She could have easily dodged the crude punch, had it not been for the shock of suddenly seeing an unmanned bike suddenly coming out of nowhere and protected Spike! She had one fleeting moment seeing the motorcycle flying past her, intercepting her sword before she suddenly saw stars.

WHAM!!!

The hit struck her squarely in the face, quite literally sending her flying backwards a couple of feet, her swords slipped out of her hands and fell with a clatter right next to her.

...

She's not responding...

...Spike won?

Apparently not.

"You... bastard...!" The girl's limp figure suddenly became tense, her hands trailed around the ground in search for her swords, grasping at their hilts tightly the moment she found them. She pushed herself up to her feet, the two swords streaking on the ground with an ominous sound of steel scraping against rock. But that's not the worst of it. In her eyes, you could barely find any shred of sympathy or mercy anymore. Screw the rules, she's gonna murder him this instant.

She didn't waste any more time. The girl raised her swords, drawing back each and every single sword-fighting experience she had accumulated for seven-hundred years...

A small grin cracked on her face.

SLASH SLASH--SLASH SLASH SLASH!!!

She's only using two swords, why the hell does it look like she's using five at the same time?! Her hands became an unidentified blur, along with her swords, as she performed a feat that's supposedly impossible with even a normal humans lifetime's training of swordsmanship. One after another, almost at the exact same time, her swords were swung around five times, all off them aimed towards Spike from five different angles, forming the particular form of a star...!

REALLY improbable swordsmanship

"What the hell!? This was a one-on-one!" Spike scoffed at the Bike, but he knew he did need the bastard's help. He didn't know how he would have stopped that sword otherwise. He looked at his opponent spread on the ground. So, her offense was balanced with such a weak constitution? As he prepared to make a comment solidifying his victory she got back to her feet, ominously dragging her blades.

Was this an attack of desperation? She looked serious. Fine. He'd go all out. He threw himself onto the bike, facing her head on. Spike wouldn't run away and he wouldn't cower. He was an arrogant man and he had no intention. "RRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" Spike roared out as the bike shot forward right back at the swordswoman.

It was like she didn't realize she was up against the invincible Spike Ito...

The invincible Spike Ito who was about to be cut to bits by two swords.

But her 5 strikes never came to fruition as Spike caught the blades with his left shoulder and right shin respectively. His left arm was once again rendered useless in these battles, though he held the blade with all the strength he had left in it, and caught between the two blade he doubted he'd get much mobility out of his right, the blade deep in his flesh. His eyes were still alive, him filled with thrill of the fight. Even if he wasn't sure how he'd hit back.

While he was stopped there, unable to continue his charge the bike was under no such circumstance and seemed intent on running the girl down.

"Why don't you just die already?!" The half-phantom yelled in frustration as Spike completely stopped her attacks at the cost of his own body. Still, she's had enough of being surprised of his extreme level of rashness and crude tricks. One way to describe him is that he's very forward with everything. So... yeah, after you get used to his suicidal attacks, there's really nothing for him to surprise her with anymore.

Let's take out this damn bike first.

Abandoning her attempt as her attacks were completely stopped she immediately pulled Hakurouken away, making sure to slice in deeper into his limbs as she did so. Yes, she's that sadistic. The girl only needed that sword for one thing. The bike's moving fast, albeit in a completely straight line to crash directly into her. Predictable trajectory, but considering how he actually yelled at the bike earlier for saving him, what are the chances that it has it's own sentience and can probably think to save itself from its impending doom?

Not that she cares.

They're both arrogant, they're both reckless, they just express it differently.

The girl quickly crouched low to the ground, holding the sword firmly in her hand, backing it off with her other arm as she stared directly into the headlight of the bike like a matador going against a bull. Distance estimation, near... close... she's bad with numbers so this will have to do... very close...!

The tire was about a foot from her face before she tossed herself to the sides, narrowly avoiding being flattened by the bike. As the bike passed right next to her though, she immediately plunged her swords into the bike...!

She wouldn't do this if she wasn't sure it would wreck the damned two-wheeled construct.

She pulled the swords away. So he couldn't really use his right leg or left arm. He wrapped the chain about his right. Never hurt to hit a bit harder. Spike focused as he put his weight on his left leg and kicked out, diving at her as soon as she sidestepped the bike. Twisting he threw a heavy punch with his right the moment she stabbed forward. "I'M INVINCIBLE!"

The bike turned. That didn't save it and it didn't do it to save itself, as the blades slashed into it's right side. The engine made strange and obviously ungood sounds as it turned around. It had intended to loop around and slam into her again, but that clearly wasn't about to happen as the bike clomped away, retreating. Maimed, but not killed.

"Not a chance in hell I'm giving up." She was still underestimating Spike's arrogance. Sure he was a bleeding and injured mess, but that was no reason to give up. It just meant that he had to do the same to her! Without that attitude he would have been himself.

"Then die,"

She hadn't lived for seven hundred years fighting for her life and came up with nothing. Constant vigilance, that's what she always told herself back then, never let your guard down, never forget, never falter, never assume that you're safe, no matter what. It's a jaded way of thinking in this modern world that she seemed to have lost as of late. But right now it's all coming back to her. Since she was released from her seal this is probably the first time she had ever seriously gotten in a fight with anyone.

She couldn't stop the grin from appearing on her face. Who would have thought that an idiot without any powers would give her so much fun?

He was strong, but there's two things that he doesn't have over her. Speed and agility. Two aspects that she excels in even without her powers activated. It's one of the thing that makes her so feared of during her time of exile seven hundred years ago. One moment she was there, next she was gone, leaving nothing but a bloody death trail of destruction in her wake. Just like a phantom.

The girl raised her other hand, placing it in the way of his chain-wrapped fist. The moment she felt it connect to her skin she pushed her head away just out of reach of his punch. It's helpful to have such a small frame. Makes it easy to get past the opponent's attacking range. The girl quickly closed their distance to the point where there's less than a few inches separating them before HEADBUTTING HIM IN THE FACE!

Not her typical way of dealing damage, but it'll have to do.

His leg limped. His left arm dangled by his side. And his punch was caught. The girl's came back at him. He didn't expect her to come back at him so bluntly. She'd seemed more refined. She probably wasn't used to this sort of thing. She clearly didn't realize the truth of what she'd just done...

Nobody wins in a headbutt!

Spike's head slammed straight back at hers, their foreheads meeting. His head rattled as he took the blow head on.

Okay, OW! That hurts like HELL! The girl seriously made one hell of a fatal mistake by thinking that she could copy those people in the television and knock him out with a headbutt. She was unceremoniously knocked back from the heavy hit to the head, her vision spinning for a good length of time as she tried to recover her bearing. Dammit... you can't fight an idiot by being an idiot... the bigger idiot always wins. Especially when all they have is a skull so thick they can practically shatter rocks.

Well, fuck this. Just beat him to death! "HAAAAAAA!!!" That was... rare. For the first time in her life she's actually fired up, yelling at the top of her lung as she darted back towards Spike with her fist pulled back, ready to throw a punch at his guts!

Pride? Pah. What are you talking about, she's just having fun. She can't lose now.

She charged him. Was it mockery? She would regret it if it was. He couldn't charge. He saw it coming a mile away. Spike was going to counter her punch. He had to rely on having the perfect timing here. It was a chance and he would admit he was in trouble at this point. So he would go all out.

As she closed the distance Spike took advantage of his larger size and longer reach and threw his counter. He couldn't shift his weight and throw it all in, so he could only rely on getting the timing as near perfect as he could. "HRAAAH!"
There's still a chain wrapped around his fist

A hit from that punch would have knocked her out completely. It certainly hit, it certainly struck her head with a sickening CRACK, it did indeed almost knocked her out. She would have been disoriented for a long enough time for him to start beating her down to a pulp. The moment she was struck her absurdly powerful regenerative capability kicked in, immediately recovering her from an otherwise decisive hit. The girl was struck back, faltering for a few moments of dizziness before continuing with her punch, switching her aim to his throat instead!

She can carry that sword around like it was a stick, wonder how much force would that punch have?

Spike was glad. He'd managed a perfect hit. The odds had been a bit uncertain but he had won it all. His opponent went back. In that case. It would be alright for him to go down too, right? Spike's body started to go limp, as he slowly fell down toward the ground.

Having a throat was Spike's one true weakness. As a man he should have been burlier and had no neck. Fortunately his short fall meant he got smashed in the chin instead. Spike fell back, landing spread eagle on the ground with a clear thump. His eyes opened as he stared at the sky. He tasted metal as blood welled in his mouth.

Would he stop here?

She... seriously doubted it. Dude's been coming up again and again all this time and he suddenly decided to fall down now?

The girl wasn't sure what to make of him. She spat out the blood that had been welling in her mouth since he first struck her head, wiping the little residue off her lips. The half-phantom slowly took a couple of steps back, keeping her eyes on him just in case he suddenly jumped back into action. Was that it?

"...Oi," The girl muttered, placing her hands on her hips, apparently lowering her guards. "Wanna call it a draw?"

It's probably a mistake to ask that from someone with such fighting spirit. There's always the other option of cleaving him in half right here right now with her Roukanken, but...

Kind of a waste to kill someone like him. She had fun fighting, for once.

Spike struggled as he rose up, trying to avoid putting pressure of his injured limbs. "Normally, I wouldn't mind calling it a draw after all of that..." Spike's admission might come as a surprise, but for him just getting a chance to go out in a full on fight was good enough for him. He was bull headed and didn't like stopping half way but they could always fight later.

"But I have to fight in the next round!" He'd decided that from the start. He just had to show his resolve. Maybe she would accept it and back down. If she didn't... His left hand moved awkwardly as he balled up his fist. Then he would need to show her the full extent of his force! He would go all out and he would win it. He didn't know how but he would win, but he wasn't going to lose.

Is this what they call pride? Something that could push people to fight to the very end even at the cost of their own lives? She had seen it in action a lot of times before, but it still baffles her to see them running around throwing their lives away just to defeat her. I mean... what's the point of trying to win if you're gonna die anyway? Well, okay so they probably wouldn't play around with lives here in this tournament (ignoring her murderous actions from earlier), but still.

She seriously can't understand it. Pride? What's he expecting in his next fight? More fights? She can... probably understand that, it's fun. She's having fun now. But... isn't this enough already? Either of them could stop right now, both of them could have a rematch some other time if the only reason they're in this tournament was to fight for the heck of it...

But neither wanted to give up. Nope, not even Youma, who is probably the less stupid of the two. What is she fighting for? Isn't it just to satisfy her craving for blood that had been kept vaulted inside her for who knows how long since she was sealed? Yea, after her first initial outbreak seven hundred years ago she uh... sorta got addicted to it.

Well, yes she thought it was just to fulfill some fighting fun she had been missing out as of late but... was it really?

...

"Fine. It's your loss," He was sure he could win. She could smell the flaming inferno of his confidence, blazing like a tower of lava spewing from a volcano. Maybe she's just imagining it but it doesn't hurt to exaggerate sometimes. The girl bent down, taking the dropped Hakurouken from the ground, holding it by the razor sharp blade and positioning it at her waist. She didn't take out the sheath earlier, her mistake, so her own hand would have to do. Her face was impassive as blood slowly trickled down her hand as she gripped the blade tight, shifting one of her foot forward and turned around to face Spike sideways, bending down ever so slightly, taking the stance of a swords(wo)man practicing iaido. However this is no practice. This is going to be the real deal.

If all this is driven by pride, then it's an insult and a mockery to hold back, right?

"Make your move," The girl mouthed, barely moving a centimeter from her current position, eyes narrowed like a hawk, watching him for any sign of movement like a hungry predator.

Spike couldn't charge, even if he wanted to. And you better believe he wanted to. He could jump, but that was different. Spike wanted to run at her. She'd swing her blade all of a sudden but he was sure that he could get past that if he was running. A dead stop, then a second strike. It would work out. But he couldn't charge!

There it was. A revelation came to him. He pulled the chain off of his hand. Spike had no choice but to use... LONG RANGE! He chucked the chain at her as hard as he could trowing with only his arm, not a second thought in his mind. If it hit her he was int he clear, and if she struck out to stop it, well, it was a chain so it would probably unravel and hit her anyways.
Throwing your sword always works. Shame this is a chain.

Well, yeah, shame it's a chain. It certainly wouldn't work as well as throwing something that has its center of mass flailing about randomly in unpredictable pattern, making something like a chain pretty hard to toss in a straight line trajectory.

Not that it mattered. She saw something that can be exploited, and would certainly make her look cool doing so.

The half-phantom released her hand on the blade, swinging her sword forward to intercept the chain, but she didn't stop there. She continued swinging it in a small circle, wrapping the chain around her sword from the base to the tip, forming a makeshift sword sheath.

Just what she needed.

Once again the girl positioned Hakurouken by her waist, crouching low by the ground before-

SLASH!!!

-in a blink of an eye she had already closed the distance between the two. Inches from touching each other, inches from victory, inches from loss, sword already drawn from her makeshift sheath and swung towards him. If he decides to punch or elbow her, she'll slice his arm. If he decides to kick or knee her she'll target his leg. If he decides to charge her she'll slice at him wherever her sword would take the least amount of time to reach his body.

Shame. She wanted to see that stupid, strong and brave side of him in this final exchange. She could smell it, the dying want to show off his manly side, but... maybe not today.

"Let's have a rematch sometimes," The girl managed to mutter in a small voice with a small smile, before her sword struck...

Improbable Level Swordsmanship
