At first the door failed to budge, but the seals on the door eventually gave way, allowing Kira to fully open it. At that, Natasha was seemingly no longer fearful and walked up next to Kira, staring at the contents of the closet with a mystified look. The contents being her phone, of course. And only her phone. There was nothing else within the closet that she could see. Natasha picked up her phone after looking around the mostly bare closet, then carefully held it with both of her hands. "Th——thank you for helping me find my phone, Kira," she said as she felt somewhat awkward. So it seemed that her roommate did indeed move away, without her or Maristol noticing at all. While it did seem most likely the case, it did not explain where the bed, drawers and desk had gone. Weren't they supposed to be property of the school, rather than personal belongings? But then again, there were seemingly many mysteries present about her old, mostly forgotten roommate, and there was more than likely no one to provide solid answers for them. "I————I'll see if I can call Maristol now," Natasha said as she quietly left the room with her phone in hand. As she made her way back to the dining room she dialed her roommate's phone number, then waited for her to pick up the phone. Just as she exited the hallway and approached the table, Natasha heard something rustle in the living room behind her. She turned around, then gasped just before she dropped her phone and covered her mouth so as to not scream—slouched down on the couch was a figure in a brown leather jacket and shorts, with a light brown paper bag over the head. Natasha was uncertain of what to do, and as to whether or not the person seated was hostile or not, so all she did in response was stare at the stranger as she remained frozen. |

Kira walked back into the living room a moment later and froze as he saw the person sitting there. He looked over to Natasha who seemed quite shocked. "Who are you, and why are you here?" Kira asked, looking for an answer from this mysterious person. |

Natasha glanced at Kira for a moment, unsure whether or not it was safe to communicate with the stranger. She quickly knelt down and picked up her phone with the intention to call the police, or at the very least, the front desk in the Fudo lobby room. "Eeeeeh? Whouazzat?" The figure seemingly stared off at both Kira and Natasha, and it was then that she realized that who the person was. The voice, the sunglasses that she could now see on what was supposedly his face: it was Santiago. "S—Santiago?" Natasha's fear had been replaced with concern, as the Argentine's speech was somewhat slurred, not to mention he was dressed oddly. "BAH. What is this, this Saaaaaaaaaantiago you speak—of——EH?" Santiago stood from the couch, revealing that he had some sort of bottle in hand. "I———am the RAGRIZ! Mighty warrior of Baries, the envy of low-lives!" He took a swig before continuing. "Passionate lover of la Rosa——<indeed, we were so very hot, hot hot hot,>—huuuuuur..." At that he fell back in the couch, resuming the slouched position he was in previously. Natasha glanced at Kira, then at Santiago once again. Every once in awhile she used to see a person or two get drunk back in her hometown, but never as bad as the state Santiago was seemingly in. "W-what should we do?" Natasha quietly asked Kira, so as to not be overheard by Santiago. "Should——should we leave him alone?" |

"Where do you get off getting drunk and sneaking into Natasha and Maristol's room? You scared her. Get out until you sober up, either that or we can call Maristol to come and deal with you." Kira was getting angry. Here we was trying to spend a day with Natasha, and things kept going wrong. The chocolates, her phone, and now the state of Santiago? This was getting ridiculous. |

"Maristol———Maristol's alive, Kestrel?!" Santiago faced the both of them once again, the drunken slur having gone from extreme to sudden sober-like sadness. "I see...I see...Rosa——didn't make it, but my girl was able to pull through..." It was then that Natasha noticed that there were was something trickling down Santiago's neck, though from where she was standing she couldn't tell what it was exactly. The fact that the Argentine had suddenly and dramatically changed his tone upon hearing Maristol's name, however, deeply struck her as immensely abnormal. Was Santiago actually drunk enough to be...sad? Why would he be sad? He was, after all, always seemingly smiling all the time... "W-wait, Kira, he's-" Santiago attempted to stand for a second time, but then he fell to the ground instead. "Hey, Mari, I———I—" The Argentine curled up into a fetus position as he hugged himself. Natasha looked down at her phone, and saw that the call had connected—it was then that she realized that Maristol was possibly listening in on what was going on. Without any hesitation she brought the phone up to her ear. "Maristol? Are you there? Maristol?" At first there was silence on the other end, then Natasha heard something rustle, which was followed with a click. The call had ended, but Natasha kept her phone up as she was surprised and confused by what she perceived to be Maristol's reaction. She tried calling her again, but immediately received a voicemail message instead. Natasha finally lowered her cellphone, then looked on at Santiago as he remained on the floor and mumbled to himself. "Couldn't protect her....couldn't save her.......pathetic.....just—pathetic..." |

Kira anger disappeared in an instant. Something was seriously wrong here. He called Maristol his girl... and who was Rosa...? He... He lost someone as well... All of the points where Santiago talked to him seriously about him and Natasha... it was starting to make sense. If he lost someone... With how much Kira said that he would protect Natasha from anything, everything he said would make sense. Kira sighed, kneeling down beside Santiago. "Hey, Santiago... what happened to you...? To Rosa? Can you tell me?" He asked, looking down at him. |

Santiago started to pet what seemed to be an imaginary object that was close to his head, with his hand curving in such a way as if he were petting a sphere—or the head of something. "Well.......you see, Mari.....Papa made someone made, and so that person came to hurt Papa.....but Papa wasn't home, so he went after Mama instead..." Santiago paused for a moment, as if he were hearing something. "No——no, that person thought he was doing the right thing. But you know, Mari—Papa will make him understand that he was wrong..." Natasha could not understand what Santiago was talking about, whether or not he was delirious and hallucinating or if he was recalling a painful memory. It was still nonetheless painful watching him seemingly suffer on the ground before her and Kira, and she felt seemingly powerless as she watched on. "It's a price one pays as a knight, to get what he wants as he continues to serve his king." The Argentine was now no longer curled up, but he still remained on the ground. He remained mostly silent after that, save for the slow, suckling breaths he took on the ground and the rustling of the paper bag as it inflated and deflated. The last statement strangely made Natasha feel strange, as if she were having another moment of deja vu. It was as if she had heard such a statement before, as it felt oddly familiar to her. Had someone made such a claim to her before? |

Kira just sighed, looking up at Natasha before standing and walking over to her. "I don't know whats going on but... it seems we are seeing something that has happened to him..." Kira looked back at him on the floor, "We should watch him until Maristol comes back, maybe she will know what to do with him... or for him." Kira sat down on one of the chairs in the dining room with a sigh. |

"O——okay," Natasha replied before she too seated herself, taking a seat that was next to Kira. While she was not favorable of some of the Argentine's past, seemingly rash actions, Natasha couldn't help but remain concerned for Santiago. Even if he wasn't nice at times she hoped that his mood would improve soon, so he could enjoy the gift Maristol made for him. The thought of the gift brought Natasha on to wonder why Santiago had gone strange on the current date, Valentine's Day. Was it because he was lonely? Was it because he had a bad history with the particular day? Or was it something deeper, something that ultimately could not be understood from her own perspective? Natasha's trail of thought was interrupted as she heard footsteps, then saw Maristol enter. For a moment she could see that there was concern on her roommate's face for a moment, then watched her back as she spotted Santiago and went off to talk to him. Part of Natasha wanted to walk up and ask what was going on, but ultimately she was aware that doing so would mean that she would be prying into private matters. So she remained seated where she was, despite her worry, and watched as Maristol knelt over her cousin. There was tension in the air as the two quietly discussed, and they continued doing so for a solid minute. Just as it seemed that things appeared to be settling, Natasha saw Maristol slap Santiago on the head, then watched dumbfounded as she picked up his bottle and approached the table. She was even more surprised to see that Maristol didn't appear to be affected by her cousin's condition. "W——why did you do that?" Natasha inquired her roommate. There was no immediate response, but Natasha noticed that Maristol was holding a bottle of....rootbeer. "I'm sorry if Tiago made you upset~" The bottle made its way onto the table, at which point Natasha felt a stronger urge to ask what was going on. "Is——is everything alright?" "Him? He's fine, he's fine—this doesn't happen a lot, but it looks like he had too much sugar." "Too much——sugar?" Natasha couldn't see how having too much sugar would throw Santiago off into such a mood—in fact, she thought it would do the complete opposite. "He was probably talking like a drunk, wasn't he? It's like a mood swing—that's why I made some specialized treats for him today~" From Maristol's tone Natasha's concern and tension started to soften up, as it seemed as if things were starting to look better compared to the previous atmosphere. "Th-that reminds me———about—about your gift-" Natasha looked over at the two gifts, then gently slid them over to show them to Maristol. "They—they look the same..." "Oh? That's strange—I'm sure I put a label on mine." Natasha watched Maristol examine the gifts with a concentrated look. "I'm sorry—I can't tell~" At that Natasha cast a crestfallen expression, as she had hoped that her roommate would have been able to discern which gift was which. |

"Maristol... who... who did he lose?" Kira asked seriously. It seemed a rather silly thing to ask, but this all felt familiar... the loss of a loved one... "He mentioned Rosa... and was saying that he had a daughter named Maristol." Kira said, piecing together what he had heard. He was curious given what he had been through. |

Natasha glanced at Kira as he presented his questions, then look at Maristol to see if she would reply. For a moment she thought she saw her roommate's eyes soften, but her sudden giggle surprised her. "Lose? It sounds like he was being delirious, Kira, just like when people have high fevers. Sorry if you were concerned due to that~" "Delirious..." Certainly, it did appear that Santiago was not right in his mind—it was somewhat absurd picturing Santiago as Maristol's father, or just him as a father in general. But just who was 'Rosa'? Was it someone Santiago and Maristol knew, or was it just a fabrication of Santiago's apparent delirium? Her thought was interrupted as she noticed Maristol leaning over the table towards the gifts. "Now then, I have a little suggestion for those two, but you might not like it, Natasha~" "A—a suggestion?" Natasha replied before she glanced back down at the gifts again. "Perhaps—if it's alright with you two—we should open both of them." Unsure of how to reply, as ultimately her gift was meant for Kira, Natasha looked at Kira and waited to hear what he thought about the offer. Of course she wanted Kira to be the one to open his gift, to spend a moment with him alone as she did so, but in the end what she wanted more was for him to have his gift. |

Kira could tell something was wrong. Maristol played it off like it was nothing but it seemed... off regardless. When Maristol changed the subject, it seemed like she was getting away from it... well, he could come back to that later. When Maristol made her suggestion, he looked at Natasha as Natasha looked at him. He could tell what she was thinking. "That's fine... but how about you and Natasha check them... I'm going to just step out for a moment, I need some air." Kira said, giving Natasha the opportunity to let him still receive a sealed gift. With that he started towards the door to the dorm. He would just stand outside the door for a few minutes... seeing Santiago like that... it was too familiar to him... it got Rose on his mind... and on a day like today. |

"You like air?" Crouched down beside Kira was Santiago, who had apparently sneaked out into the hallway after him without anyone noticing right away. He had his arms folded with his head hanging low, as if he were deep in thought. "I like air too. Air is nice—no matter what it smells or tastes like, we still take it anyway. Did you know that you'll DIE without air? It's almost scary if you think about it..." The Argentine giggled, clearly indicating that his mood had gone from sorrow to giddiness. "Speaking of dying, did you know that bullets can actually KILL people? I mean, who'd have ever thought that a small bit of lead could take out even the most bad-ass assholes out there? And people usually die when they are killed." Santiago tilted his head as he looked up at Kira, placing his hands on his knees as he did so. "You know——I once got hit by a bullet, right in the face. Funny thing is, no one could remember what caliber the thing was because, you know, I blew up right after that. And did I die? HAH! As if that would've happen! I was killed, but I didn't die like some two-bit loser, 'cause—you know—I'm the goddamn Ragriz." At that, Santiago started to pan his hands over the floor, as if he was looking for something he had dropped. "Gaaawd dammit, where's my beer," he mumbled to himself, unaware that the bottle he had previously held had been extracted from him. "Let's just open one, shall we~?" Natasha slowly nodded to her roommate in response before she returned her attention to the two gifts. It was difficult for her to chose which one to open, even though she was aware of the fact that re-wrapping the gift would follow soon after opening it. She took her moment to look over the gifts, then finally picked the one that was to her left. "Are——are you sure?" Natasha asked Maristol as she held the gift. After seeing her roommate nod in approval, she went on ahead and gently opened the package. The lid of the box almost immediately popped off as a result, exposing the grey matter and works of wires that had been placed within. Natasha wondered what sort of 'gift' was before her, but at the very least she was aware that she had opened Maristol's gift. She looked up to see that roommate had unseated herself, at which she handed over the box and its contents. "Looks like you found mine~" "Y—yes...I'm sorry that it had to be opened." "Like I said, it's alright~" With their small crisis seemingly finished with, Natasha stood from her seat and looked on at the entrance where Kira had gone. "I-I'll go get Kira then," she said before she went on to bring Kira back in, failing to notice that Santiago was absent from his place on the living room floor. |

Kira just stood there seemingly being harassed by Santiago. Maybe he was just overreacting to him... he certainly seemed fine now. As the door opened Kira turned to see Natasha standing there, "Ah, you managed okay?" He asked heading back into the room now, leaving Santiago to fumble around. |

"Y—yes," Natasha replied to Kira. She then noticed that Santiago was on the ground next to her, spinning on his own back while mumbling nonsense, and almost jumped in fright upon reflex. Unaware that he was being completely ignored, Santiago continued on with his seemingly senseless rambling. "I like you, muchacho, and I mean that from a retrospective view of the past few seconds we have been debating about the moral values of metaphysics and how the world could be united under the iron fist of provocative armadillos. You're quiet, which reminds me of me when I used to be me before me was turned into a different me because of the consequences developed and inherited by——me." Natasha glanced at Kira for a moment as he passed by into the dorm, then momentarily glanced down at Santiago. It was clear that leaving him out in the hallway would potentially get everyone in trouble, and all it would have took for that to happen would have been a complaint or two to prompt an investigation by a hall monitor. "U—um, Santiago—" She paused as the Argentine ceased his spinning and intently focused on her. "—M—Maristol has a gift for you—" "Ooooooooooooooo.." Santiago edged closer to Natasha, who in return immediately took a few steps back into her dorm. "I lllllllike gifts. Gifts are fun and nice—full of happiness...and kittens..." The Argentine crawled past Natasha and back into the dorm, where he migrated back to the spot in the living room where he had been fussing about at beforehand. Natasha closed the door behind her as she re-entered the dorm, then approached the dining room where Maristol had already re-wrapped her gift. "I'll take care of him from here~" As she remained silent Natasha watched as her roommate lifted Santiago up from the floor by the shoulder and led him out of the dorm, almost disappearing just as suddenly as she had appeared. There was a lingering tension in the air for Natasha as she had yet to fully recover from what she had seen, yet she was still able to take hold of the gift she had finally managed to isolate. After some hesitation Natasha walked up rather close to Kira, gift in hand, and carefully presented the gift. Within the small box would be the chocolate she had made—it was not as exquisite as the expensive chocolate she had seen displayed at stores, but rather plain in appearance as partially large squares, and only numbered at four in total. Rather than being as sweet as milk chocolate, the chocolate she had made was more similar to that of dark chocolate. And yet despite knowing what and to whom she was going to present, Natasha did so nervously with a certain extent of anxiety. |
