[Takes place after "Medals, a Museum and a Mysterious Right Arm"]

"Not that I'm stopping you, Taiga," Ryuuji was saying over the little brown-haired girl's shoulder as she strode confidently in through the front door of BOARD HQ and took to the stairway, "It's just that I think you should be more subtle about it. We owe him, and if we want him to do us a favor then a little courtesy will go a long way!"

Taiga scoffed, stalking up the stairs to keep her energy up rather than take the elevator and risk losing the motivation she'd gathered along the way. "Courtesy? This is Leo Emmerich we're talking about, Ryuuji! Leo! He's good for his brains but that's about it. He's a total spineless wimp and if you want him to get anything done in a reasonable amount of time, you need to motivate him! Going easy on that guy won't work."

"I'm not so sure. He seems to be doing quite well in Hyakuji, so I'm sure if you just asked him nicely he'd do it for you."

With a grin, Taiga reached the last step and made her way towards Leo's office. "No way, Ryuuji. Besides, I want to do it this way. It's more my style." Before Ryuuji could protest any more than he already was Taiga gave the massive metal composite door her swiftest kick, managing to destroy the latch mechanism in the process of flinging it open. She intended to knock it straight off of its hinges but unfortunately the door stayed firmly attached to the wall on the other side. She walked right up to the big desk and slammed her right hand down on top of it to get the attention of the man who sat in that big chair on the other side.

"Leo Emmerich, I want you to make me a new Rider System, now!"

And once more, Leo Emmerich was just in his office...baking cake for whatever reason. The man had certainly gotten strange during all his time running BOARD, and even as the door to his office was nearly broken by Taiga's rude entrance he still continued to work on his cake, slowly beginning to decorate it after having freshly pulled it out of the oven. He wasn't threatened by Taiga anymore, and never had been since his founding of BOARD, it was due time that he put her back in her place...it wasn't good to have such wild Riders on his payroll.

"It's nice that you have a DESIRE for a new system." he began, not looking up from his cake at all. "But in order to develop a new system, I'm going to need payment for the research." he continued...well it was true. BOARDs funding was tapped at the moment looking to OOOs and the Cell Medals, using the potential from them to build new systems...and to support Kazuna and Ankh, of course. And yet, Taiga wanted something entirely new...no, she was -demanding- one. That just wouldn't do.

"Of course I will be giving you a discount because we're such good friends." once more he just refused to converse with Taiga properly as he strolled over to another part of his desk, writing down several calculations.

"Let's see...fee for looking up a new power source...fee for containing that power source, fee for weapons and support items..." he began, adding the totals up, before factoring in the discount he mentioned. "I'll using your Zeronos belt as a bartering chip...and factoring in the size of your DESIRE...and taking some of that discount away to fix my door...."

He held out the paper in front of Taiga...the number was ridiculous, there were just too many zeroes in it! The Zeronos belt and her so called desire didn't even dent the total cost of making a new belt!

30 Minutes Earlier...

Taiga hit her fist against the railing of the ZeroLiner's rear balcony watching the rainbow-hazed desert landscape fly by. Yet another precious centimeter lost and hardly anything to show for it. That Luna guy and those freaks earlier were hardly even bothered by me. It took everything I had to even scratch them. I... don't have enough power. Even though I have to pay so much for it, it's not enough! Again, she punched the railing. Ryuuji stood at the door to the balcony, arms crossed and gazing down at the girl he called his master. He knew she was feeling useless... and that feeling weak was what drove her mad. He wanted to do something for her, but what could he do? She already had everything he had to give.

"If only Leo could do something..."

Taiga straightened up. "...What did you say?

"Oh, sorry, just thinking aloud. Leo always seems to have answers for these kinds of things, so..."

"You're right. No, you're exactly right. Ryuuji, you're a genius!" The thought of Kazuna suddenly getting a new transformation after crying about not being able to become Blade flowed back to her and she had her epiphany. "I'll just get Leo to make me a new belt! He should be able to do that much!"

Present...

"I don't know what desire has to do with the cost of anything, but I think you misunderstood me, Leo," Taiga replied rather calmly considering just how ridiculous the number held in front of her was. She had no concept whatsoever of how much it cost to invent a new Rider System, but considering she had been given one by a mysterious benefactor and had seen Leo create the Faiz Gear out of scraps while living in a shoddy apartment back in Niwa there was no way it was this much. Even if it was, she wouldn't believe it.

Taiga leapt onto Leo's desk, crushing the cake he chose to decorate instead of paying attention to her with her foot and grabbing him by the tie so he could be sure she was really serious this time. Being as short as she was she had no way of grabbing him like that without standing on something, so destroying that annoying cake was a bonus. "I didn't say I wanted to buy a Rider System. I said I want one, now. You're not doing anything except baking cakes anyway, so I'm sure you have the time!"

"Taiga! Stop that right now! I'm so sorry, Leo, she means well but you know how she can get..."

"Shut up, Ryuuji! This is between me and the nerd. Now, what's your answer? And let's hear the right one this time, eh?"

Since Taiga decided to be serious all of a sudden, so would he really. Again with the assumption that all Leo did was sit in the office all day doing whatever he pleased. While it was a half truth, it just showed that Taiga had no idea who she was messing with. Still, he kept his composure for the most part, despite being in a compromising position and losing a cake.

"And this is why I view your desire as small." Leo said simply enough. "You want power....for what? It's pathetic really." he was so confident in himself right now, despite being held by his tie. "If that's all you want a belt for, then quite frankly, you don't even deserve to be a Riotrooper." Of course, before Taiga could do anything, she'd only hear one last word out of him.

"Henshin."

[OPEN UP]

He was...wearing the Leangle Buckle. It was hidden underneath his coat, and well, upon command Taiga would be literally slapped aside by the projection of the Change Spider card, one that drew itself towards Leo and transformed him into Kamen Rider Leangle. It was supposed to be in storage, but he kept it on hand for situations like this.

[BLIZZARD]

And without missing a beat, he'd swipe a card through the Rouzer, pointing the staff that had materialized upon his transformation at Taiga's prone body on the floor, freezing everything but her head.

"You have never been in a position to negotiate with me, what makes you think I'd be afraid of you now?" he began simply enough. "Your power amounts to just this, someone with no control and making it worthless, even Kazuna's better than you in that regard." he continued, standing over her. Kazuna had something to fight for, someONE to fight for, that is how he measured desires and therefore spent more time figuring out the medal system so a repeat of the Blade incident didn't occur.

"Why should -I- give you what you want, when I have all the cards now? Why should I help someone whose desire is nothing more than a pathetic little girl wanting to beat someone up?"

...He was mad.

This was the first time Leo had ever gotten mad.

Taiga's eye twitched at being called worth less than a Riotrooper, those silly grunts who had even been easy fodder for her Zeronos weaponry. They were just traditional power armor with no special energy attached. All the Rider devices Taiga knew about had some drawback or another, some limitation or flaw that in turn gave them much more strength than they had any right having. Kiva was vampiric. Faiz was buggy. Zeronos took part of Taiga's body away. Yet in return, they granted the user the strength they wanted. Riotroopers, on the other hand, were nothing more than armor and a weapon.

Yet when she was about to spit in his face, he said something she hadn't expected him to say. A phrase she hadn't heard Leo utter since Niwa, one that shouldn't have been said unless he were holding a cell phone in his hand.

"Henshin."

"...Taiga!!"

[OPEN UP]

Taiga didn't even see it coming. A flash of blue light hurled her clean off her feet and gravity did the rest, slamming her to the floor a few feet away. She landed on her back and quickly pushed herself up from the floor to try to stand again but was too late. She only got halfway up before being encased in a coffin of ice that left only her head exposed. It was so complete that she couldn't even move a nanometer in any direction, giving her no way to store potential energy to break it. She could only glare at Leangle with all the fire she couldn't use.

"You have never been in a position to negotiate with me," Leangle said simply, staring down at the little ice sculpture on his floor. "What makes you think I'd be afraid of you now? Your power amounts to just this, someone with no control and making it worthless, even Kazuna's better than you in that regard. Why should -I- give you what you want, when I have all the cards now? Why should I help someone whose desire is nothing more than a pathetic little girl wanting to beat someone up?"

Taiga couldn't answer. It wasn't that she didn't have an answer, it was that she didn't want to give that answer. She needed her pride to survive. Without it, she wasn't sure she could live. She had never really gotten along with Leo and that wasn't going to start any time soon especially now that he had encased her in ice. There was no way he was going to tell him the real reason why she wanted this device. She wasn't going to break down and say something pathetic like, "I need it to protect everyone I care about from going through another tragedy!" or "Without it I can't keep this world safe!" No, she would just continue being Taiga Aisaka, who wanted something better than Zeronos because she had reached her limit and wanted to go beyond it. It was all for her.

"Think what you want! Zeronos isn't enough anymore. You've got cameras all over, don't you!? That's why you know about Kazuna and those medals already! So you must know that I need to be stronger! Stop playing stupid games in your little office and do something for once!"

Ryuuji at first wasn't sure whose side to take, watching Taiga get knocked aside by Leo like that. He knew that Taiga started it, he just didn't know if she had deserved it. Seeing her stuck in ice like that, too, made him want to help. Yet watching as she just kept yelling at him, commanding him to do this and that... he couldn't stand idly by anymore! Without a word he walked over to Taiga's frozen form and vanished in a flash of blue light that covered the little girl for a moment then disappeared completely. Though she was still stuck in the ice cage, her hair had streaks of blue running through it.

"I'm sorry, Leo. I didn't mean to be so forceful. I just... can't let these... things keep ruining lives! If we're going to protect anyone... we need something more. I'm afraid that...Zeronos simply doesn't stand a chance. I'm begging you, Leo... please reconsider. For everyone's sake!"

RYUUJIIII! Get out of my body RIGHT NOW! Get out, get out, GET OUT! Normally, Taiga could force Ryuuji out with little effort. She could re-assert herself at any time, preventing him from taking over. Right now, though... she found herself completely unable to make him budge. For the first time, Taiga couldn't force Ryuuji away.

After all, this was the first time Ryuuji wasn't letting her win.

"And it's those medals that are taking up most of my research funding right now." Leo began, not transforming back though Leo took a seat regardless, watching RyuGa's powerless form as he decided to tell a simple story. "You think you have it bad just getting shorter? Kazuna ended up losing something more due to my lack of planning on the Blade system." this was why he didn't want to make a new Rider system, not yet anyway.

"She was inches away from no longer being human, the Undead system eventually showing its true colors as each use overwrote her DNA. If we hadn't sealed the system away she would have become the very thing she swore to fight." he continued, shedding some light on the situation. "Every day I look for a way to fix the damage I have done to her, it's stopped now but the effect still remains...just one more transformation with the Blade system could destroy her." he was guilty.

It was all his fault such a small girl was forced to become that...and that's why he respected her desire to keep going. "I want to make sure those medals are safe, it's the least I can do for her. She still wants to fight, not for herself but for others." He wasn't about to let Kazuna destroy herself again because she was using something beyond human comprehension.

"But fine, at least one half of you is honest about things." Leo continued, going to his desk and pulling out what appeared to be a contract. He was going to make Taiga the belt regardless but...

"Since you're not a formal employee, you have to just sign this and you'll get the belt when its done." he stated simply. "It has the conditions you need to abide to work off the payment for the development of the new system, that is, if you can trust someone who makes something with no guarantee for user safety." he continued, disengaging the Leangle transformation and thus causing the ice to disappear.

"You'll need to thank Ryuji, by the way. His own desire just halved how long you need to actually work." and with that, he held out the papers for Taiga to sign...

Without control of her body Taiga had no choice but to listen to what Leangle had to say. He filled her in on the reason Kazuna had been defenseless and unable to become Blade back at the museum. Taiga didn't know when this had all happened but since the first time she'd seen Kazuna since coming back was there, it must have been before she got back to Hyakuji. To think that Kazuna hadn't chickened out! Taiga thought her tears at not transforming were out of self-pity when in fact they were out of desperation. It wasn't that Kazuna was afraid of transforming, she couldn't or she would die. Or... become something else.

So that was it. Leo must have felt guilty that a system he developed nearly killed a little girl who was trying to use it for the betterment of humanity. Now she understood why he seemed to care more about those medals than he did Taiga's plight. Even she had to admit that her problems paled in comparison to Kazuna's though she wouldn't actually admit to it openly.

Leangle moved to open a drawer in his desk and removed a legal-sized sheet of paper the writing of which appeared to be some sort of formal contract. "Since you're not a formal employee, you have to just sign this and you'll get the belt when it's done. It has the conditions you need to abide to work off the payment for the development of the new system, that is, if you can trust someone who makes something with no guarantee for user safety." With that he closed and removed the belt buckle, cancelling his transformation and by extention melting the ice holding RyuuGa in place. "You'll need to thank Ryuuji, by the way. His own desire just halved how long you need to actually work."

RyuuGa stood up straight and stared at the contract though she made no actual move to step forward and sign. This was because Ryuuji wasn't willing to sign something in her name. If she really wanted this... it had to be of her own accord. All he could do was force her to listen to what Leo had to say.

I'll sign it. I don't have a choice, he's the only one who can do this as much as I hate to admit it. Go wait on the ZeroLiner, I'll be there later. A brief flash of blue light surrounded Taiga again and vanished, leaving her with her usual brown hair minus the highlights. Taiga Aisaka stepped forward, took a pen from Leo's desk and signed above the line on the bottom of the contract. The top said 'Employment Contract' on it so it was obvious what this was for. It meant she would be a Rider for BOARD's purposes rather than freelancing. That was fine. "I trust you to learn from your mistakes and not kill me with it," she commented as the signature was completed. "Call me when it's done. I'll be around."

She turned and started to leave the office, feeling rather good about herself. Though she did have to listen to Leo ramble for a while and ended up becoming an employee of his company, that seemed to be pretty insignificant compared to getting a new lease at being a Kamen Rider. Things were looking up!

"Aren't you going to report to your new superior first? Never said you're on standby do the moment you signed the contract, you're on the clock." Leo began, and of course revealing a little detail that Taiga herself completely ignored. It also revealed that he had planned this all from the start, so he had been toying with her the entire time about the belt in the first place.

"Those under this contract will be bound to serve Kenzaki Kazuna and her dependents, along with the Greed Ankh." he began reading it out loud, thus explaining what he meant by his initial statement. "These duties include acting as support for the Rider, though any other duties are entirely up to the parties the signatory is contracted to." in short, Taiga was now bound to work for Kazuna...and Kazuna herself along with people classified as her "dependents" could also order Taiga around however they pleased.

"It wasn't even the in the fine print too...so...!" he held out the papers again in case Taiga didn't believe him. "You can probably find in the training area, she's doing a test on the medals they acquired during the initial mess now and I'm sure they could use a dummy! er, sparring partner!"

"Aren't you going to report to your new superior first? Never said you're on standby do the moment you signed the contract, you're on the clock," Leo spoke up, stopping Taiga mid-step. The brown-haired girl cocked an eyebrow and turned about on one foot, shooting a questioning glare at the man she loathed so much but needed so dearly.

"'Superior'?"

Leo cleared his throat and read the main body of the contract she had just signed out loud. "Those under this contract will be bound to serve Kenzaki Kazuna and her dependents, along with the Greed Ankh. These duties include acting as support for the Rider, though any other duties are entirely up to the parties the signatory is contracted to.' It wasn't even in the fine print too...so...!" he finished, holding up the contract for her to see. She stepped back towards him and leaned close to the paper to read. Sure enough, it was right in the middle of the body of text, in plain print the same size as the rest of the document. "You can probably find her in the training area, she's doing a test on the medals they acquired during the initial mess now and I'm sure they could use a dummy! Er, sparring partner!"

Taiga's eye twitched. She wanted to destroy the contract and the only thing preventing her from doing so was the thought of never getting her hands on that shiny new Rider System being developed. However, what was done was done... and if she wanted to get that System she'd have to follow the rules. Even if it meant that Kazuna--that brat!--was her superior. So instead of destroying it she took it from Leo's hands and kept it on her person. She'd need to show it to her new 'boss'.

"The training area, huh? Fine. You just keep up your end of the deal, Leo, or so help me..." She left the threat open and turned once more to walk out of the office. On her way to the training center she retrieved her trusty bokken, figuring it'd be useful if she was going to spar someone once known as 'Blade'.

BOARD HQ Rider Training Facility

"Kazuna Kenzaki! Wherever you are, get over here!" Taiga shouted as she walked into the training room, holding out the contract that would make sure this was the very last order she gave Kazuna for the forseeable future...

Thankfully, Leo had called Kazuna as Taiga headed down towards the training area, so she was aware of what Taiga was holding when she arrived. The young Rider ran up to her as she called out, clad in her gym uniform...an odd fit for someone of her build. Still, it was clear that her demeanor wasn't going to let her actually act accordingly to the position she was given as she instead bowed politely to the (now shorter) girl.

"Ah, Taiga, it'll be a pleasure working with you this time around." they never really had worked side by side outside of random cafe shifts. Now that she had new powers, it seemed the youngest member of BOARD was back to her old self, even if there were a lot of suspicions about it.

Of course, unlike Kazuna, a certain someone wouldn't be as polite. The disembodied arm known as Ankh floated beside her, adamant he be with Kazuna as much as possible due to the fact she had become OOOs, and no one else could use it. "So we're stuck with someone even shorter than you are for help? If I had a face, I'd cry." Ankh commented, doing the best to look as if he was shaking his non-existent head in disapproval.

"That's not true! Taiga is....can you say that again...?"

"What? That she's a munchkin compared to you?"

And with that, Kazuna seemingly clenched a fist and raised it, leaving the Greed very, very confused at what just happened.

Taiga didn't miss the reason why Kazuna seemed so proud of herself all of a sudden. Without any ability to actually berate Kazuna for it, though, she could only try to change the subject to something that wasn't as irritating. "Yeah, yeah, okay, now apparently I'm helping with your training or something. What are you doing down here anyway? And what the hell is this...thing?" she asked, prodding Ankh with the end of her bokken. Considering her experience with Ryuuji seeing a talking disembodied hand wasn't that shocking but she still preferred to know what she was dealing with.

Tch... Don't think you're better than I am just 'cause you got tall! You had help, kid!

Good luck, Taiga! I'm rooting for you!

Taiga winced in annoyance as Ryuuji abused his telepathy priviledges. Don't do that! Shut up!

Ankh slapped the bokken away almost immediately, splaying his fingers in a rather angered fashion. Once more, one had to admire his ability to emote despite only being a hand and at the same time question how he was only thus when the other Greed materialized in a different fashion. "Show some respect, human! You'll be working under me now!" Ankh spat out, it was clear that he didn't even view Kazuna as an equal in this relationship.

"Ahaha...that's Ankh, I'm...still not used to him to be honest." While Kazuna was indifferent about his appearance, he had an overbearing attitude that was sometimes very difficult to actually get -him- to listen. "He's one of the Greed, and through some bizarre circumstances, he's on our side." overbearing or not, Kazuna had to trust him for now, it was the only way she could fight with everyone again. Granted, she was being a little too...nice with him, all things considered.

"As for what we're doing...I'm helping this runt learn to catch, with more medals available to her, she needs to get used to switching multiple at once but..." Ankh began, casting a 'glare' somehow at the young Rider. "She can't do so worth a damn."

"So this thing is Ankh, huh..." Just a floating, angry-looking red hand. Nothing more to him than that. "So if he's a Greed... where's the rest of him? And isn't it dangerous having him around? Don't those things make underlings out of medals?" It wasn't that she suspected him personally, it was a simple observation. She'd been in the battle with Cazari and the others, so she'd seen the Greed's powers first-hand. If this one wasn't like them... there had to be a reason.

Walking away from the two of them, Taiga stood in the middle of the training zone and switched to holding her bokken in her left hand. "Well, for now, show me what you're trying to do. If I'm gonna be stuck 'working' for you I may as well do something."

"That is none of your business." Ankh didn't show it, but he did respect Taiga's ability to gather that. Truth be told, if he could create his own army of Yummies to solve his problems, he would be doing so. "The others were just lucky that they had more of their medals in that blasted coffin." he muttered, before floating off as well. It was the only explanation that would be offered about his appearance, since he only had two of his medals, he couldn't fully materialize, and thus, neither did his powers.

That said, Ankh was positioned a good distance away from Kazuna, who was already wearing the OOOs Driver at this point since they could no proceed with their training. While she could fight properly, the fact of the matter was she was too used to Rider Space being usable with the Blade System. She needed to actually carry around the Driver somewhere and...well, due to certain reasons Ankh refused to let her hold onto any medals.

Either way, Ankh called forth three medals into his palm: the Stag Beetle, Tiger and Cheetah medals, before immediately throwing them at Kazuna. For an arm, he had a pretty accurate toss as well as they flew across the room without bumping into each other and diverging off course but...

As Ankh said earlier, she couldn't actually catch them. She was fine before since it was just one, but three at once was a little more difficult for her. As such she managed to catch the Stag beetle and the Cheetah but...Tiger ended up smacking her on the forehead before rolling towards Taiga's feet.

"Moron! How can you keep missing one when I throw them in groups like that!?" Ankh scolded before turning towards Taiga. "Pick that up and toss it over, we're going to get at least THIS right." he grumbled. Why oh why did he end up with such a clumsy user for the belt.

Taiga shrugged, seeing what the problem was. It was a typical thing, something Kazuna probably never had to learn. Taiga, on the other hand, was fairly confident she'd be able to do what Kazuna couldn't. Most learned how to do that from baseball or some other sport. Taiga, instead, learned it from a life of crime on the street. For her it wasn't a sport, it was getting stabbed or striking back. So picking up the medal Kazuna had failed to catch, Taiga flicked her wrist and sent it speeding back towards Ankh's palm with speed and accuracy.

"Try throwing them my way. Let me see why she's having trouble."

Technically, she could be said to be helping Kazuna find her faults and fix them.

The brief twitch at the edge of her mouth curling upwards into a smile she immediately repressed, though, that was all just showing off.
