Deus felt a warm smile crack over his face as soon as her eyes opened. He moved away from her placing a hand on her cheek and wiping away the blood there. He turned his hand towards him eyeing the red drops for a moment before clenching his hand into a tight fist, causing his knuckles to creak and turn white. However his expression was as cheerful as possible. "Sad...? Hah.. I was jsut using my powers as a prince of a magical kingdom." He said placing a hand on his chest grandiosely. "A magical spell that transfers my body's amazing vitality into others to save them!" He said as he placed a hand on his chest. "Once again I amaze even myself." He said, melodramatically acting as if he were truly in reverence of himself. "No nosebleed?? Did all the blood coming out of your cheek leave you in short supply or where you too stunned to notice how handsome I am this time?!" He said sounding offended while making way for the medical staffs to check everything over. He glanced at the bit of red on his hand, opening his palm to see it now spread over his fingers. "Hahh. Try not to cause them any trouble.." He said turning and jogging off to the finish line.. ~~~ The door to the bathroom swung open hard. Crashing into the wall. He wandered over to the boy saboteur with a calm expression and an intense aura. He walked up to the boy backing him to the wall. He stopped within centimeters of him as he adjusted the boy's collar. "We're going to finish our little games here, yes we are. I'm going to beat you and that pathetic whore of yours and then when all your schemes have come up for nothing I'm going to repay you in kind for your actions until now. I am not going to lay a hand on you because I would run the risk of getting disqualified and then I wouldn't have the supreme pleasure of destroying you utterly in the final round. I want you to come at me. I want you to give everything you've got. So that when you loose you know you never had a chance. That all the cheating and lying and manipulation and the underhanded schemes were for NOTHING because you NEVER stood a chance. I want the fact that I was ALWAYS and COMPLETELY your superior to be burned into your mind.." "However." He grabbed the boy's collar lifting him off the ground and slamming him into the wall forcefully. "Don't harm a hair on her head. Don't touch her. Don't even look at her. If you touch her goddamn SHOES you'll know it. Because I will HURT you." He released the boy and smiled. "I will hurt you." He turned away adjusting his collar and throwing on his scarf. "The Solomon Family has a long memory and a high threshold for hatred. We're really only good at making others suffer. So do try to keep that in mind." He said before moving to rejoin the group for the next round and to make sure Emiko was okay to compete. Edited by Cypriss, Feb 1 2012, 09:27 AM.

Emiko smiled weakly and played along, “Well, you do tend to be there for me whenever I need you, perhaps you really are a Prince.” She then squeezed her eyes shut as the pain seemed to have finally caught up with her and shot through her body. Exhaling shakily she replied with a small laughter, as if to mislead Deus from the fact that she was suddenly aching all over, “N-nosebleed? Hahaha! I have no idea what you are talking about.” Although he was right despite it being a joke; under normal circumstances she would have pushed him away forcefully and turn her head away just in time to conceal the squirt of blood that would come from her nose. Thankfully that wasn't the case now. When Deus left her side Emiko opened her mouth to protest but the voices of the medics tending to her quickly drowned it out. To be honest, it was an awful experience. There were so many people surrounding her as she laid there on the snow, they were all touching and prodding her, asking questions and when she didn’t reply immediately the questions were yelled out straight in her face. Finally Emiko just told everyone that she was fine and just wanted to be alone despite actually feeling quite lot of pain every time she moved. After getting two painkillers to take and a hot cup of chocolate, that was still untouched beside her, she was sitting alone on a bench with her eyes closed fighting waves of nausea coming over her. She hadn't taken the painkillers from fear of gaging and throwing up as soon as the chocolate would touch her lips, so she just sat still listening to the host speak. “… but thankfully no one was seriously harmed and after some deliberation we have decided to continue the competition. We will announce the start of the next competition in ten minutes.” Since Emi had never crossed the finishing line among several others they had decided to change the rules, making it enough to only have one teammate reach it. Sadly that meant one team had been disqualified, but on the other hand she and Deus were almost neck-to-neck with the saboteurs now and if they won the last competition with enough points they would be the winners. The host then approached Emiko, asking how she was and if she would be able to continue the game. “I am sorry, but I don’t think I will be able to continue. It hurts just to move,” she inhaled sharply and winced, just breathing was painful enough and tears welled up in her eyes. The man wanted to pat the poor girls shoulder but in fear of hurting her further he didn’t and instead said, “That is fine, you just rest and take it easy. This last ring of the competition was from the beginning a one-player game, so let’s hope that your teammate is good at aiming.” With a small nod the host then returned to his own team of people preparing for the last and final round. |

Deus pulled both arms over his head as he stretched out his back. He turned left and right using one arm to pull the opposite shoulder so as to limber up his back. Then he went into practice mode, moving his arm carefully through the rhythms. He threw several practice throws getting a feel for the weight and direction of the snowballs. The whole time he was completely serious in his focus. He took one of the balls and began to move, shifting his weight and carrying through with the motion, momentum and direction were all fluid. The force seemed to be like a circuit and his every action dictated a scientific accuracy to the release of the energy so that the power from the tips of his toes flowed through the tips of his fingers and into the sphere sending it perfectly on target into the tube. Each throw was the same, a single flowing motion as he gripped, aimed, and released, sending it on target without a single issue. When the time ended he had filled his tube almost completely. He turned to the man who'd cheated and flashed him a smile, crushing the snowball in his fist. That was beyond simple. A ritual he'd practiced every day for his whole life from the time he was a child. By now it was second nature to him. With this he was confident he had done well enough to secure victory for them. |

The pain was starting to feel unbearable and Emiko was taking short gasps of air instead of breathing normally, and her complexion was pale and her cheeks were completely drained of color. But she was keeping it all in, not uttering a single whimper of pain because she didn’t want to worry and distract Deus from the final game. There was no doubt in her mind that he would ace it but if he knew that she was hurting then he’d maybe call it off and she couldn't accept that. They had come so far and they had so much fun during the day, she didn’t want it all to go to waste especially when there was a change for them to win. So she sat silently, watching him and the rest of the competitors as each got their turn to aim and throw snowballs at a see-through pipe. The goal was to fill it up with as much snow as possible within a time limit and Deus had done exceptionally well. It was now time for the saboteur to aim at the plastic pipe and he could feel Deus’ stare burning through his back. His girlfriend on the other hand was glaring at Deus with her arms folded over her chest. She had heard what the blonde had done to her boyfriend in the restrooms and she wasn’t happy with it at all. Sure, Deus had been good in this ring but she was convinced that her boyfriend would do well enough for them to win, especially since the two of them had won the two previous contests. And she was right. When all the scores were finally counted there was only one single point that separated Deus and Emiko from the win. Feeling defeated and sad Emiko looked at Deus and then at the saboteurs who were high-fiving before hugging and even kissing in public. The Radio show host announced them as winners and handed them the hyped prize with congratulations and best wishes. The happy boyfriend then lifted and carried his girlfriend victoriously as she waved around the envelope that held the prize; an incredible weekend trip Tokyo! All expenses paid including travel, sightseeing, restaurants and concert passes! But not only that, sought after tickets to the famous Koshien national baseball tournament were included! Emiko’s jaw dropped down as she heard what the saboteurs had won and watched how the redhead was bouncing up and down in her boyfriend’s arms, making her accidentally drop things out of her pockets… Suddenly it was like everything went silent and the two winners stopped celebrating as they stared with horror how the host bent down and picked up a screw driver and a couple of screws. Those were obviously the missing ones from the steerable snow sleds which had lead to several accidents, one in particular being the one Emiko had gotten hurt in. “Ladies and gentlemen, there seem to have been a new development in the game and I’m now announcing the disqualification of Team 5, on the grounds of cheating and sabotaging.” The redhead let out an angry cry as a staff worker snatched the envelope from her hands. “The winners are Team 2! Mr…” the host paused to look down at his papers, “Solomon! Mr. Solomon and Ms. Nakahara! Congratulations! The two of you have just won an amazing weekend trip to Tokyooo~!” Edited by Lelil, Feb 3 2012, 12:02 AM.

"Cheh..." Deus spat hands tucked deep into his pockets as he glowered at the stage. Rather than jumping for joy he was completely pissed off. So even with all that he'd still lost to the cheating bastard? It had been his intent to defeat the foe utterly without relying on exposing him but a victory like this just felt half-assed. He turned his back to the stage and wandered off leaving collecting the prize to Emiko as he slunk away glowering. In the end he'd really wanted the victory after all in order to show what he was made of. He couldn't be satisfied with a result like this... Winning was fine and he was happy about that but he barely even recalled what the prize was when he was so focused on the fact that he'd only won via luck even with all he'd said about his complete victory earlier.. Humiliating...! "Haah... oh well.." He said massaging his neck reluctantly as he wandered over to where Emiko was. In her injured state she really was a sight to see. "Are you sure you're going to be alright..?" He said eyeing her. He glanced around before moving forward and picking her up out of the chair. Rather carefully he helped her up onto his back so he could carry her back to the bus depot. He'd worry about collecting the winnings and whatever else later. For now it was time to get her home. "You're seriously more trouble than you're worth." He said as he turned towards the bus stop with her on his back, |

The sudden turn of events confused Emiko in her current state and she wasn’t exactly sure what had happened. The saboteurs were the winners, right? But now she and Deus were? Emi glanced at him and could see his discontent about the result. Guessing that he had wanted to win properly and not by pure luck made a small smile tug at the corners of her mouth, and for a few seconds forget her throbbing body and the increasing pain coming from her abdomen. Looking up at Deus as he approached her Emiko did her best to smoothen out her facial expression and hide any sign of pain, but he sill asked her if she was alright. “Yeah… I’m fine,” she replied with a shaky voice despite trying to keep it even, “Lets get back to the dorms.” She was just about to slowly get out of the chair when Deus picked her up and then helped her up on his back. It didn’t matter how gentle and careful he was, each movement still hurt and she winced and muffled whimpers against the fabric of his jacket, now and then tensing her arms around his neck. But she was very grateful that he was taking care of her and doing his best to help her. Emiko spent the buss ride with her head against Deus’ shoulder with her eyes tightly shut, every bump on the road hurt her and she bit her lip to keep herself from crying. At the same time she was fighting waves of nausea that came now and then and she could feel a sort of blackness creep up on her, like she was going to faint. But she didn’t want to. She wanted to be with Deus despite that blacking out meant being relived of the pain. The accident had scared Emiko and made her realize how easy it was for them to be separated, it could happen now or in the future and just the thought of that was unbearable. She was afraid of being without him. When they finally reached their station Emiko slowly moved out of the buss and walked a few steps, feeling tears starting to well up in her eyes. It hurt so badly and she suddenly felt lightheaded as everything spun around, “Deus…” she mumbled quietly before repeating his name louder, “Deus.” Her eyes started to blacken. She couldn’t take it any longer. It hurt too much and Emi felt how she was slipping away. “Don’t… don’t let me fall,” she staggered forward before everything went black and she fainted, falling into nothingness. |
