Look at his little dance
|
Erin had done something questionable during the school's debt crisis. He had risked it all and stride into a high stakes gamble... And he had left an impression on those seeing him during the blackjack game. He had been dealt 21 over and over again. A god of luck a few of them had said looking at him. He had never felt that lucky, but when he was there gambling he had been tense and scared and... He'd won. So perhaps he had been a man with a god's luck. Part of him wanted to try to dive into that darkness again. A place where he found himself glowing, but that wasn't something he could just do. From the corner of his eye Erin spotted a flame. He wasn't willing to dive into the darkness but he would rush into a fire. Jameson had shown him that it was the right thing to do. His feet were moving before he even had a chance to think properly. He saw a crying woman. A word about children inside left her lips. That would have to be enough. There were other people who would run into this sort of burning building. Especially around here. "I'll take care of it." A cloud swelled above him. And surely the people who should appear eventually would. But Erin was already soaked and rushing into a flaming building. Soaking himself was something he did without a thought. He was running into a fire after all. Erin ran blindly through the building. He had kicked open doors and found a clear path to the stairs, but no children. So up he went. What else could he do. As he went up the stairs he heard a crash, and turning saw that the stairs were blocked now with flaiming debris... Fine, he couldn't even turn around now! Erin rushed through the hall, feeling fire on the other side of a door. He really hoped it wasn't the right way but he moved his hand to touch the knob. It burned his hand but he really thought this was the right path for some reason. Erin brought up his leg and kicked the door open, removing his burnt hand from the knob and staring at the raging flames. As they flickered he saw a crying girl on the other side of the flames... |

Erin rushed through the flames. He was by no means fireproof but at least he was wet and that was more than he could say for anyone else on the scene. he threw off his burning coat as he cleared the flame. Couldn't do anything about the rest of him but no reason to keep wearing that. "You'll be alright." Erin weighed his options. Yeah, he could jump off the second story of a house. "You have a brother somewhere?" As he spoke the girl whimpered and nodded, indicating the next room... So if he wanted to get to the sibling he'd have to go back through the fire? No, he had an idea. "Be careful now." Erin grabbed the little girl tightly and swung out of the window, throwing himself and the girl into the next room. It was a baby boy. He relaxed he didn't see any fire in this room. He reached for the searing hot door knob. Erm... He may have misthought his affair. He was fairly certain he shouldn't jump out of the second floor with something in both arms. Especially in the something was children. Settling down to think he heard a siren. Well... that was good. OF course a fire truck was on the way. He waved out the window. "Everybody's in here." As he said it his eyes drifted to the side noticing the room he'd left was now completely ablaze. So his crude vigilantism hadn't been for nothing, though he'd probably be reprimanded for it at least a bit. Everything worked out. |
