Yeah, you can't help but stare at the machine gun that suddenly appeared out of nowhere in her hands. Considering the fact that you could barely even own a gun in this country, let alone swing around one. Yeah, he's not gonna be asking her anything. Who's he to say anything, the WDA's got an entire basement of weaponry. So... yeah. "I don't think we'll be needing that though..." He said, pointing at the hand-held M2 Browning in her hands. Okay... let's get down. However they're supposed to do that. He drew from his bag a bundle of rope that he hoped would be long enough to reach the bottom of the giant well. maybe. What else should he do, sit here and stare into the hole and wait for something to happen? That actually sounded like a plausible thing to do. Nah, he went down anyway. It was actually surprising how little time it took for him to reach the bottom, despite how deep it seemed in the first place. It was certainly deep though, the light coming from the opening barely even look like a little dot of light. The only reason he could even see right now was because of the flashlight he got out from his bag. Of course, the enhanced vision thanks to the metavirus in his head helped. A bit. The gigantic hole led to a number of smaller branches of caves, each of them looking about as dark and as ominous as the toilet in his neighbor's room. "So uh... what do you reckon?" He said, pausing for a bit as he lighted each of the smaller caves with his flashlight, each of them being big enough for only one person to enter one at a time. |

'Voices? Nah...couldn't be...' Just the same, Shad Hornswell kept close to the smooth surface of the small cavern wall. His left foot repeatedly screamed out in pain as he dragged it, yet at least it told him that he was still alive to feel stinging. He had already pocketed the broken rope in his robes, dismayed at how easily it broke so close to the bottom. Needless to say, he twisted his ankle on landing, yet this basically occurred about a hour and a half ago and he felt a bit lost wandering around in the dark. To put it mildly, he was on the hunt for any kind of rumor that could get him info on incidents of disappearances, like the vanishing buildings all over town and new ones popping up. Either way, he had made his choice to climb up all the way to the summit with his regular gear and was now paying for it with a swollen ankle. 'Should've brought a ice pack.' He gritted his teeth in thought, regretting his choice to check out the rumor about the mountain 'vanishing' anyone who came this close. Oh, well...he'll dwell on it later once he found some evidence of if the disappearances were connected or not. Come to think of it, he only went down the massive hole on a whim, but the foundation around the cavern seemed a bit, how you say, 'smooth'. Like sandpaper with no jagged edges. Definitely not the work of a geomancer, but he couldn't help but be drawn to the smaller tunnels as he searched for a way out. And yes, it was dark, but if the individual tunnel itself that he was slowly shuffling through was a straight path, he could always go back the way he came and feel around for handholds. One step...two step...owch...slowly moving through the cave branch with medium footfalls. Might as well be quiet in case whatever made the large hole was still around. "You know what they say; Better to have and not need, than to need and not have." Which did raise a good point, especially since it took a moment to summon the weapon, and if there was a monster down there, that moment could be fatal for her... So, better to have it now and be ready rather than not... Speaking of being ready... "Land Striker: Equip!" While speaking wasn't necessary, more Rule of Cool, the effect was immediate; A different Striker Unit, this time looking similar to the hull of the M4 Sherman tank, appeared. Though, just like the Propeller Striker, it did cause her skirt to vanish again, and as before, a football pitch-sized magical circle appeared beneath her as the magical engines started up. "It looks like a burrower-type thing, or a mess of 'em. These caves aren't naturally formed... Too smooth for that." Keeping the Browning held in one hand, but finger away from the trigger, Lucy was more tense than she was showing... There was a high probability of whatever it was, still being around... And of it maybe being huge, or a mess of tiny things... Which was a less-than-wonderful concept, given the girl's experience against Neuroi wasn't as useful against less alien things... However, a sound further down the tunnel made her start... And mentally curse the lack of a Night Witch's power, like Sanya had... "There's something up ahead... I'm gonna give it a warning shot... Too bad I don't have any tracer rounds though..." Raising the Browning to shoulder-height, Lucy aimed down the middle of the tunnel ahead of herself and Seth, before firing a single magical bullet down the tunnel... Not knowing that it was a person down there... Fortunately, the bullet would miss, narrowly... Because Shad was leaning more against the side of the wall than walking down the middle of the narrow passage. "That's your only warning! Identify yourself and move towards the light with your hands where we can see them. Failure to comply, or making any sudden movements will result in a lot more bullets headed at you." |

(OOC: Sorry, didn't know when you were posting...and off to bed...) "Gah! Thanks for the warning, sheesh!" Shad bellowed back, somewhat surprised and a bit annoyed with whoever was shooting live ammo down into where he was exploring. With both hands raised up over his head, and his eyes squinting, he slowly made his way over to wherever the light was shining. "I come unarmed, please refrain from peppering me with those bullets." He partially lied, but essentially, the enlargement magic on the ring on his index finger would take a few seconds, in which this unknown girl could blast his body full of holes. |

"...WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HIM!" All he could do was gape between Lucy and the short person with the tall hat in shock, completely flabbergasted by the fact that she had let go of shots without even considering the fact that it might actually hit him. Oh wait, that's Shad, right? Yeah, it's Shad. "Waitwait..." He said, rubbing his temple in exasperation. "First order of business... what the heck are you doing down here in the first place?" Yea, Seth was here in the first place to investigate the disappearing of people who had come here and maybe capture the culprit and allied himself with Lucy along the way and for some convenient reason they found Shad here suspiciously walking about the very scene of the crime. |

"That is true, that came awfully close to hitting me in these narrow corridors." Shad said in a reasonable, yet glum fashion. In fact, his oversized hat currently had a hole in it from where the bullet went through. Adjusting to the light, he could make out two figures. One of which was very familiar to him, in a shuddering sort-of way considering their last encounter. "Ah, Rouga-senpai. Pleased to see you here. Oh? Why am I here?" He pondered this for a few seconds, scratching his head, then answered, "Well, in a way, I'm just doing some investigation work on the side considering that I have some free time with no classes going on. People just disappearing sounds like either a powerful monster took them, or something like black magic is occurring. Either way, I'm just here to take a look around and report my findings to Hiro-sensei." "Also, I attempted to climb down this hole that wasn't here before but the rope snapped and I ended up twisting my ankle. Nothing serious, thankfully, but I basically didn't plan for the cavern to be so dark when I explored the tunnel behind me." He said honestly, hoping Seth will not interfere with his work. After all, Shad had a brief theory of why people were disappearing. |

"Point; I provided a warning shot, when I did not need to give one. Further point; We could not see that it was a person given how far away they were, it could have been some gribbly horror." Most firearms would have dropped a spend brass cartridge to the floor, unless it was caseless ammo, a revolver, or had a cartridge catcher equipped. Lucy's M2 was none of the above, nor had a catcher fitted... But no brass casing hit the rock floor, owing to the fact that the "ammo" was Lucy's own magical power... Raising the weapon to point upwards, she glared over at Seth and Shad. "And another thing, I have an even bigger weapon with explosive shells. however, that would only serve to potentially collapse the entire cave system on us. So be glad I wanted rate of fire over damage potential." With the Land Striker on her legs, Lucy couldn't bend her knees, but instead of walking, the Striker "skated" the ground for ease of movement. Stopping in front of Shad, she reached forwards with her free hand to rest it on his shoulder. "If I were you, I'd stay out of our way, and get off your foot. Loosen your shoe if you have to, but don't take it off. You remove it and your ankle swells, you won't fit your shoe back on until you do." Survival tip there, very useful for twisted and sprained limbs... However, there wasn't an apology for nearly shooting the guy... After all, a Combat Pragmatist really didn't need to give a warning shot... It was usually "Shoot first, ask questions later", though since she was used to fighting giant aliens with omnicidal tendencies, it was more than a little ingrained to shoot first, and then NOT ask questions. |

"Thanks for the tip, I suppose." Shad was already bending down to loosen up the flesh-made shoe, made from leathering a enlarged piece of human skin. Already, the pain was slowly beginning to subside. "Ah, good. It'd usually take half a day to heal something like this, but you've shown me a better way." He said in a grateful manner, even though his facial expression was blank. "In any case, I wasn't planning to be in the way of anyone. Mainly since I didn't know anyone else would come down here, so if you guys want to go ahead, that's fine." Shad shrugged, not too bothered by the demands this odd woman was speaking. Of course, had he noticed the land striker she had available, his irrational fear of machinery would cause him to get sick internally. "However, is it okay if I take a look at one of those shells? My magic is designed to enlarge non-organic items, so it might increase the power of a bullet just before it hits the target." |

Yea... whatever, he's not argue with the cute girl with the big gun. "Right... now, Shad if you don't mind, could you please stay away from this place? We're doing an official investigation on the trouble brewing around this place. You can get back up from where we got down," He said, pointing to the rope they had tethered to a tree waaay up there. "Now, excuse me," Without further ado the boy made his way into one of the dark channel, his flashlight lighting the way. Edited by Fin, Jan 7 2012, 07:59 PM.

'Right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot, and PUSH.' He thought to himself as he climbed the face of Mt. Hyakuji. As he scanned for his next hand and foot holds he noticed that the mountain finally ended only a few more yards up. He was just feet away from the summit when hid foot hold Crumbled, as adrenaline pumped into his veins time seemed to slow down. His human hands turned into Large Fur covered claws and his muscles multiplied. and in that same split second he dug his claws into the mountains side and caught himself. Using his in human strength he dug in and lept6 the last feet feet and alighted on the edge of the cliff. "Blast, nearly made it half way with out transforming." He said to himself. He closed his eyes focused on his breathing and as soon as his Heart was done trying to break out of his ribs he felt his body shrink back into his human form, which stood a little over six feet tall with long blonde hair, broad shoulders. He wore a dark green long sleeved shirt that really brought out his physique, as well as a brown leather vest, and khaki jeans, clothes he was still getting use to after having worn over 50 pounds of steel armor. Danny looked around around and noticed a hole easily as big as a full grown dragon dug into the solid stone. He walked over to it and looked down, and saw that it was easily as deep as it was wide. 'Now that would be fun to explore,' he thought to himself 'If only i had a rope... Ah.' It was then that he noticed the rope tied to a sapling at the edge of the hole. It meant the others had been here so i could mean they where still down there. More and more curious Dan finally decided he just had to check this out. So he went over to the rope and lowered himself down. And like the others before him he noticed there where multiple caves to choose from. He was about to pick one at random when he heard a gun shot echo through one cavern and he sore he could see some light. Frustrated at the stupidity he decided to go down the cave and figure out who was stupid enough to shot a gun in a cave. and just in case the idiot thought he was some sort of threat he called out. "Oi! Who the bloody hell is firing off rounds in a cave? Do you LIKE set off cave ins?" Danny had a rather thick British accent. |
