"Nonsense sir. If I were hitting on her I'd have succeeded by now." With a smile he crossed his arms. "I think the order is clear. Hayzel, then Alexis, then you." He nodded to Nigel, since he was the one that asked. He glanced to Cecelia and finished his statement. "And I suppose I'll be the Daughter on this roster since you refuse." He turned toward the man at the counter and waved his hand in an arbitrary manner. The rest didn't need to know what that was about but the man at the counter ducked out when he did it. He turned his attention to the Boy Edited by Kaloo, Mar 13 2012, 09:02 PM.

The neko blushed a little as the male called on him. "Well, I guess I'm up," he said softly. Picking up his ball, he placed his fingers inside the holes then lined himself up with the lane. Shaking a bit, he flicked his tail brought his hand back before swinging forward. Releasing the ball, he watched as it flew into the air, bounced off the gutter then back onto the lane before rolling into the pins, knocking all of them down except for the seventh and tenth pin. "Ah...ah....two pins left," he said while drooping his ears, unaware that he had completed a foul. |

Erin, as the team leader did have some responsibility for the behavior of his recruits, even if he hadn't let them in yet. As the green ball came back up the ball return he brought it to Hayzel, "Okay now. You probably won't be able to get these but you need to finish out your set." Getting Hayzel's attention, he stepped through, demonstrating a more proper step and release, though he didn't actually let go of the ball. "Remember, in Bowling you don't want to throw the ball into the air. You want to roll it down the lane." It wasn't really advice or anything like hat. It was more a reiteration of how to bowl. "Now, go ahead and do your second roll. Good luck." Erin, despite himself was hoping that the boy's form would be smoother. It certainly couldn't get much worse... Well, he found the rather reckless not gutter ball to be exciting, but that wasn't really relevant. |

Hayzel's eyes watched the man carefully as he demonstrated the proper follow through. It was at times like these when he was thankful that he was neko, and could experience things in a bit higher detail than most humans. Shyly he took the green orb from the leader's hand then placed his hand back into the holes. To practice, he did a follow through just like the Erin had done then returned back to the starting point. Taking a deep breath, he lined himself up then carefully took the proper footing for the follow through. Once his arm was extended, he let go of the ball and let it roll down the lane, growing close to the gutter. The boy's tail gave a little flick as he closed his eyes, not wanting to see it land in the gutter. Hearing the ball make it to the end of the lane, he opened an eye just in time to watch one of the pins fly towards the other but just miss it. |

Nigel let out a chuckle and shook his head. "Whatever you say kid, let's get this show on the road." He moved to the bench as the order was told and sat next to his daughter. He would whisper something to her and then look back to the other kids and smile. It was time to get this bowling thing started. Once Hayzel got around to his fiasco, Nigel stood up and shook his head. "Come on kid, you gotta have a bit more confidence in your pose than that. Closing your eyes ain't gonna change anything." He said, walking behind the boy and patting him on his back. "Let me show you how it’s done." He added once Hayzel's pins and things were counted and his score was displayed. It was now girl's turn, so Nigel would have to wait for her before giving him a proper demonstration. Sure, the leader's advice was great and all, but Nigel could add the paternal authority to his voice that seemed to be a great motivator. |

It was her turn, and she couldn't wait to get started. Slowly getting up from her seat Alexis made her way towards the ball rack to chose. It took her a few moments to select a lavender ball situated in between two black ons, and picked it up. From what she had read about them, the balls where suppose to be on the heavy side, and it was no lie. With some effort, she did manage to lift it into her hands, and proceeded to walk over to the lane. Once she was right behind the land she slowly began to walk up, bent down, and with her two hands...gently rolled the ball down the lane. As if it was in slow motion the ball traveled down slowly curving to the left. It managed to slowly roll down, knocking down the pin on the very far left before disappearing behind the white pins. "I got one" Alexis said happily. |

Erin nodded to her. "Just take a breath and try again. Throw it harder and faster." Sure, she wouldn't get a strike or anything but they seemed to be totally new to bowling. So, them doing poorly here was more or less acceptable. Though as a team it wouldn't exactly support them. He would have demonstrated or something but there seemed little point in it. If he decided to do that sort of thing then... He would work it out later. For now they just needed to get through this frame. Nigel would get a strike, or at least a spare without any direction from him. |

As instructed Alexis took the same ball of the bowling rack, walked up to the line, took a deep breath, and proceeded to role the ball just as she did before. This time putting more effort then she did last time. The ball managed to speed down the waxed lane at a much quicker pace. Towards the end of its travel, the ball slowly went off towards the gutter, but not before clipping another pin, and gently knocking it to the ground. That left 2 of the nine pins had been knocked down. "Is that good?" she asked. |

"Nope. But at least it wasn't a gutter ball. If you keep playing I'm sure you'll get the hang of it." Erin said calmly. You would expect that people coming to 'tryouts' would at least have a bit of experience, but whatever. He'd tried to convince someone who actively refused to bowl to play so clearly that wasn't the point. On that note Erin turned to the father, "You're up chief." |

Nigel watched quietly as the second of the group was instructed. He wouldn't say anything and let the girl do what she could. Cecelia would watch from the bench, watching as well and paying little attention to her father. It seemed that the girl was new to bowling for the most part, much like Cecelia. But unlike her, the girl also had a desire to play it. Cecelia was more used to sitting by the sidelines and watching her father. He was already good at the things he enjoyed doing, so watching someone else learning to get better at something was kind of a fresh sight. Cecelia liked it. When Nigel's turn came up, he stretched a moment and smirked. "Watch this baby!" He said, throwing and rolling his ball down the lane. It would start off center and make a wide curve turn the front center pin. And as one would expect form someone experienced in bowling, he would score a clean strike. Standing tall after a victorious throw, he rolled his neck and wait for his ball to come back up. Nigel was good, but he wasn't consistent as the others would soon find out. |

Well, Erin wasn't surprised that Nigel got a strike. You could expect anyone who was serious about bowling to get a spare at least most of the time. So Erin was glad to have at least one good player here. Less would be a bit... Well, he supposed it was his turn. He stood up. "Let's see how I do then." Erin casually stood before the lane. No point doing anything wild. He repeated the basic motion he had instructed Hayzel in earlier and rolled the ball straight. Sure, a lot of bowlers threw with hooks and the like, but Erin wasn't too worried about that sort of thing. The ball crashed down most of the pins, leaving one standing in the corner, much to Erin's apparent annoyance. Well, he was pretty sure he could hit that without too much trouble. Recovering his ball he threw it without paying much attention and turned to the group. He glanced past them to the man at the rental counter, who nodded back to him, before speaking. Though that was interrupted by the last pin being knocked over in the background. He resumed "Honestly from this single frame I feel I have a grasp over each of your abilities." And with that comment he sat down, before nodding to Hayzel. |

Once the bowling ball knocked down the pins, Alexis jumped up out of her seat, clapping excitedly. "Fantastic" she exclaimed. "That was a great....strike I think". She sat back down on the plastic chair. It was nice to see her fellow class mates to knock all those strange pins down, and it did give her something to strive for...even though she really had no idea what to do. |

Hayzel watched patiently as the other's bowled. Watching the captain not even pay attention and still pick up a spare, he suddenly clapped, mirroring Alexis's standing ovation. Once the male had signaled his turn was back up, he picked his ball back up then positioned himself just as Erin had. Flicking his tail back and forth, he lines up the ball then tossed it down the aisle, until it crashed into the pins, once more leaving the seven and tenth. Once the ball returned, he picked it up then took a deep breath. Swinging his arm back, then he swung his arm forward and watched as the ball teetered on the very edge of the gutter. Closing one eye, he watched as it crashed into the tenth pin, causing it to roll over to the seventh. Pleased with himself, he looked back to the other's "Did I do better?" |

Nigel smirked as the last boy went and got a spare. He knew better than to be conceited, so he kept his mouth shut, but he did glance a look at his daughter. Crossing his arms over his chest he, nodded his daughter over. Standing up, Cecelia moved to sit next to him while Hayzel was moving to roll his turn. Leaning over, Nigel whispered into Cecelia's ear and then looked back at Hayzel. "Don't be scared of the ball boy." He said, commenting on how he was closing one of his eyes. Meanwhile, Cecelia sighed silently and leaned against her father, resting her head. |

"Don't worry. You'll get the hang of it eventually." Erin said casually as he sat their watching the cat boy go through his frame. He wasn't really sure why he was watching this whole affair. It was clear that no one except Nigel had a clue what they were doing. Though Hayzel's consistent split was a bit amusing. OoC: As clarification. We'll go through this frame then we're going to jump forward to the final one, because going through step by step would get dull. So we'll jump to the climax. |
