep breath, the boy lifted his head up then leaned back against the tree and stared up at the branches. It was too early for the cherry blossoms to bloom, but the buds were already starting to sprout from the branches. Smiling a bit, he thought of how nice it'd be up here when it was time for them to open.

Luke decided to explore the school grounds after unpacking his luggage in his room. It was quite boring to not be able to start school as of yet due to the weekends but Luke looked at the bright side, at least he had time to explore the school or even the town a bit before it began. Soon, he moved from the comfort of his room to the hallway and finally to the hilly side of the school.

There, in a distance, stood a large tree, which was what Luke knew as a sakura tree or cherry blossom tree. He marveled at such a sight yet a slight breeze blew as he climbed up the hill slowly. His white shortpants fluttering with his orange T-shirt and Joker dog-tag following the breezes movements, along with his silvery or grey hair. Once he reached the top, he saw a guy sitting there. It was weird but Luke decided to somehow approach the guy as he was new and wondered if this guy could show him the school as well.

“Hiya, mind if I take a seat? I like the view up here and why are you sitting here?” Luke said once he bended down to the level of the guy’s face and spoke with an amazing smile at the end. Alluring and full of the zest of life, Luke wanted to make the best out of it before it ends.. Or before it truly begins..

Hearing someone approach, the boy's ears gave a slight twitch, but he figured that he wouldn't be bothered. His blonde strands of hair delicately brushed across his face as he was approached by the newcomer. Opening his eyes, he looked up to silver hair male staring down at him. Enchanted by the male's smile, he watched as he knelt down next to him and asked to sit. Lost in the other's charm, the boy gave a light blush followed by a shy nod. After scooting over a bit, he moved his tail then watched the other while putting his head back against his knees.

Luke took his position beside the boy. They weren’t very far apart yet not too close. Just perfect for conversation to happen. Luke enjoyed a few moments of stretching his neck up and down to enjoy the view of both the branches of the tree as well as the limitless sky above it. So much beauty yet so much sin around. Soon after enjoying his short time of admiration, he turned his attention to the boy who looks younger than Luke. Luke saw that the boy was quite depressed about something but could not bring himself to cheer the boy up but he decided to somehow convince the boy to share his sorrow. It will make things feel better and the atmosphere wont be so tense. “So what’s wrong? You look like you’ve just gone though something bad..” Luke asked as he shifted his gaze to the boy and then back to what’s in front of him. He saw the city in all its glory and pondered on his future there as he awaited a reply.

Hearing the question, the boy sat up a bit and looked to the other and blushed a little. "It's nothing really. I'm just finally absorbing my reality," he replied before turning his attention back out to Hyakuji. Returning to the silence, the boy rested his back against the trunk of the tree then looked into the sky, not sure whether or not to elaborate or not. Feeling that the male would probably ask anyway, the boy then brought out his rosary* and began to fiddle with it. "It sort of hit me that I'm here in Hyakuji, an ocean away from where I was born and raised and I probably won't ever return there," he said softly while gingerly poking his finger through the pendant's loop.

"Is that so?" Luke whispered to himself. The irony of someone telling him that he or she is homesick. "Heh, I'll get it soon anyway.." A thought flew pass the young boy as he softly lay his head on the tree trunk. He gazed at the beautiful scenery before him and wondered what would happen if he was back at home. Will he gain freedom or just more imprisonment? It was the same for the boy. He was basically struggling to understand the new environment and people here. Luke knew how the boy felt. He went though it himself, taken away from a tender age of 12 and four years down the road, he still hasn't made contact with his parents. It was something sad but Luke grew somewhat used to it. "I guess you'll have to accept it.. like you, I too wish I was back home but it isn't possible now.. the name is Luke by the way.. nice to meet you.. Its rare to see someone like you in these parts.." Luke said as he turned his gaze and his right hand to get a handshake from the boy with a carefree smile. Luke too grasp his "Joker" dog tag with his left hand as a symbol of hope, trust and brotherhood. A sign of friendship has been planted but the question of it blooming.. Fate will determine its outcome.

"I don't really want to go back," he said softly, "It's just...I miss my family, but they are gone now." Back home he was constantly teased and harassed because of his appearance, he definitely didn't want to return to that. It was his grandparents that he missed, but they were gone now. Sighing, the boy closed his eyes and tried to forget about the past and focus on the person next to him. "My name is Hayzel," the neko said while opening one eye to look at the other. Seeing Luke's hand out stretched, he sat up and delicately shook it. He blushed a little, still not getting over the initial feeling of endearment from the boy's smile. "Ah. It seems i'm the only one of my kind in Hyakuji, or at least, I haven't seen anyone. I've only been here for a few days."

“Hmm.. I see..” said the enigmatic boy who phased out within the distance. A flash of memories came passed him, as the scenery of hyakuji vanished and replaced with distant memories when he was a young boy of his tender ages. Memories that he wished he could inscribe to be different, to fake, to defy what destiny has put him though. Although, he believes he can do it with his magic, it is forbidden to do so as the price to pay is losing ones old self.

A tear rolled down his left cheek as his hair covered most of his eyes. Reality snapped back in and sometimes these memories are too overwhelming for Luke. He kept quiet so he could maintain composure or the so-called coolness. He did not use his hands to wipe his eyes and allowed the tears to come down on its own. It was not weakness to cry, it was just the release of emotions, a calming meditation, as Luke tilt his head to look up on the sky above. At least, the sky wont change as time goes by.

As the silence once more crept between them, the neko let out a sigh. The boy still hadn't grown accustomed to the fact that the citizens of Hyakuji being rambunctious, so it was a nice to have someone a bit more docile. Watching the other quietly, he began to notice the other's demeanor become really solemn. As the first tear fell from the other's cheek, something inside him caused him to reach out to comfort the boy. Catching himself, he stopped his reach then curled his fingers delicately into his palm before pulling his hand to his chest. "Is there....something wrong," he asked shyly.

Luke stopped crying after awhile. It was better to release the emotions rather than bottling them up. Luke could sense his counterparts worry after the question. He wondered if Luke should tell him the truth but Luke knows his limits and bought strength to restrain himself from saying too much. He kept his composure enough and replied the boy. "Yea.. I'm alright.. Its just some dust in my eyes.." After that, Luke gave a carefree smile to Hayzel but in fact, he is hiding so much sorrow, to be strong and move on with life. He let off a sigh before returning into his relaxed position. Luke began to feel slightly sleepy and his eyes feels somewhat heavy. Slowly, he fell asleep.. It was a long way from the airport and unpacking took its toll on him. Maybe the power nap will help him recharge.

Hayzel gave the boy a concerned then moved a bit to become more comfortable. Resting his head against the tree, he watched the boy quietly as he began to drift off to sleep. The boy sighed softly then closed his eyes. It wouldn't be right of him if he left Luke alone, and he seemed to be tired so Hayzel couldn't bring himself to to wake him up. As he rested quietly, he felt a sudden warmth gently rest against his shoulder. Blushing darkly, the boy opened his eyes to find the other resting against him. Not daring to move, the boy quickly closed his eyes and tried to relax. Finding a strange comfort in the other's contact, he too found himself drifting of to sleep. **

As daylight turns to sunset, Luke woke up after the somewhat comfortable nap outdoors but as he moved his head after awhile, he realised that he was actually on Hayzel's shoulder. At that moment, he was shocked, stunned and in the "oh my god" moment, what had he done. His jaw was wide open as he quickly stood up and looked at the now still asleep Hayzel. "OH SHIT!! If it was a girl then I don't mind but a guy!! OH GOD!!!" Luke thought as he paced around the sakura tree, his hands rubbing on his head and thinking that the world has ended for him.

Soon after a few deep breaths, he calmed down and regained composure. "Ok. What's done is done.." Thought the young boy before admiring the look of the sunset. He thought he did better get going soon. He turned once more to see Hayzel sleeping calmly. He bent down and did a slight smirk before inscribing some words with his magic "Lux Ecriture" in english using the air as his medium. After finishing his message, he left waving to the sleeping boy, left inside his pocket while his right continued to wave until he disappeared into the scenery.

The message left behind was simple.
"Heres my number, Yuki, 333.. Till we meet again.."
