"Remember, you're not allowed to use any weapons throughout the whole match!" "Eeeh??? Why not?! What's the whole point of joining the tournament then?!" "No weapons! Be glad I let you in in the first place!" ~~Flashback done~~ "THEN HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO WIN WITHOUT ROUKANKEN AND HAKUROUKEN?!" The girl yelled in frustration over the cheer of the crowds, sitting cross-legged on the floor with her eyes visibly twitching in irritation. Seth is one helluva jerk, taking out one thing and costing her all the fun in doing this in the first place. Now, strictly speaking there's really no reason for her to be doing this, but supposedly there's that pent-down feeling of a sorta-blood knight inside her that needs satisfying... It was for that suspicion that Seth was quit hesitant on letting her join but he decided to give her a bit of a leeway and allow her in with a couple of conditions. Something she's not exactly happy about, obviously. She's definitely fuming there, standing with her arms crossed and tapping her foot impatiently for her opponent to arrive. "Come on Youma~ You can do it!" Oh just shut up will you... She especially hated how enthusiastic his tone was. |

Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
An obsessive gamer can't shy away from competition, that much was a given. Thus when a rare opportunity of testing his proficiency across a field in which his experience wasn't top notch showed itself, Kaizo couldn't resist taking the chance. He had persuaded himself into believing that was right at the very least; the tournament was a simple event that he fell into through choice, perhaps testing his fighting capabilities would give him something further than simply the joy of winning, or the sorrow of losing. But for that moment, he'd simply continue to consciously think that he'd just be fighting for fun. The moment seemed to foreshadow a battle that could only be described as epic, the orange glow from the sky glared through the trees, observing the every movement of the combatants. It was then that the announcers finally allowed the fight to begin. Kaizo was slightly relieved upon realizing that his opponent was a first timer as well; yet at the same time, a sensation of dissapointment attacked a corner of his mind, he didn't understand it. He looked at his opponent, he remember seeing her once before during the incident with HEAT, she was the girl that wielded a blade which seemed too large for her. Kaizo decided upon taking a brief second to think of a strategy before showing himself to her. But after the plan had been conceived, there was no more time for distractions. He walked towards her through the front, as attacking through any other direction would take away from the challenge that the tournament should suppose. And once he was in her direct field of view, little more than 7 feet away from her a salutation was in order. "I see that the boss bar at your right has not increased since the fight with the dopant." It was a lie that there was a boss bar, obviously. However he just wanted to measure her reaction before wasting the uses left for his powers. |

Uh. Alright, she knows this dude, she saw him from somewhere... though if there's anything to be expected from her, it's not remembering whatever small details that does not interest her in the slightest. Perhaps that should be blamed for her lack of sense of direction. Speaking of lack of sense of direction... "What boss bar?" The girl said quizzically, turning to her left instead of her right with eyebrow raised, curious of this 'boss bar' he's talking about. "I don't see anything..." Yea... the girl doesn't even know what a boss bar is. |

A fox-like smile showed itself upon the megagamer's face. It is well said that "the pen is mightier than the sword", and as it turned out, confusing his opponent with his words was among the possibilities for battle that the gamer considered. but he knew that his plot couldn't be kept waiting to hatch for much longer, as the tournament was in fact made to gather funds; the battle should be kept as medieval as possible without killing each other, something that'd put its violence on a level where it could laugh at boxing. Therefore, he resigned himself from waiting for an offensive from the girl, instead, he'd make an effort to make her a cripple mouse in the face of a lion. The green leaves of the tree saw a blue object fly, as Kaizo launched 20 pixels in her direction, would she avoid, or would she use her blades, Kaizo didn't care, for he was determined to taste victory at any cost. ----- 480 pixels left 9/10 uses left |

So... he expected her to dodge it, or block it. What he probably didn't expect is... for it to hit her squarely in the head with a sickening CRACK. And yes, that's what happened, his pixel something struck her HARD on the head while she was distracted, knocking her out completely as she fell to the ground like a rotten jackfruit. ...What? So it's over already? ._. Well, we still need to remind ourselves that this girl is a half-phantom that's neither dead nor alive. Thanks to the special and weird composition of her bodily structures, the girl is capable of achieving pseudo-immortality by her ridiculously powerful regenerative capability, even after sustaining a fatal case of the dies like a shot to the head. So... something akin to a crowbar to the head?
"You... why you... little...!" Her head was pounding in pain, a bit dizzy after sustaining such a nasty blow to the head but is quick to recover herself. She growled in anger, pushing herself back to her feet, staring at him with narrowed eyes spiked with fury. Damned brat playing dirty with her huh...? She could understand, in a fight you use everything and anything to win. But that still does NOT make it OKAY for people to sucker-punch her like that. She raised her hand, held it in front of her. There was a faint glow of white light appearing from her closed fist--! "YOUMA! No weapons allowed!" The girl jumped slightly and turned back, hastily dropping her hand as she stared in annoyance at a certain person yelling at her from the crowd of audience. Crud dammit, why can't he just stay away from this fight and let her do as she please?! "Tch... fine," The girl grudgingly obeyed, spat once on the ground before turning back to her opponent. "You want to play games? Come on then," |

I am supposing that they both know about the power cancellers, if that's not the case, please tell me and I'll edit my post ![]() ---- His face lost all color for a moment, with his heart matched in rythm to that of the passed, in other words, mimicking that of the falling girl. Or at least it had seemed that way, but before Kaizo could start languishing in melancholy, she stood up, completely unscathed. The gamer felt a duality of sensations as he learnt about the skills that is attacker had. The first and most obvious was an immense feling of relief, incomparable to anything. The second, was something akin to attempting to face the optional boss in an RPG, as the challenge will be greater than that of anything that had been presented before within the game. He'd be able to enjoy the battle that was for sure, but first he had to find a way to defeat her. If he was to hit her every time he shot his pixels, they'd both end at zeroes, on such an occasion, the road would darken before him, his physical condition didn't lend itself for defeating his opponents in hand to hand combat. No, instead he'd use a strategy that if correct, should grant him the side of the winner. The situation was that she had the ability to regenerate her body, however, and as far as he was concerned; that counted as a supernatural power. Therefore, if she regenerates damage unconsciously, even the smallest bruise would lower the uses she had left. Then Kaizo didn't have to actually use his pixels continuousl, and as his DS and cellphone regenerated the pixels he had used once before, he picked one of the many pebbles on the forest floor, and spoke before lunging it at her. "I would go to you, but as you can see, I'd lose in a close combat situation, so I think I'll stay on this side, thanks" After saying that he threw the rock at her face, or made a vain attempt to. Reality wasn't as forgiving on characters as many literary works and videogames were, no, it required hard work for everything, and it was impossible to be born as an expert. So the place where the rock seemed to be aiming at ended up being the girl's left foot. |

She simply stared at the pebble thrown by the boy landing on her foot, seemingly feeling as though she was being ridiculed instead of being taken seriously. "What... the hell are you doing..." The girl raised her head, looking at him with eagle eyes, seriously irritated at his take in action. Well, whatever. Whether he was just being a coward or being stupid or had a plan, that didn't bother her. There's just one thing going on her mind. Win. "Tch," The girl spat once again, kicking the little pebble up into the air as she rotated her body sideways, raising both of her hands into the air, taking a stance similar to that of a baseball batter. As the tiny piece of rock passed her head, went to the highest point it could reach, and went down again level with her eyes... FLASH!!!
In a flash of bright white light the very familiar gigantic sword of Roukanken materialized into view, still in it's jet black sheath, held tightly in her hands over her head. The girl gripped the handle tightly with one hand, bringing another hand to grip the bottom sheath so as it won't fly off, and quite literally, BATTED the little pebble with a loud CLANG, towards her opponent with deadly speed and accuracy, her aim directed to the small spot between his eyes! (while Hakurouken lay forgotten on the floor) "Wait, Youma! I said not to use any weapons!" The familiarly annoying noise came yet again from the crowd behind her, but this time she simply replied with a smirk. "What? I'm not using it to attack him directly, right?" Beware The Penguin Emperor
|
The pebble as predicted, hit her in a place where she wouldn't possibly receive any injuries; a sigh escaped from the gamer's lips, but his gaze never averted the danger ahead. And it wasn't without an excellent reason, as the girl didn't take a second to force two Katanas into existence, one of which remained on the ground, while the other tasked with acting as a baseball bat, an effective one at that. Kaizo couldn't avoid, as all happened within the lapse of a second, thus his only choice was to relctantly use his powers. His hands went as swiftly as he could manage, making it barely below his face, however from his fingertips he generated twenty static pixels, which protected his face from the blow of the pebble, and if necessary, would also stop any possible strikes from the Katanas if required, however, he vanished it just as fast as the object thrown hit the ground, in order to recover pixels. He grinned with mocking confidence, and as soon as he did that, he taunted his opponent with laughter visible in his eyes but not his mouth. "I am glad that you took your swords out, otherwise you'd be beaten with just a slight effort. Now you may have a snowball's chance in the sun!" A simple series of words, designed to hurt pride as much as possible. Kaizo ran to his left, and into the area that had more density of trees, to reduce her capability of movement with the sword. Then abusing his size; he jumped and grabbed a small branch, pulling it down from the tree; it wasn't particularly thick, in reality it was just a stick; howeve it would work for his purpose of creating small cuts and bruises that she'd have to heal. |

Herh... damned brat, doesn't know what he's talking about... Personality isn't something that's easily predicted, even by a genius. Everyone has a different set of personalities, each of them varies greatly between people. So for him to actually expect her to be aggravated by that empty thread is... a bit overly expectant. "Coward..." She muttered in exasperation, picking up Hakurouken from the ground as she simply walked to follow... wherever he's going. "Just what the hell are you doing, playing with a tree like that?" She said in confusion, tucking Hakurouken between her belt as she unsheathed the oversized sword in her hand. "Boy, please remember, this is a tournament. A fight," Her words were unnaturally laced with venom, as she lowered the sword a slight bit, just below her waist and--SLASH! Sliced cleanly through the branch he was holding, not even bothering to come close thanks to the exceptionally long range of Roukanken. "If you don't fight well, you don't survive," Those words mirrored her jaded view of life itself. In her mind, there's no such thing as pride, as game, as... whatever the hell these people call it these days. When people mention fight, the first thing that would pop in her mind is, survive. Screw tactics if you can't even use it right. Thinking about things is good, but overthinking things are never a good thing. You might miss something valuable. Like a speeding car, might miss a red traffic light, see? |

Beware The Penguin Emperor

I forgot to put uses in the last post, and with the use I am wasting here, they are 7/10, pixels left 560 (20 recovered as always) ---- It had all gone exactly as he had pictured, with her sword lowered, he had a better chance for attack, and though he couldn't fight at his fullest, and his threats were shallow, it did give him a better chance to fight back. He thought first of creating a sword longer than ers by utilizing 60 pixels, sliing her head immediately in the same direction that his stick was pointing at before it had been cut, that is to say, her head; but his reality would collapse before him if he ever used spam attacks. Instead, he'd break the wind between them, with a bullet of nostagia in the form of 8-bit. And though he never lived during that era, he still had the power to restore it. The whole thought process happened within less than a milisecond, and as he finished , he released his grip on the stick. He pointed his palm towards her face, then shot a blast that was purple on the outside and white on the inside, using sixty compressed pixels to make the attack much stronger. Then he hoped for the best and that it would hit his objective, or not, regardless; he was having fun. |

She was a bit too slow too react. Just half a millisecond slower, and the 60-bit bullet struck her squarely in the head, knocking her out yet again with the force of three crowbars slammed HARD at her face! But before she could hit the ground the girl would immediately regain consciousness, as well as her bearing.
Her regenerative power activated instantaneously and automatically, bringing her back to the realm of the living as she shook her head to get rid of the dizzying sensation from the force of the hit itself. She spat to the ground in irritation, feeling something wet and sticky on her head. It was only when she brought her hand in front of her did she realized how red it was. ...Alright. A faint smirk appeared on her face as she raised Roukanken yet again. They're in the middle of some dense wood and... who said she can't use her swords effectively in such a constrictive situation like this? He said that, not her. SLASH! One swift movement as she placed Hakurouken back into her sheath, Roukanken still in one of her hand, unmoving since the last 2 seconds she raised it. He probably didn't notice it, and she doubted he would, but the tree he's standing right next to? Yeah, it was cleaved right through. It wouldn't be long before the tree itself would topple down right above him, as indicated by the tiny little cracking sound of the tree.

She was hit, but her regenerative skill had proven to be stronger than death itself. It was a thoroughly amazzing sight to be able to witness her constantly returning to life from things that would've otherwise proven fatal. Nevertheless, his brief moment of admiration was cut short by a sound comng from his back. Kaizos reflex and good sense made him turn around just in time to see a rather large tree toppling upon him. He feared for his life, yet he couldn't leave rationality aside. By utilizing 20 pixels in their unmoving form, Kaizo was able to slow down the movement of the tree for a second, before it was able to break through the pixel defense. this moment allowed Kaizo to jump aside, though his speed wasn't even close to enough to dodge completely. His right shoulder was hit, dislodging it from its normal position, and sending him tumling for around seven feet. He kneeled on the ground and clenched his teeth with as much strength as he could muster, afterwards relocating his arm as best he could without the aid of a chiropractor. It was even more painful than when it was dislodged, but he withstood. He still had a fair capacity for mobility, and would still continue to fight; however, he decided to stay kneeling on the ground for the time, all the while holding his right shoulder. |

"What? Is that it?" The girl said in disappointment as she swung Roukanken over her shoulder, staring at the injured boy kneeling on the ground. Well... she supposed people these days can't really handle much... Shame. She expected something that would at least keep her on the edge. The silver-haired girl gave a sigh, turning around as she dispelled both of her swords, Roukanken and Hakurouken cracking and smashing into pieces like broken glass. "Fine. Just surrender, sometimes it's easier than to fight a losing battle," She was undoubtedly confident about her victory, willing to apparently let her guard down and turn her back at her opponent. She really doesn't consider the boy to be much of a threat. You can't expect anything more than a seven hundred years old half-phantom. |

5/10 uses, 280 pixels left ----- As he heard her speak, cackled like a maniac on the inside, from what he heard, she thought that he was already done for, she wanted him o surrender because she thought he'd lose. The sheer absurdity of the situation just made him laugh on the inside, especially once he considered that he was using less than a hundredth of his potential power to avoid risking himself to fall into a coma. "Well then I guess I must...continue with my pragmatism With that said, he shot 200 compressed pixels directly into her body, now this were enough to shatter concrete, he was hoping that if they hit, she'd at least take some time to restore herself. He stood up, adrenaline building up in his body, that same substance would reduce the amount of pain he felt, as with all humans in that situation, but it would also mean that when the effect ended, he'd feel much more pain for all the extra effort. |
