Late afternoon. It is a normal time of the day, where everyone is buzzing around rushing from this place to that place, and from this job to that task. The ones who are at school moves to extra curricular activities. The ones who are at work are ready to get off, or are already off and ready to go home. It is, indeed, one of those busier time during the day. Except for the cemetery. This is the time of the day that is odd for anyone to actually visit- especially since this is just an ordinary day. Even the guard outside of the cemetery reflects that- he has been yawning and napping for the past two hours. What else is he going to do, except for slacking? After all, it is not one of those special days where people just come in and pay visit to their ancestors. However, there is a dark figure at the deeper parts of the cemetery, where the Ruins of the Black Spire is laid. The dark figure is tiny, quiet, and unmoved. All she is doing, is sitting under a tree at one side of the benches in the central memorial area. All it does for the entire time it was here, was merely gazing at the spire, as if hoping that something would suddenly appear and talk to her. And yet, there is no such thing, despite her being here for quite a long time- in fact, ever since Hyakuji High School has let out. If one is to approach the figure, they'd notice that she is a in fact a tiny girl, flesh and blood, who is dressed in an all black, gothic-lolita style dress. There is, of course, a huge mismatch between the girl's clothing and the age that she is in, but, for some reason, her outfit, her tiny figure, and the shaded center seems to have blended perfectly with each other, as if they have created to belong with each other to from the very beginning. This is good and all, but why is a girl of her age- looking at most 12- here in the cemetery in the first place? |

A young man with long white appeared in the cemetery, a small bundle of flowers in his hands. He was standing in front of a small simple monument, nothing super elaborate but something respectful. It had been years since the people who were named on the memorial were dead, and no bodies were at rest here. There had never been anything left to bury, in the end. Instead the young man looked up at the monument, the closest thing he could ever have made to a grave for them. He looked upon the inscription with his blue eyes, a stark contrast from the eternal red that they always knew, before he learned to control his powers, as he placed the flowers down on the 'grave' Mihael Ark and Akane Ark. Loving parents. "I hope I'm doing you both proud." The student of shadows said, as if to them, before standing up. If there was one thing that Cthulhu had done, it was force Damon to really look at his past and finally put it behind him. He still had to give Kaede his watch. As a sign of trust, a sign of moving forward. He stood back up, a small smile on his face, when he suddenly felt something...Wrong. Standing back up, and looking around, his eyes changed from the blue color they tended to be to the red color that tied him to the darkness. Something....Dark was here. This was something similar to Kage. Something similar to the Aeons. Similar but not the same. And it was close. Something like that probably shouldn't have been in the graveyard. Although he was the first to defend darkness, he was also aware that it was more than likely to end up in some bad situations. He began to move towards the source, the center of the graveyard, the black spire...and there was a girl there, dressed rather....strangely. It seemed...out of date? Out of place? It was fitting for a funeral, but it did not look like there was one in the graveyard today...And it didn't help that this girl appeared to be, like, 12. Was she lost? And why was she giving off a dark aura? The air around her...it hummed with dark power of some kind... "...Pardon me. Are you lost?" Damon asked, on edge. There was just....Something WRONG with all this. Wasn't this how a few horror movies started? |

Yuri Yamazaki was here for a reason. It was no other reason. She was here to wait, to anticipate something to happen. She was here to expect the return of the alchemist. Illist Fray. A name that she recalls, that she regarded as the origin of the loss her ability to sense, understand, and expresses her feelings and emotions. She was waiting here for a while, now, all in the mere wish that the man who was responsible for rendering her at this stage to come back, and fix her flawed body up. Like what an engineer would do to a robot. Or what she would expect that the people who created Atllene would do if Altlene ever have any issues with her. Logically, if she is a machine, this may be all the easier to fix. Alas, she isn't. And there is only a scarce amount of people who knows how to fix her problem- Illist Fray being the only one she knows. Maybe she would be asking a little too much, it seems. For Illist Fray has not appeared ever since the day he extracted and reinserted her memories into her body. It was the contribution of Zodiac, and Osiris Solomon, that Yuri is able to still call herself a "human" right now- with a half of her human-ness, her memories, intact. But then, she has been having her own dilemma in this world to deal with, too. For one, she cannot understand the attachment that her life-savior has over the woman named Tsubame Hoshino. For two, she doesn't understand the inexplicable feeling she has when she sees Altlene not giving off her usual facial expression. While she couldn't say she mind either way for the first, the second makes her suffocate physically, that she feel she must understand no matter what. This is part of what it means to be Altlene's owner, too, to be able to understand her own perception of Altlene. But no. Now that she knows she has half of her missing, possibly forever, she needs to find a way to retrieve it. Or she would never understand anything. … What more can she lose, though? The mere thought of that makes her feel hollow inside. "…Pardon me. Are you lost?" It was then that a voice reached out to her. An unfamiliar voice. The girl looks up, and recognizes that there is a white-haired young man standing in front of him. Despite his words bearing that of the meaning of what people usually say when they reach out to her, something about him is slightly different from the others. There is a disharmony within his body language- the way he stand, his facial expression, and the unsettled sapphire blue eyes. Yuri merely stares at Damon with her own blank, hollowed eyes for a few seconds, before lowering her gaze again. "… No. I like it here. It calms me down." Words of lies flow out of her mouth, and dances in the spring wind- the devilish words of deception and trickery that she uses as a weapon to protect herself and camouflage herself with. She remember hated lying. Right now, though? She felt nothing inside, even when she say things that hides herself. And, the sad part is? She doesn't even feel guilty or ashamed of herself, in any way, sort or form. Or the fact that she feels sad about anything at all. |

...This was just...creepy. The girl turned to face him, her eyes devoid of...anything. It was as if she weren't really there, but rather was but a walking shell, or something. And her words...Not only was the idea of a graveyard being comforting really bizarre, but the way she said it didn't help any. "Are....you...sure?" He asked, his words filled with confusion he asked, tilting his head. "Where are your parents?" He asked this time with some concern, really hoping the girl was just lost or something. Then again considering Hyakuji and her claimed preference for graveyards, he couldn't exactly dismiss the possibility they weren't here anymore. And again, the girl looked fairly young. Not Kage-young but still. And again, there was this aura. His red eyes became a bit more pronounced as he began to look at the aura the girl was emitting... Is something there? He 'thought' out, just as he did when he tried to 'speak' with Kage privately. He really wished his senses were more honed. He could always transform, with a bit of time, but he didn't like doing that unless absolutely needed, and his elemental form was already pretty creepy. The last thing he wanted to do was scare a girl in a graveyard, especially one who, albiet was kinda creepy, seemed to be....just...off. Did she need help or something? |

This man... He doesn't seem to want to leave her alone, does it? Not that she mind company, but this company seem to overly uncomfortable around her. To make things worse, her intuition-which she has recently been relying on intensively- is telling her that this man has some sort of agenda unknown to her. It is as if he is out to try and find out something about her. But then, again, fearing the unknown and finding out about the unknown seem to be something of human nature. The girl slightly tilts her head. What, though, makes him so irked about her? The girl thought, and re-thought, and realized something. Right, facial expressions. But what kind? "I am sure I am fine, sir," The girl says. "My parents are at work right now." She turns and looks at Damon again, her eyes now starts to have some substance within, "And you, sir?" Her lips slowly curl into a small smirk, a smirk that she learned from the woman that her boss is so involved with. A small, devious little smirk. As for the tiny call out that Damon makes to the possible shadow or elemental? It was left unanswered. Edited by Sybilus, Feb 13 2012, 12:04 AM.

Damon relaxed a bit...Maybe the girl was just really odd with her places of interest. Considering how Hyakuji was, well, that couldn't be too odd, all things considered. Heck, Coryn enjoyed graveyards, god rest his soul. Maybe this girl was just like him. And the lack of response to his call kind of indicated that maybe it was just something related to her powers, maybe... But then came her comment and smirk. Something about that smirk was really familiar...and the way she asked that question...It didn't exactly help. He was more relaxed than he was before, but that smirk...It brought back some of it. "Ah...Well...I guess you could say I was just visiting them." He said, as he looked back to the grave. "I just sensed something strange over here, and wanted to make sure nothing bad was going on." he said, before looking about to see if maybe he was looking for the wrong thing. Maybe the dark aura wasn't coming from the girl, but from just something in the area. "It all seems peaceful though, I guess. Maybe just another false alarm..." He said, before shrugging. "Or maybe whatever it was is just something passive or harmless. All the better, I'm glad to not deal with aggressive things. I don't want to disturb the dead." He said, grateful for that. But still...was there anything else...or was this strange darkness coming from the girl after all? |

Yuri looks towards the general direction that Damon was looking at, and recognized what he was meaning when he said he was just visiting. So someone close to him has passed away, and he was paying that person a visit, eh. Yuri nods at that confirmation. There is no other explanation. However, the next sentence that the man has said sets off an unsettling feeling in the girl. What does he mean…. "sensed something strange"? Is there something that she is doing, unknowingly, sets off an alert in the white-haired gentleman here? Or is it simple his imagination? Regardless, this can be potentially threatening, as it can become rather bothersome if yet another person finds out about her secret. But what is she to do, under a logical circumstance, to dismiss the feeling that was in Damon's brain? "I am sure you are just imagining it." With her smile cooled down- since she is no longer concentrating as much effort into making it happen- the girl says. Only to have the sentence immediately followed by Damon's own comment about how it was a false alarm. The unsettling feeling dismissed itself just as quickly as it came, and another sort of uncomfortable feeling found its way into her- All because of the comment that Damon has added. "Why would the dead be disturbed if they are dead already?" Completely emotionless, cold, and almost remorselessly blunt, the girl comments. Why would someone care for the dead, despite them being gone already? After all, the dead doesn't feel emotions. They don't have feelings, nor would they even have the knowledge of or remember the fact that they were, indeed, disturbed. In a way, similar to how she feels right now. Yes, she won't even feel a thing if she was disturbed by Damon right now. Well, she will remember that Damon has come and talked to her, but that's only because of the muse. If she takes it out, then all is rendered back into nothingness. As for how she feels? No, she felt nothing, really. |

Damon chuckled softly at her comment at the dead not caring. Or rather, at the idea of them caring. "Haaah, It's not that simple. The dead do care. Or, that's what my cousin said. He used to see, speak, and interact with the dead. Even if we can't see them, even if they've passed onto the afterlife, they care." He said, with a small smile. That reminded him...he did need to set something up in Ireland for his cousin and aunt...They were his closest family for the longest time. "They don't take it kindly when you're mean, either. A ghost tried to possess my cousin once. Did not end well. Be more mindful, I don't think you want the same to happen to you." He said, before turning to walk away. "My apologies for bothering you. Be mindful, and enjoy your day." He said, still worried about the sensation from before, but it all seemed to be alright.... |

For some reason, hearing the comment of the dead caring does not really make Yuri feel any better than she is right now. Instead, it makes her feel, well, just a little worse. For one, she felt as if he was implying that she is worse than the dead, which really doesn't make her feel any more comfortable about herself. So she is even worse than the dead, now. She has always thought that she was more like a walking dead than a human. Now, she isn't even a walking dead. She isn't a robot, either, for she can still bleed and get hurt, and she still falls from cold. What does this make her, then? Zombie? But Zombie is an undead. What does it make her? Secondly, the whole idea of talking to the dead is just fundamentally irrational. … But then again, all the things that has happened around her, and in this town that she is in, has been rather irrational and illogical for the long, long time. So there isn't much to help that, either. There is something, however, among all the things that he says, that raises an interest in Yuri. "Possess… Is that when you lose consciousness to something or someone else, and end up at places that you don't remember going, or end up doing things that you don't remember doing?" The girl stands up and raises her voice, as Damon has taken his leave from her. Her voice is still flat and emotionless, but her tone and pitch has a slight bit of interest in it. Does this man knows how it feels to be possessed? It has never occurred to Yuri before, that her other, more minor, issue may be a result of possession. After all, given all of those weird supernatural studies that she has studied, nobody really talked in depth about ghost or spiritual possession before. But now that this man has mentioned something, suddenly the dots are connected. Maybe this is, after all, the reason why. Yet another thing of absurdity that happened. |

Damon stopped as the girl spoke up again, questioning him on what possession was. Or rather, she was defining it even more. The way she said it was a bit different from before, and her exact way of defining it...maybe...maybe he wasn't wrong in the end after all? Maybe he really had been sensing after all. "Well...More or less, yes." He said, turning around, an eyebrow raised. "That's pretty much the textbook definition." He said, a small frown on his face forming. "Why do you ask?" He asked, some concern in his words. But not the typical concern of the self. This was empathetic. Did this girl....The dark aura....her sudden reaction to the word possession...the dark graveyard... ...Something like this sort of situation had happened once before in Damon's past. If something like that had happened here...he had to help. |

"... Oh." Yuri says with apathy, and sits back down. However, if Damon can tell, the movement of the girl is rather weak in comparison to what she has expressed earlier. So after all, maybe the girl does have some sort of emotional attachment to what she recognize and understand? To the girl, however, this possibility is nowhere near something she wishes to hear. Instead, she felt as if all of her energy has been drained from her body and banished into the ground. She let her body fall backwards, and back onto the bench. Suddenly, she feels as if she doesn't want to do anything, or to think about anything anymore. So, on top of all the other things she has to worry about, she may have something that is possessing her. Well that's great. That would explain how Altlene has gotten some sort of information about her being out late at the night, too. She closes her eyes. This is... bothersome. ".... I have experienced something like that before," The girl begins, her voice apparently- though she was not even conscious of it- much weaker than before, "Not once, not twice, but several times now." She closes her eyes, and thinks for a little bit. What is the best way to explain this, without giving out too much information? "Basically, I lose track of my thought and actions from time to time, and by the time I can think again, things have already been said and done without my knowledge- things that I know for a fact I wouldn't have said or done." ... Yeah, this is probably the most basic way of stating this issue of hers. After all, he need not know about her other condition too- that may become a dilemma all in its own. |

...Oh.....hell. The girl sat down, explaining her situation, Damon's frown deepening. This...was not good. She had random blackouts? No idea of where she was or what she was doing? Doing things she'd never have said or done. "I...see." Damon said, putting a hand up to his chin as he tried to think. So this girl might have been possessed, and there was some dark aura permeating her, something tied to nature. This was starting to sound like a genuine case of possession, and if this aura was indication, it was by something of HIS element. Humans being possessed by elemental beings wasn't unheard of, a few years ago he'd fought against such a thing. The issue was, what to do now? He had zero clues on how to handle possessions. Coryn was the necromancer. Kaede probably knew a bit too, considering she was a miko. Damon's skills lied purely in the elements. He could always try to assert his will over the darkness that was affecting her, but if he did it wrong...There was no telling what could happen. "When did this start? Was there anything....dark there?" He asked, before explaining his reasoning. "Because there seems to be an....aura of darkness around you. Not evil, mind you. Just something pertaining to the night and the shadows." He continued, immediately throwing that in the prevent any possible panic, though the girl was taking this possession thing with minimal emotion, save for....extreme exhaustion it almost seemed like. "At first I thought maybe you had some powers, but now...." There was a bit of worry. Damon had found himself into another bad situation. And he knew he couldn't just walk away. He had to try to help. That was who he was. |

The girl quietly raises her head and stares at Damon as she listens on, and takes note on whatever Damon was saying, the dark…..ness…. Not… good, her consciousness is slip…ping away a….aga…in. W…why? By the time Damon mentions the words "night and shadow", the consciousness of the original Yuri has already completely fade away. Instead, what is in place, instead, is a pair of eye filled with bother-line-arrogance pride, disapproval, and life. "… It'd be a bother if you say anything further, sir," With a great frown on the girl's face, she says, in the same voice that was speaking with Damon earlier on. However, the tone is so much more different, that one can tell immediately that somehow the gears within the girl has shifted- the personality, over all. Yuri is possessed. The hypothesis is further confirmed, as the girl's body language switches as well- she is now loosening up, and becoming more boyish in the way she conduct herself. She is starting to sit with her legs slightly more parted, and her hands, originally placed on her laps, are now placed on the bench instead- she is shifting into sitting more like what one would expect from, say, a lord from ancient Japan. Well, at least, now Damon gets to talk to the shadow in question- the shadow and darkness that he feels is probably much more prominent now. "I wanted no unnecessary conflict. I have even tried to avoid you already. What more do you want?" She says again, referring to the call-out that Damon has made. |

Oh this was bad. This was very, VERY bad. Her tone, her body language, her aura, everything changed in what seemed like an instant, and he was being spoken to by this being of darkness. Damon's body language shifted in kind, his stance becoming more defensive, just in case it tried something. It even referred to his questioning earlier via his elemental abilities. This was not something someone could pretend to do. "I have no idea who or what you are, but I'll make this quick. I don't care the reasoning, you leave the girl alone. Leave her completely." He said, his tone authoritative. "I don't care the reasoning, but possessing someone without their consent or knowledge is wrong." |

If there is one reaction that the shadowmancer has received from the girl- or more correctly, the spirit inside the girl- is a rather scoffed "Hmph" noise. Instead of complying with what the shadowmancer said, all the girl did was shift a little, to sit forward, and to stare at Damon with a bit more seriousness in her eyes than before. "*I have met quite some people before, but thou art probably one of the most arrogant ones that I have seen for a while, The girl comments, not one bit hint of tease in her eyes. "I thought such blown-up pride and ignorance only ever presents itself in some prestiene and nobility omnyoujis, but apparently the ills of omnyouji personalities have already widespread into the general mass of people in this age." She continues, hintly clearly that she has been alive for well longer than what one would classify as "modern era". "Hath thou considered what'd happen to her, or to myself, if I leave this girl," the spirits says as Yuri's finger point towards her own nose, "right here, right now?" Bringing her finger down, and crosses her arms over her chest, the girl continues, "Hint, it is her power and history." The girl then proceeds to tilt her head, and thinks out loud, "But of course you won't, for you know little to nothing about her. You and several other thousands of omnyoujis, who see differences of goods and evils in your own kind but no difference between spirits." ... This is not something that she was thinking about to bring up, but for some reason, the attitude that this man has used was really getting on her nerve. It may have been linked to something that she has since forgotten after she was sealed in the scroll, but this is still irritating nonetheless. No, she feels no urge to kill, or to harm, nor does she have the power in her to do such a thing. It is merely a slight spiteful and vengeful attitude that she is displaying, based solely on the irritation that she feels within her right now. "Alas, t'is all in the past. I did not appear to argue, either. I will just stress this once more. Leave me and her alone, and let her not know of the world of spirits." It would seem that she has her own things to worry, and her own reasons to remain hiding. But why would she act right now, if she intended to hide? *Please note that the japanese word used by the spirit was Ore, which is a rather arrogant, male way of referring to oneself. Please also note that the way that he speaks is in a rather strange, modern-traditional japanese speaking way, as indicated by the old english. |
