White Bishops. What a fitting code names. Star turned her roommate and best friend as Jameson called their names out, giving her a smile. Besides the obvious religious connotation, Bishops were the chess pieces that didn't move in straight lines, instead taking their opponents out on the diagonal, which was perfect for Star and Jen's brand of doing things. The smile faded from her face slightly as Jameson gave them their assignments. The chess metaphor made remembering things a little difficult, but Star quickly matched up the code names with the people in question. Their job was to take out the Black Knights, and to restrain Alexa without killing her if at all possible. Same thing with Gordon. From what she had heard, Emiko wasn't much of a fighter, and she knew that Jen had an extensive amount of training, but no powers of her own, which meant that in this team, Star would have to bring the firepower...or light power in this case. Her left hand closed into a loose fist. Alright then. She hadn't spent her summer training with J for nothing. "Barcelona, huh? Got it." she asked, putting a smile on her face and pushing her dark thoughts away as she turned towards her roommate. "Bueno, Jen, como es tu Espanol?" (Well, Jen, how's your Spanish?) She wouldn't falter now. She had already decided she would get stronger to help everyone. Edited by Chizu, Feb 6 2012, 09:16 AM.

Jonathan listened as Jameson explained the plan and the code names for both them and the Professor and his men. Being a White Knight made Jonathan chuckle, he was suprised that he was playing a decently important part in the plan. However this also meant that people were relying on him more then normal. He couldn't screw up otherwise it would mean bad news. So they were being sent up against the queen, that would be interesting for sure. Still he was with Jameson and Jameson was the head of the Wda so there was really no one he would prefer to be with him. Jonathan pushed thoughts of uncertainty out of his mind as he though about the mission as a whole. It seemed a little to simple theoretically, he couldn't help but wonder why it seemed so simple. Something did annoy him however, it was the fact that Jameson was sending Seth after the body snatcher when it had become rather clear that they wanted to capture Seth. He decided to voice his opinion about that. "I trust your judgement and all but should we really be sending Seth against the body snatcher." Jonathan said calmly as he glanced towards Seth and back to Jameson. "That would be running an extremely risky gamble, if this body snatcher manages to take Seth's body won't whatever they got planning would continue forth. Largely in their favour and without much interference really, especially since we would all be busy taking our respective targets down." Jonathan was quiet for a moment before adding something to the end. "That is of course if they really do want to capture Seth." Jonathan stood quietly looking towards Jameson, while he knew that Jameson probably already thought through this he still wanted to make sure that he knew what he was doing. "I don't think you have to worry about that," Seth said in a surprisingly confident voice, though he still lacks his usual amiable demeanor. "If I have to say so myself, I'm probably a bodysnatcher's worst nightmare," I mean, if the enemy's method of attack is basically taking over his body, then they've got something else to be wary about. And somewhere within the confinement of his mind, the metavirus couldn't help but snort in amusement. |

Born with a heart broken from the start

Emiko felt her eyes instinctively roll, just like they always did around Deus, when Ryounosuke Takeda chirped in to defend his ‘line of work’. Of course she was grateful that the WA was getting as much support and help as possible, but she couldn’t really agree that criminals who were ‘elegant’ and worked with ‘purpose’ were that much better than ‘ordinary’ ones. Although the black-haired girl stayed silent, meticulously taking notes until finally Jameson was done. Wow… so she was really going to Barcelona? Barcelona?! And they were going to get Gordon and Alexa… Wait. They weren’t only supposed to ‘get’ them, they were supposed to… “Eliminate?” Emiko breathed, looking at Jameson with her big violet eyes. She swallowed hard. Okay, so maybe the termination of a Zombie wouldn’t make her feel that guilt-ridden, but the girl? That would be much harder to do even if Alexa made attempts to kill Emiko, Jen or Star. Hopefully they would manage to capture the young assassin without anyone being seriously hurt, but still, something unexpected always tends to happen... |

"Like I jsut said we're going to try to capture these targets alive for now. We're not sure if killing them even stops them but.. yes! If we have to we will do what is necessary. It's.. unpleasant but true.." He said trailing off. "A-Anyhow.." He handed out small cards. "Edmund Dake's Teleportation Spells. They teleport you to anywhere in the world." "They also take 12 hours to do so and make you blind and deaf with the loud bang and flash of light." Oliver said with a sigh. "I hate these things. It'd honestly be faster to just take a jet." "But this FEELS instant, so it's superior." ".....Ugh.... Fine whatever." Oliver said taking on. "Hate these goddamned things so damn much!" "When you devise a superior method of teleportation go ahead and tell me." Edmund Drake said, rolling his eyes. "We'll all get in contact when you guys reach your destinations. Contact us immediately and check in via headset comms. If you encounter any trouble just alert us. There's money of the local currency and clothes in your bags that I've prepared... We leave in an hour. Take care of any business you need to before then... See you soon" "By which you mean in thirteen goddamned hours! I HATE THESE TELEPORTING CARDS!!" "Oooh, code names! Now we're sounding like secret agents!" Jen exclaimed merrily as Jameson mentioned assigning code names to the WDA members; and to keep in accordance to the theme of "checkmate", they were all named after chess pieces. With the WDA being the white side and The Professor's goons being the black side. "Ollie-kun's right in that it just adds an unnecessary level of complexity... but what the heck; complex suits me fine. Plus, the code names suit us perfectly!" the fact that bishops moved diagonally on the chess board fit the way both herself and Star operate - using covert and non-direct tactics. "Barcelona, huh?" Jen mused as Jameson briefed them on how the two assigned Black Knights - child assassin Alexa and zombie Gordon - were reported to be seen in the Spanish city. "But I'm sure they aren't there for a vacation," the purple-haired girl commented. She still remembered how she had a close shave with the zombie the other time, although now that this time around she knew just who they are going up against, it just makes it easier for her to prepare against the enemy. Vulnerability towards fire? No problem, especially considering her expertise in mixing up incendiaries; and no matter how deadly Alexa's shots are, she's only good as long as she has her weapon. Well, nothing bad about putting down a zombie, although Alexa does raise some moral concerns - which hopefully they could either convince her to lay down her arms and surrender, or take her out in a non-lethal fashion... "Bueno, Jen, como es tu Espanol?" Star asked, prompting Jen to look in the photomancer's direction. "Muy caliente, digo yo. Pero yo no se hablar español con la suficiente frecuencia," Jen replied with a smile and a thumbs up. (Pretty hot, I say. But I don't get to speak Spanish often enough) Jen groaned at the mention of Edmund's teleportation spell. The darned thing that required twelve freakin' hours to get them anywhere, but leaves them blind and deaf during the teleportation process to create the illusion of an instantaneous transmission by screwing with their perception of time. "Ollie-kun's right... a jet's probably faster and I don't mind spending the twelve hour trip actually doing something productive, like building gadgets, watching anime, or reading a book," Jen added as she folded her arms across her chest, clearly sharing Oliver's sentiments regarding Edmund Drake's "teleportation". "Rather than... y'know, wasting away zwölf Stunden verdammt of my life being stuck in a state of total sensory deprivation to give the illusion of instant travel," the purple-haired girl grumbled, looking at Star in hopes that the blond photomancer also shares her sentiments. "When you devise a superior method of teleportation go ahead and tell me." Edmund retorted, rolling his eyes. "With the Bakers being such an influential group, I don't see why you guys can't supply me with some parts and materials to build a warp gate," Jen commented, before nodding as Jameson gave the cue to move. "Right then, boss! See you in twelve hours that somehow feels like an instant then!" |
