"Pragmatism?"
There was yet another bright flash of light, erupting from the girl as it completely engulfed the surroundings, making the red light from the sunset look dim in comparison. It might be able to break concrete, but Hakurouken and Roukanken is on a whole different level, having survived seven hundred years of abuse, having seen more than their fair share of flesh, blood and bones throughout the centuries, having protected their master countless of times from death... Not to mention. Seven hundred years worth of hell survival experience had taught her to never turn your attention away from anyone, even if they're not much of a threat to her. Besides, that little devilish thought in his head? She could smell it from miles away.
KANG!!! There goes Roukanken, being held at an angle, the end of the sword digging into the ground for maximum structural bracing, positioned perfectly to intercept the attack. Her hand shook and she buckled slightly at the sheer force of the attack, Roukanken shattering brilliantly like broken glass as the pixel shell thingy was deflected away, striking a tree instead. But before the remaining shards of Roukanken could hit the ground she had already reacted.
Her hand moved next to her waist as she grasped the hilt of Hakurouken, eyes locking onto her target like an eagle would target its prey. In one swift movement, less than a half of a quarter of a millisecond, the blade was fully unsheathed, and is at the moment flying straight towards the small spot between his eyes, more like a bullet than a thrown sword. Why throw? Why not just run there and cleave him in half? Well see, a thrown sword have way more speed than if she were to run at him. It's easier to achieve a much higher speed if she just threw something that weighs less than her own body. As in running. You get the idea. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor

3/5 uses left, 260 pixels ---- The egregious amount of power that he bent into shape in order to cause lating damage to her had amounted to little more than nothing. At the very least, she had utilized more of her powers, and if pushed, would probably end up wasting them all. He saw as the first blade shaattered in an unnatural way, the beauty of it eclipsing even that of the eternal sunset, but what he paid attention to was the other hand. As Kaizo had seen once before, the blade moved as naturally and quickly as flickering light. and as he realized what she was about to do, he estimated a second to allow himself for escape, from the moment she drew the blade, to the moment when it'd reach its objective. He jumped to the left in order to avoid moving his right shoulder, however it ws inevitable to move that limb when attempting to avoid, thus making him flinch for a moment, the sword grazing his right arm and provoking a nasty, painful, yet not life threatening cut. The following action was logical and planned, from his positon he shot 2 blasts of 20 pixels, in quick succesion, as any more would take too much time. They were placed horizontally and aimed at her shoulders, so as to cover the largest possible area. Nevertheless, since he couldn't raise his right hand to do it, one was slightly behind theother. It's impossible to touch her when she's pegged you as someone that needs to be taken out. Without even pausing to catch a breath she brought the same hand that threw Hakurouken to her waist and grasped the SHEATH of Hakurouken, swiftly slipping it out of her belt and- CRACK!!! Twice at that. CRACK!!! It's a good thing that his shot had a small lag between the two, she was able to get a good hit on both of them like a batter hitting a speeding baseball. But instead of aiming to get a homerun she was aiming to hit them straight at the shooter himself! Urgh... she came here for a fight, not a game...
The half-phantom didn't waste even a single quarter of a second after counterattacking, quickly releasing her grip on the sheath to the floor and dropping her hand to her waist as- FLASH!!! -yet another flash of light erupted from her waist, both Hakurouken and Roukanken tucked neatly between her belt in prime condition. Immediately she grasped the hilt of Roukanken, her eyes glinting slightly as she took her target before- SLASH SLASH!!!
As though there was something wrong with the script. She was... sheathing back Roukanken? When had she even pulled it out? The girl simply gave a sigh as she snapped the oversized sword back into its sheath, as, at the same time, cracks could be heard behind Kaizo. Two trees directly adjacent to him were toppling down on him from behind. Not sure if anyone could see it, but there's a very clean cleave mark that went completely through the base of the trees, angled slightly to allow toppling. Now, if he could act quickly enough, he should be able to avoid the two trees from behind and his own two attacks from the front. It's like a three-pronged attack or something. If the boy could act quickly enough. Without warning Hakurouken and Roukanken began to crack, and finally shattering in a brilliant shower of shards that reflected the red sunset before dissipating into nothingness. Yet the girl seemed less than unperturbed even with her weapons breaking down without her initiating it. It was as though she expected it to happen. And was probably ready for whatever would happen after that. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor

1/10 uses left 180 pixels left (as always 20 recovered) ----- The match was seconds away from ending, with the victor still undecided. From one side, she had been able to repel his attacks and even send them back, also making a counterattack which he suspected was related to the trees behind him, repeating the strategy from once before. On the other, though his pixels didn't shatter upon contact at that time, he could still make them disappear just by thought, much like he did with his non attacking variants; plus she had no uses left. As things would have it, he did exactly that, the pixels vanished while still a good distance away from him, furthermore, he still had more than enough time to avoid the trees. He shot 100 compressed pixels towards the part between the two trees, hitting both of them on their edges. And though that attack wouldn't destroy them, it wasn't Kaizo's objective to do so. Instead, he wanted to utilize simple physics by making them spin iin the opposite directions by being pushed, causing them to fall over to the other side, and away from the gamer. He knew that he could have done the same before, however that would have caused a loss of pixels that could see other purposes; necertheless at that moment with his opponent defenseless, he didn't mind using them. "Well at least I have a single use now" He looked at her awaiting a response. Despite his previous tendencies, he did not wish to fight against an opponent that didn't stand on even grounds with him, or slightly higher. plus he acknowleged that even if he had been using bit hero mode, he'd have had a hard time fighting against Kotoka due to her ability. "To be truthful I was and still am scared, even though I am using less than a hundred of my power compared to when I use bit hero, I still think you'd defeat me were it not for the limitations" Edited by sebsman, Jan 14 2012, 09:11 PM.

Oh? What did he say? "Why don't you reword that?" She said bluntly with a huff, turning her back at him as she folded her arms and started making her way back to the clearing where they first started. "Even without the limitations, I can still beat you," A bit too arrogant there, don't you think? Hmph... this is ridiculous. She wasted her whole time going against someone who had no confidence in winning in the first place... And to think they all keep talking about pride and courage... "That also means I'm telling you to surrender, if you didn't quite catch that," She said, not even bothering to stop. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor

A sigh escaped from his lips as words proved inefficient in conveying his thoughts properly, it wasn't related to him being unable to defeat her at that moment, it was more of a situation where he wouldn't gain anything from continuing. He decided to tell her outright what he wanted, a draw. Hoping that she wouldn't be unreasonable "What I was saying was that you could defeat me, but the limitations prevent you from doing so. Unlike you I still have uses for my powers, but I doubt that either of us would want a fight like that, so I am proposing a draw" There was nothing more that needed to be said, if she refused, he'd have to attack. But he was hoping that there could be just a fewnegotiations to avoid doing so. |

She stopped in her track. How is that any different from what she understood? Just because she can't use her powers anymore and he still have one more usage of his power, he thinks she can't defeat him? "Oi oi... I don't care if you're proposing a draw or not..." She said as she glanced back ever so slightly, meeting his eyes with her own hawk-like one. "You're saying I can't kick you to the curb in my current state," Of course, she could be deathly misunderstanding this. It's just that... she didn't like it when some little brat here thinks he can match up to the half-phantom with seven hundred years of hell survival experience. This isn't a game, you can't grind your level up to impossibly high, die and then reload your save game. It's nothing like that, not fun... ... "Fine... whatever. Call this a draw," She said with a hint of finality, giving a shrug as she continued making her way back to the clearing. Yersh... 700 years taught her... don't get over your head. Apparently she forgot about that for a split second. |
