"Heh.. Oliver.. Do you remember your first case? The first you ran on your own?" Jameson said pulling more case files out of the cabinet and handing them over to Oliver. ".. Not really? Wasn't it the one with the bridges?" He said going through the files sorting them out into the correct places. WDA BORING CASE FILES: 213 The Case of Who Gives A Shit. Jameson sure did hate the boring cases.. "No no no!" Jameson said eagerly. "That was with me!" "The one with the mayor?" Oliver said setting the files down. "That came after! The one With Seth! When we recruited him! The one with the CIRCUS!" "Oh god.. that DISASTER..." Oliver said, thinking back.. It had been.. August, right? No... September.. Yeah. September of 2010. ~~~~~~~~~ September, 2010 WDA Office: (The Original One) "Man! All these cases! After that bridge case it seems we've gained a lot of attention! Maybe I should hire some more people!" Jameson said cheerfully as he rushed to the hat rack getting his coat. "We already have four employees counting you and me. Five if you count Fuu. Which I don't." Oliver said with a sigh. "How many people does a detective agency need?" "Ten?" "PFT. AS IF THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN!" Oliver Said throwing a book at Jameson. "You're an idiot. Get out of here." He said with a sigh as he rolled his eyes. This place was seriously a pain. He wasn't even sure why he was here. He didn't want to be a detective, he didn't like all the work, and he hated the people that worked here. It was... an enormous pain in the ass. Jameson dashed out off for another case. One of the boring ones he hated, but he seemed cheerful enough today due to the attention the agency was getting. Still... Oliver was really conflicted.. Why WAS he here..? That's when the call came in. A case about a missing child. But Jameson was out. The money was good, and the case was urgent... Oliver didn't have much choice.. He glanced to the coat rack and got one down. He'd settle this once and for all.. If he could solve this case he'd stick around. If not he'd quit. He threw on the trench coat and dashed out, directly into some dopey looking idiot he didn't know. Edited by Cypriss, Jan 11 2012, 11:40 AM.

"Huah!" Not just dopey, but seedy looking too. Looking like a kid who just got thrown out of his own house the boy stumbled backwards, falling on the ground with a thud, spilling hot chocolate all over himself. "AWAWAWAWA-HOTHOTHOTHOT!!!" The boy yelled in panic and pain, attempting in vain to rub the scalding drink from his face. "Uuu... I'm... I'm sorry, I wasn't looking where..." The boy looked like he was on a verge of tears, nervously wiping his eyes with his sleeve, attempting hard not to look into the eyes of the one he bumped into. This was Seth Ryouga, September 2010. First time meeting with Oliver Z. Winston in front of the Willicott Detective Agency. |

"Cheh... Be more ca-." Oliver said with a sigh, clicking his tongue in annoyance. He glanced to the ... boy? girl..? No, it was definitely a girl, right? He knew a girl when he saw one! Either way he stared at the girl (boy) with a frown before extending a hand to help her (him) up from the ground. He couldn't be so cold to such a cute girl. And besides, In the end Oliver was a LITTLE to blame for not paying attention to where he was going, but he wasn't going to admit something like that. He flashed a charming smile towards her (him) "Are you alright..?" After this Oliver went inside and got one of his shirts and a towel, lending it to the kid. "You can borrow this.." He said planting his hands on his sides as he tapped his foot, staring at her (him). Yup, jsut staring. Not even moving. He was gonna stare at her (him) as (s)he changed. That's just the sort of unabashed guy Oliver is. Girl, guy, didn't matter to him. Well it did matter. Besides this was a good chance to size her (him) up. He knew (s)he was flat but that sweater could be hiding something good. A feminine figure? Either way he was staring intently. |

"...W-what are you staring at...?" Seth shifted uncomfortably on the spot, holding the towel and the shirt close to him as he shyly glanced at the boy who were kind enough to lend him a towel and a spare shirt. "Is there... still something on my face...?" The boy wondered innocently, wiping the towel on his cheek, suspecting there might still be a spot of chocolate on his face. "Uhm..." She looked around nervously, still holding the towel and the shirt in his hand. Wait, he's supposed to changed into this, right? I mean, why else would he lend it? Aah, he just met someone so generous and kindhearted... so far in his life he had been so unlucky, perhaps the heavens decided to smile on him for a change, he thought, as he hid his slightly burning face behind the towel, sidestepping the boy as he made his way into the office to change. "Ex-excuse me..." Shouldn't take long for him to change. He'll be out in a moment. HE'S A DUDE DAMMIT! A DUDE! Though you really can't tell if you look at him from the back, for anyone looking through the window. Who would wanna peep on a guy changing anyway? Edited by Fin, Jan 11 2012, 12:25 PM.

"EH..? Something on your face? No.." He said idly as he glanced away from her. Shy? Well that could be cute in it's own way. He leaned back against the window as she left into the other room to change. Once she was in there for a few moments he leaned slightly to the side glancing in. .. Nice figure but... Didn't seem like she was hiding much underneath the layers. In the end she must really be flat. He sighed a bit and turned away from her, planting his hands behind his head as he looked towards the door. Still... could be fun, no? ~~~~~ Once she was changed up he greeted her heading for the door before he stopped her. "Actually... I'm headed to the circus. I got free access due to my job here. If you wanted to tag along I could use some help." He said flashing her a small smile. Circus was a great way to draw people in, it had both the power of youthful nostalgia, and rarity. It wasn't often one actually WENT to a circus.. Well he could juggle a case and charming the pants off a cutie simultaneously, right? Sure. "I'm Zander. By the way. Zander Winston." |

It wouldn't be long until Seth finished changing, picking her sweater as she got out of the office wearing the borrowed shirt, leaving the towel behind. "Ah.. I, uh... sorry to bother you like this..." She said, bowing apologetically at her clothing savior, a bit worried that she's just being a troublesome appearance for the boy. "T-thanks... there should be... something I can repay you with..." She said, nervously glancing around until he conveniently offered a way for her to pay him back. ... Wait, why is Seth referred to as a girl...? Eh. "Ah, yes! Let me come! I'll help you out! It's the least I could do!" He said with a glint of eagerness in his eyes, rushing in close to Zander as he clasped his hands together in excitement. "Nice to meet you Zander! My name's Seth Ryouga. It's... a little bit weird, I know..." He said, scratching his cheek as he turned around meekly. Part of him sincerely wanted to repay Zander for helping him, but part of him just wanted to have a go at the circus. |

Eh? She was saying something? He wasn't really paying attention on the grounds that he was reviewing the case file on his phone that the police had sent him. Oh well, he'd just roll with it. for now. It wasn't really all that often he needed to use names anyhow so he'd just pretend he heard it. In the future he should probably take more care with names, though. Either way, no time to waste. ~~~~~~ The international traveling Arcades Circus. Filled with amazing sights, terrifying feats, and presently? A kidnapped child. Once he'd been reported missing the entire place was locked down. Luckily it was only the performers here and the child had been noticed missing quickly due to an entirely unplanned visit from his mother. As such the whole place was in a rather.. dour mood for a circus. Oliver sighed heavily. "Two acrobats reported their kid missing this morning. Vanished from his room. Grounds have been searched but nothing showed up. All the exits are sealed, so he has to be here.. Someone in this circus kidnapped their kid. The why, how, and who are the reason they called me." "sounds cool, right?" |

"Hwah~ That is so cooool~! Just like a real detective!" The boy's eyes were sparkling in excitement as he stared at the detective in front of him with admiration. Occasionally glancing around the circus in expectation of some daredevil stunts and performance. Though, when he came here, things doesn't seem to be what he expected it to be... "But... someone got kidnapped, isn't it bad...?" The look of awe on his face dropped as he took on an expression of concern, thinking about the fate of the kidnapped boy, taken away from his parents without anyone noticing, the worried and depressed state of the parents themselves, how terrified the boy must be feeling right now... "I'll help find him! I'll whatever it takes, just tell me what to do!" |

"Heh. You're pretty eager, kid." Oliver said planting a hand on her head and patting it gently. He then dropped his hand to his side. "Just look around, be observant. Look with your eyes and which your brain. See the things people don't see, that they won't see.. Just... look. That's the key to doing this job." He said with a confident grin as he took out a camera and turned from the girl to look around himself. Truth be told he didn't expect her to fin anything but involving her was better than making her stand around doing nothing. Not to mention it showed a certain amount of respect for her. He figured he'd work for a few minutes and leave and finally admit to himself that he didn't have the talent for this sort of thing. The only reason he even bothered was that there was a kid involved.. He sighed heavily.. Really... could he even help..? ~~~ The circus seemed normal. It was one of those that advertised itself on the grounds that no one in it had powers. They were all professionally trained individuals whom did their stunts the hard way, no special abilities to save them. There were a lot of people on the scene, worried onlookers and carnies. However several seemed less worried and more just.. nervous. Eyeing the outsiders warily. Within the boy's tent the lock was undone from the inside. The parents swore the boy would never allow a stranger in but that was the working theory. Strange scratch marks littered the keyhole from the inside, and similar scratches but on a larger scale were scraped across the floor. |

"Don't you think it's a bit weird?" Seth said to no one in particular as he examined the scratch-ridden, otherwise completely unscathed lock, his eyes trailing down to similar marks on the ground. What is weird? "The lock? If the kidnapper somehow broke into the tent then... something has to be broken anywhere, but nothing's actually broken. And to think the boy would never allow any strangers in..." Or at least, according to his parents, repeated Seth as he placed his hand on his chin. There's always a chance that it's not a stranger at all. Or maybe for some ridiculous reason the kidnapped was already in the tent with the boy. "What?" The boy gave a laugh, getting up to his feet as he approached Zander. "Um... should we try questioning some of these people here? No one has left this circus since the kidnapping, right? The culprit might still be here, one of them probably," |

"Questioning people is for the police. It's hardly of any interest to us to go around questioning hundreds of employees. Let's save the busy work for when we have something to go on.." He said glancing to her before looking around the room. "Someone with the boy inside the room.. is that possible?" He said tucking his hands into his coat. "No. We asked the parents. He was alone when they left him here and locked the door. The lock opens from inside.." "Hurm... This is quite the mystery.." He said as he stood eying the room. "Scratches.. a locked door, and claw marks on the floor..." He turned to the officer. "I tihnk I've got all I need. Bring me the head of this circus." "...What.. But.. How..?" "Just do it." Oliver said shortly. "Listen. You're not Jameson. You're some punk kid. The police don't need help from some arrogant kid who isn't even a real detective! If we'd known he was only going to send you then we wouldn't have called." Oliver turned to the man, lips turning into a thin smile. "Okay.. I'll get the head of the police myself!" ~~~~ "HUARGH!" The officer flew out of the tent crashing into a nearby one forcefully. Oliver grabbed a second oliver, flipping him over his shoulder and crashing him into the dirt, twisting and locking his arm in place before digging his foot into the officer's head forcing his face down into the dirt. "You're right. I'm not Jameson. He's much more pleasant. And he doesn't mind being compared to others. I. AM. NOT. JAMESON. ANY MORE OBSERVATIONS YOU WISH TO MAKE, OFFICER?." The chief burst into the room. "What the HELL is going on in here?!" He roared out, infuriated. Oliver released the man raising his arms. "I asked for him to get you. He declined. I thought of a more intertaining way to get your attention." "Listen you just assaulted three polic-" "They have powers." "What?" "The circus folk." Oliver said holding his arms out for the man to cuff him. "They have powers. They're lying. We can't figure out how the crime was commited because the crime is impossible. UNLESS the criminals have powers. So they must. Which means the circus' leader is hiding stuff from us. Now you can arrest the only person in this tent who solved anything today or you can tell your men to treat me with the respect I deserve and let me help. As for the assault? I don't mind if you throw in the slammer for the night when this is all over. But I've found when standing in the shade created by the shadow of Jameson B. Willicott one must create and EXTREMELY bright light to escape." "....... When this is over.." "I know." "... alright. i'll get the head." Edited by Cypriss, Jan 14 2012, 11:32 PM.

He was a bit shaken from the sudden show of force by Zander, taking a couple of steps back as the police officers were given a beating by the boy, just for refusing his request. Ooh... one thing to keep note, beware of the nice ones. Who would have thought someone like Zander would have that short of a temper? Driven by nothing more than the urgency to save a kidnapped child? Possible. "Z-Zander... was all that really necessary...?" Seth asked timidly, getting close to him after feeling confident that he wouldn't lash out again. He really didn't help much, huh. In the end Zander did everything by himself, and as eager as Seth was he felt a bit beneath the league of all these crime-solving stuff. Oooh... is it wrong to just want to help...? |

Zander laughed a bit as he pet the girl's head with a small smile. "You won't get anywhere being timid. You have to take matters into your own hands.." He let his hand drop to his side as he looked away. "I could stand here all day trying to prove my worth to them or I could force them to acknowledge me.. But right now all that matters is that scared little boy who needs our help.." ~~~ "You've figured us out.. if this gets out we're ruined!" The ringmaster said dabbing his head with a cloth. "But.. then.. for now the boy is all that matters.." He said, sadly looking down. "I lost sight of that for my own needs.." "We have three people here with powers.... One is the suspect's mother who can become liquid at whatever part of her body she wishes, allowing her to be a more limber acrobat and to use hydraulics to do incredible feats..." "The second is a trapeze artist who has aeromancy. He's never been close to the boy to my knowledge but he was free at the time of the crime.." "Finally is the hairy woman, she is actually a werewolf. I'm not sure how she would be tied either. Any of the three could have made the claw marks, slicing with water pressure or air pressure, or with the werewolf's claws... But it must be one of them." "A power that allowed them into the tent..." He looked up to a hatch up top. "It could also be any of the three. That hatch would be their access... I want to interview all three." "Even the mother?" "Yes.." "We can set it up but it will take time." "That's fine. We'll look in the suspect's rooms for clues." He glanced to Seth. "You check in the neighboring tent in the mom's room. I'll go check in the werewolf lady's room. Is that alright?" |

"Eeh? Me?" She--HE DAMMIT! HE! The boy exclaimed in surprise at the task he was entrusted with, staring at Zander in disbelief at his sudden reliance of him. Wait, for once he could be useful and help out! It's just looking around, so it can't be that hard, right? "Leave it to me!" He said enthusiastically, saluting him for the heck of it as he immediately made his way to the mother's tent. Hrm... let's do some thinking while we're at it. The boy's room was locked from the inside. The boy was kidnapped, yet and there was no sign of a break-in or a break-out or whatever., making this an impossible crime. Unless the criminal have powers, this shouldn't have been possible to achieve. And lo and behold, there are three people in the circus with powers. One was the mother who can turn herself into liquid, one was an aeromancer, and the last one was a werewolf. Hrm... lesshee... the aeromancer was pegged guilty just because he was nowhere to be seen during the time the crime was committed, so he could have been the one who kidnapped the boy. But that's not enough of an evidence to put a blame on someone... Besides he's not close enough with the boy so... And the werewolf? Doesn't seem possible unless he is close with the boy... Unless he was already inside the room with the boy... and why would he... Bleh. There's too much uncertainty here... let's wait until the questioning was done before they start jumping to conclusion, Seth thought as he made his way into the mother's tent. |

Within the child's father and mother's room was a great deal of things, however most of it was extremely irrelevant. Clothes, shoes, etc. Everything was in such a state as to easily be packed away again in a hurry. As was the life of a circus performer. However a few things of interest could be found. One was a wedding band, left in a top drawer and sealed away, another was a home ownership guide. The significance of these things would be for the finder to determine. ~~~~ "I investigated the aeromancer's room.. It's a man but there were women's underpants in there. Our third suspect is a woman, the werewolf. If the aeromancer is tied to the crime it could be either the mom's or the werewolve's. Infidelity could be a motive for all of this. There's just not much to go on. What did you find?" Olvier said, returning some time later. Edited by Cypriss, Jan 15 2012, 11:44 PM.
