TIME: DAWNN OF THURSDAY

LOCATION: IN THE RAGING RIVER OF WARRIORS

"And the final fight is Asher Versus..." Deus continued however before he stopped Thanatos whispered into his ear..

Jameson and Oliver stepped on stage. "Last minute change of plans folks. Nise isn't around for her fight so we've decided to reward a special combatant from round one.. A person whom fought gallantly and showed incredible resolve... That is Bran Rogers. He will fight again in this round in Nise's place."

"So with that.. Bran Versus Asher.. BEGIN!" Olvier said cheerfully

Bran smiled as he stretched. His clothes were all cut up from the other fight, but it had been so much fun! He hadn't even expected to be able to continue in the tournament after the way that fight had ended, and yet here he was! It was so exhilarating to once again be fighting someone who he didnt know and had no real idea of his abilities. It was fights like these that tested the endurance and skill of a true blooded warrior.

His opponent was a guy this time. Bran smiled Broadly, and did a few practice lunges and a kick. Yeah, his blood was pumping again, he couldnt wait. He grinned broadly and waved over at Asher "Hey! Lets Make this a really fun fight ok? Don't pull any punches!"

((Found the thread! Time to rock XD))

Asher's first fight had ended inconclusively; neither he nor Sho had been knocked out, but he had been awarded the fight by judges' decision. A win was a win, but Asher was hoping for something a little more decisive in this, his second fight.

"Guide my hands and my blade this day, O God, that to the glory of Your name I might defeat all who stand in my path..."

He finished the whispered lines of his litany, and then sized up his next opponent. Tall, and fairly thin looking -- Asher was definitely giving up a height advantage in this one. If this guy played the height advantage well, it could make things difficult for Asher.

"Don't worry," he called out to him, "I'm looking forward to a good fight myself... I wouldn't think of taking it easy."

He punched the air a few times, and then stepped back into a fighting stance. He'd let the young man make the first move; and he'd try to wait until he revealed his weapons.

technically this took longer than 72 hours for you to post in. which means Bran gets to decide whether to advance instantly or bother fighting, but either way he gets one auto hit.

keep your eye on threads and post promptly.

Bran, pm me your decision.

Bran tilted his head a bit as the man said what seemed to be a prayer. How odd. It was peculiarly odd to Bran that the man was praying to the divine when...well...it was kinda right in front of him. Bran did have some demi-god status at this point, or kinda...godling maybe? All he knew is the gods decided that he was worthy of his portfolio for now, thus keeping him in existence.

Bran kicked his shadow and with a screeching sound Hanfod came into existence and he caught the blades in his hands. He smiled as he thought about it and suddenly the blades changed, no longer appearing like masses of steel, but clouds of feathers blowing where the blades would have been. Fear would be the first course in this fight

He launched himself at Asher, bring him in reach of his blades and cross slashed the blades through Asher's chest, trying to make the fear as strong as he could.

As Bran began his advance, Asher took a step back and braced himself, preparing to launch a counterattack when the got near. He was expecting a barehanded attack -- what he got was.... Swords with blades made out of swirling feathers? So this kid wasn't a martial artist, after all. Well then, he'd need to ready his defenses.

"Volligvetrauen! Heiligseifer!"

At his command, the cross pendant around his neck changed shape into a golden one-handed sword, and the chain bracelet around his left wrist took the shape of a golden shield with ornate wing patterns framing its jeweled center. Steel on steel, or... Steel on feathers, perhaps -- Asher was ready to meet him head-on.

But he was too slow.

The two blades met his chest unhindered, in what should have been a death-dealing blow. For a moment, it felt as if Asher had blacked out... But when his vision returned, he felt unharmed. What exactly had those weapons done to him? As he looked around the battlefield, he could see no immediate sign of Bran. What he did see, however, was his father, across the way, dressed in the full regalia of a Knight of the Grand Cross.

When did he get here? What did he want? The look on his face said that he wasn't here for anything good.

"You've embarrassed me, Asher," he spoke in a cold and harsh tone, "You were struck down by that young man in a single blow... You couldn't even offer him any meaningful resistance? Such weakness is... Unbecoming, to say the least, of an aspiring Knight. The Grand Council has sent me to revoke your rights as a member of the Order."

Asher's blood went cold. He still tried to piece things together... What had happened in the fight? How did he lose so quickly? His memories were so fuzzy... Nearly paralyzed by the terrifying prospect of his own father stripping him of his rank, a nauseating pit formed in his stomach, and his knees trembled, threatening to give out beneath him. Lowering himself to one knee, he stared blankly at the ground as he breathed heavily.

This... This just... How could I let this happen...? How could I... fail him like this..?"

Bran watched as the man crumpled in front of him. It was always interesting to see how people reacted to Hanfod's power. The intensity of the would be cut determined the pain or the strength of the memories or visions brought on, and this man had taken a hit directly to his chest, so they were bound to be unpleasant. He wondered what he was thinking about on his knees.

Bran dismissed his smaller blade and grabbed the large buster sword like blade in both hands. It was time to wake his opponent up he felt. He raised the blade up and then swung it as hard as he could towards his opponents side with the large flat of the blade. It wouldn't cut, but it could do some serious damage with the speed and weight of the blade.

Asher couldn't believe it. He'd hardly been at Hyakuji for any length of time, and he'd already managed to fail so horrendously that his very membership in the Order was at stake. Not only that, but they'd sent his own father to deliver the news -- clearly, the Order was disappointed with him.

He felt a sensation of nervousness. Something like a feeling of danger -- as if something was about to hit him.Was it that emotional pit of disappointment? No... And the sudden SLAM against his side that sent the young Paladin tumbling off to the side suddenly snapped him back into reality. After several awkward and painful rolls, he pushed himself up to his feet, looking at Bran with a visible expression of disbelief.

"What the hell was that...? That power you just used on me..."

The good news was that Asher's chest hadn't been cut open by that first trike. The bad new was that he had now seen a side of Bran's power that downright terrified him. The vision of his father may have been fake, but this power was very real. And Asher was determined to get on the offensive, and quickly, to avoid having to take the brunt of it again.

Gritting his teeth, he advanced quickly at Bran, sword twirling once in his right hand, just for show, as he grew nearer. Under his breath, he whispered the words of the Sacred Scriptures, preparing his attack as he closed in to melee range. Twitching his sword arm to feign an attack, he instead thrust his shield forward to try to push Bran off-balance, and then followed up with a powerful vertical sword swing that would release an arc-shaped beam of burning holy energy along the path of the blade's cut.

When He felt the blade connect he leaned against his blade watching as Asher stumbled up. Bran had a big grin on his face as if he couldn't be happier or had no cares in the world, regardless of whether his opponent had weapons as well. He simply slung his huge blade onto his should and chuckled slightly. "Good to see you're back with us, you were panting so heavily I wondered if someone could die of fear~" There was a musical quality to Bran's voice.

Bran wasn't one to keep secrets so he just chuckled again. "Its part of my divine power, I can make these blades cut into your heart and mind rather than flesh and blood. However much I would have damaged you, the worse your visions of fear will be...hehe you must have had it pretty bad It was weird that Bran who was normally so quiet now was cheerfully talking. Fighting really had an effect on him.

He smiled and lifted his Blade as Asher Rose and came at him. Bran smiled and moved back going to block the attack with his blade. Instead getting hit with the force of the shield sent Bran flying backward off his feet. He saw the light heading towards him and pressed his blade off the ground to move slightly to the side, still managing to cut his arm. Bad times for that arm.

He fell to the ground and rolled to his feet. He let out a sound that shouldn't normally come from a human like a Hawk diving for a kill and then threw his large blade like a boomerang at Asher, running behind it prepared to give a left hook to Asher's face.
---72 hour Autohit Edit--
The blade slams into Asher's stomach knocking him back and cutting into his shirt, however, cutting is limited based on Bran's followup attack knowing him down to the ground.

Bran dismisses and resummons his blade to bring it down on the form of Asher on the floor.
