It was all hands on deck. The park had been sealed off for a missing kid. Of course that meant a bunch of officers were swarming the joint. Not exactly prime conditions for a detective, but then Oliver didn't have a whole lot of choice in the matter. Fact of things was that he had to play nice with the boys in blue if he wanted to get anything done in this job, and for the most part that was fine.

The simple truth of things was the boys in blue liked the WDA, they liked having help and they liked having someone outside the law to do what they couldn't. They even liked the WDA's efficiency and willingness to rush into danger and so things often went buttery smooth when working together. Not as smooth as cases where the WDA could work alone but still good.

Oliver tipped his trilby hat to the side as he wandered through the crowd. This time the WDA had been hired by the kids' parents. Wealthy people with a lot of power. Good friends for the WDA to have and good money for it to. This was considered high priority but since the police were already involved a large group wouldn't be necessary. Jameson was going it alone.

Teenage girl, taken from the park. No known enemies. A 'good' kid by all accounts. Stayed out of trouble. Never wandered the park alone at night. No reason to be there when she was taken..

That description stunk to high heaven of lies but Oliver tried not to pay it any mind. Clients always kept secrets. A good Dick only asked when he needed to. And Oliver had a good dick.

WAS a good dick.

Well, both.

"Who's the inspector on this case...?" Oliver said glancing around. "I need to know who is in charge so we can coordinate efforts.."

"Aah, that would be me!" A gruff voice responded to the call from the small crowd of policemen, and from between them appeared a rather burly looking man in a suit and dark brown coat. If he doesn't look intimidating then he certainly looked silly and aloof for an inspector.

"Oh, it's really good to have you here to help us again Mr. Willicott, I'm honored to have such a great detective here with us! Uh... can I have your autograph?" The man said with a somewhat cheery voice, immediately taking and shaking Oliver's hand at the sight of him. Well, we can at least determine one thing for sure about this inspector.

But before he could whip out his notebook for his autograph another voice interrupted him. This time it was a small feminine voice, but it was a voice that carried a tone of strictness and a no-nonsense vibe to it. With a little bit of exasperation.

"Dad, quit it. That is not Mr. Willicott. And we are here on a job, not to take autographs,"

Appearing from behind the large man was a much smaller girl. She wore a suit similar to the man was wearing, though she had made sure to don it neatly. No scruff, no folds, her sleek and straight brown hair reached down to her waist. The straight-backed posture she took and the sharp looking eyes gives off the aura of someone highly professional and serious, and not someone you would want to cross any time soon.

The inspector coughed nervously, backing off slightly from Oliver as he said to the girl, "Mina, I told you to stay at home... this is a police case,"

"And what kind of inspector would I be if I dare to leave a case without attending to it?" Mina said as he took out her wallet from within her coat, swiftly flipping it open to briefly show the home-made police badge before tucking it back where it belongs. "Mina 'Xanadu' Sumiregawa, Ace Inspector. ...And this is my dad," She added as an afterthought, and for some reason sounding rather disappointed at having to admit it. "And you must be Oliver Z. Winston. Pleasure to meet you," She should at least use a suitable tone when greeting someone like that... It sounded as though she expected less from Oliver than a pickled radish.

"Heh. I know all the inspectors on the force." Oliver said, turning to the man and bowing his head. "I'm not Jameson but you'll find i'm more than suitable for this task. It's a pleasure to meet you. Oliver Z. Winston, at your service."

Of course Oliver new this guy. Oafish and dimwitted, a terrible case record, and nothing about him that stood out. He was like Jameson if Jameson were also incompetent. Oliver felt as much disdain for the man as his daughter, it seemed.

Now his daughter... Nice figure, nice expression, nice chest. She was top grade. Her mother had been a famous investigator before and Oliver himself was even impressed by the lady. The apple didn't fall far from the tree it seemed, the daughter looked to be quite impressive, in a number of ways.

"May I call you Mina? Some might call it being forward, but I can't help but be a bit presumptuous with such an amazingly gorgeous individual right in front of me." Oliver said with a small smile towards the girl. "If someone of your caliber is here I will certainly eagerly anticipate your results~<3" He said flashing her another smile and a wink as he moved towards the crime scene.

"It matters not to me. However please refrain from such a behavior while we are at work. I wish to finish this as swiftly as possible," The girl said snappily, walking briskly past Oliver with her father following her not far behind. It was clear from the very look on her face that she does not want to deal with any sort of shenanigans, be it small or large, before this case is solved, and the missing kid was found. Honestly, kids these days. Laws are there to protect them, why can't they understand...

"I require briefing on the situation at hand," The girl said as she stopped on her track, glancing around the crime scene for anything that seemed out of the ordinary. "I rushed here from school mere moments ago. Dad?" She turned to her father for a little explanation, though it was probably a mistake as her father simply gave a long "Er...." as he scratched his cheek. To which she stared at him and sighed in disappointment before turning to Oliver instead. "Mr. Winston? Have you anything to say?"

"I was hired by the parents, but you can't really trust much of what a mother says about her kid." He said taking out his pocket notebook. "What we know for sure is a security camera saw a large man abducting a girl thirteen hours ago at 2 A.M. The daughter, Siri Ho is half Chinese and was visiting her father here. She comes from big money and her dad works in electronics. His company is extremely profitable in the manufacturing sector. They're in the business of cheap Chinese labor building things exported to Japan for final touches."

He flipped the page. "She's 17, extremely smart, and always places in the top of her class. Her family says they don't know of any reason for her to be here nor has she ever been in trouble or caused problems. That's probably a load of crap though, because parents always cover up for their kids faults.." He moved to the crime scene and crouched down. "The kidnapping was amateurish as best. Tracks leading to and from the scene of the crime, caught on camera, and the ransom letter only showed three hours ago. The lab is working the letter over for clues."

He then moved and picket up a single brown hair and handed it over to a cop. "Particulates and hair left in the crime scene also point to an amateur. Here's where things get interesting."

"Three hours ago the ransom showed up, two hours ago the family paid it. Still no daughter." Oliver said standing. "The mom gets a call from a mystery man on a blocked number. He tells her that the kidnappers don't HAVE the daughter then gets cut off.." Oliver said glancing to the clearing where she was. "Whatever happened It's something much deeper than how it appears.."

"The original kidnappers claim to be labor rights activists. People trying to get better conditions and pay in factories in China. Good intentions sure, but this isn't the way to get what you wish. Anyhow whether or not she is in their control finding what really is going on seems to start with them. We also need to get a clearer picture of what is going on with her. Why target her of all people? Why not the dad? And why WAS she here? It all smells fishy.."

"When I said I require briefing I meant a brief briefing, not a story that would bore people to death," Yeah, pretty much whatever he had said went over her head like the white clouds up above in the sky. So fat and so full of content, but no one pays them any attention. She seriously doesn't want to hear any of these conspiracy theories or whatever, all she wanted is to find the real culprit and bring them to justice. "And I told you, I wish to finish this as swiftly as possible," She repeated in the same snappy manner as before, as she snatched the notepad from Oliver and quickly scanned through the content.

"However it seemed to me that you have not even come close to determining who the real culprit is," Mina said, closing the notepad with a snap and shoving it back to its owner. "May I remind you that it is your job as a detective to find the culprit. Our job are merely apprehending them," The girl folded her arms, staring at him with the look of contempt in her eyes. "It matters not to me how famous of a detective you are. If you are incapable of doing your part, then you may as well step down from your position,"

It was probably the first time the two had actually met each other, despite how much they've actually heard of each other. Who would have thought the daughter of the "Reality Breaker" would be such an uptight and undesirable person to be around with? She seriously doesn't expect anything from Oliver at all, and she really does see him to be lower than a pickled radish.

That was it. The last bit of Oliver's patience snapped.

"Oh..?" Oliver said, his smile turned cold as he looked towards the girl, walking towards her slowly. "Is that the case? You're wondering about my competence..?" He said, his voice as cool as stone. He placed his hand on a tree, leaning in over her with a glare and a smug smirk. "Then tell me, how close are you to solving this case? Have you even started? Did you even know a single thing before I told it to you..?" He leaned in drawing close to her whispering into her ear. "Why don't you produce a result before getting arrogant, little girl."

He turned from her walking off with a scowl. Exactly the sort of woman he hated! Arrogant, cold, distant, rude, the sort like Chetri or Robyn that drove him crazy! That was it! He was going to solve this case before her or else he'd die trying!

These criminals better watch out... Oliver Winston is operating at 100% this time! He couldn't stand people that arrogantly looked down on him without even giving him a shot. More importantly uptight women like that were absolutely not fun! How dare she have a good body and waste it on that terrible personality! This really was just like Chetri!

No... maybe... maybe she was even worse?! Because she understood what she was doing as she was doing it.... Was it possible he disliked her even more?!

"Very well. It seemed to me that you are unreliable after all," And that's the conclusion she came up with. Not even the least bit perturbed by him showing his fangs the girl gave a sigh of defeat. "Come dad, we will take on this case," The girl said, walking away from the spot and motioning her father to follow him. How right she was in thinking that she couldn't rely on anyone. Her mother had always apprehended criminals, every single one of them, all by herself. If she's going to become just like her mother, then how can she be relying on others?

As much as she knows just how little she actually knows about the ways of investigation, the girl refuses to admit it. In her mind, she's the right one, and everyone around her are the wrong ones. "First order of business, let us pay a visit to the mother of the victim,"

Of course when she arrived she'd see a motorcycle out front.

Inside, once allowed in by the butlers. She'd find the entire staff and family surrounding Oliver. "And then I rushed down the hallway, tackling the man to the ground." Oliver said eagerly, and everyone of course reacted with extreme enthusiasm. Oliver glanced to the door and flashed a small smile. "Well, I must be going. I'm quite busy." Oliver said placing his hands on his hips as he winked towards the women with a devilish smile.

He had obviously been waiting for her to arrive.

He wandered over to Mina grinning confidently. "Just now arriving..? Can't the police do any better than that? But then radioing in and telling them where you're going.. Procedure sure is a bother, right?"

He turned walking towards the door. "I've got a few interesting leads. See what you can turn up." Oliver said as he pushed the doors open before pausing. "We really must be quick, you know? Time is of the essence. Being so slow... I must question your professionalism..." He said heading out.

The girl simply stared at him with narrowed eyes as he left through the door. What does he intend to achieve trying to outdo her like that... But what she's more worried about, was that the darn detective did not following the procedures! They are there to make sure things does not go out of hand when upholding the law. Such vigilantism, it ticks her off! The girl gave a huff of annoyance as she made her way towards the interior of the large house, meeting up with the people Oliver had just talked to.

"Mina 'Xanadu' Sumiregawa. Ace Investigator,"
The girl said in a business-ey tone, briefly flipping out her home-made badge. Well, it doesn't matter as long as you sound and act official, right? It's an added bonus that everything about her gives off the air of authority, despite not being a real police officer. Quite unlike her father who just looks like a goofball no matter what kind of clothes you put him in. "Forgive the endless intrusion, I understand that the detective may have questioned you enough. However we felt it was necessary to conduct the investigation in a more proper manner," She said in a tone that suggested neither urgency or laxness. The same cool and calculative tone she used whenever talking to anyone. "May I speak with the mother of the victim?"

"Yes of ocurse. The boy told me you'd be along eventually.." The woman said coming down the stairs.

She sat herself near her maids and sighed heavily. "My daughter was a good girl... She was never any trouble. She had a kind heart. I don't know why anyone would want to bother her.. Those terrible people must have been trying to get at my husband.."

"I... I know that he doesn't pay those people what he should, but if he paid them more then he'd loose his contracts and they would all get laid off.. even a low paying job is better than no job at all... These people are so cruel to blame my husband.."

"If that was the case then is it not obvious that your husband was the cause for everything to turn out this way in the first place?" She said bluntly in a completely indifferent tone, not even giving a thought of what the woman in front of her might say to her as a consequence. "Had he paid those people more they would not even come to think about kidnapping your daughter in the first place," Her words were sharp and unshielded, like arrows and knives and spears flying around and piercing the hearts of anyone involved.

"However," She said with a snap before anyone could say anything. "That is a completely different matter altogether," The cold accusatory tone from before somehow disappeared, to be replaced with her usual business-like demeanor. "At the moment, your daughter had been kidnapped. For now we are to find and rescue your daughter and bring the kidnappers to justice. While I do not approve of your husband's unfair method of performing his business, I will not turn a blind eye on those who broke the law,"

"For now..." Mina folded her arms, setting herself on one of the couches, crossing her leg and generally making herself feel at home. In a business-ey manner. "There are suspicions that there was a second kidnapping after the first one, done by a third party that may or may not have anything to do with his workers. Do you know of any particular people who may have anything against your husband?" If she was not wrong, then the second kidnapper may have something more personal against the man... whatever the kidnapper's reason was.

"My husband is a good man and I will not tolerate your insolent tone!" She said with anger. "The boy was much kinder... Much kinder by far!" She said with a huff. "Need I remind you I allowed you in?" She said annoyed. She huffed before turning her head. "My husband's character is impeccable and he never did anything wrong! He has no enemies!" She said with a harsh tone, obviously unwilling to talk.

"You may search my daughter's room and then you may leave!"

"Then do not mind if I do," With a prompt answer the girl rose from her seat, walking past the rest of the undoubtedly dignified occupants of the household, still with that cool and uncaring expression on her face despite having been yelled at just seconds ago. "And if you could refrain from comparing me with that vigilante, that would be much appreciated," One final sentence from the girl before she headed upstairs in search of the daughter's room. Wherever that is.

Of course, it may be that what the mother said was right. The father or anyone who knows him may not have a part in this after all. The second kidnapper did not ask for anything from the mother or the father. They did not demand for any ransom, or a threat, or... anything. All they did was inform that their daughter was not with the original kidnapper and that was all. If she were to take into account what the detective said earlier...

Searching the daughter's room may yield some leads.

Upstairs she'd fine a plain room, it was obvious the girl didn't live here. Oliver had mentioned she was here on holiday from China. The room was pretty barren except a computer, TV, clothes, and make up. Typical things for a girl. The computer was already turned on and a certain webpage was loaded up. Her email.
