Lucidus was a tough one, Jen would give him that after her knee strike landed, clearly hurting him but not enough to incapacitate him, as from the corner of her eye the purple-haired girl noticed the blade he was holding dissipated, to be replaced by an arrow in his other hand, which the boy used to attempt to stab her in the shoulder. Still maintaining her grapple on Lucidus, Jen attempted to wrestle his hand aside, grunting in pain as in her struggle the stab missed slightly to gouge her shoulder instead of going right into it. Changing her position, Jen attempted to place her hands on Lucidus' chest, while simultaneously bringing a leg up to attempt to entangle her leg with one of Lucidus' own, while shoving hard with both hands in an attempt to knock Lucidus over by pushing him above his center of mass, while her leg creates a tripping point beneath the boy's center of mass. Jumping back, Jen removed from her vest pouches a small vial of alcohol before pulling out the stopper with her teeth, pouring its contents all over the bleeding wound, giving a yelp of pain in the process. And with a loud ripping noise, the purple-haired girl tore off the sleeve of her shirt, before wrapping up the wound firmly as a makeshift bandage. Pausing briefly to glance at her other, uninjured arm, Jen tore off the remaining sleeve to make her shirt more symmetrical. Raising her fists in a fighting stance again, Jen watched Lucidus intently for his next move as the mist began to clear... Edited by Lawman, Feb 7 2012, 07:51 AM.

This girl was skilled, Lucidus at least had to giver her that much. After his blade managed to land but only gouging the shoulder. Granted going right through it would be a bit messy but nevertheless, he would have to do with just that. As soon as the blade landed Lucidus was knocked over in another blur of quick movement from Jennifer. This allowed the girl to get some space away from him, in all reasoning that was okay with him. He still was more proficient at range then he was in close combat. However he didn't know what other tricks that his opponent had, he would have to play it carefully lest he be caught extremely off guard. Lucidus picked himself up off the ground and dusted himself off. Pain was shooting through his body and many of his joints ached from the various attacks that Jennifer had hit him with. It was about time that he returned the favour with even heavier firepower then he had been using previously. In a small flash his bow appeared and he formed a new arrow in his hand, this was slightly larger then the previous one that he had summoned. Quietly he muttered "Uranicus Sparsum Telum." He was bringing out the heavier fire power en mass. He let go of the arrow and as soon as it was let go a loud crack was heard. The arrow split into 50 normal sized arrows which quickly flew towards Jennifers rough location. These arrows however would not tear through his opponent at most they would just bluntly knock into the opponent if they hit. He didn't want to kill anyone in the tournament after all. |

Jen maintained a watchful anticipation as Lucidus picked himself up from the ground and dusted himself off before conjuring his bow once more as the mist cleared, a new arrow in his hand, letting it fly as the purple-haired girl moved in readiness to evade the projectile of light. Only to have it split in mid-flight into (by her estimation) fifty identical arrows. "Well... shit," Jen muttered as she dived to avoid the incoming hail of projectiles. "Crap!" Jen shouted as the impacts from the barrage of projectiles rained against her and sent her rolling along the ground. Jen coughed as she tried to pick herself up, clearly hurting from the assault. However, she wasn't about to give up just yet. Since her opponent excelled at ranged attacks - the best way to screw with them was to take away their line of sight. Reaching into her vest pouches, the purple-haired girl removed a pair of canisters, pulling out the safety pins on her homemade smoke grenades, before tossing them into the center of the stage, creating a dense pall of white smoke!

"Tsk" A damned smoke screen, Lucidus scoffed at the tactic that his opponent was now using. While it was damned intelligent he disliked having to fight someone who was intelligent enough to use such tactics. After all, it meant th at he had to think quickly on his feet as well. Lucidus wondered what he could do to avoid running into the smoke screen after all, she probably wouldn't have done it without some way to see through it. Lucidus moved away from the smoke screen, so far his opponent had shown a lack of real ranged attacks so that was in his favour at least. His bow disappeared, he was planning on waiting for his opponent to make the first move. After all that seemed like a more intelligent thing to do then to just. He glanced at the smoke cloud, he was more then confident that his opponent was planning to do something unusual to get him off guard. He was ready in case something strange actually did happen and he had a plan in case it did. |

Keeping a crouching stance to ensure that she stayed hidden, the next move was to test whether her opponent would be taking any baits, so to speak. Picking up a stone from the ground Jen tossed the stone to a position a few meters to her left, making an audible "thud" as it landed. |

Lucidus heard the audibe thud of the stone hittign the ground and he wasn't sure if it was Jennifer herself or some diversionary tactic. He couldn't risk either move that he was planning however. Lucidus considered what to do in this situation. It seemed like she was waiting for him to come into the smoke, that wasn't going to happen in a million years as far as Lucidus was concerned. However there wasn't anything he thought about sending a scout in to check out where she was. A flash of gold occured and Fenrus appeared standing on the ground. He had recovered from the damage that he had sustained earlier in the fight and instantly he knew Lucidus's instructions. Slowly and carefully the wolf entered into the smoke carefully walking through towards where the noise had been made. Due to his status as a spirit being he couldn't really permanently die. Also it was the most effective way for Lucidus to find out what she was doing in the smokescreen without placing himself in danger. |

Emptying the contents of her pouches, Jen sifted through the various chemical reagents, electronic components and various metal and plastic odds and ends with a pouch of tools by her side. Screws, duct tape, fast-setting super glue, these would be of paramount importance in helping her put together something to allow her to tackle her opponent on a more or less even footing. Jen's eyes narrowed as she held up an electromagnet, 9V batteries, coils of copper wires and some stainless steel nails among various gizmos. Not realizing that Lucidus had just summoned his familiar, Jen got down to work - assembling the various spare parts into a hastily put-together single-stage coilgun, sometimes also known as a Gauss Gun. And the icing on the cake? Spare parts disassembled from a thermal imaging device to create a thermal scope, to allow her to aim through the smoke screen. With a clicking noise, Jen loaded the nails into the breach of her contraption. Due to limitation on the parts available to her, she couldn't quite create something more powerful - but it was (based on her calculations) still powerful enough to shoot the nails to embed in flesh even if it couldn't be compared to firearms.
