Now, let's play together...under the clearest of blue skies.
|
Erin took a deep breath after being pulled into the safety of the train car. She was already wishing that she had stayed home. The sphere of compressed air she had been forming dissipated harmlessly as she lost focus on it, but she didn't care. As long as she was here, she would be safe for a few seconds, at least. The girl was awestruck as Mira listed off her abilities like they were nothing. She sounded more like a goddess of war than any student at a school. She was probably powerful enough to take the man on one-on-one, which was fortunate because Erin figured she couldn't hurt him at all. Her head shot up as he heard the man's voice. "Knock knock." And with them, a building force on the other side of the door. "A-Aegis!!" She only barely managed to choke out the name of her Soul Weapon before the impact. The door to the train car, blown forward by the force of the blast, collided with one of the black shields. Aegis - The Three Barrier Crests Three black, metallic shields, each large enough to guard a single person. They float in the air around their wielder, autonomously defending her against any intrusion from any angle. The shields flashed into existence in an instant to protect their master. Erin shakily took to her feet, having only barely escaped death once more. But Dario's fire was engulfing the train car at the same lethal speed. She quickly backed away, towards the edge of the train, attempting to take control of the air in the train car. But in the same second, most of that air had been consumed, burned by the fire. Half of the train car was already filled with smoke, a mere two seconds after the man's entry. She had to act fast. She hated having to act fast. Using the half of the train car's air that she had managed to take hold of, she desperately attempted to push back the raging fire with gusts of wind. The only way she could even try to fight back was to blow out the fire before it burned up all of the air. But it was only a matter of time. The difference in their powers was self-evident. Dario could create fire. Erin could only move existing air. Her resources were finite, and quickly shrinking. And when they were gone, she would be powerless. The crate containing the artifact was behind her, but it was made of wood. If the fire reached it, it would burn. She wasn't sure what the artifact was, but it was possible that it would also be destroyed. With a swift mental command, two of her Barrier Crests moved to protect the crate. They could stop assailants from picking it up or touching it, but they couldn't stop the fire spreading across the walls. She kept only one for herself - it floated stalwartly in front of her, between her and Dario, who were at opposite ends of the train car. She almost lost her focus when Mira transformed. She may have been trying to scare Dario, but she did a better job at scaring Erin. Every note of her psychotic laugh sent a shiver down her spine. She was glad that monster was on her side. She wasn't sure how long she could hold off the fire for, but after seeing that, she had no doubt that Mira would be able to defeat the enemy before the flames reached the crate. Her only fear was that she would go too far and end up killing him. Edited by Erin, Mar 4 2012, 11:05 PM.

Bocky was surprised at how tough the werewolf was considering his attack had hit it pretty good, but what really surprised him was that Daemon suddenly popped into the room and attacked the wolf, but missed. Bocky said over the Arcadia line 'wow we really get a lot of wearwolves in Hyakuji, but were fine on this end either way.' As the weawolf lunged at him, prepared to bite into him, he countered with a punch straight into the wolves mouth. If the wolf didn't stop itself from getting hit by that move it was going to have a fist lodged straight through its throat. |

Daemon swears under his breath as his fist collides with the side of the train, leaving a few good size holes where his claws actually did collide. But he quickly regains his composure, and continues his assault on the other lycan. Watching the other lycan trying to maul Bocky, and seeing Bocky retaliate appropriately he does the same as the lycan and tries to maul him in the back of the neck if he pulls his head back towards Daemon. |

"Alright!" Haru shouted as his attack hit Dmitrii and made him to the side. This battle wasn't easy, Haru thought to himself as he jumped back so he could keep the distance between him and Dmitrii. Haru still couldn't figure it out about Dmitrii's 'real' power, so yeah, It means that Haru needed to be more carefull. Plus, just as Hiro told to Haru. Just kept up with what Haru doing right now, and paying Dmitrii's attention. Because Hiro needed to test a few more things. Maybe Haru didn't know what was Hiro going to do now, but still, he was the leader, and Let's just believe in this Leader, right? And so, Haru then turned his glance to where Hiro was and saw Hiro snapped his fingers casting a fire-based spell engulfing the back of Dmitrii's coat in flames. Seeing that, Haru's eyes was glowing as Dmitrii was removing his coat and threw it to the side. "Fire..." Haru mumbled as his eyes was still focusing to where did the coat go, but then withouth Haru noticing, he let his guard down and-- "Wh-what the--!?" Quickly Haru then jumped back again as he was seeing an explosion of flames from where Hiro was standing right there. "Crap! I let my guard down!" Haru yelled to himself. "Wait-- did he just do the same thing as Hiro-sensei did?" Haru asked himself in confusion, he really have no idea with this man's power, but then when Haru was busy asking himself, Hiro then said that it's not based on sight. "Based on sight?" and Again, Haru was confused with what Hiro going to do.... Aside that, Haru quickly shook his head and turned his eyes to Dmitrii again as Dmitrii started to talk again about he couldn't forgive him ruining his outfit. "Ah yeah.. sure.. that outfit.. can't forgive.. yeah..." Haru rolled his eyes as he still in his guard. "Just to save us all time, I'll go ahead and explain. As long as I experience the spell first hand, my body naturally learns its use. So yes, keep casting spells at me. All that power and every use of it is only going to make me stronger!!!" Hearing that, Haru's eyes widened. "Wait.. Did he say his body naturally learns its use..? So Is that why he can use the same spell as you do, Hiro-sensei?" Said Haru to Hiro as Haru was rubbing his hand again. "And Hiro-sensei, sorry. What is this spell first hand means, Hro-sensei? Is it like some based spell or what?" Haru asked to Hiro. And yeah, maybe everyone already knew about this 'spell first hand' from the class, but duh. Haru wasn't this 'everyone', so yeah.. He was deserve to get a punishment after this. Aaaand!! Enough with this 'lovely' chat! While Haru was waiting for Hiro answer, Haru then quickly dashed--with his power, speed of sound--to Dmitrii as he rose his wooden sword and ready to hit him directly! Plus! If Hiro needed to test a few more things! then, How about if Haru needed 'to test a few more things' too? |

NICE DRIVE!

As Mira transformed Dario merely scoffed at the sight. It seemed this Arcadia was fine with employing monsters to fight other monsters. Moving carefully to the side, Dario managed to avoid the scythe as it tore the sleeve of his jacket just passing mere inches from his arm. Placing a hand towards Mira as she passed, Dario unleashed a burst of flames at point blank range. Without waiting to see the results, Dario began to take a few steps forward towards Erin and the crate with the artifact. "Barriers huh?" Dario questioned as the inferno of the train car continued to blaze, "You should know that's just delaying the inevitable, girl. Eventually this whole train will burn up and I bet you can't keep those things going forever. So why don't you just accept defeat?" ==== As Bocky punched the werewolf it howled in pain as it weaved back some. Despite his attempt at deterring the attack successful, Bocky would find his hand in slight pain as the fangs of the werewolf scrapped against his fist. Unfortunately, as the werewolf dodged backwards it placed itself in the exact spot for Daemon. As his claws tore into the back of the beast's neck they instantly drew blood dropping the beast. It was still alive at this point, but struggling to hang on. However, given its general level of power it was clear that the werewolves were not intended to be the real threat. No, the duo could hear the battle going on atop the roof of the train. Meanwhile, the smell of smoke was clear in the air caused by the inferno Dario had started. Though the conductor was now safe there were still much bigger problems to deal with. ==== Normally when a mage learns a spell, Hiro began over the Link in reply to Haru's question, He has to practice the technique and memorize the proper words to the incantation. People with abilities like this guy can just see or experience the spell and automatically learn it. As Haru ran in for another attack, Dmitrii deftly moved in reply parrying the strike and preparing another blast of lighting, "Why won't you two just understand? There's no way you'll overcome my skill!" Seeing his opening, Hiro began to rush in from his side with Tyrfing. Truth be told he was out of options using just magic. Any more uses and he would just be making Dmitrii all that more stronger. He'd have to just use outright brute force. At the last second, Dmitrii pushed back with his knife at Haru knocking him away so he could spin around and unleash the magical blast of lighting on Hiro sending him flying back and crashing down through the roof of the last car holding the artifact. Immediately, paying no mind to Haru, Dmitrii ran off after him. He knew who the best target was. If he could drop the leader then the rest would fall easily. ==== As Hiro crashed down into the flaming inferno he bypassed Erin's barriers and struck the crate with the artifact directly shattering it apart upon impact. Dario's eyes glinted with excitement at the scene; their chance had finally come. Amid the rubble and the confusion Hiro hastily glanced around looking for the contents of the crate. And then he saw it. For a split second Hiro puzzled about its importance. Still, if these people wanted it so bad then it had to be quite powerful. The cat was out of the bag now. Regardless of the situation, they couldn't let it fall into the hands of the enemy. Dmitrii would easily keep him in check. And it seemed like whether they could defeat his ally or not, the train would soon burn up and be stuck where it was meaning that reinforcements could easily swoop in for the finale. "Screw it!" Hiro shouted as he reached out and grasped the artifact rising to his feet as he held the leather whip readied in his grasp. "Shit," Dario scoffed just as Dmitrii dropped down from above joining his partner in crime, "We never planned on this!" "Heh," Hiro laughed arrogantly, "So you're afraid of this huh? Let's see what it can do!" Pulling forward, Hiro flung forward and the whip cracked with a powerful force as it struck Dario directly and with an explosion of raw force blasted the pyromaniac backwards. The force knocked him through several train cars busting through the doors as he went till he landed painfully on his back in the middle passenger car of the train. "The Vampire Killer," Dmitrii hissed, "To think it would offer its strength to someone not of noble blood. It seems we underestimated you people. A simple mistake. It would be impossible to value you very highly based on appearance alone." "You're on your own Dario!" Dmitrii called out loudly, "I'm afraid I must take my leave. But rest assured, Arcadia, you'll be hearing from the Ordo Dracul again in the near future. As long as you keep that abomination in your care, you're the primary target." Laughing wildly, Dmitrii vanished into thin air. Meanwhile, thoroughly trashed from the power of the whip Dario struggled to try and get to his feet as he winced in pain mumbling under his breath as he heard Dmitrii vocalize his retreat, "B-Basard..." Bocky, Daemon, Hiro quickly began to speak over the Link, Close in on the pyromancer and capture him if possible. Erin, Mira, we're going to move into the next car and then unlink this cargo car from the train. If we don't then everything else will go up in f- Without warning Hiro suddenly passed out as if drained of his strength. As he fell forward the whip, identified by Dmitrii as Vampire Killer, slipped from his grasp coiling nearby. It seemed the group had passed the worst of things, but this horrible night was far from over. Edited by Hiro_Tsukasa, Mar 12 2012, 04:35 PM.

"SH*T!" Mira yelped as the fiend got burned. She was still standing, but she had taken a bad hit. She was hardly in fighting condition at this point. "Ergh.... pathetic... why couldn't my old strength just have been... purified?" she thought. This train was not her best point to fight in, she preferred acting as cavalry, not infantry. She then saw Hiro bust out some whip. Apparently THAT'S what they were guarding. And it kicked ass. "A leather whip do... THAT!?" she thought. When 'Vampire Killer' took Hiro out, then that made things more difficult. She considered using the whip herself to protect her. The man shouted something about 'noble blood', but even though she was royalty, she didn't know what 'noble blood' was. And even if any HUMAN royalty, would be able to get the power in the whip, she was infernal royalty. And she figured a person such as herself would be unable to do such. "Erin! Get Hiro and the whip! I'll take care of uncoupling the cars! Oh, and the little cackle I did? It was just to try to scare Dario." She was still badly burnt, but she attempted to make her way to the coupling. She'd then wait for Erin to cross, then gathering her strength, quickly uncouple the two cars by swinging Ash Edge at the coupling. Why uncouple it that way? It was more fun that way. |

Bocky winced in pain as his attack work perfectly on the wolf and allowed Daemon to jump in and finish the job. Suddenly there was a large explosion heard near the end of the train and suddenly it came to a stop. Over the com-link Hiro told him and Daemon that they had to go and capture a pyromacner but the message suddenly stopped mid sentence. That couldn't be a good sign. 'Man that would have been cool to fight earlier' Bocky thought to himself. "Daemon I'll hit the guy and you tie him up. It's the perfect plan" Bocky said as he ran towards the center car, where the Pyromancer was likely to be based on the earlier explosion. |

Erin looked relieved at Mira's words. Even though they didn't know each other very well, she was happy to know that she was still the same person that she had been 30 seconds ago. She just looked a lot scarier is all. She eyed the whip on the floor with uncertainty. Hiro had collapsed right after using it...did the whip drain the user's energy? No, more importantly than that, Hiro was unconscious. At the moment, they had no leader. Erin quickly began doing as Mira said, and following Hiro's last orders. She tenatively picked up the whip by the handle, and started trying to lug Hiro through the burning car. She couldn't use aeromancery to carry him with the fire here, and it was burning her feet as she tried to make her way through. "H-he's too heavy...!" She called out desperately, trying to catch her breath. It wasn't really that Hiro was heavy, but more that Erin was simply weak. She didn't have the physical strength to carry or even drag a full-grown man. She started to cough as she inhaled smoke, desperately trying to rid her lungs of the soot. "I need help...!" |

Mira rushes back into the room, and helps Erin drag Hiro and the whip out of the burning car. She was still burnt from Dario's attack, though being a demon, she'd heal up quickly. After they all get out, she proceeds to unlatch the burning car from the rest of the train. |

"Crap!" Haru muttered to himself as he was seeing Dmitri was sending Hiro flying back to the top of the car that hold the artifact with his lightning ball that he copied from Hiro. And it seemed that Dmitrii was ignoring Haru and decided to chase after Hiro, seeing that Haru then grit his teeth as he stood up and ready to run, but when he wanted to run, a sudden shock was occcured from Haru's hand, it was the pain from before. "Guh!" Haru was really annoyed because of this, "I hate this!" Haru yelled to himself as he was trying again to where Hiro was as his hand was holding down his other hand. "Holy crap!" Haru said as he was arrived on there and jumped down to there, he didn't know what was happening, but all he knew that when he was running over there, he heard something like an explosion from there, but then seeing the car was burning down, Haru quickly turned his head back to the passenger car and saw another guy--Dario--right there, and it seemed that guy was the pyromancer that Hiro mentioned before, plus because of he was the pyromancer, so that means the one who burn this car must be him, no doubt. Haru thought to himself as he turned his head again to the burning car. And it seemed that Hiro, Erin, and Mira was still in there, maybe that fancy guy was still in there too, but then when Haru was coming into there. "O-oi!" He said as Haru wanted to go in there, haru then saw that Erin and Mira was going out from there, seeing that Haru quickly asked them "Guys! Let me help you!" Haru quickly offering his help to them as he was taking Mira position to carry Hiro, "What was happening, guys!? And what's up with Hiro!?" Haru asked again to them as he was looking Mira unlatching the burning car from the rest of the train. |

"On my way." Daemon says as he lifts the slowly dying lycan, and throws it into a crate to die. "Stay there, if you know what's good for you." He quickly jumps through the multiple holes in the train, and makes his way towards the pyromancer. When close enough he hovers over him, with an arm poised to rip out his throat at a moments notice. "Care to test the speed of your magic?" He says with a deep growl. |

"Gah," Dario scoffed in annoyance as he scrambled to his feet noting the werewolf charging him down, "Damn you, Dmitrii. I'll pay you back for this later!" Snapping his fingers he engulfed himself in flames that exploded outward acting as a deterrent for the attack. The werewolf would have had to push on through igniting himself into an inferno just to touch the Pyromancer. With a flash, the flames converted into black smoke. As these clears it seemed Dario had vanished somehow. The silence of the train was now very odd given the recent and very tense situation. As Mira unhooked the cargo train, it detached from everything else drifting behind and slowing to a stop as it continued to burn brightly. Even as it pulled out of sight from the back passenger car it was clear it would be burning until almost nothing was left besides the metal chasis of the car's underside. Thanks to the help of Haru, Erin managed to get Hiro safely into one of the seats of the back passenger car where he slowly began to regain consciousness. "Good work everyone," Hiro complemented the team, "I think I'll be fine. Using the power of this artifact seems to take a lot out of you. That was a little close, but it seems we managed to defend this thing. It seems they're more afraid of it than we were of their power." Even as he began to regain his strength, Hiro couldn't help but think over the words Dmitrii had spoken. He had called the whip "Vampire Killer" and mentioned the name Ordo Dracul. Hiro recognized what it meant immediately though exactly what it implied was unclear; were they some sort of group. If so, then what were they wanting. "Ordo Dracul," Hiro repeated softly as he glanced out the back door of the passenger car which had been blown off and into the dark night beyond, "Order of the Dragon..." |

"Thing is." Mira shrugged "What would they want with the whip? I mean, it's a helluva weapon by what I saw you do with it, but with that kind of drawback..." |

Erin was still coughing, her lungs damaged by the smoke. She made a note to go to a hospital after this was all said and done. Thankfully, they all seemed to make it out okay...well, the train was damaged a bit, but hopefully the B.P.R.D. would accept the cost of the damaged train, given that the artifact had ultimately remained safe...although they might be a bit mad that the artifact was revealed, seeing as how they wanted to keep it a secret. "Maybe...they wanted it so that it couldn't be used against them..." Erin squeaked out, her voice strained by the smoke she had inhaled. "I mean...a weapon like that is probably one-of-a-kind. And they were really afraid of it...they'd probably feel a lot safer having it to themselves, so that their enemies couldn't use it..." She took a deep breath before she continued. "It would have been nice if the ones who hired us had told us what the artifact was though, if it was a weapon that helped us that much...we may not have been able to win without it." |

"It's likely that the Hellsing Organization wanted to avoid information leaks," Hiro spoke up at Erin's comment, "Though it seems that happened anyways. Still, we were asked about this job on the grounds that there might have been danger. So nothing was beyond the projected parameters of the mission. Plus, we managed to succeed." Still, the name Ordo Dracul couldn't help but bother Hiro. It had only been a few weeks since The Fated Day and Arcadia's final triumph over the Hellfire Club. Were they already now drawing the ire of a new organization? "Still," Hiro continued, "I'd wager Erin has the right idea. It's likely that whatever these people are trying to do, this 'Vampire Killer' can royally screw up their plans. If they can gain it in their possession and hide or seal it away then it becomes a non-issue. That likely means whatever their plot is... it's not near fruition yet." Still, what could this whip do? Sure, it was certainly powerful. However, like the others pointed out the perceived drawback didn't validate the cost. One good swing, though strong, hadn't been enough to finish off that Pyromancer. It drained most of Hiro's strength in an instance. Without enough willpower and ability it could likely injure someone weaker. "They want to square away the one thing they think might be a problem," Hiro concluded, "Before they begin to move ahead. Hurm, of course that's just me speculating. In any case, good work everyone. Let's keep our eyes and ears open until we're back in Hyakuji although I don't find it likely that they will launch a second assault." ==== [The Next Evening: Unknown Location] "DAMN YOU!" Dario shouted as he slammed Dmitrii into the ground at full force with a punch. The sound of the impact echoed through the lavish foyer hall which seemed indicative of a large mansion. Cackling, the well dressed man merely wiped the blood from his lip and stood up shooting Dario a vile grin. "Oh so sorry, Dario," Dmitrii mused, "But you know I only left because I was so confident in your abilities. I never doubted for a minute that you wouldn't escape~" As the duo continued to bicker two more began to descend down the grand stairway at the center of the room. Behind them a large banner clung to the wall: ![]() "Both of you, stop at once," the woman called out as she gave them both a stern look, "Like it or not for the time being you'll both need to get along. Remember, you are both Candidates for becoming the Dark Lord." ![]() "Ah but of course, Miss Fortner," Dmitrii obliged bowing to her and the man walking beside her. "Tch," Dario scoffed crossing his arms as he looked away. "See," the man spoke up in a regal voice, "This is just further proof of their incompetence. Celia, I have agreed to let you act as you see fit and if you claim they are Candidates then I won't try to say otherwise. However, their every failure only further proves the truth. I am the true one." ![]() "That may be true, Graham Jones," Celia answered as they reached the bottom of the stairs, "But my allegiance rests only to the Dark Lord. You've accepted that term of our partnership to consolidate our forces. My every action is for his revival. As long as there is even the slightest chance for them as a Candidate, I will continue to support them. Now, Actrise, come forth." On command from Celia's words a puff of smoke appeared before the group as the witch Actrise materialized from thin air. "Yes Lady Fortner?" Actrise questioned with a playful laugh, "What can I do for you today?" ![]() "I want to hear your assessment of this Arcadia," Celia stated plainly. "Well," Actrise began with a sigh, "My attempt to disguise myself as mist was a poor idea. I ended up being blown off course and didn't have the Magic to give pursuit. They had a Wind User so the entire ritual I set up was a bust. Instead I simply performed reconnaissance at range to avoid the battle. They were formidable, but Dmitrii managed to keep their leader's power in check pretty well allowing Dario to act freely." "I see," Graham spoke thoughtfully. "But there's something else," Actrise added as she held up a finger, "I did some scrying on their leader. Did you know for a short while he was a vampire?" "A vampire, you say? Was?" Celia questioned with curiosity. "Yes," Actrise continued, "It seems they found some very esoteric cure. Still, I did some tests while the boys fought on the train. Due to this fact and his powerful magic abilities... I believe Hiro Tsukasa may be a Candidate for becoming the Dark Lord." "What foolishness," Graham boasted as he placed a hand to his forehead in annoyance, "And you think an enemy would consent to that?" "I don't care," Celia spoke up with a tinge of anger in her voice, "If he has the potential then we need to determine for certain. I don't care who they are or their willingness for my cause. I will see to the Dark Lord's resurrection. Actrise, you shall go to Japan. Take Dario and Dmitrii if you require them along with anybody else you think might help your investigation. Do whatever you have to in getting the job done. Your primary goal is information gathering. However, if the opportunity arrives to steal the Vampire Killer then do so. We cannot allow that weapon to exist freely with the potential to be wielded against the Dark Lord." "Yes, Lady Fortner," Actrise bowed respectfully before vanishing into thin air. Chuckling, Dmitrii patted Dario on the back ushering him off as they both exited; Dario scoffed in frustration. Giving some parting words, Celia left from Graham's side heading off to continue her own work. Alone, Graham turned staring towards the large banner on the wall. "What fools," Graham spoke softly to himself, "I don't care who they are. Dmitrii. Dario. even this Hiro Tsukasa. I'll kill them all. Anyone that blocks my path. Only I am most qualified. I am the one who will become the Dark Lord...and nothing will stand in my way..." Edited by Hiro_Tsukasa, Mar 21 2012, 02:34 PM.
