Away from the hustle and bustle from the big city, the black and red bike known as the Beat Chaser moved. While it may have been too predictable to head to the very store he managed, the scenery was less daunting in the suburbs. At the same time, he was just aiming to get to the cafe really...someplace quiet and out of the way so Louise can actually calm down. A lot had happened and Kouta knew it was all confusing, he'd been there...so he already had an idea how to remedy that kind of stress.

Someplace with an atmosphere that was welcoming, some food, and then...time.

Still, the bike was able to get there relatively quickly, and he parked the vehicle in his designated spot without much trouble. The engine was shut off and Kouta climbed off it, gesturing for Louise to follow him inside and then to the second level of the store itself where the cafe was.

"Anything you want in particular? I'll do my best to accommodate." Kouta asked with a smile on his face. He was just going to be his usual friendly self, if at the very least it'd be a change from how Miyuki treated her. In the end, it was just Kouta's big brother persona taking over...

Louise's ride over was spent in silence but not for a lack of trying. The loud buzzing noise of the Beat Chaser coupled with its incessant high-frequency vibration made for a difficult ride, one significantly more uncomfortable than the horse-riding she had thought it would be like. Even the Dragon--the Zero--was more comfortable than this 'motorcycle' thing, she thought. Sure, the fighter plane had more cramped quarters... but once it got airborne the ride was much smoother.

So by the time they were walking into this cafe, Louise was simply happy to be on firm ground. She walked unsteadily into the store and followed Kouta upstairs into the café without taking much of the surroundings in, only actually allowing herself to relax once she was safely in the comfort of a chair. "Anything is fine, thank you." A simple phrase in French, or rather the language from her homeland which just happened to be exactly the same as what was known as 'French' in this world.

While waiting to see what this man would bring she got a look at where exactly he'd taken her. It was bright, with large windows bringing in plenty of daylight. There was quite a lot of natural wood in the floors and furniture. If anything it looked like it could pass for any common café even where she was from. What made her smile despite herself was that the 'uniform' of those working here was of...maids. It reminded her of Scarron's restaurant. She would have to keep an eye out for any large burly men in a leotard.

The mere thought of that turned her smile into a little chuckle. Even in a situation that had her lost, confused and angry... she still at least found a chance to let a glimmer of happiness break the tension.

Well, in situations where anything was decent enough, Kouta decided to just go with what he would make when Shoko wanted to feel better about things. It helped that the dish was western so at the very least it should be to Louise's taste...he hoped anyway. Still, rather than add the difficulty of eating Japanese food to the confusion, he decided to try and figure out what would be the best for the situation. When it came to helping people...it was the one thing Kouta could at least be counted on for.

Still, once he got an idea, all that was to cook...then serve.

"Nice to see you smiling." Kouta began, setting a plate of what appeared to be Seafood Paella in front of Louise. An odd dish to be coming from someone of his inept appearance, and at the same time it at least looked passable. The other hand would also have a glass of iced tea ready and set that down too, before finally producing a spoon and fork from his apron.

"Figured you'd want something more than cake." he added with a chuckle of his own. Well, better something filling rather than junk for the most part.

"I can't help it. This isn't a bad place, it kind of... reminds me of home, a little," she answered honestly as the food was presented. Then her smile seemed to disappear. It didn't bend downward into a frown of distaste or anything like that, rather it turned into a neutral straight-lipped curiosity. This was a food she hadn't seen before; there were components she recognized--the rice and shrimp--but this particular mix and coloring was foreign to her. Why was the rice yellow? Why serve shrimp on top of it? ...Why was the rice yellow?

"Figured you'd want something more than cake," Kouta chuckled in French, apparently quite proud of whatever this dish was. Not wanting to insult either the man's hospitality or the customs of this strange world she took the utensils--at least they were the same as those she was used to using--and got a large heap of the rice-shrimp mix to take to her mouth. Pausing to briefly hope that it wasn't spicy nor sickeningly bitter the mound went in. It was chewed then swallowed. The result?

"...It's good. I never thought to mix these... what is in it?" she asked, immediately grabbing another mouthful and eating that too. She was really hungry so her taste buds weren't as picky as they may have been otherwise but there was no doubting it; Kouta's cooking was quite good. To be able to serve something unknown and have it be just to someone's taste was a skill not to be looked down upon. It was agreeable in both presentation and taste. A cook could ask for little more.

Kouta refrained from commenting that the cafe likely wouldn't feel so homey during the peak hours, as he would likely be parading around as his female persona in a random costume. Still, he was glad that Louise was calming down after everything that happened in such a short span of time. He felt partly responsible in a way, given his relationship with her captor.

"Beyond the shrimp there's some scallops and squid, and it's seasoned with saffron mainly." Kouta summarized the list of ingredients, didn't really need to explain every detail about it, as a lot of the things like the vegetable content were easy to spot and name. Though, he was glad that Louise actually liked it in the end, so that was another achievement for today.

With that, he took a seat and just observed Louise eat, he'd speak if addressed but didn't want to interrupt the meal as a whole. That, and he didn't want to spoil the mood right away by bringing up what she had been forced into.

"It's...quite good. Thank you," was all she said before going back to eating in silence. She didn't say anything more until the plate was empty save for a few grains of rice she didn't bother to scrape off of the edges. Placing her utensils down in their proper places and wiping her mouth she was now recovered enough to hold herself high with the proper aire of a noble even if doing so did sound rude. "Now, I believe you mentioned a cake? Why not bring it and we can see if your patisserie ability is of a similar calibre."

Though she said it with her nose in the air and eyes closed with indifference and self-importance, the little pauses between words were the little girl inside rebelling weakly against the chains of nobility. 'Yaaay~! Caaaake~! I want cake~!' it squealed silently.

"Ah but of course, what is a meal without dessert."

As aloof as he came off to be, Kouta could easily understand people due to his nature. To a point that it was relatively easy for him to see through the facade. Perhaps it was also the fact that he was occasionally a girl himself that he could easily see through people who exerted tsundere tendencies...so he couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he vanished back into the kitchen to retrieve the thing he was preparing beforehand.

He'd return with yet another interesting concoction...choosing to forgo a more normal cake, Kouta returned with something with a little more zest in mind. In stark contrast to the hot Paella, the cake was one that was being served a little cold: a simple layered cake with iced lemon curd.

Despite being Japanese, Kouta had traveled and experienced a lot, which is exactly why he would boast having two-thousand skills. While his cooking skills were definitely not a match for his significant others, the male had a much wider menu range, which allowed for a shock factor when he cooked. "I apologize if this isn't what you were expecting, but I thought it'd match you."

The food presented to her was certainly dessert-looking but Louise would hardly call it 'cake'. Cake was a food that was generally either presented in a triangular prism slice or a cylindrical cake. The frosting would cover the entire surface of the full cake, meaning the top and 'rear' side of the slice would likewise have a layer of frosting on them. This... 'cake' was round, small, a little yellowish and had frosting drizzled seemingly randomly over the edges. It looked more like a small stack of pancakes than it did a cake. Still, it looked sweet and sweets were sweets.

Without giving attention to Kouta's comment about it 'matching' her Louise took the fork and cut a piece out of the round cake, one that had as much frosting as she could get with only two cuts. The slice was brought to her mouth and eaten with no pause to smell it this time, resulting in her eyes going wide as soon as the concoction hit her tongue. She chewed it quickly and swallowed it, staring at the remaining cake in surprise. "It's... Lemon-flavored..." she said aloud, not sure whether it was the frosting or the yellow cake itself that held the flavor. In fact, now that she thought about it, there was a lot of yellow today. The shrimp-and-rice meal was yellow, the cake was yellow, even the plates were yellow.

While she was chewing the third bite, she had relaxed enough to remember what Kouta had said about the cake. A sour expression crossed her face as she swallowed the delicious--but lemony--cake down. "...What exactly about this... 'matches' me?"

"Well, the meaning behind the color yellow is usually bright and sunny...but also symbolizes wisdom." Kouta began, attempting to save the situation due to the sour expression Louise had on. "And lemons because it's small...and in a sense has a lot of personality." whether he was bullshitting or not was up to Louise, but Kouta himself was incapable of lying so the fact he was saying everything absolutely seriously.

"And last but not least...it's a color that is usually meant to give relief from stress and panic." Kouta concluded, smiling as usual and giving Louise a thumbs up to accent it. In a way, the odd choices ended up all mixing together in a rather weird way.

"I don't believe you," she replied flatly, but rather than assault him she returned to the cake and cut another bite to eat. It was a sign that while she said she didn't believe him--and in reality she would be right to think that--she herself wasn't sure. He sounded so sincere when he said it, not stopping for a moment or stuttering over his words. He didn't look worried. Basically, he didn't show any of Saito's trademark 'I'm-lying-through-my-teeth-please-don't-kill-me' traits. So while she wasn't sure about the explanation, she didn't trust her disbelief enough to hurt the person who had given her the cake.

And so the cake was gone. Dabbing her mouth with the napkin Louise took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The meal was wonderful, the atmosphere was relaxing and the company was...acceptable. Now, however, it was time to return to reality. "Thank you, Kouta. Now, then... what's going to happen to me? I imagine it won't be long before that woman figures out what happened."

"I wasn't expecting you to." Kouta laughed a bit, scratching the back of his head as Louise disapproved of his attempt of explaining the meaning behind his own words. Though, it seemed with that meal done Louise was ready to actually talk about what was going to happen next. To that Kouta remained calm, his smile turning into a serious look as he could at least read the air.

"I'll be taking responsibility for taking you away like this, that much is certain. You have done no wrong right now so at the very least I can take any punishment Miyu-... Ms. Takamachi has to dish out." If all else, Louise could say Kouta kidnapped her if need be, but he definitely wasn't going to let harm befall her right now. Granted Kouta already figured he can't use his relationship status as a playing card, hence the slip in how Miyuki was being referred to right now.

"I'll probably take you to the person she assigned you to after this, and I probably won't be able to help much from that point..." Kouta continued his explanation, though immediately followed up to make sure it didn't sound like he was abandoning her. "Because Otoha resides in a girls only dorm, you see." still, his serious look turned into a simple grin as he finished with a reassuring statement.

"If you ever need anything though, you know where to find me."

Louise stood and brushed herself off. It was a silly gesture since she didn't have any particular contaminants on her mantle anymore but she was used to at least pushing everything back into place after standing so the habit remained. "I am not one for waiting. If this is to be then let us get it over with. At least she had the decency to assign me to a girls' dormitory." Louise had to admit that now she was a little curious. She would be living in a girls' dorm so that would reduce the necessity of interacting with the opposite sex. Not that she had any particular problem with that but it did mean she wouldn't be running into Saito either.

Despite this being nowhere near a favorable outcome, Louise had to admit that she was curious as to what the near future of her life would bring. Who was this 'Otoha' person? What were dormitories here in Hyakuji like? What sort of people would be her roommates and neighbors? And possibly most importantly... how much longer before she could figure out a way out of this mess and go home with her Familiar in hand?

"Very well. Give me a second to clean up first and we'll be on our way." Kouta stated simply enough, taking the soiled plates and utensils into the kitchen. He'd be coming back later so he just left them in the sink and soaked them in water, before both he and Louise returned downstairs. It'd be a shorter bike ride than the trip here, thankfully enough...either way, they'd stop at Fudo dorm, where Otoha resided...
