Jonathan looked down as a small circle began to glow. This was not a good thing and it probably was about to get a whole lot worse. His experience with magic so far had been extremely bad ones mostly. He looked as the air practically melted away, Jonathan wondered what would be behin the fake veil of magic.

He didn't have lots of time to react when he began to see it. It was human or at least humanoid in shape. Jonathan didn't have much more time to react considering whatever it was lunged forward and grabbed onto the shield with all it's limbs. He didn't know what it's plans was but then Jonathan saw something that was even more revolting.

The creatures neck snapped and then opopped out of shape, the creature basically broke it''s neck but instead of dying it extended into a long body which showed off the creatures goden serpent like eyes. As the head moved around the shield basically trying to bite him Jonathan quickly pulled shadows out from everywhere including his shield which became non existant, hopefully that would make the creature fall to begin with. The shadows started to swirl around the serpent persons head and became like a cell.

The first wall began to quickly appear in front of the head followed by the side walls and finally unless the creature managed to get out of it somehow the back wall of the cell would be formed. Jonathan was hoping that this would give him enough time to stall the thing. He wasn't sticking around to see how it ended though and he backed away from the creature as fast as he could without taking his eyes off of it.

The creature thrashed violently against the cage, hissing and growling clawing at the cage and trying to free itself, however this was fine. Since it couldn't see or use much strength it was well and properly immobilized. Even it's tongue couldn't read the heat within the box allowing him to escape..

Freed from the dead end of the path back into the living room he had two options left. Stairs and another door. However a loud crash from above would give him a hint on which direction was correct... upstairs something was happening!.

Jonathan smiled as he watched the creature thrashing against the cage. It was an effective tactic to use and it should last for a while effectively keeping the thing indisposed. Jonathan looked back as he observed the creature that was within the the cage. It was definetly strange and he was suprised at the creature it was a strange being that Jonathan didn't even know 100% what it was.

Jonathan didn't have much more time to observe the creature before he heard a crashing noise upstairs. He didn't know exactly was happening up there but he was ready to find out. As Jonathan ran up the stairs he focused to recharge the seal in case it was needed in combat when he managed to get up. He was more then likely expecting a fight and one was more then likely going to come. However he was worried if the other guy that he was assisting was in trouble so he ran up the stairs to check what was happening.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

As he dashed up the stairs the same symbol appeared as in the kitchen, however not until after he'd finished climbing them. As soon as he reached the top of the stairs a flash of green would appear behind him and then very quickly two things would happen.

First the door would slam shut and lock.

Second a snake creature would lunge at his back aiming to sink it's long deadly dangerous teeth into the man's back, injecting two sacks of deadly deadly venom if they did indeed connect.

Meanwhile above another crash and... Was that smoke he was smelling..?

Not only that but below the hissing and roaring of the creature he'd left behind suddenly became silent..

This.. wasn't looking good.

As he reached the top of the stairs the same green flash that had occured at the bottom occured again. That was sooo not fair in Jonathans mind. Honestly what was the chance that there would be two of the seals in the SAME BLOODY HOUSE. This was definetly starting to get on Jonathan's nerves and he didn't know how many more times this crap could occured before he decided to attempt to rip the whole house down and deal with whatever came out.

When the door slammed behind him Jonathan turned around to see another snake creature lunging at him with fangs outstretched. This was another bad situation, gathering shadows from the nearby area Jonathan quickly flicked his hands and at an increased rate shadows began to form a wall in front of him. It started going outwards from where he believed the attack would hit him and if the snake thing collided with him he would find despite the thickness of the wall it still had some rather elastic properties. Jonathan was hoping it would fling the creature at the wall and knock it the hell out.

And it worked almost perfectly. The creature smacked backwards off the wall and down the stairs, laying there. But by the quickly spreading pool of blood it was highly improbable that it was 'knocked out'. The creatures, while dangerous, were fairly fragile it seemed. The door behind him swung open and Oliver crashed into him. "Whu?! Huh?!"

Oliver glanced to the wall of darkness. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO COME!" He grabbed the boy's arm leaping over the stair railing and down into the living room, crashing through a table forcefully. As soon as he landed two more of the snake creatures came from the upstairs area as well as a great deal of smoke.

Oliver gathered power to his hand, light energy forming into a tiny pinpoit laser which he fired creating a hole right through one of the snake men. "Slitherskins. They're creatures made from human souls by an evil magus named Reshvul. He's kind of an enemy of mine. He is a crime consultant, he sells 'perfect' crimes to others." He grabbed the boy's arm pulling him along and clearing the house into the streets.

"But this one is wrong, all wrong! The guy was given a perfect crime, that's why there was no evidence. But the guy didn't WANT to murder anyone! If he had he wouldn't have picked old dying men to kill. Something isn't right here... it seems like.. Reshvul was FORCING this guy to murder others for some reason.."

The house was smoking badly now and sirens were wailing not far away... The police were arriving....

But the man wasn't in there.

"This jsut doesn't add up.."

Jonathan smirked again as the creature was quite literally sent falling down the staircase. However from the large pool of blood Jonathan himself doubted that the thing was still alive, it was an unfortunate thing but he was simply defending himself. As the door behind him opened Jonathan sighed before turning around and getting crashed into by the detective he was assisting, suprising him greatly.

When he began to yell at Jonathan it was met with a casual reply. "Well, I thought you might need some help." Jonathan replied calmly, he wasn't really meaning to get into a fight here. After all who knew how many more of those damned creatures were still in the house. As he was pulled over the railing Jonathan shouted "Hey, what the hell?" he followed his detective mainly because of him being pulled along. Jonathan managed to notice more of the snake men coming after them and after observing the detective shoot a hole straight through one of them Jonathan decided to help again. He formed several knives of shadow and threw them back at the other creature.

Jonathan listened as the detective began to explain what the creatures were. They were made from human souls, that was just disgustingly low and disgraceful. He also overheard how he sells crimes to others. Jonathan was suprised at how disgraceful someone could possibly get but he was guessing that whomever this Reshvul was didn't care about such things like morality.

Finally they arrived in the street, as he was let go by the detective he looked back towards the house. It was full of smoke and not only that but Jonathan could hear police sirens in the distance coming closer. When the detective commented that it didn't add up Jonathan thought about it. "Well, if the mage uses human souls maybe he was getting this guy to replenish his creatures by killing older men and taking their souls." Jonathan commented to the detective, it made some sense in his head. However he waited to see what the detective had to say about it.

"Replenishing.... replenishing..." The word meant something to him..... Soemthing from.. "WDA Secret Case filedc 001! And WDA Case files 201! The ritual!"

A massive ritual to kill hundreds using five points of sacrifices. Four men had been killed.....

He turned to the house, closing his eyes and drawing a circle in his mind.

"We're too late... This house was the fifth point! A long time ago Jameson stopped a ritual from being completed that would summon a god by killing everyone within the circle. The circle requires five murders at each point. Later Reshvul assisted the cult in trying to perform it again, but that time Edmund Drake stopped him.. So this time Reshvul hired someone to commit the murders, probably paying him well for each one. And the guy agreed knowing he could kill people already dying. The coworkers were probably poisoned. Their sick days weren't chance, this was ALL part of the plan. And I'm sure somewhere in that house.. is the murderer as the fifth point on the star... The ritual... will be complete if he dies!"

He turned to Jonathan. "If this ritual is complete.. everyone in the city... will become a slitherskin under Reshvul's control. We're talking mass hysteria, international economic crisis, and a literal army of snake monsters with all the powers of every person in the city..."

He turned to the house. "This small time case... just became the biggest most important case in WDA history... and you're the only one here to help me."

"So what do you say? Once more into the breach?"

Jonathan listened to Oliver as he referred to a previous case that he had been in. Jonathan himself wasn't eexactly sure what the case had involved but from the reaction that Oliver had towards it he assumed that it was VERY BAD. Not something that was barely bad but something that was terribly bad like destroying the whole town bad. He then listened as Oliver began to explain some of the previous cases and how they involved this Reshvul guy.

The pieces then began to fit together as Oliver made extremely analytical guesses over what the aim of Reshvul was. Jonathan listened carefully making sure he didn't miss anything and nodding after every few words to show that he understood what Oliver was saying. It was amazing that a criminal could organize something so quickly but even more amazing that a detective could unravel it just as quickly.

When Oliver explained to him the effects that would happen if the ritual was complete Jonathan was sure as hell that he didn't want the ritual to be complete. Despite the fact that they would be rescuing a murderer from his own probably justifyable death if it meant saving the city then Jonathan was well in for it. When Oliver asked him if he was willing to help him again Jonathan instantly replied. "Well I sure as hell don't want to become one of those snake people and I don't think anyone else would." Jonathan looked at Oliver while smiling confidently. "I say let's get the hell back in there and save the town." Jonathan was ready to follow Oliver back into the house even if it meant dealing with more of those stupid snake creatures. In preparation for a fight with them Jonathan began to gather shadows from around him to charge his seal for potential combat.

The duo rushed into the house. The stench of smoke and burning... everything assailing their senses. The smoke forced it's way into their lungs, the sounds filled their ears, the lights dazzeled their eyes, and their flesh tightened as it threatened to burn. Every sense assailed simultaneously by the fire..

For now it was only moderately thick. Oliver, now with a cloth wrapped around his face charged forward to the only door they hadn't gone in which lead down to a basement level. As they moved down the heat, sound, and smoke slowly drew farther away. Since the fire was working down and this place was protected via a layer of concrete it was the safest in the house from the fire.

But between them and the man tied up at the far end of the room were several of the snake men and Reshvul himself. "Alwaysss The interloper.. The WDA isss too clever for it'sss own good.." He said holding a knife above the man before plunging it down.

Oliver shot the knife from his hand with the laser blast, super heating the steel so that the man would drop it. "I dunno. I don't feel particularly handicapped by my clever..ness." He said not feeling all that clever after using a made up word.

Reshvul extended his fangs, sinking them deep into the man. "You now have until the venom killsss him to dessstroy the ritual.."

Oliver turned his focus to the slitherskin. "You get them. I.." He leaped over the railing landing in a crouch. "Am going to END this with Reshvul."

Jonathan covered his mouth with his hat so he didn't end up breathing in to much smoke. The smoke was mildly uncomfortable to say the least but there was more important things at stake then Jonathan's level of comfort. He followed Oliver down into the basement in pursuit of more of those serpent creatures and whatever Reshvul was. Seeing as the smoke and sound began to lessen Jonathan decided it was time to put his hat back on. He removed his hat from around his mouth and placed it back on his head where it rightfully belonged, he couldn't go around with one hand covering his mouth because it would severly hinder him if a fight was to occur and he couldn't have that.

Jonathan observed as the one who he guessed was Reshvul was about to stab the person who was tied up. This was bad, Jonathan was about to fire off something at Reshvul but fortunately enough Oliver had already prevented him from stabbing the man. "Great shot." Jonathan said as he was complimenting Oliver's aim with his laser blast. Jonathan was impressed but this was hardly the time to be impressed as he moved down the stairs while Oliver kinda failed at boasting about his intelligence.

Unfortunately Reshvul then injected the man with his venom so Jonathan knew that there time limit was extremely short "Damnit, if that venom is as deadly as I think it is we are in trouble."They had to get the guy away from his house as soon as possible. Oliver directed him to take care of the slitherskins, in all honesty Jonathan would rather take out the servants then the master any time. He wasn't so sure if he could beat the master of the creatures. As Oliver began to get into a fight with Reshvul, Jonathan began to pull shadows from everywhere and considering they were in the basement there would be lots of shadows. With the shadows he formed several large orbs which were similar to cannonballs that he fired off at the slitherskins hoping to crush them against the wall.

The large cannonballs flyign through the air was fairly effective, managing ot catch one up in it's wake, carrying him across the room into a wall with a rather repugnant crushing sound. He was well and truly dead.

The second moved forward to the base of the stairs, it's body hunched forward as it flicked the air with it's tongue. It slowly moved to the bottom and began to ascend the stairs towards the boy before leaping to tackle him.

The third and final of the serpent creatures leaped up clinging to the roof and crawling along it before getting directly over the boy and dropping, aiming to hit him at the same time as his ally so one of them could sink their teeth in and end the boy's nuisance.
~~~
Reshvul held out his hand gathering power to it, a green flickering flame formed in his fingertips. "Ssso brave.... Ssso bold... To take on your sssuperior without hesssitation.. I must admire that quality in you, even asss i sssnuff it out.." He said with a wicked grin.
"Yeah I don't do the whole fair fight, banter thing." Oliver said firing a laser at his skull, trying to burn a hole through it and lobotomize him. "I go for one hit kills."
The laser got close before bounding off in a random direction. "Sssorry. In my line of work it paysss to be protected from projectilesss."
Oliver pulled out the Iphonic, changing apps. "C.EM.STEALTH. DREAM ON, DREAMWEAVER!" He diffused the light around him becoming invisible.
"Sssorry again.." He said before throwing a dagger which clanged against metal as it struck. "Infrared visssion, no go."
Oliver faded back into the visible spectrum holding onto his knife with a scowl. He changed apps again. "J.PSY.SWORD!" He said forming blades on both arms. "Okay. We do this old school."
Jonathan smiled as one of the cannonballs hit home and squished one of the slitherskins. He was exceedingly happy that he had managed to easily kill one of the creatures but he had more trouble coming, two more of the creatures had begun to move towards him one was going up via the stairs while the other one was climbing across the damned ceiling. In all reality that was hardly fair and it seemed like the creature's were more or less cheating. However Jonathan doubted that those creatures actually cared whether or not they played by the rules.
Jonathan quickly devised a plan that he hoped would work, after all if a joint attack failed both opponent's should be left wide open. As the opponent's began to close in on him Jonathan gathered large amounts of shadows from all the corners and hidden areas full of shadows. He simply began making a box around himself. The wall above and in front of him being the first ones to materialize quickly, to make matters worse for the slitherskin however when they launched themselves at Jonathan as the box was forming large needles could be seen sticking out of the box. Unless they managed to change their directery somehow they would be in big trouble, big needles filled trouble.
The one dropping in from above fell hard against the needles, dying almost instantly with no way to change course or get out of the way.
The one approaching from the stairs fared better, using it's long arms it grabbed onto the railings and pulled itself away at the last moment, gripping them and climbing over the railings, climbing up along the side of the stairs and then jumping down to land behind the boy where hopefully the box hadn't formed yet and he could strike from behind.
Not only that but the arcane symbols in the room all seemed to be coming to life with brilliant green energy. Whatever was going on was nearing completion!
~~~~

Reshvul formed the green fire into a blade. A wicked curved blade with many jagged 'fangs' along it's body. So that once it sank into the victim it would shred and tare and eviscerate. Each one dripping with poison, as per his M.O.

Oliver engaged him without pause, two blades dancing rapidly around the foe's single sword. Their movements were practically perfectly intertwined. Reshvul had years of training and experience, Oliver had brutally long hours of training and the advantage of a spare blade.

Naturally the idea that fighting with two swords was someone superior was generally considered a myth, and Oliver's style reflected that. Using a single blade for most of his attacks and thrusts, however the second was used as a shield. Blocking, and sometimes striking when the foe was distracted.

All in all he was rather good, but so was his foe. And in a fight like this a single nick would be the end of it. Poison barbed spines threatening him with slashes so close they sent tufts of hair falling to the ground.

Jonathan heard a satisfying thud from above as what he guessed that one of the slitherskins managed to fall on top of the needles and was severly injured if not outright dead form the needles. However a lack of thud from the other one told him that the other creatue had not collided with the little trap he had set up for him. Quickly gathering some of the shadow from the surronding walls he formed another ball which was about the size of the previos cannonballs ready to crush the creature as it came around the back.

As the creature jumped behind him he would find Jonathan standing there with quite a large smiling at the creature. "Nice try, but I already thought of that." He quickly thrusted his hands forward and the cannonball went flying towards the creature. Hopefully it would end up crushing it and killing the last one so he could rescue the person and stop the damned ritual. However he knew that he couldn't go ahead without at least making sure that the creature was dead so as he began to move down the staircase he watched carefully to see the after effect of his attack against the slitherskin.
