Sakarako scratched her cheeck, a little embarressed, "Ah gomen~ Ryuko-san has been working on that, he should be updated all the various systems soon, but I'm sure you'll know that once you start working here." With that being said, Sakarako turned to face to the side of herself and Dakota clapping her hands before throwing her arms out wide, causing several icons to appear, each one with a name of one of the games offered by the VR Pods. "Ah, here's a new one that you may like. It's starting to become a favorite of mine." said Sakarako cheerfully before giving the icon a gentle push and watching it suddenly expand and start to wrap around herself and Dakota until they could see nothing but white for a moment. Dakota would then find herself inside a simple white and blue room that acted as the selection screen, with the game name "Gear-Blade" appearing above the customization menu. Due to it being her first time in here, Dakota had no saved data to choose from, but was still allowed to select what kind of clothes she could wear, for a start. Once that was done, a vehicle selection screen came up and Nickle disembodied voice was heard, as if coming from a speaker system that wasn't there. "Gear-blade's our latest racing game. Don't worry about what kind of vehicle you choose, they're all pretty even when it comes to speed. Winning all depends on you and how lucky you are." With that, Nickle's voice vanished. Dakota now had time to select her racing craft, which included small boats, cars, motorbikes, hoverboards, almost any type of vehicle really. Naturally it allowed for colour alteration as well. When she was finished choosing, she would find Sakarako standing nearby in a larger white and blue room, already prepped to race. "Alright then! Let's have a good race, ok?" Red Hot Rider The Assistant manager mounted her motorcycle, before calling out, "Engage track radomizer." A large square holographic screen expanded outwards from thin air, flashing a variety of images across the screen, before coming to rest on one. A synthasized voice then spoke out the track name, "Atlantis" before the white room suddenly began to expand and change into a the selected race course. Atlantis

Dakota selected a basic hovercar... you know... because it was a hover car. As for her own clothing, she was wearing a pitch black button-up woman's trenchcoat and pants. Tron-esque bright blue streaks in them suggested she was trying to go for something cyberpunk. Dakota wasn't particularly into cyberpunk... but the mood had struck her. And what the heck? Spoiler: click to toggle "Heh, yeah. You too." she told her. She had enough of an idea of how a car worked to be able to drive it at least. |

Sakarako placed her helmet on as countdown for start of the race began. "3...2...1...GO!" Sakarako twisted the throttle of her bike, causing the engine to roar to life and the bike to take off. The two girls would be flying down a long twisting highway, concealed inside a clear tube that was illuminated by the sub-marine yellow and blue lights of the Atlantis course.
Sakarako looked over to her side to where Dakota was driving her hovercar next to Sakarako, "Quick breakdown! This game isn't only about speed, its also about luck! So let's see who gets luckier around this next turn!" Sakarako then turned her attention to the road in front of her, angling the bike into a drift and taking the corner with somewhat practiced ease. Even if she hadn't played Gear-Blade a lot, racing games were some of Sakarako's favorites. As the two girls took the corner, they would see a row of 6 holographic panels floating in front of them, each one flashing random sets of numbers of 1 through to 10. Sakarako hit the throttle and the breaks causing her bike to spin out and smash two of the holographic squares before righting the bike and bringing it to face forward. Even though she could only get one power-up, she could still take out more than one of the panels to make it a little bit harder for Dakota. "Alright! Let's see what I got!" A small screen was flashing on her bike's handlebars, the numbers appearing quickly and randomly before slowing down and coming to rest on a: [result]10&10,d10,0,10&d10[/result]. |

As soon as the countdown ended, Dakota's vehicle rocketed forward. It was then Sakorako came up and explained a bit more of the game to her. Apparently, it was part luck as well as part skill. The woman had spun out to take out two of the pannel "I'd call that a waste of speed." she thought. There were multiple panels, and 2/3 of them remained. Dakota managed to grab a panel. Granted, she had to loose some speed by turning, but the power up would be worth it. "So it's like one super charged Mario Kart game." she thought "Let's see... what do I have?" As the numbers spun forward, it seemed Dakota's would land on a... [result]8&8,1d10,0,8&1d10[/result] |

Sakarako grinned as she saw the number 10 icon. Immediately she hit the button near her throttle that activated the power up before a loud voice called out, "ACCELERATION!" Sakarako looked back at Dakota with a smile, "See what I mean about luck, Dakota-san?" before she twisted the throttle and shot forward at a blistering pace, even going so far as to ride up along the cealing of the glass tube they were racing in before coming back to drive right side up.
Sakarako now had a somewhat decent lead on Dakota and as such spotted the next set of bonus screens appear in front of her sooner. She revved her bike, popping a wheelie and going on her back tire before bringing it down and slamming one of the holographic screens to activate her next power up. "Yosh, let's see what I got this time round." The numbers started to flare across her bike screen at a blistering pace before slowing down once again and landing on a: [result]3&3,d10,0,3&d10[/result] |

"I see, to bump up you're speed... Maybe I've got to win a dice roll or something." she thinks "Luck's not my strong suit in any case." And it proved it, she'd rolled an 8. Her ride slowed down, sputtering smoke. "What did I ever do to you Lady Luck?" she thought. Alright, let's see what I got. Dakota attempts to hug the walls with her turns, and take the inner wall. She then hits a panel, and with her roll, she lands on a... [result]2&2,1d10,0,2&1d10[/result] |

Sakarako placed her hand over her bike's screen, collecting her prize and holding it tightly. Any kind of weapon or attack manifesed itself as as a small ball first, before it released itself on voice command. "Sorry about this Dakota-san, but I'm sure you can agree with me that everyone hates losing at games." Sakarako then threw the digital ball over her shoulder before shouting out, "Quicksand!" The ball was still in midair when it suddenly exploded outwards and towards Dakota, slowing her down and decreasing her accel points by 1. Sakarako continued to speed forward once her trap was launched, now reaching a new part of the track, where the underwater glass tube opened up to a larger inner city, the track now changing to a golden highway. Nickle had really done a good job with the virtual NPC's that were around, especially with how some of them screamed as she raced overhead on the track. She grinned as she spotted the next panel. Her luck had been holding out relatively well so far, hopefully it would be enough to win her the race. She smashed into her next panel, somewhat normally compared to the previous two times due to the track having somewhat of a sharp curve to it at this point, and as the randomizer on her screen began to slow down, the Red Hot Rider of the Abenobashi Arcade got a: [result]5&5,d10,0,5&d10[/result] |

Dakota was barely even moving when the quicksand slowed her to a near halt. Activating her powerup, she quickly burst out of the quicksand, moving even quicker than before.
"Looks like I'll have to get lucky to catch up..." she thought. Cornering, she hits another powerup. Once again, the numbers start spinning... and... [result]6&6,1d10,0,6&1d10[/result] |

A 5? Oh yes, now this was gonna be fun. Sakarako took the small orb that appeared, and shouted, "Cannon!" and watched as a large arm cannon appeared on her left arm. She aimed back over her should and took aim on Dakota. "You know half the fun of this game is actually just ragging on your opponents with weapons like this~ You should be getting one soon with any luck." said Sakarako with a wink before firing a single shot from the arm cannon and launching a giant ball of energy at Dakota before speeding on and grabbing her next power up. After smashing through one of the holographic screens within the Atlantian building they were currently in, Sakarako got herself a: [result]2&2,d10,0,2&d10[/result] |

Seeing the shot cannon come towards her, Dakota hit the button to activate the shield. As the sonic blast approached her, the shield flickered a translucent honeycomb pattern, breaking, but stopping the blast. At any rate, it was Dakota's turn now. Screeching through at grabbing another powerup, Dakota saw the numbers flicker. Hoping for a good powerup, Dakota rolls a... [result]3&3,1d10,0,3&1d10[/result] |

Sakarako smiled as she spotted the randomizer land on a 2. Revving her throttle, she shot forward again, increasing the distance between her and Dakota and leaving a trail of red dust behind her as she did so. She spoke to herself quietly with delight, "I'm just past the halfway mark."
Sakarako's grin widened as she saw the race course beginning to spiral downwards, the track forming to appear like a whirlpool that would eventually rocket Dakota and herself upwards. Before entering the spiral part of the track however, she spotted another set of power ups and excitidily reached out with her hand to smash the hologram square as she drove by, earning herself a: [result]4&4,d10,0,4&d10[/result] |

"Really? Let's slow you down." she thought. She hit a button, to generate quicksand under Sakarako's tires. Turning again, she noticed the whirlpool. "Now this is going to be fun!" she mentioned. Getting ready for another strike, she struck another hologram, and the numbers started spinning and spinning, earning her a... [result]2&2,1d10,0,2&1d10[/result] |

Sakarako frowned a bit as she saw the number land on a 4. "Ah moe! I can't use something like this when I'm in the lead!" The fact was sad but true. Landing on a four was ideal if she was the one chasing Dakota, but as it was now she couldn't touch the girl like this unless she wanted to lose the commanding lead of Accel Points she had on Dakota. She could always drop Dakota to 3 Accel Points, but in the end that would mean Sakarako would reduce her own points to 4. That was the least of her problems however, as a trap she had used on Dakota earlier came back to bite her. "Oh no! Not good!" Sakarako rushed right into the quicksand trap, causing her to spin out of a control and up near the side of the track before she was able to correct herself and steer properly again.
She looked back over her shoulder towards Dakota, "You kept me from accelerating entirely this turn!" she said with a semi-mournful voice. "But I'm still gonna win this one!" Sakarako then sped towards the next set of power ups, the race-course now taking the two girls through a corel forest. The holographic panels appeared up ahead and Sakarako felt a bit greedy, hitting her brakes and sending her bike to drift around the corner and slam into 3 of the 6 panels that had shown up. There was still plenty of panels for Dakota to choose from, but it seemed the red hot rider had gotten her feathers ruffled somewhat from the last turn. He randomizer spun madly before coming to stop on a: [result]6&6,d10,0,6&d10[/result] |

Well, they'd done will with the graphics, to say the least. At any rate though, she was still sorely behind her opponent, and needed a good jump in order to catch up. Though now, her opponent had a powerful shield on hand. Barely dodging a correl obstacle, she managed to gain a hologram. Seeing it spin, she hoped for a good boost.
