After rereading his flyer for the bowling team tryouts once more, Hayzel looked around the empty bowling alley, trying to figure out why he seemed to be the only one there. Deciding to take the time too look around, the boy wandered about the lanes and shelves of colorful balls. Taking a closer look, he noticed that all the balls, chairs, and even the floor had what seemed to be some sort of blotchy residue on them. Feeling uneasy, his hair, ears, and tail suddenly stood at end. "Wh-what is all this stuff," he said while slowly backing away from the lane area.

"It's paint for the black lights," came a gruff voice from behind. The boy jumped in shock, not knowing that he had been being watched the entire time. After being explained to as to how Astro Bowling was run mainly at night, the boy paid for his shoes and ball rental then went to go sit at a lane while waiting for others to show up.

"Excuse me?"

The gentle voice of Alexis asked the boy in front of her. "I'm here for the Rollin Strikers try outs" She took a glance at the large bowling ally noting the several massive lanes, and equally large array of multicolor bowling balls stored on the racks. "I've read about this bowling...I really want to give it a try" she said turning back towards the boy.

Usual visits to the bowling alley would family affairs or for dates. It was rare for there to be open try-outs for a bowling team, at least to Cecelia's understanding. However the girl was not a bowler. She wasn't very good at the game and definitely too timid to try something like a try-out. She was here with her father. He was a competitive man and a bowling team was just the kind of thing he was in to. And while he didn't expect kids to try-out as well, he really didn't mind them at all.

So, after entering the alley together, Nigel and his daughter, Cecelia made their way over to the two teens that had already arrived. Cecelia would quietly sit down on a nearby bench, not saying a word and holding her hands in her lap. They were held snugly onto a small notebook and a pen. Meanwhile her father would approach the two with a smile. "Here for the try-outs huh? How about a bit of muscle for the team?" He said with a chuckle, flex his unimpressive arm. He didn't expect them to take him seriously, but if they did, he was sure to keep a smile on his face to keep things light-hearted.

Erin Sansai, bowling club leader, came out of a back room looking ready to do things with his silly two tone bowling shoes, khaki pants, bright blue polo, and a hefty roundish brown leather bag. What could possibly be in there? Certainly not a bowling ball.

Erin saw the older gentleman showing off. "Nice to have you here, sir." Erin laughed lightly. "And a pair of lovely young ladies as well." He nodded to Hayzel last. "And one boy." He had noticed him last and didn't have anything to say. A guy didn't need meaningless comments.

"Well now we can figure out which of the four of you make the cut." He glanced Hayzel again, "I'll refund what you spent on the rentals. I'll cover them for the try-out." With that said Erin leaned down looking at everyone's feet and walked over to the counter, not waiting for anyone to object or comment as he told the gruff man from earlier what size shoes he needed for everyone.

Hayzel smiled at the girl who approached him and gave her a nod. "I think this is the place to be, it's what the flier said, but it seems to be just us," he said while looking past the girl to see two more people come in, "Oh, I guess I'm wrong."

After the older man introduced himself, the boy laughed nervously then sat down to put on his shoes. By the time he had tie the laces and stood up, the team captain had made an appearance and a small introduction. Standing up, the boy brushed himself off and gave a small bow. "Thank you for your generosity," he said politely before running off to find a ball that would suit him.

Alexis bowed to the team leader.

"It's a pleasure to meet you" she said with a polite smile. "I look forward to...." She looked up just in time to see the man walk towards the counter. "...meet you".

Her attention turned toward the other students who attended the meeting curious as to who they were. "I'm not familiar with most of you here" she said before bowing to them. "My name is Alexis Blomst...It's a pleasure to meet you all". She straightened back up with her usual beaming smile. "I wish all of you good luck"

Nigel looked to the team leader with an approving nod. "Heh, not sure what kind of team we'll be, but let's do this." He said, taking a moment to glance back at his daughter. Cecelia would look to the rest of the group, still sitting on her bench knowing that she would not participate in the try-outs. She was here to watch her father since he enjoyed having her around. In fact, a lot of both their free time was spent together, whether it was willing or not. Even now, Cecelia would be silent, letting her father speak to her and watching the students. Both the 'team leader' and one of the people trying out were male. It was something that was a problem for Cecelia as she didn't feel comfortable around them.

But with her father here, she could at least feel a bit safe. With those two, her father, and the girl, they would be a team of four. Stepping forward, Nigel placed his hands on his hips and stood proud. "I see my size already. Cecelia, be a dear and grab a pair for me." Nigel commanded his daughter. Cecelia would nod, hopping up quickly and getting a pair of bowling shoes for her father. She already knew his size and preference as this would not be the first time she would handle something like his shoes. She just hoped that the try-outs would go well and her father wouldn't get upset.

"Here you go young lady. A pair for you and your father." Erin said handing Cecelia two pairs of shoes as he walked by with one more pair for Alexis in his hand still. "Here you are Alexis." With that the first task, acquiring shoes, was complete.

Once Cecelia returned he resumed. "Ah, yes. I suppose as the leader I should introduce myself as well. My name is Erin Sansai, spelled like a girl." He always mentioned that when he introduced himself and he felt no need to break the habit now.

"Everyone try to find a ball you're comfortable with." Moving over to the ball rack Erin began lifting a handful to find one that he liked. Apparently it really wasn't a bowling ball in that bag he had. Finding one he turned back to the group, and checked if anyone needed any help.

Alexis thanked Erin after taking the shoes from her.

To say that they where something interesting would be a very big understatement in the eyes of the young flora mage. The flat soled shoes where awash with two-toned colors, and with laces that somehow managed to mute the other primiary colors. It took the girl a little while to fully examined the outside of the shoes before placing them on the ground.

She placed them on, and snugly tied them to her feet, tapping eacb tip of the shoe to make sure they fit.

They did.

"Now what?" she asked.

Hayzel watched the other's as he ran his fingers from ball to ball. Too distracted with them than paying attention to what he was doing, he picked up a ball far too then dropped it on his foot. He let out a loud meow then bent down to rub his hurt foot. Hearing Erin introduce himself, the boy's ears perked up. "I-I'm Hayzel," he called while trying to stand up. Hobbling a bit, he looked around for a better ball until he found a shiny green ball.

When the pair of shoes was brought over to her, Cecelia looked away from the boy. She lowered her head and held her hands out to take them. However, she did not put them on. Instead, she glanced at her father and then set them down on the bench next to her. She wasn't really interested in bowling. It was something that her father liked and she was really only here for him.

Bowling was something she had only done once or twice and that was it. The awkward moment would be quickly interrupted when the other boy dropped a ball on his foot. Cecelia would jump in surprise and Nigel would shake his head. "Gotta be careful there boy. You'll break your foot!" He advised, walking over to him. "Make sure nothing's broken alright." He added before turning to the 'leader.' My name's Nigel. That there is my daughter, Cecelia. She's just here to watch."

"Are you okay?" Alexis asked.

A tinge of concern crept in as she saw the obvious pain Hazel was feeling. That ball looked so heavy, and there could have been a possibility. "This sport is much more dangerous that I originally though" she noted looking over at the heavy balls. "I'm surprised that we aren't required to wear more safety equipment" If only she had brought her travel bag with her, it seemed that it could come in handy with the potential danger they could face in the tryouts.

Nigel was checking on Hayzel so Erin didn't feel too concerned about it. "Please try to be careful. It wouldn't be fun for anyone if someone got injured."

He moved over to the young lady who apparently wasn't playing."Oh? Are you certain you wouldn't like to play a bit. I mean even if you don't want to join the team I have got everything set up for anyone who shows up." Erin got caught up in whatever nonsense was going on around him so her lack of enthusiasm or even willingness to play seemed rather odd to him.

Well, he wasn't going to force her to play, as much as he wanted to. He engaged in a lot of arbitrary acts but usually only because someone else was involved. He also wasn't changing the score card he'd set up. Punching a few poorly made touch screen controls he brought up the card on the screen. On it were the players as he'd marked them without knowing their names.

From top to bottom it read The Boy, Girl 1, Father, Daughter

"Okay then. We'll be doing one set to start then we'll move on from there." He still wasn't sure what to do but he supposed since she didn't want to he could bowl in her spot... Even if it did mess with his other arrangements.

Hayzel drooped his ears, embarrassed that everyone seemed to notice his accident. "Th-thanks for worrying about me. I'll be more careful now," he said while standing up and putting the ball back on the shelf. Finding a bright green ball that suited him, he picked it up and placed it on their station rack. A-are you going to play," he asked, while looking up to Erin.

Cecelia looked over to the boy that seemed to insist on her playing. Again, she shook her head, but in case that wasn't enough, she opened up her notepad to one of the pages in the beginning. Scribbled there in big letters was the word "no." Cecelia was a mute and as a result, she could not speak. She communicated what she could with body language and everything else was in her notepad.

After using it for such a long time, a lot of predetermined answers were already written down, so she could quick reference them when she needed to. Conveniently enough, on the same page was also the word "yes," but Cecelia made sure to point to "no." Nigel looked back at the two and chuckled. "Boy, you should know better than to try and flirt with a man's daughter right in front of his face. Leave her be." He told him before looking at the core screen. "So who's up first?"
