...so not cute... "Then i'll take the lead from here.." He dropped down into the hole.... Well let's just say he did the 'Oliver thing' from there, either way it's all the same.. A figure shot up through the hole, bound and gagged and slammed into the ground. Oliver then jumped up a moment later, dusting his hands off with a somewhat malevolent smile. "We've reached an understanding ~" He said in a way that clearly meant the man had been threatened. Either way Oliver removed the gag. "uuuu!!!!" The man whimpered. "I get it!! I'll talk!!" Oliver flashed a smile to Mina. "We're close friends!" He turned the man, eyes glinting. "Right?" "R-r-right!" He said shakily. "So what happened to Siri Ho?" "She joined our group of labor activists in China. She sympathized with us. So in China she joined up with our movement. We agreed to kidnap her in order earn ransom money that would put her dad in a bad spot with his company as well as financing our operations.. But when we had her in our case she vanished. My comrades got scared and took the money and fled, but since then I lost contact with them. I called the family to tell them the truth because.. because.. well.. I kind of.. I loved Siri!" "ho ho, a bold declaration." Oliver said cheerfully. However his expression grew grim. "When you say your comrades went missing.." "They all left back to china, but left me behind because I'd called the family, and I refused to leave without Siri. I called the guys at the port in China and they still didn't arrive. It's only a two hour trip.. Something must have happened to them." Oliver furrowed his brow. "I see..." "There's one more thing.. She sent me a reply to the email asking for me to confirm the details for the operation. But we never communicate specifics over email. I didn't reply but it was odd. Not to mention her reply didn't have her cellphones signature. She always uses her cellular to email us.." Oliver's eyes widened in shock. "I.. see.." He stood up to his feet. "The email account was pulled up at home. We made the logical conclusion... what if someone else did as well? Siri's actions put focus on her father and took his money... If he emailed you guys after breaking into her email at home and finding that, then when he got nothing from you he had her tailed.." He turned to Mina and clenched his fists."Her father is the most likely suspect. Can you ask your father about her dad's current location?" |

Bingo, her first deduction was spot-on. Though she certainly didn't expect the father to be directly involved in this. Well, she sorta did, that's why she was so insistent about the father earlier. But she certainly did not expect him to be involved this way. It didn't show on her business face but she was certainly infuriated by it. She thought the father would at least bend because her daughter was supposedly 'kidnapped' but HE'S the one making things worse? "You can retell your story later at the station, but for now," The girl slipped her phone out from the inner pocket of her suit, flipping it open and pressing the speed dial that immediately connected to her father after two rings. "Mina?! Where are you, I've been worried-" "Do not mind me, I am simply taking a walk," She interrupted her father with a snap, immediately silencing him on the phone. That air of authority was ten times stronger than she had back then, especially when she now has a target. "Remind me where exactly is the father of Siri Ho heading at the moment? Do not question me," The girl added when she heard her father taking a breath, clearly with the intent to ask her what the hell is she up to now. Of course, he knew her better than anyone, she's her daughter... when the girl is bent on doing something she will do it no matter what the cost. As long as it doesn't cross the fine line that separates law-breaking and law-keeping. And when it comes to this... it's best to just let her do her thing. "...He's headed towards the airport. He said he's got a business to attend to back home," "I see. Thank you very much," The girl snapped her phone shut. "The airport. He is flying back to China. Come, we are to capture him before he makes his escape," The girl said as she briskly made her way outside of the warehouse- ... Goddammit the bike. Is there any other transportation method other than that death machine? The girl looked around nervously, stopping there in front of the warehouse door for a fairly long amount of time, the horrible truth that she had to ride the death machine again fell down hard on her. N-no! She has to endure it, she has a job to finish! The girl shook her head as she steeled her resolve, taking the helmet and strapping it on. |

He held out a hand helping her on. "I won't allow a beautiful woman to get hurt. Have a little faith in me." He said eagerly. He strapped his helmet on and sat down clutching the handles and hitting the throttle.. This ride was much different. Rather than wild and loose he played it much more by the book, pushing the speed to the limit but not taking so many risks. He'd had his fun but now was the time for business and that meant doing things as efficiently as possible. Ironically when he needed to get there faster he drove LESS wild. Either way in no time at all he pulled to a stop. He hopped up and grabbed Mina, helping her off quickly before ditching his helmet and keys with the valet and taking off in a full sprint. He rushed through and paused.. "Three flights leaving now...." He looked to the left, center and right. "I'll go down the central one, you take the left one or the right, i guess? We'll take our chances!" He tossed her the Stag Phone. "Hit 1, it'll dial me!" He said taking off. |

"Hmph, leaving a lady behind," The girl said, flipping the Stag Phone open as she watched him dart off towards the central port. "After all that pick-up attempt, what a worthless man," Hrm. Is it just me or was she actually a bit more unreserved in saying stuff behind people's back? "Oh, but... he's really not that bad, right?" Mina replied to herself, scratching her cheek as she took a few steps back from Mina. "I mean, sure, he's a bit of a flirt, but he's nice," The girl couldn't help but giggle. Looking at herself being so strict like that, she reminds her so much of how her mother was like when she was training under her. "I care not about him whatsoever," She gave an irritated sigh at herself. Damn, how can she be so nice like that... She reminds him of her father... "Well, whatever," The girl snapped the Stag Phone shut, slipping it into her pocket as she immediately sprinted towards the left port. "You will take the right side!" "Hai~" She answered with a strangely cheerful voice, waving her hand at herself and promptly made her way down the right side... ... ...Wait... if she just went to the right side... then who was... Uh... |

She'd call the others, but the Stag Phone was with the other Mina... So yeah. Act on her own? "Stop please, in the name of the law!" From the crowds and directed towards the single man in the line heading towards his flight came a somewhat high and determined voice of a girl, holding in front of her the home-made police badge and trying to make herself look intimidating. And failing badly. "You are wanted by the police, now please surrender quietly, or... or... or I'll call the police!" |

The man scoffed as he turned from her.. Meanwhile the police and airport security around her moved in around Mina. "Hey wait.. Let me see your credentials." They said, not really believing for a second that she was a real officer. Of course when they realized she wasn't a real cop the situation only escalated with them questioning her and then ranting about how she was in the wrong for claiming to be and how she was causing a scene, and then they began to inquire who her parents were and they continued to gather in larger and larger numbers.. However... "HEEEEEEELP!" A girl screamed. The girl was in shades and a large coat which she was now throwing off, revealing none other than Siri Ho. "Hah?! How did she slip away from you!?" Mr. Ho said turning to another man. However the man was standing his arm twisted behind his back and in severe pain. Though there was nothing behind him? This is pretty confusing let's explain it another way.. EARLIER: Oliver stopped at the terminal. "I'll go down the central one, you take the left one or the right, i guess? We'll take our chances!" Which at the time seemed like a perfectly true thing he was saying. Instead it was a CLEVER RUSE. He'd already said he knew her mother which meant he knew her powers. Splitting. Allowing Mina to take both routes would provide distraction. From the time and the place it was headed the only flight that made sense was the one leaving from the right terminal. He only CLAIMED to not know which one to allow Mina to cover both the others and to provide a distraction. While the officers were all watching Mina Oliver used his invisibility and snuck into the crowd, figuring out which one was Siri. Oliver then took the man whom was holding her in place and kicked his knee out before grabbing the man's arm and twisting it behind his back. Siri, noticing she was free, rushed over towards the police crying for help... Oliver released the man's arm as the police approached and carefully shook out the jacket pocket allowing his gun to fall into plain sight for the police to see. He then slipped back into the shadows, completely invisible and with no one the wiser, well except the crook who'd had his arm twisted 'by a ghost'. ~~~~ Of course by now Mina was being treated much differently. The police and security told everyone of how she'd caught the criminals single handed. Meanwhile Oliver approached from the direction of the other terminal trying to keep up the illusion of having actually gone that way, "Eh? You caught him without calling me...?" Oliver said as he placed his hands on his side. "Good work... Reality Breaker." |

Poor girl was actually overwhelmed by the sea of attention she was getting, the lack of her ability to make herself known as an authoritative figure was getting the better of her, as she was swept away in praises and awe, trying with futility to fight against the wave with small yelps and unheard "Ah-but... but it wasn't...! I didn't do any-!" She desperately attempted to clear the misunderstandings, ending up with a little more than just crossed-eyes and a headache. Speaking of headache... "O-Oliver!" The girl wrestled herself from the crowd, calling up to him as he emerged from where she supposed he had disappeared off to. The girl panted slightly as she approached him, her head spinning slightly and her vision slightly hazy. "Uh... have... have you seen... have you seen me... anywhere...?" It was a strange question alright. I mean... she's right here. Here. Right in front of him. What else was he supposed to answer? Of course, she doesn't know that he knows about her abilities. Not that it mattered. SMACK. A hard rap to the back of his head he got from the other Mina who seemed to appear out of nowhere right behind him. She too doesn't look very well, her head throbbing slightly in pain. "What are you playing at..." The other Mina whispered venomously at his face, grabbing his collar with her voice unnaturally cold and full of fury. "You knew... where he was... I did not pick up any sense of urgency... or surprise... It is like you had... everything... planned..." Despite how she wanted to get angry at him she was having a bit too much of a difficulty to even talk. The girl gave a pained sigh, before releasing him and dropping herself to the ground, clutching her head. "Nana!" Okay, so... that helps. There's two identical Mina... and apparently she calls the angry one Nana. "C-come on, we can't stay like this much longer..." She said with a tone of concern, getting to her knees next to Nana. "Yes... this will be dangerous in the long run..." She muttered without any argument, raising a hand in front of her. To which her other more cheerful self raised her own hand to meet with hers, and... And then there was one Mina, kneeling on the floor and massaging her throbbing head. It hadn't been long enough to cause a particularly lasting damage, but it was still quite an unpleasant experience. "Good grief..." Alright. Can we start making sense now? "...What is the big idea...?" She finally said after the pain subsided slightly, this time in her usual business-like voice. "You knew very well where he was, why did you not stop him yourself?" |

"Ahhhh..... You caught me.." Oliver said sheepishly. "It's so uncool when you try to do something for someone without them noticing and it gets noticed.." He said with a dejected sigh. He rubbed his neck as he looked away from her, a bit awkwardly. This really sucked! He thought he'd done well but there really was no beating a psychic! This was a lot like dealing with Jameson. Oliver LIKED being able to lie. Lying was one of his skills. As a secret agent his job was often to create a fictional series of events that replaced the real ones in people's eyes. He literally lied for a living, so people he couldn't lie to pissed him off. "I just thought.. you know.. if it looked like you did it.. maybe you'd be a bit more confident in yourself and others would respect you more." He said with a wry grin. "Sorry if I just pissed you off again.." He said, fully expecting that to be the case. It really did seem like all his usual tactics and strategies, all his comments and actions, they all seemed to fall flat on this girl. Maybe the real reason that Oliver hated girls like this was that they never let things work out exactly how he wanted them to. Whenever a girl could see through his little games and grins and smiles and confident expressions they'd always make him stumble or expose the part of him he didn't really want people looking at. When someone took such care to project a specific appearance it was frustrating when it failed to go like that person wanted.. Oh well, can't win them all. Edited by Cypriss, Feb 17 2012, 04:15 PM.

...Oh. Uh... Her eyes widened slightly at the apparently truthful answer, completely forgetting her headache from earlier. It... wasn't so much as being angry as she was surprised. I mean... why would he do that? It wouldn't benefit him in any way whatsoever as far as she could see it. And... well. She WOULD have been angry at him if she had discovered about it by herself, but instead he was the one who spilled the bean. Kind of like a preemptive attack or something. "I... see," Mina said in her usual business-like tone, though there was hesitance in her voice as though she was carefully picking her words. The girl turned to stare at the hands resting on her knees instead, somewhat avoiding his eyes. "...I appreciate it," There was a momentary awkward pause to let that three words sink, but she's not letting it go any more than that. She promptly got up to her feet, crushing the current atmosphere with her authoritative aura. "However, if you must know I am always confident of myself! So do not look down on me like that," The girl said snappily, arms folded and still avoiding looking at him. He will be mistaken if he thought he could charm her with that small bout of good deed! "The case is closed, we are leaving," With a tone of finality, the girl angrily made her way out of the airport, pushing through crowds and was just determined to get away from him as far as possible. But she stopped after taking a few steps. "...And the name is Mina. Call sign, "Xanadu". "Reality Breaker" is my mother. Do not mistake me for her next time," Next time? Does she expect to work with him more after this? Well, the girl's not giving him any chance to nitpick her sentence, as she rapidly stomped away and leaving him behind. |

Wait a minute... Was that a.. was it possible she was having... an actual emotion!? This was a shock! To think that this girl could react in a way other than a flat monotone and a snark. It was amazing! Maybe there was some hope left for her being somewhat cute after all! Maybe he'd been too quick to ju- Nope. She was right back to her usual self. He sighed heavily and looked away from her with a frown. Frankly, if he never had to work with her again then he wouldn't shed a single tear. The simple fact of the matter was that he was rather appreciative of his team having worked with an outsider. If all the people outside the WDA in the crime fighting business were as much of a pain as this girl then maybe he'd really formed a good team with the WDA.. At the very least he wasn't going to go out of his way to work with this annoying girl anymore... "Right right, Xanadu." He said dismissively as he wandered away from the girl, ready to go to bed and take an aspirin. Dealing with this sort of woman was too much trouble. Besides, with the case solved he'd finally have some money! Edited by Cypriss, Feb 18 2012, 10:44 AM.
