Rookie Fight

The fight with Star didn't go as planned, having her suit being cut open not being part of the plan either. Valentine was slowly walking back to her dorm, a little blood trail coming from the battle area where she had gone. She left the fight after it was finished without letting anyone know, seeing her this way would be a huge blow to her pride. She eventually made it in the building, heading and calling for an elevator to the fourth floor. She leaned against the wall of the elevator as it went up, the number four button being covered in her blood.

She continued with the blood trail onto the fourth floor, holding her side where she had been cut the deepest and making her way to her room. After a few moments of scraping the walls of the hallway, leaving a bit of blood on the walls as she went, she made it to her door and pulled out the key. She fumbled a bit to get it in, finally opening it and pushing the door open. She slowly walked in, attempting to close the door behind her but it was left ajar.

Valentine fell to her knees and made her way to her bag where she had her standalone breathing mask, putting it on and breathing the oxygen that she required. She lied on her back, grabbing at one of her nearby shirts on the ground and pressed it onto her wound, grunting a bit as she applied pressure. "I can not believe this," she thought to herself, "I have never been this injured before, even when I was on the satellite planet with all those damn plants."

Star didn't need to be a detective to find Valentine after the fight, although given her involvement in the WDA, she could have technically said she was that. She just needed to follow the trail of blood. The photomancer frowned, walking up the steps towards Yuki House. The whole scene was a bit surreal. She would have expected Valentine to get treatment after that fight. Was her pride really so important to her that she would rather suffer?

I did overdo it a bit there... she thought to herself, flexing her left hand as she walked into Yuki House, following the trail to the elevator. She couldn't help but feel a little guilty about that. But Valentine had made it clear that she wouldn't stop fighting otherwise. What else was she supposed to do?

Star got off of the elevator at the fourth floor, following the trail of blood to the open room. She frowned, her eyes falling on the girl that was lying on the bed. Star stepped into the room and closed the door behind her, stepping forward.

Well, J, you weren't kidding. Your techniques do damage, alright.

"You know, the smart thing to do would be to call an ambulance and get those looked at," she said.

(OOC: Vale is actually in the living room on the floor)

Valentine quickly sat up and groaned, holding her side as she winced. She looked at the person who entered, the person being Star from the fight, "I do not need any medical attention," she said to her, laying back down on her back, "Why did you come here anyways?" Valentine tilted her head to look at her, the site of Valentine could only be described as a murder scene with all the blood around her.

Valentines gas mask was helping her breath, grunting coming from her as she breathed due to her side wound. She didn't have time to remove the body suit she had underneath her outer bodysuit, the need for quality oxygen being a priority, "Have you come to make fun of me?" she asked, looking away as she asked, "Or were you not satisfied from the fight?"

Star shook her head slowly, staring down at the girl on the floor. "Don't forget, I was the one who stopped the fight," she said, a frown on her face as she studied the other girl. "In fact, if I had to say anything, I'd say it was you that wasn't satisfied. I don't like to fight. That was supposed to be more of a spar, but we both took it a little too far"

She wouldn't put the blame solely on Valentine. After all, Valentine hadn't cut herself up. The fight had been surprisingly...thrilling. It had been...interesting, to see how she could use her observational skills in a fight.

Maybe that was what bothered her so much about it.

"I didn't come here to gloat," she said. "I came here to help you. Come on, sit up. Let's find something to use to stop that bleeding."

Valentine looked away as Star told her that it was herself that had stopped the fight, calling Valentine out for not being satisfied. "I didn't come here to gloat," Star said to Valentine, "I came here to help you. Come on, sit up. Let's find something to use to stop that bleeding." Valentine looked back to her with a slightly puzzled look, "Help me?" she said back, "Why would you help me?"

Valentine sat up at Stars request, grunting as she sat up, "I-I can handle it," she said, her face giving an endured look, "Though I have never been wounded this badly before, it's nothing I can't handle." Valentine sat up against the wall, her wound still bleeding slightly. Her under-bodysuit was cut up from the stars and shards that Star had fought with, a bit of blood coming from her back where a star has pierced her.

"Because contrary to what you might believe about me, I actually don't like tearing other people up," replied Star when Valentine asked why she would help her. The photomancer paused for a moment to stare at the other girl's injuries, wishing that she had J's healing abilities. Since the only person who seemed to be affected at all positively from her powers was herself, and even then, only occasionally, she decided against seeing if she might spontaneously develop them.

"I believe you, but since it's partially my fault, I want to help too," said Star. She shrugged off the jacket that she was wearing, pressing it against the worst of Valentine's wounds and attempting to stop the bleeding. She didn't attempt to explain herself. She didn't want to try. Star wasn't really sure what had happened back there. All that she knew was that in one moment, she had felt in control of the fight. In the next, she wanted to see what else she could do.

"Wouldn't happen to have a first aid kit anywhere around here, would you?" she asked.

Valentine looked to Star with a somewhat surprise look on her face, "H-Help me?" Valentine continued to look at her, doubt filling her face, "Are you sure there is no ulterior motive behind this?" She watched as Star took off her jacket and pressing on Vales wound, groaning a bit as she applies pressure. She lied back as pressure was applied, the pain somewhat increasing as she applied the pressure.

Star then asked for a first aid kit, Valentine resting her head to the side, "I do not have one of those," she says, looking to her in the corner of her eye, "I usually heal just fine but with this sort of wound, it may take a bit longer." Valentine said, in a somewhat informative tone. She gritted her teeth a bit, the pain still there but the bleeding still continuing. "Th-This is the second time someone has actually helped me," she said, looking away from Star, "Why? I know you have said that you felt at fault but why could you not have just let me go?"

Vale lied there in silence for a moment, thinking for a second or two, "Are all humans this stupid?" she asked, not knowing Stars origins, "You could catch something from my blood and not recover from it." She sighed, twitching in pain every once in a while with the pressure.

No first aid kit? That meant that she would have to improvise. Star considered running back to her dorm room to get some, but decided against it. She was sure that someone in Yuki House would have one. And if not, she could help get Valentine moderately stable first and then run off and get one. She mentally scolded herself again for going overboard as she looked at Valentine.

You used techniques that an ex-assassin taught you. What did you think would happen?

"Doubt it," muttered Star as she worked, examining Valentine's other wounds. She gestured at the jacket. "Hold this for a minute," she said, handing it to her as she inspected the others. "Anyway, I hardly ever get sick as it is. I doubt your blood can do anything to me that random fits and spurts of light energy can't."

"As for all humans being stupid...I can't answer for the general population. Like I told you, I'm only part-human. Not entirely. And I can't just let you go because if you developed complications from not getting adequate treatment, I'd feel guilty." She adopted Valentine's speech patterns for her answer without even thinking about it. She was feeling slightly introspective at the moment.

Valentine held onto the jacket as she looked at her other wounds, Valentines other wounds not being as bad as the wound from the shard. Valentine simply lied back, holding onto the jacket. Even though Star said she was only half human, it was still enough to consider her one of the humans. Valentine would glance back at Star as she treated her wounds, not sure what to say in a situation like this. It was quite silent for some time, Vale groaning every now and again from the wound.

There was a lot of awkward silence between the two, Valentine unable to say anything. "I uh," she said, trying to think of what to say and looking around, "I-I think you put up a good fight." If only The Doctor could hear what she said, it must be snowing in hell. But Valentine shook her head as if trying to erase from her mind what she had just said, "I mean for a half human. I am sure if you were not half, you would have been a lot better."

Valentine just looked to Star, admiring her kindness. Unfortunately her face won't show it, her everyday dull look with a hint of pain was what she showed. "I can handle it from here," she said, sitting up a bit with her elbows, "Leave me alone now, I wish to be left alone so I can heal properly." She sat up more and her breathing was back to normal, sitting against the wall. "Now get out of here before I vaporize you," she threatened her, a serious look upon her face.

"Hm."

Star's mouth turned up in a smile as she worked, at Valentine's words. If she weren't part-human, she would be better. She wasn't sure about that. Because it had been her human side that had wanted to stop the fight. If she ever went full-elemental...well, there was no telling. But the thought amused her, and she didn't let Valentine see that there might have been anything darker underneath. "I don't know. I've never really thought about it," she admitted.

"Although I'm not half-human. More like three-quarters..."

She withdrew as Valentine told her that she could handle herself from here, giving the other girl quick once-over. Valentine's injuries were severe, but they weren't life-threatening from what Star knew. The reasonable thing to do would be to call a hospital, but Star wasn't sure how Valentine would react to "pathetic humans" treating her. So instead, Star grinned and reached out, touching Valentine on the nose teasingly, and unwittingly leaving a small amount of blood.

"You can try~" she said, getting to her feet. "But, anyway, I don't know how I feel about just leaving you here. You could pass out while I'm gone, and nobody would know. You sure you don't want to go to the hospital?"

Valentine continued to look at Star as she went on with the patchwork, sighing as she continued. Star corrected Valentine about her humanity, being three quarters rather than half, "You are an odd human then," she said, "Though your skills are somewhat impressive." Valentine was relieved when Star withdrew, cracking her neck from side to side. Star teased Vale about trying to vaporize her, a slight smirk coming from Vale, "I would be careful for what you wish for," she said, teasing back a bit but with a serious tone, "I would hate to destroy such an interesting being." In a way, this was Vales way of a compliment, unable to express her actual feelings.

She then paused for a moment when Star advised her to go to the hospital, "I do not think that my body would be something that humans are used to," she said, adjusting herself against the wall, "Moreover, I do not want some humans messing with my body and damaging it. As I said before, I can handle it now. I am in your debt," she said, looking away and almost lowering her voice near the end of what she said so she couldn't hear.

Star smiled in return as if she hadn't just been threatened, tipping her head slightly towards Valentine in a nod. Although the other girl had said it very quietly, Star had heard her say she was in her debt. "I didn't do much," said Star, "But I'll keep that in mind." Star wouldn't take advantage of someone owing her a favor the way that some people might, but she was just practical enough to not reject Valentine's words. Who knew when she might need a favor?

She still didn't feel good about leaving Valentine alone, but she had explained her reservations, and short of forcing the issue, there was really nothing more that Star could do here. Valentine was right. Star had no idea what her physiology might be like. Trying to help might do more than good. So she nodded again, turning towards her.

"Well, then...take care," she said, heading towards the door.

Star closed it behind her and sighed heavily, leaning against the door and staring out into the hallway. She looked down at her hands. She would need to be more careful in the next match and not go overboard. This situation couldn't be repeated again.

With that, the photomancer put a smile on her face, leaving the dorm building.
