The sun had set in Hyakuji, and even the Pale Rider herself was starting getting weary, though she had plenty of time before she'd hit the sack. Having decided that the fastest way home dictated she cut through the park, she walked through. Though she could obviously cut her time into pieces by riding Necrohardt, she knew that people would question why a young girl would be riding a skeletal horse if for some reason they straggled through. And she already had to dedicate a tiny fraction of her power to passively suppressing her aura. So for now, unless she had reason otherwise, she'd stay on foot. So it should have been quiet, but of course, Hyakuji being Hyakuji, something was bound to break the quiet.

As Mira continued cutting through the park she would come across a fellow student who seemed to be glancing around carefully and then checking a piece of paper that seemed terribly wrinkled as if it had once been crumpled up. Letting out a soft sigh he crushed the paper in his grasp and tossed it aside as he began speaking to no one in particular while laughing madly, "Muahaha! Ahahaha! YES! I HAVE IT THIS TIME! WITHOUT A DOUBT! THIS IS HYAKUJI HIGH SCHOOL!"

"Wait," Dante suddenly stopped his tirade as he glanced around carefully, "I've seen these trees before. Wait.... ah... THIS IS THAT STUPID PARK AGAIN!!!" As he voiced turned a little whiny, Dante scooped back up the crumpled map and began to unfold it with a sigh, while his ahoge drooped with disappointment, as he moved towards the nearest bench. Sitting down, his scarf carefully moved positioning itself to drape over the back of the bench.

"Why does this keep happening?" Dante placed a hand over his face and then let it fall lazily to his side, "I was certain that was the right way to get to the campus. Man, and now the sun is setting. Hehe, well... it is my natural element. What a horrible night to have a curse~ But still, it's going to make finding Hyakuji High School a lot harder." Despite his best efforts, Dante continually kept getting lost and ultimately ending up back at Izanai Park.

Mira heard what sounded like an attempt at an evil laugh. Even in Hell, not many people laughed like that. Unless they WANTED to sound cliche. He further seemed to be lost. From what she could tell, he had a curse. He also claimed darkness was his element... which wasn't that odd. Overall, she judged him as...

A wannabe supervillian. However, he had a bit of an evil aura, so it'd be at least worth talking to him. Not to mention he seemed to have cursed weapons. She could keep her own aura under wraps until she deemed it necessary to reveal a bit of her true nature.

"... So, care to explain that nasty aura you've got? I can tell your at least more powerful than some dude who's practicing for a cliche supervillian cartoon voice acting gig." she asked him "And the name's Mira."

"Mira, I see," Dante mumbled still feeling a bit down about himself regarding his situation. He had arrived in town this morning and spent the entire day wandering around unable to locate the high school. Time and again he kept ending up in this blasted park and earlier even had a rather unfortunate encounter over a vending machine. Why did these bad things keep happening? Still, were things all that bad? Even if things had been unfortunate earlier, Dante had at least learned something.

That was right! Every encounter only pushed him further along the road to becoming a Demon Lord one day. And now he even had a rather cute girl speaking to him even though it was only his first day in Hyakuji. Dante couldn't help but take this as a sign. His conquest would come to victory very soon! "You've got skilled eyes on you then; I guess they're not just for looking cute," Dante spoke confidently as a grin came to his face while he rose from the bench, "I am Dante the Dark Hero! Clearly, even at a glance you can sense the malicious evil coursing through my veins!"

"As a matter of fact," Dante continued as he held out his arms triumphantly while his scarf moved each side as if mimicking him, "One day once I obtain enough power, I'm going to find a powerful Demon Lord and usurp his throne becoming one myself! Quite unbelievable, isn't it!? Yep, I'm really pretty amazing~"

When Dante began to speak of 'looking cute', she rolled her eyes. He at once appeared to her to be full of himself. Of course, part way through his introduction, she claimed to be a dark hero AND evil at the same time.

"How the heck does 'hero' and 'evil' combined make sense?" she mused. She'd have to inquire with him on it later.

However, when he announced his plans to usurp a demon lord's throne, she visibly began to crack up. She then laughed "Ahahahahahahahaha!"

Her laugh was somewhat atypical. It sounded a bit psychotic, a bit arrogant. It was more just that she developed her laugh in an environment where she could act psychotic and arrogant.

"Seriously, you actually think you can do that? Listen, most demon lords would wipe the floor with you!" she laughed.

Ok, she was laughing extremely hard. So hard, that she lost control of her own aura suppression. And of course, this meant she was spewing her characteristic demonic aura, which implied she was not just a demon, but a demon with a huge amount of potential. She clearly wasn't a demon lord in terms of present power though. Depending on how much of his evil homework he'd done, Dante might even put two and two together, and figure out she's a fiend clan demon.

"Now that's a good laugh!" Dante complimented Mira with a grin as she continued on to rant at him. It seemed she didn't really care for his dream, but he didn't really care about that. Dante knew it was a hard road to follow, but he was determined. Nothing would stop him. Even if it took years and years to realize, he would achieve his dream and become a Demon Lord!

"I don't just think I can," Dante continued as Mira's demonic aura began to become more clear, "I know it'll happen one day. I already know I don't stand a chance right now. That's why I came here to Hyakuji. I'll level up and become strong enough to take one down while amassing a powerful army of subordinates!" It was at this point Mira's aura was so clear that even someone as unwitting and unperceptive as Dante could pick up on it.

"Woah," Dante commented in awe, his ahoge perking up with curious interest, as he crossed his arms, "You're actually way strong aren't you! I can sense it now! Hey, you know... Why don't you become my first subordinate? While you are kinda cute, I'm not sure girls that look as young as you are my thing... so I don't think you'd be a good fit for my inevitable harem befitting a Demon Lord. Hrm, although I suppose there is the token loli. Nah, you're super strong... that's an important asset." Dante seemed to rant freely before the girl even though it seemed like some of what he was saying would have been best kept as thoughts in his head instead of openly admitted.

"Yes! That's it!," Dante shouted triumphantly as he pointed at Mira, "Join me, the Dark Hero Dante, in my quest! Together we'll amass an unstoppable army of powerful people and take down the strongest Demon Lord imaginable! I'm sure with your power by my side, we'd be able to accomplish great things!" It was certainly odd. If the boy was so obsessed with being a Demon Lord should he really qualify their actions as "great things" in the end? Dante was certainly a rather odd fellow.

Mira was a bit surprised when Dante found her aura out. He was just so hilarious she lost control of it. She really needed to improve there, she'd lost control more than once at Hyakuji already. Also, 'level up'? Well... he was probably a gamer. She supposed that when people have powers, 'level up', isn't the worst figure of speech for 'get stronger'. Ah the heck with it anyways, cat's out of the bag, she'd just release her aura for now.

"First, this isn't even my true form. Just a minor shapeshifting technique to keep the townspeople from crapping themselves. That and to get the 'smite first, ask questions never' types to leave me alone." she mentioned. She momentarily figured what she said would make things worse. She had a rather powerful

"Second, I'm trying to lay low. I've killed my half-siblings, betrayed by own father, gained the ire of Hell itself... and turned good in the process, losing the vast majority of my power. At any rate, at this point, I'd be more likely to try to save the world than destroy it." she mentioned.

"At any rate, I guess I owe you a more formal introduction. Mira Morningstar, Fiend clan demon, daughter of Lucifer, and the Pale Rider, or as I'm better known to the residents of the Asiyah Plane as, the Horsewoman of Death." she introduces herself.

As Mira began to explain herself ruther, Dante's eyes seemed to quite literally twinkle with excitement as he dropped his pointing hand and clenched both fists before him with glee. "That's amazing!" Dante exclaimed, "You did all that bad-ass stuff and you're super strong to boot. Even after losing all that power. You're like amazing!" Dante knew the city was well known for its super-powered students and this was one of the deciding factors for enrollment. However, he never expected to so quickly find a suitable candidate for being one of his subordinates.

"Very well then," Dante nodded as Mira introduced herself, "It's certainly this Dark Hero's honor to be meeting you Lady Morningstar." He kept a very respectful tone though this did little to hide his eagerness at the situation. One of the four horsemen, a Fiend, was standing before him right now. While she wasn't a Demon Lord, reduced abilities or not, she also wasn't that many steps away.

"Still, you know if you want to save the world it might not be a bad idea to help me achieve my dream. Haven't you ever heard of a situation like that. Y'know all..." Dante continued excitedly before taking on a lower and more dramatic tone like the narrator for an anime, "DESTROY THE WORLD TO SAVE THE WORLD!"

"Well, killing my siblings just involved smashing an object right in front of me." she mentioned. She was fairly pleased with getting praised at any rate. Getting called 'Lady Morningstar' was a bit too much, but whatever.

It seemed to be something of a ploy to get her to serve him. Though his 'destroy the world to save the world' idea didn't make too much sense to her, she did get an idea. He seemed like he would be less likely to cause trouble on the human plane than some Demon Lords, or at least less likely to try and pull something. Or at least less effective at such.

"Listen, I'm not willing to be your subordinate. But I suppose I could lend my assistance at some point. At any rate, a demon lord will probably show up in Hyakuji looking for trouble one day or another." she mentioned "Oh, and quick tip. Learn to conceal your aura. Otherwise, sneak attacks will be ineffective because they'll see you."

It was useful to know, it also helped keep people from freaking out. But he seemed like the type to let everyone know he was evil, so putting it that way made more sense.

"Nice!" Dante admitted as Mira spoke of her siblings' defeat, "And that's excellent! If it helps you by calling it friendship then being my subordinate will work out just fine for us all~ And I see... the aura... well... if it will help in ambush attacks then I suppose it's worth being a little humble now and again..." Nodding, Dante held out his hand as if offering a handshake to seal the deal while clearly taking her advice to heart thanks to how it was phrased. It seemed he was still clung onto the idea of her being his subordinate. However, he seemed far away from being the type to actually issue commands down to her; especially considering Mira's background.

"And of course," Dante continued with a happy grin seeming surprisingly sincere in his words, "If you ever need help with anything then I'll be there as soon as I can. That's the kind of Demon Lord I want to be. Nothing is more important than my trusted subordinates! If a Demon Lord does show up here in Hyakuji then we'll be ready by that point and destroy them swiftly!"

"Man, it was really lucky that I got lost and wound up back here again. I'm so pumped up from meeting you, Mira! Though I do wonder where that high school actually is," Dante shifted from super-excitement to a sense of puzzlement. All day he had been trying to find Hyakuji High School and failing. Still, these failures were worth it. Even a failure was still one step towards becoming a Demon Lord. Now, he had already begun down the path to his first subdordinate!

Mira facepalms "I'm not saying I'll be your subordinate. Just an ally. Given how often I hear something supernatural happens, I wouldn't be surprised if a demon lord waltzed into this town looking for trouble. Besides, I figure since you'll have human roots, I could expect less damage to the Asiyah plane at any rate once you gain power. That, and the other reason is because I imagine I'd get to hit things a lot."

"That, and he seems incompetent enough to where it'd be easier to stop him if he tries to take over this world." she thinks.

"Oh, and the school." she mentions.

Suddenly, a skeletal horse pops out of the ground.

"Necrohardt should be able to take you there. You don't have to have clue how to ride a horse, he knows the way, you just have to know how to not fall off a horse."

"Right right, exactly. Yes!" Dante nodded in agreement though in actuality he had already decided that Mira was his first subordinate. It was amazing! Already, just on his first day here, Dante had taken a major step towards his dream. With the Pale Rider by his side there was no way he'd not be able to become a Demon Lord in the end. Everything was going perfectly.

As Mira summoned Necrohardt, Dante watched on in awe and excitement. "AMAZING!" he cried as he walked around the skeletal horse quickly examining it, "You've even got your own steed. Ah, but I guess that should have been expected for the Pale Rider. You know, I'm sure I was close to finding the school, but if you're kind enough to already help me then I'll accept such a favor from my favorite subordinate." Of course, there were many problems with this. First, Dante had yet to come even close to winding up on the school campus; in fact he tended to just loop around the nearby area and wind up back at Izanai Park. Second, of course, Mira wasn't his subordinate in any sort of official sense. However, neither issue seemed to worry the excitable Dante.

Carefully, Dante climbed onto Necrohardt. He had never rode a horse before, but he had a vague idea what to do. That primarily meant trying to look cool like some heroic gunslinger as he'd ride along with his scarf whipping in the wind. "Ah but," Dante suddenly spoke up as he glanced back towards Mira, "When will I see you again? Or how will I get in touch with you?"

He clearly didn't get it, but he didn't have to. At some point, he'd figure out he didn't have to authority to make her do things she didn't want to.

"Yeah, best part about skeletal horses is their low maintenance. All I have to do is feed him chicken bones every once in a while, and I don't have to worry about cleaning up or grooming him or something. By the way, travels as fast as a car, just so you know." she mentioned. He seemed to act like she was doing him a favor.

Getting in contact with her? Well, simple. She wrote down something on a slip of paper, and handed it to Dante.

"Here, my cell phone number." she mentioned "Just make sure you don't get into anything you can't handle alone without me. I can't teleport."

"You're so cool," Dante admitted excitedly as his eyes twinkled happily. This really was a lucky first day. As Mira handed him her cell number, Dante carefully pocketed the slip of paper making sure he wouldn't lose it. It was a little weird. Dante was pretty sure this was the first he'd even gotten someone, let alone a girl's, phone number at first meeting like this.

"Thanks," Dante added regarding the number before facing forward and pointing as he shouted excitedly, "ALRIGHT! NECROHARDT! LET'S GO, FORWARD INTO THE DARK NIGHT AND ON TOWARDS HYAKUJI HIGH SCHOOL!!!" Having no knowledge about riding horses, Dante hoped his epic appeal was enough to set the skeletal beast on its way towards the campus.

Necrohardt rode off to the gates of Hyakuji High, and Dante would find the moment he stepped off the horse, it would disappear.

Once he was out of sight, she sighed "Why do I get the feeling that I just got myself into a big mess?"
