"Eeeeeh??? Me?"

Despite his earlier whining he went and did it anyway. Not without complaint though. "Geh... why did I have to agree..." The boy grunted in annoyance, lifting one of the crates after filling it with a couple of trash can's worth of trash (while averting weird stares from people around them). Okay... so all he had to do is to pretend to accidentally run into the van, right?

"Oh no, I stepped on a banana peel!"
He said loudly as he walked out of the alley stiffly like a robot. "Oh no, I'm losing my balance!" The boy turned around on the spot. "Oh, my bad, I accidentally crashed the crate full of nothing suspicious into the van!" The boy stopped spinning, lifted the crate over his shoulder, paused for a moment as he took aim and tossed the crate lightly at the van. For Seth it can be considered as a light throw. That thing has got to weigh a couple dozens of pounds...

His acting was perfect, no one would suspect a thing.

"That plan.. is pretty darn good." Jameson said to Robyn. "But it means you and I will have to rob the man while Seth is distracting them." He said taking the costume clothes and mixing and matching them to create some sort of cop, trenchcoat, gas mask, cabbie hat hybrid that was so conspicuous anyone within a mile radius would be instantly suspicious. Which in Jameson's mind was a complete victory.

"Let's go rob an innocent man." Jameson said with a broad grin. "uh.. wait.. That.. soudned bad.. Anyhow! Let's go rob a man... FOR JUSTICE!"

~~~~
"WHAT THE HELL?!" The thief said loudly as the box his their car. He stepped out eyeing the damage with a glower. "What in the WORLD were you THINKING you moron!"
"Hey. Bronzo, calm down. Yer' drawing... attention.." A second man said looking around. "Hey kid. How much you got on you? You gimme all ya' got an' I'll call it square, k?"
Robyn kept Seth and the other thugs visible in the corner of her eye to make sure that nothing got out of hand, and so far it looked like things were going according to plan. That in and of itself was a relief.
"Unless this guy is some sort of prodigy, I don't think we'll need three people to rob him," she stated simply as she pulled on one of the coats, welcoming the extra layer of fabric between her and the cold. She tucked her hair underneath a wide brim hat and donned a giant pair of sunglasses, deciding this was probably one of the more ridiculous disguises she'd ever worn. At least her identity was hidden, and her self in the past would never think it was her.
She saw their intended target not too far off and figured out a quick plan.
"I don't know what your manhandling skills are like, so I figure he looks small enough where I can be the brawn in this operation. Follow close behind and I'll knock him off into an alley and hold onto him while you search for...whatever it is we're trying to take." If Jameson planned on needing more than one person to rob this man, it sounded like he didn't know exactly where the item was hidden on his body otherwise a slick pickpocket could likely do it on their own.
Pulling down her hat and putting her hands in the coat pockets, she nonchalantly walked down the sidewalk and avoided making eye contact with anyone she passed. She walked up beside the unsuspecting man but only lingered for a moment before using her hip to knock into him and throw him off balance into a nearby alleyway. If that worked, she'd take hold of his arms behind his body and trap one of his legs while she waited for Jameson to do the pat-down.
"Eeeh?! B-but... I'm brooooke...!" ;____;
Dammit, why does he have to be the bait of the team... He can't move even if he wanted to, they needed more time than just a couple of minutes...
This is too scary. What are they gonna do to him... He could run, but he might not be able to buy them enough time.
Just a bit longer... so long as they don't have anything in mind...
As soon as the man was in the alleyway away from the crowd Jameson moved in on him, rising to his full height and taking on a deeper voice. "WE'RE GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!"
"AUUUGHH!?!!!?!?!?!"
"YOU'RE GONNA DIE!"
"PLEASE GOD NO!!!!"
"WE'RE GONNA SLIT OYUR BELLY AND CHOKE YOU ON YOUR ENTRAILS! WE'RE GONNA PULL THAT SMARTY PANTS BRAIN OUT THROUGH YOUR FUCKING ASSHOLE. WE'RE GONNA RAPE YOUR EYES OUT!!! TO DEATH!!"
"Urk..." The man passed out.
"That was FUN!" Jameson said with a grin. "I NEVER get to use intimidation.." He paused, stopping to think. He pulled the briefcase out from the man which was locked by a combination lock. "Oh...... We don't know the code and now he's.... whoops.."
~~~~~~~~~~

Two more men got out from the car, circling around Seth as they all glared at him. "Broke, huh?"

"I see..."

"No money..."

They all glowered as him as the drew into a tight circle around him. The lead one took out a knife and pointed it at him with a menacing grin. "Give me yer' wallet, punk. OR ELSE!"

The situation was getting worse by the minute!!!!

Robyn actually hung her head in embarrassment as she held onto the shocked and struggling man, although in the end it was at least a little bit funny. Was it bad that she found things like death threats amusing? Or maybe it was just because she knew who the threat was coming from and...well...he wasn't exactly very threatening.

All that aside, she laid the unconscious man on the ground once Jameson picked up the briefcase and was ready to head back to recall Seth, but there was a minor complication.

"Oh...... We don't know the code and now he's.... whoops.."

Robyn let out a "you've got to be kidding me" sigh and took the briefcase from Jameson, crouching down on one knee and propping the item on her leg.

"Don't worry, I have the code. You keep an eye on boy genius across the street."

She knew shooting the lock would pose serious risk to damaging the contents of the briefcase, no matter how careful she was. Locking strength against physical break-ins was variable depending on the maker, so there was no way to tell how strong they were. Instead she was going to fall back on another of her mastered tricks of the trade. She pulled one of the sliding latches to the side as if trying to open it and made her way down the row of four digits, toggling each one carefully until she got the result she was looking for, the whole process taking about ten seconds or so. After nailing that latch, she copied the number on the other side, and--

Click

Like I said, a minor complication.

"Just the copper bit, right?" she asked for confirmation as if getting it open was no big deal, easily locating the piece and extracting it. She closed the lid and relocked it, set the briefcase next to its owner, and pushed herself to standing. "I'm guessing you want to hold onto this yourself," she said as she dropped the filament into his hand and adjusted her hat and sunglasses with the other.

"...Is he STILL over by that van? What the hell is he doing... and knives, seriously. What is this, a Michael Jackson music video? Get out of there Seth, they can't afford to chase after you..." She turned briefly to Jameson. "Any heroic ideas fit into the timeline for this one?"

"HAAUUUUU?!!??!" ;____________________;

This is SOOO NOT what he had bargained for!

So in the end, he just made a run for it. "I'M SORRYYYYY!!!!!" Knocking one of them out of the way, which isn't particularly hard considering it's him, breaking the circle and making a way out for himself the boy quickly took a thousand steps, disappearing from the scene faster than the dust could settle behind him.

...

Well.

"You didn't think I was actually gonna let him run off, huh," Jameson and Robyn would suddenly hear a voice right behind them, turning around they would find Seth. Or rather... V. The boy was seriously intent on just escaping and making as much distance from the four thugs as possible, but V took hold of him at just the right moment, taking a detour and back to where the two suspiciously disguised two were.

Are you kidding me?! They were scary!!! Could have killed me back then!!!

"Well, this all works out properly.." Jameson said as he retreated with his group back to the base. He took off the coat and moved over to the window where the past him was waiting impatiently for this whole ordeal to begin in the first place..

~~~
It wasn't terribly long until it had all played out. Seth showed up and the man soon after, they all talked and then Jameson took Seth upstairs to tell him about the time travel, meanwhile Jameson of the future/present went and turned off the houses security so that moments later the criminals could burst in, flash bang and smoke bomb the room.
"Okay. Now we follow them.." Jameson said as he went around the corner of the building to find.....
Another Jameson.
"Well not quite." Future Jameson said with a frown.
"Bloody hell." Present Jameson said holding his head. "We'd just sorted all this time travel stuff out! and they're getting away!"
"Yeah, I know." Future Jameson turned to Seth. "Follow them with your super senses. Stay on their trail. Robyn you're with him." Future Jameson turned to present Jameson. "You need to do what I just did so you can become me."
"Where have you been anyhow?"
"I hid outside the windows on the other side. Don't look out the windows, because you'd see us standing there. That's why he said that." Future Jameson said. "Listen, this one is simple. Hop forward an hour and do whatever comes naturally." He said with a grin. "Meanwhile I'm going to go resume being us, here. Now. "
"Okay then... One hour.." Present Jameson said opening up the time watch and setting it before vannishing.
Meanwhile future Jameson now became present Jameson, having done what he just sent himself to do.
He grabbed his bike and threw on his helmet, driving out to catch up to the others.
She wasn't even going to try and ask questions about what was going on. She gave up on trying to understand time travel before she even began, and following directions from future selves seemed easy enough. Maybe her future self would come back and explain everything in a manner she could actually understand, but she wasn't going to get her hopes up.
Besides, they had a van to follow.
She wasn't about to try and chase it down, so she figured the next best thing was taking their own mode of transportation. Fortunately as far as timing went, her past self had just arrived and conveniently left her bike parked out in front. Reaching her hand into her pocket, she took hold of the keys to the ignition and steadied the bike in an upright position, flipping up the kickstand and walking it down the road a ways. The last thing she wanted to do was have the engine heard from inside the office.
"Here, you hold onto this,"
she told Seth after pulling off her hat, knowing it wasn't going to survive the trip. "And no left field questions this time!"
Once the two were seated, the bike roared to life and they took off after the van in the distance.
It wasn't long before they came to the outskirts of the city where all of the shady and dilapidated buildings were found, to include a bunch of old warehouses. The last time she found herself in this location things didn't turn out too well, but she was still able to muse about the cliche nature of the site.
"This must be the only good place for criminals to hang out...I wonder if groups ever get into fights on who gets to use it next?"
She turned off the bike and hid it between some old shipping crates a hundred meters or so from the building and took care to approach cautiously. If they knew what they were doing, they'd have guards posted. If not, this would be ridiculously easy. Robyn snuck past some other broken crates and boxes until she was next to the building, peering between an opening in two wooden slats.
"There they are... we'll keep an eye on the Lollipop Guild from out here until Jameson catches up. Assuming he will..."
Dammit, how many times does he have to repeat this, he doesn't handle bikes well... They make him see the world spin and he seriously just felt like barfing at the moment. And no matter how much he sort of dreaded reaching wherever the kidnappers went, he was seriously glad the ride decided to end. But putting that aside...
"You sure Jameson's gonna come here fast enough?" Seth said, slapping the aforementioned hat (which surprisingly survived the trip) back on her head, peering over the crates as he eyed the... whatever they're supposed to look at. And he couldn't help but feel like they're veering away from the original plan a bit. Jameson's supposed to be shot sometime sooner or later, but he's not here... and from previous usage of the Time Machine he supposed it doesn't have the ability to jump through space, just time.
Still pretty bizarre to be honest. "I vote we go in first, then when Jameson comes we can bail away quickly. They don't seem to be a bunch worthy of fear," Seriously, remember back then? They looked as though they're nothing more than a bunch of random thugs wanting to steal a Time Machine. Doesn't sound too dangerous. Aaaand... typical V, without waiting for any answer he just sneaked out of their hiding place, leaving Robyn behind and heading off to the kidnappers hideout, doing his best to keep himself out of sight.
The two would find the building to be largely unguarded. The premises were out far from town and it seemed to be a rather small operation going on down here. However a quick glance inside would show they had their manpower focused within. A half dozen men were gathered within the building.
And not so far away a lone figure atop a building waited. Silent but careful she watched over the warehouse buzzing with troops and the area around it looking for her sole target. A single man that she'd been sent to take care of.. permanently...
"That's probably not a--dammit." Before she could protest his actions he was already inside the building, and while she had to agree they didn't seem to be much of a threat, she didn't know what good going inside would do. If nothing else it might just trap them inside if they were ever spotted and fired upon. But common knowledge knew that Robyn rarely considered herself the one that was trapped in those situations.
She followed after him quietly and snuck in behind, getting a good look at who was inside. It was a more impressive display than what they had posted outside (read: nothing), but it's not like they were housing a small militia or anything.
"Hey, you. No sudden movements. It'll just put the hostage in danger, anyway. We don't do anything unless they do."
Even though her style was usually more offensive than defensive, she'd gotten used to being more passive in these sorts of situations. This wasn't the first person she'd tried to track down for rescue purposes, and when another party was involved, she found out that excessive show of force was often a bad thing.
"So be ready. But don't DO anything."
Don't do anything? "Then what's the point of coming here in the first place?" Seriously, the only reason they're here is to save the kidnapper, right? It's probably acting smart, but take that seriously, when is anything going to be done? "Hey, instead of not doing anything, how about... you go to the back, and wait for my signal," And if she probably forgot they still needed to recover the Time Machine from the kidnappers for Jameson to send back in time for them to use the Time Machine to travel through time in the first place.
"Don't worry too much, we can handle this," Seth said with a small salute, heading out from their hiding and went to the front door, making sure Robyn had already gone to the back before-
Knock knock.
"Pizza delivery!"
BANG
As soon as Seth revealed himself a shot tore through the area headed straight for the boy's skull, aimed to paint the wall in bits of him...
But another sound was heard just before the bang. Tires squealing. A bike tore into the area as the shot was fired, Jameson threw himself off the bike into the path of the shot tackling the boy and throwing up a psychic barrier. However even as he threw it up the bullet slid through it like a hot knife through butter, only slowed by a millisecond.
Just long enough to bury itself deep in Jameson instead of it's intended target. Jameson crashed into the dirt as blood gathered slowly in his biker's jacket. He forced himself up, dragging himself around a corner out of the line of fire. His breathing was heavy and irregular. "Stupid! Stupid.. boy.. AUGHH!" Jameson said breathing irregularly. "Do.. Don't just.. rush in.." He winced. "But.. thi.. this.. is my cue.." He hit the watch to teleport to the past just like the him whom had been shot had shown up for them earlier..
Once more they were alone. An assassin was somewhere and the enemies within were storming out of the door to see what the shot was about.
Sorry guys. School's a bitch.
Robyn found her feathers quite ruffled when he told her to "get to the back" in a semi-chauvanist suggestion (that came off as more of an indirect command). She was getting riled up and ready to protest, but it looked like she wasn't going to have time for that.
Out of no where Jameson lept through the air with approximately the same time as a distant gun shot, and it didn't take long to put two and two together.
"Jameson?!"
She had mixed reactions to the situation, wanting to destroy Seth for being a class A idiot for giving away their covert position, as well as shock at seeing Jameson take the gunshot that--to be honest--she didn't know was coming. Before she had the chance to get to him to inspect the damage, he disappeared just as quickly as he'd arrived, and now they had a situation on their hands.
Legitimately pissed at the outcome, she grabbed Seth by the collar of his shirt and pulled him behind some cover that was aptly chosen based on the direction the gunshot came from. They needed something solid between them and wherever their targeter was located. Needless to say she may have been a bit unnecessarily rough when she pushed him into the defense position.
"WHAT the hell did I just tell you? Clearly everything's on track since Jameson just got SHOT, but I feel like bleeding to death wasn't a necessary part of this operation!" All manner of sound discipline was lost since it was clear someone knew where they were, so she had no reserve when it came to giving him a verbal one-two-punch. It was particular times like these that made it extremely difficult for her to work with a partner or group. "There are times to rush in, and that was NOT one of them! Try not to be such a damn liability!"
And around that point was when they heard rushed footsteps and the sound of shouting from adult males, trying to figure out what all the commotion was.
"Sunnuva bitch. Looks like you got what you wanted. Maybe no one but me needs to hear this warning, but only non-lethal attacks, if necessary." She walked out nonchalantly from their hiding spot, still clad in her sunglasses, hat and coat with her hands in her pockets. "Alright boys, the gig's up. Call off your rooftop goon, give us the hostage and his belongings and we'll call it a day, no hard feelings." She didn't know if it'd be that easy, but some gangs really were that dumb. While she waited for a response, she scanned the area with her eyes to see if she could pick up a reflection or silhouette of the sniper.
