"Man... I really don't know what I'm going to do today.." Jameson said as he sat down the papers and adjusted his monocle. "I thought wearing fancy clothes would be fun for a whole day but that got boring rather quickly." He took his top hat off the table and set it on his head, wandering around in his fancy suit. "So. fucking. Bored." SHABOOM An explosion of light and sound and suddenly a second Jameson stumbled forward shaking his head. "Wait. where am I? When was this?" He said turning to the other Jameson. Jameson's eyes widened so much his monocle fell out and his pipe dropped to the floor. "Ah. Fancy suit day." Jameson said staring at himself. "I really don't get me sometimes." "Wait... Okay... Three possibilities. And time travel is one of them." "It's time travel." "Doomed alternate future or fulfilling a stable time loop?" "Stable time loop." "Cool. World saving stuff?" "Yeah." "sweet." "Listen. In ten minutes someone will burst through that door. Trust him and everything he says. And DON'T look out the window!" "Why?" "Because your future self told you to!" "...right. got it." "Ten minutes though? That sucks... That's so long to wait." "Don't worry. One of the kids is gonna show up in a second to help you out. Go get a mop and a pair of pants. OH! And don't forget to bring the copper butter knife. That's critical." "... got it." "K. Well. i'm out." "How far in the future are you from anyhow?" "Thursday." "How's Thursday?" "Wet." "...... K." Jameson pulled up his wrist, typing into the small console causing another flash of light and just like that he was gone. "......Today is off to a GOOD start." Jameson said, picking up his pipe. He blew into it sending a bunch of bubbles into the air. "Very good start." |

...No more coffee, thought Seth, as he closed the door to the office behind him. "I thought I just saw two Jameson... in fancy outfit too..." It was probably a good thing he thought the second Jameson was just a hallucination caused by the consumption of coffee. One moment there he was actually glad that V insisted they keep a gun in his desk drawer for emergency. You know, impostors are never nice. What's he doing here anyway? Seth works here, why else would he be here. More importantly, "What's up with that suit?" |

Jameson dashed over to Seth quickly. "HURRY UP YOU IDIOT!" He said pulling him away from the door. "OH, AND DON'T LOOK OUT THE WINDOW OR YOU'RE FIRED." He said setting the mop down beside the pants he'd brought out. He still wasn't EXACTLY sure why they had those but for now it was fine. "Listen.. I have it on good authority that something REALLY cool is about to happen.." Jameson said before turning to the door. "In ten minutes.." ~~~~ TEN MINUTES LATER ~~~~ Jameson had left, gotten cups, chairs and set them up properly in front of the door. Ten minutes was a surprisingly long time. But FINALLY the door swung open, a man rushed inside and crashed right into Seth sending them toppling over with coffee spilling everywhere. "Ah. So that explains the mop and pants." Jameson said handing the pants to Seth and mopping up the mess. "you had the mop ready..?" The dissheveled man said curiously. "W-W-well anyhow! HELP! I need your help! Two men in costumes stole my special secret device's main part! AND IT COULD MEAN THE END OF TIME AND SPACE AS WE KNOW IT!" "A wrist-based time travel devise?" "..... How..? Wow! Those rumors about you being a great detective were true!" "Yeah. They were. Anyhow. We'll TAKE THE CASE!" "I... never expected you to believe me so easily.. And I never mentioned paying you." "This one is on the house!" |

That was... insightful of him, readying a pair of pants and a mop for this very specific occasion of someone crashing into him and him spilling coffee all over his pants in the WDA office. Though he wasn't inclined to agree with him that this occasion is 'cool'. He really wasn't sure why he's complying with such a ridiculous order of 'DON'T LOOK OUT THROUGH THE WINDOW'. Of course, with the threat of being fired it was enough as a restraint. "You still haven't told me what's the deal with everything..." The boy said, returning from the kitchen after changing his pants. "All I heard was something about time-travel and... well... what's going on?" |

"Let's find out from him.." Jameson said with a grin. "Around ten minutes ago two men in brown suits jumped me demanding a component from my invention.. Specifically all they wanted was the copper filament! I wasn't sure why but they knew it was a time travel device.. They took it from me and ran off!" The man said in shock. "If they know about my device.. they could be trying to recreate it! And if my device fell into the wrong hands then it COULD mean the end of the world as we know it!" Jameson frowned a bit as he held his chin. "Anything else..?" "Well... earlier today some men tried to break into my lab! That's why I was transporting the device in the first place. I was trying to take it to a secure location.." "I see.." Jameson said as he pondered it over. "Well. For now me and my associate need to discuss some.... stuff." Jameson said as he grabbed Seth's coat and ran with him up the stairs. "Okay.. so... a future version of me showed up this morning telling me this would all happen, so it's all the truth! But if it is all true.. then I think the most likely thing is that WE'RE the thi- " "AUGGHHHHHH!" Jameson dashed downstairs. however as he did an explosion of light and sound flooded his senses blinding him. He staggered forward before falling into the floor... Gas filling his lungs.. By the time he awoke the man and his machine... were gone! |

It might've been chilly, but Robyn was going to get as much mileage out of her bike as possible. If that meant freezing her tush a bit for the convenience of not having to allot twenty minutes for a two mile commute, so be it. As she rounded the corner she heard a faint boom off in the distance even over the rumble of the engine. The girl couldn't help but shake her head with a sigh. "Twenty bucks says that came from the WDA..." Pulling up in front of the building she turned off the engine, lowered the kickstand, and pulled off her helmet to carry under her arm. Once again the door to the agency was pushed open, this time with a bit of lamenting reluctance at what insanity she'd find inside today. Instead of being greeted with a crowd of bickering or jovial coworkers, or some sort of a scene involving something caught on fire, Robyn was greeted with a slowly dissipating cloud of smoke and a relatively empty front office. "And...here we go again. What the hell happened here?" She left the front door wide open to help air out the office, waving a free hand through the air as she coughed the caustic gas out of her lungs a few times. Fortunately she seemed to come at just the right time since it was no longer strong enough to knock someone out. Smells were one of those things that didn't leave the memory easily, and this particular defensive weapon was one with which she was familiar. It didn't take long to find her boss, toppled on the floor at the bottom of the stairs. The girl crossed the threshold, albeit with a minor sense of urgency, and stooped to help him stand up. She stopped being even remotely alarmed or surprised by the things she happened upon in this office a long time ago, unless of course it was along the lines of someone missing a limb. "Jameson? Please tell me this has something to do with you being bored out of your mind." A girl could dream, right? Not to mention something was rather out of place... "Nice suit, Mr. Fancy Pants. Did your date come equipped with a chloroform bomb? That's one well-prepared lady." |

"Geh... I'm stating the obvious but the man is gone..." The boy said as he helped Jameson up. As bizarre as everything sounded at this moment there's really no room for them to be surprised if what Jameson said was true or he just missed April Fool's day. He's not even gonna argue since it's Jameson... Wait a second, if they needed to steal the device from the man then they would need a time travel device to get back to the past before the man came to the office in the first place. Wait, Robyn! "Don't leave the door open!" Despite how it would defy common sense to close the door to a gassed room he darted across the office and slammed the door shut. "And DON'T look out of the window!" The boy said, only now realizing how important it is to keep a stable time loop and not cause any inconsistencies. Though you had to admit, this is pretty confusing... "Alright so first we need to get the Time Machine... but where do we even start?" |

Jameson felt his senses slowly return to him, each word Robyn said pounded in his skull like a hammer blow. This really wasn't fun... How had those guys got in in the first place? His home was protected like a fortress. No one would notice that on casual use of it but since what had happened in the FIRST WDA he'd installed a lot of securities..... Which meant his protections were deactivated.. "Ugh.. this only confirms my theory.." Jameson said as he rubbed his head. "We're the thieves that stole the part from the scientist in the past.." He said shaking his head trying to get rid of the pounding pain in his skull. "Knowing what we do know, we know that the device is going to be stolen with the man. However the device won't work for them thanks to us stealing the copper filament in the past meaning the criminals won't get their hands on it. But we need to leave the device in his hands so that he'll come hire us to get the filament back allowing us to be here when the thieves showed up!" He turned to Robyn. "Don't look out the window..... The house is important too. We must have been outside the house at some point.... This is confusing but Listen. Robyn. We're trying to find a man who was just kidnapped from here! He had a time travel device. He came here telling us a critical part had been stolen. However, after that he was taken away! Based on everything I just said the rest should be clear.. we're going to be the thieves who steal it!" "Because myself from the future is going to show up right now and give us the time travel devise from AFTER the case is solved!" He said geasturing to the space beside him. "Right... now!" He said motioning towards it. "Uh... Now!" "......" "Now?" "......... Uhm.. hang on... NOW!... NOW!... NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW?! NOW? NOOOW? What the hell! I looked at a clock and I have perfect memory! Future me should have known exactly when to set it for! Why isn't he here?" An explosion of light filled the room as Jameson staggered forward holding his side as blood pooled around his ribs. "Here." He said handing the wrist device to him. "See it through to the end.." "Uhm... When are you from?" "Thursday." Jameson said falling backwards and collapsing into the floor. Blood pooling around their feet. The other Jameson stared at himself before leaping to action. He knelt down taking his pulse. however before he could do much more Jameson was surrounded in light again and vanished, his watch activating an automated process. Leaving a large pool of blood behind. "That much blood.... And his pulse..." Jameson stared at the ground. "He's dying.. I'M.. dying." He looked to the calender. Thursday. "I thought he meant next week.. I.. thought.. but.. He meant..Today." Jameson popped to his feet grinning broadly. "THIS IS SO EXCITING!" Edited by Cypriss, Jan 9 2012, 07:40 AM.

"WHAT is with all of these window comments? What the hell is out the window that I'm not supposed to see?" She really had to fight to not look out the window due to Big Red Button syndrome, but Seth and Jameson both seemed pretty stern about their instructions regarding this matter. Jameson rambled on about what was supposed to happen and what they were dealing with, and the girl couldn't help but give him a deadpan, incredulous stare. At the end of his rant she practically had to contain herself from bursting into laughter, but then again, stranger things had happened in Hyakuji than what he was describing. And why did the concept of time travel have to be so damn complicated. She considered herself pretty intelligent, but time loops and repeating history to ensure things in the future preserved things in the past were a bit above her since she tended to think of consequences as rather permanent. Waitaminute... "Time travel. You're serious." As if that wasn't the icing on the cake, she nearly had a heart attack from the bright flash in the room that resulted in a quick draw of one of her pistols, only to be pointed at...another Jameson? Only this one didn't look too good. Not much of what he said made sense to her, but at least it was a confirmation that Jameson didn't need to be given a swift ride to the loony bin. She wasn't dreaming any of this, right? "THIS IS SO EXCITING!" ...Nope. This was real. She really picked the wrong day to wander into the office. "I guess I'm following you lot since you seem to have a far better grasp on all this than I do. And Jameson Bond here apparently has all the answers." For some reason a crazy guy in a strange suit with a small-but-big time traveling box was coming to mind. "Hey, that guy didn't happen to call himself... no, nevermind. Let's get going." God help her if that's where this was headed. |

"No wait, before we do anything..." The metavirus suddenly interrupted, taking a piece of paper and a pen from the desk and started drawing/writing something... Wait... V, what's up? "You know how ridiculously complex it is to keep a stable time loop..." V said, relentlessly doing whatever he's doing on that piece of paper. "We need to know what's going on, what's up, what we're supposed to do, how things are supposed to go... and really, it's hard to keep track when only two people in this room has eidetic memory," You're including yourself in...? He ignored that question, and continued making his diagram in silence. Or at least it looked like a diagram... "Alright, done," Spoiler: click to toggle ...That is one horrible writing... "Shut up," He snapped, turning his attention to Robyn and Jameson as he slid the paper across the table for the two to see. "See, this is what I deduced so far. According to the timeline and my own assumption we have no need to go look for the man. Not yet anyway. Right now, first we go back to the past and steal the copper filament from the man, leave the time machine with him. We then follow the man to the office, wait for the thieves to come out. At that time we break into the office, make sure the past us doesn't see us. When the explosion happened I assumed the thieves were here as well, and somehow in the struggle we got a second time machine and the thieves kidnapped the man. That's where things get messy, we need to rescue the man some time in the future. But before that Jameson need to go back in time to tell Jameson about the whole situation. Around that time we find out where the man is, and go to rescue him. Around that time as well Jameson needs to be shot, go back to the present, give us the time machine and go back to the future," That... sounded complex. "Shut up, it looks easy when it's on the paper," Edited by Fin, Jan 9 2012, 07:14 PM.

"Woah!!! That's so confusing!!!!" Jameson said looking at the paper. "But it makes PERFECT SENSE! Except me getting shot, that sucks! But we'll figure it out! I get shot all the time, most of the time without advance notice!" Jameson reached to his wrist watch plugging in several digits into the spaces. It all seemed fairly standard. Nothing too complex.. He hit the button causing a flash of light and..... They were in the same place..? He took out his cellphone which was synchronizing and soon popped up a new date and time, which was the same date but an earlier time. "Hunh. It missed my programmed desired time by like.. ten minutes. No wonder the first one showed up ten minutes early and the other one showed up several minutes late. The accuracy isn't very good..." Jameson suddenly turned. "Shoot! I'm coming down stairs! Everyone outside!" He said moving them along. Once they were outside the window he checked the time. "Okay.. We have ten minutes until my future self shows up and tells me about all this. So we need to get some disguises from upstairs, steal from the guy, and then hide and wait for the kidnappers to show up... I'll go track down our target with my psychic powers. you two sneak into the upstairs and steal two costumes." |

Needless to say his so-called diagram explanation did little more than make things more confusing, but this was probably one of those situations where the less she thought, the easier it was to grasp. After being ushered outside, Robyn glanced down at her watch to see exactly what time would be ten minutes from then, knowing that they would have to be ready by then, not just have disguises chosen. At least now the window comment from earlier sort of made sense. Having no need for questions at this point, she set out with her partner to track down part one of this insane plan. "Just follow what I do and this should be easy." After all, she didn't earn her underground reputation by getting caught all the time. It being winter, chances were good that all the windows were locked, so their only other option was to walk straight through the door. The back door, that is; especially given what sorts of crazy security measures Jameson had taken to keep intruders out, she could only imagine what would happen if they tried to pry a window open. Moving around the building and grasping the doorknob and turning the latch as quietly as possible, she walked in and slipped off her boots. It was a bigger risk to walk through the office with squeaky, wet shoes than it was leave something where Jameson could potentially see it if he happened to enter this part of the office. Once they were inside it was a matter of getting upstairs without Jameson noticing. There was only one set of stairs and using the elevator was out of the question. At least a newer office meant fewer squeaky floorboards, and shoe-less feet were probably the most effective means of silent travel. Alright. Quick and quiet. It was strange that even though she was slinking through the inside of the office, in the back of her mind it felt reminiscent of a completely different scene with which she was familiar (albeit a more dangerous one). She wasn't sure what Seth's experience was with sneaking around (questionable number of girlfriends aside), so she took the lead by keeping a low profile and trying to keep physical objects between them and Jameson's field of vision if he happened to turn his head in their direction. She only had to pause a few times out of caution of being seen before she made it to the staircase, silently taking two at a time until she was out of the line of sight of the first floor. "I'll leave the disguise tracking up to you," she whispered, hoping he was right behind her as she stood at the landing to the second floor. She wasn't entirely sure if Seth was able to be stealthy, but maybe if Jameson hadn't mentioned seeing them earlier, that meant they were successful. |

They managed to sneak upstairs and into one of the room fairly easily. Not sure whether this is due to his innate expertise in sneaking around or the fact that the timeline is fulfilling itself by Jameson not noticing them in the first place... let's not go that far, you know how damn confusing that can be. "Okay, keep watch on the door in case of Oliver or Chetri," He didn't remember meeting them earlier, so they were either out of the office or somewhere up here doing something else, whatever their hobbies are. Welp, whatever, time for a little makeover! Let's see what's Jameson got... he thought, as he opened one of the many drawers and closet in the room. Hrm... oh sweet, a fancy suit from the 18th century or something. He remembered Jonny wearing this during the prom. Not this specific one, of course. Lab coat... Sherlock Holmes? Considering Jameson he might keep one around for Halloween... Oh wow, a karategi. Police uniform... "You should wear this one of these days," He said, absent-mindedly tossing it at Robyn. No complaints. Anyway... let's get back to searching. Drawer upon drawer was drawn open, closet doors swung open, picking up anything necessary and tossing away anything that doesn't interest him--WOAH!!!! Without warning Seth slammed one of the closet door shut, the slamming noise echoed noisily around the room and hopefully it doesn't carry to the ground floor. Whatever the hell he found in that drawer, it... doesn't seem all too pleasant apparently. "No! Don't... don't ask..." He said, panting in shock as he tried to lower his heartbeat rate. In the end they got themselves a couple of trench coat, a couple of fedora, a scarf, a pair of boots, gloves, gas mask, eye patches, paper bags... Yeah, they're aiming to look as suspicious as possible, right? But with all these stuff donned it should be impossible to tell their identity. |

Stag Phone flew in through the window before plopping down in Seth's hand and opening up into phone mode with a map on it's screen. "This is where i'm at." Came Jameson's voice through the earpiece. "Hurry up." ~~~ A short distance later Jameson was pressed against the wall. He leaned out looking around the corner at the man. He checked his watch and glanced back to the WDA. "Still too early.. If we scare him now he'd arrive way too soon.." He glanced back to the man. "So what keeps us busy..?" He extended his mind out before his eyes widened. "Uh oh.. whoever is after him is about to make their move! We've got to distract them first and make them pull back... Then we can steal the part." He said pointing to a black van. "First we need to figure out what to do to that van to get it to back off WITHOUT scaring them away entirely... Some sort of inconvenience.." |

She barely caught the outfit that was tossed at her, and she held it out at arm's length to see what exactly she'd been given. Her face immediately fell when she recognized the uniform, rolling her eyes at the antics of the boy. At least this was an ACTUAL uniform rather than the one involving a plastic badge, fuzzy handcuffs and hot pants that the comment reminded her of. There was only one way to respond to this. "Funny. And I pegged you more for the 'schoolgirl fantasy' type," she said nonchalantly, reaching over to put the clothing away before eyeballing something. "Although...these might come in handy." She pulled off the set of handcuffs from the belt (complete with key) and latched them onto one of her belt loops, giving him a warning glance as she did it. "Don't read into this." Once the items were gathered in a timely manner, she leaned over to glance at the electronic map that Seth now held in his hand and made a mental note of the cross streets. Doing exactly what they did on the way up, she made her descent with some of the gear in hand, creeping as quickly and quietly as possible. At the back door she pulled her boots back on, slipped out the door, and waited for him to catch up before she took off in the proper direction. -------- It wasn't far, so they made it there pretty quickly even with the additional baggage. It seemed like all of the other players had been located, but apparently there was a timing issue. "Inconvenience?" Since the first time lapse had the kidnappers arriving later, that must've meant they (the three of them) found a way to trip them up without scaring them off. But how? While she pulled on one of the trench coats they grabbed, she tried to come up with ideas. Suggesting law enforcement was a bad idea, and it's not like they could create a temporary crowd to block their path. Also, shooting at them could scare them away and potentially thwart the entire kidnapping if they were already worried about being followed. Her only other ideas that were quick and easy and likely effective required weaponizing her sex appeal, and she preferred to avoid that route whenever possible. She seemed fresh out of plans. Unless... She spotted a stack of crates in a nearby alley from behind where the van was parked and got an idea. "Seth, grab one of those crates and put something in it--trash, whatever. Then walk near the van and pretend you slipped and run the crate into the van enough to jar it. It should be enough to get them out to inspect the damage, see what the hell happened, and buy us some time. Avoid actually denting the van so they don't try to hunt you down later. But if they're the type of people we think they are, they aren't going to want to exchange personal information anyway, especially since they're on a tight schedule." It was the best idea she could come up with, unless they thought of something better. |
