[Frostfire Building, Penthouse Suite, an hour ago...] For the entirety of the day, and the better part of yesterday, Selene had been spending much time at the Frostfire building as the corporate heiress personally oversaw the preparations for a special occasion that came once every year, directing the workers as they began putting the finishing touches to the Christmas decorations on the penthouse suite located on the rooftop of the Frostfire building. The corporate heiress gestured towards a nearby worker to shift one of the decorations slightly, nodding in affirmation that said decoration was moved to the desired position, herself pausing to adjust one of the (fake) candy cane decorations that had gone slightly askew. The corporate heiress sighed slightly as she realized that of the group of friends who addressed themselves as The Musketeers, Seth wouldn't be attending the upcoming celebration, instead opting to attend the party Jameson and Oliver would be hosting. Regardless, Selene had sent the message along with all the relevant details on timing and location to her friends - they were cordially invited, and they were free to invite their own friends along as well! "Frostfire-sama," Selene turned her attention towards the business suited Frostfire Industries executive at the entrance as the man bowed formally, before presenting the corporate heiress with a square-shaped parcel in brown paper. "The package you requested has arrived, right on time," the executive said as the corporate heiress took the package from the man, nodding to him as a gesture to dismiss him, before setting the package down on a nearby table, peeling off the wrapping to open the white cardboard box underneath, squinting at the white light that shone from within, revealing a beautifully-made star-shaped ornament that sparkled curiously under its own power. "Just what we needed!" Selene exclaimed happily as she went over to the Christmas tree at a corner of the living room next to the home entertainment system as a worker readied a ladder for the corporate heiress, who quickly climbed up to mount the star on top of the Christmas tree, adjusting it to ensure it fit properly, before hopping off the ladder to examine her handiwork. "Sugoi..." the corporate heiress clasped her hands close to her chest, her eyes sparkling with amazement at the sight of the now-complete Christmas tree. "All right! Nice work everyone! It wouldn't have been possible without all of you, and for that, thank you!" the corporate heiress clapped briefly as she addressed the workers who'd helped out with setting up the decorations. "In addition, all of you have earned yourselves a day off for your contributions... HR has been duly informed - and on top of that give yourselves all a pat on the back for a job well done!" Selene praised the crew before sending them off. Now all she had to do was wait...
"Wow... it clearly looks bigger up close than one would imagine..." Yuki gasped as she looked up with her right hand shading her brow, trying to gaze at the top of the Frostfire building. At least, Selene had said in her messages to Jonny and herself that this would be the venue, and had reassured them that security would recognize them and escort them to the penthouse suite. The pink-haired girl was wearing an outfit that she'd gotten while doing festive shopping with her friends the week before - a baby blue knee-length dress with white fur trim and white frost pattern embroidery, along with a pair of matching arm sleeves and white snow boots, and accessorized by a bright red hairband with holly leaf decorations; and for warmth the girl had on a long fuzzy scarf and mitts that matches her dress. As soon as she glanced towards the main entrance of the building however, the pink-haired girl skidded to a nervous halt. For all its luxurious beauty - even more so with all the Christmas decorations - the Frostfire building held a certain sense of foreboding; it might be the perpetual presence of security personnel - uniformed rent-a-cops, along with the occasional Matrix-esque guy in business suits and sunglasses. Or maybe it was the fact that everything inside the building just looked so... expensive, and that filled the none-too-graceful Yuki with the unfounded worry that she could get hauled off to the nearest police station as soon as she broke something. "Come on, Yuki... you're just scaring yourself!" Yuki thought as she took a deep breath and thumped her fist lightly on her chest twice before taking a few steps towards the main entrance, only to have one of the men in business suits look in her direction, causing the pink-haired girl to freeze, before she glanced around with a nervous chuckle, hoping that Jonny, or some others would be around so she didn't have to approach the "Matrix Agent" by herself. |

What could arguably be called the biggest day of the year, regardless of whether one was religious or not, was fast approaching. It was a time when people were remembered, gifts were exchanged, and a vast portion of the world, in spite of otherwise cynical natures, would look to the future with spirits high. It had evolved beyond being either a religious or a commerical holiday... it was a whole other type in and of itself. Unfortunately, such a wonderous fact did little to save Jonny from the sheer amount of time, effort, and funding, that he would have to put into it. Though arguably, that was more his own fault, and his desire to make sure those he knew had it good, than anything of the holiday itself being forced upon him. "Wow... it clearly looks bigger up close than one would imagine..." It was for that reason, as he approached the large building that was Frostfire Industries' headquarters within Hyakuji (and much of Japan), he had in hand what was effectively a santa-style sack over his shoulder. To complete the image, and knowing that much of it consisted of the red that was now almost iconic to him, he had come dressed up as old Kris Kringle himself, minus the beard, and a gut brought on by so many mince pies. Ironic, that such a food often eaten festively, would technically be illegal to be eaten on the big day itself, at least until a change in the law a few years ago. It was amongst various, odd little things that had remained out of both tradition, and the fact that they were so silly few ever brought them up. Then again, who expected the idea of putting the Queen's stamp upside down on a letter, to be considered treason? But all that aside, as it typically was, the Frostfire building was quite tall, imposing, and frankly, ominous as it towered above the city. That the men guarding it seemed more at home guarding the president of the United States, than guarding an industrial building, probably helped the image. And indeed, it seemed to have worked wonders on his friend, who had all but frozen stiff, as a result of one quick glance by the security detail, as opposed to the cold weather. A warm smile on his face, the British born lad trod his way towards the girl, before giving a light pat on the shoulder to signal his arrival. "Hey, Yuki." It was a short hello, but he had prepared it to be such just in case Yuki's reaction prevented him from having anything too long. Once things were settled, he glanced back at the front entrance to the Frostfire building, and after doing so a few moments, he gave a cheery grin back to the pink haired spirit seeing maiden. "C'mon. I'm sure Selene told these guys we were coming. Just... make sure you've got some ID." He supposed that, unless the men had pictures to reference, Selene could probably only describe them vaguely (aside from Yuki's hair). In which case, they'd just have to prove who they were. Drawing on his old bus card from back home, Jonny walked forward towards the guards. If they let him in, he'd walk right on through towards the elevators, knowing that they were expected at the penthouse. If not, then he'd try to get things cleared up as fast as possible. |

Yuki gasped as she felt a hand tap on her shoulder, for a moment the pink-haired girl was expecting to find a security guard glaring at her when she spun around and giving her a stern warning not to loiter on the building grounds. But she quickly felt at ease as soon as she heard the voice that came along with the pat on her shoulder. "Hey, Yuki." The pink-haired girl's eyes widened as she stole a glance over her shoulder, before spinning around altogether with an excited squeal. "Jonny-kun! I'm SO happy you're here!" Yuki exclaimed happily as she threw her arms around Jonny, before taking a step back to take a look at her friend, tapping her chin thoughtfully with her right index finger. She'd known that Jonny had a fondness for red, but to come dressed as Santa Claus himself, the pink-haired girl couldn't have thought of a more season-appropriate getup that Jonny could come to this party in, and it even came complete with him carrying a sack! Which made Yuki wonder as a stray thought; did Santa Claus look this good when he was a boy? Giggling to herself briefly, the pink-haired girl reassured herself that there was nothing to fear - this is Selene's 'base' afterall, and the people guarding it ultimately had to answer to her friend. "C'mon. I'm sure Selene told these guys we were coming. Just... make sure you've got some ID." Yuki nodded to Jonny's statement as she followed the Briton as they passed through the main entrance and into the Frostfire Building's atrium - which was considered a public area, and as such the two of them simply walked right past the guard without the man ever bothering them. The atrium of the building was akin to a small shopping mall, with various units that housed services such as cafes, shops and such - although understandably most of said businesses were closed for the holidays. The mechanized shutters of the glazed rooftop were closed, leaving the atrium illuminated by artificial means, and most of the lights were purposefully dimmed for the purposes of creating a more festive atmosphere, to draw attention to the Christmas decorations - little twinkling lights, bells, ribbons and holly wreaths. "Beautiful... Selene-san's building certainly looks much more welcoming on the inside," Yuki commented, with her hands clasped together as she looked to the ceiling, at the decorations of fairies and stars - and the main attraction of all - a life-sized model of Santa and an elf helper on his reindeer-driven sleigh, suspended from the rooftop by numerous carbon nanotubes that, coupled with the dim lighting and their thinness appeared all but invisible when viewed from below, giving the near-perfect illusion that said decorations were floating in midair. Beyond the atrium was another entrance that led to the main lobby of the business tower proper, although unlike normal days where the security would be busy screening a never-ending stream of employees and tenants that go in and out, the reception counter was closed, and the rent-a-cops at the security station were having their own little holiday celebration with coffee and homemade bento, although they quickly became vigilant as soon as Jonny and Yuki stepped into the lobby. The security guards nodded as Jonny showed them his old bus ID, and following Jonny's example Yuki quickly showed the security guards her Hyakuji High student ID. "Desmond, Jonny and Tsukiyoru Yuki..." the security guard at a laptop said as he did a search for the names, quickly coming up with a positive match. "Frostfire-sama is expecting you, please take the express elevator to the top floor and proceed to the penthouse suite," the guard smiled at the two of them as he gestured to the far end of the lobby, where an express elevator was ready and waiting... (Skipping past the elevator ride) A blast of cold air would hit Jonny and Yuki once more as they were momentarily exposed to the outdoors as at the end of the elevator ride they would be led up a short flight of stairs to the roof of the Frostfire building, stepping into the landscaped courtyard of the penthouse level. With a series of buzzing noises as remote control systems kicked in, the decorations and lighting came alive, starting from the exit, then finally lighting up the main entrance to the penthouse, where Selene stood waiting, dressed in a pink blouse with white frilly accents and a red plaid skirt, pink and white candy-striped stockings and red dress boots, a light apricot-colored scarf and a ribbon adorned her hair, which matches her skirt nicely. (reference) "Yuki-chan! Jonny!" Selene smiled and waved at her two good friends. "I'm SO happy you all made it! And just in time too!" the corporate heiress commented as she ran over to squeeze herself between Jonny and Yuki to put her arms around their shoulders, gesturing towards the penthouse. "Let's go, the party's just getting started!" Edited by Lawman, Dec 20 2011, 05:38 AM.

Jonny could guess for a variety of reasons why shops would exist within what was already the industrial centre of a large franchise - sheer ease of access. Like this, they didn't need to have workers leaving the premises, to get supplies - or their lunch. It also allowed visitors to get a taste of the products that the company had at its disposal, without the little inconvenience of comptetitors to be in the way - and of course, the price was at its cheapest here. They weren't some store that would need to charge more in order to cover the cost of the product from the supplier, and still have to maintain a profit. It was quite a clever - if not sneaky - thing to do, but he supposed it was just good business planning at work. He could name a few other companies that did the same thing. "Beautiful... Selene-san's building certainly looks much more welcoming on the inside," Yuki summarised how friendly and warm the interior of the building currently felt, with the 'christmas cheer' dial having apparently been turned all the way up to eleven. They even had 'Santa' flying through on his sleigh - at least if time had suddenly stopped for him, anyway. It was pretty impressive though, given the effect of the dimmed lighting - one couldn't even really see whatever wiring had to holding that in place. Then again, who knew, perhaps Selene had contacted someone to pull of an anti-gravity spell or something? If such a spell existed, anyway. Getting past security was easy, and harmless enough, with a quick flash of IDs by both parties. Once it was confirmed who they were, the two made their way to the 'express elevator', which presumably was reserved for only a select few. It reminded him of just how 'big' their friend effectively was, in terms of social class, as he stepped on in. Yuki was beside him as the doors closed, and the metal box soon rose upwards, a small amount of pressure upon them as it sped its way up the side of the building. The view one got as they rose higher and higher, looking out over the city, was breath taking to say the least. He had only climbed a few of the tall buildings that made up the city's skyline, but he had to admit, even fewer approached the sheer height of this one. It was thus only to be expected, with such height and such a time of the year involved, that once the elevator doors opened, they would be hit by a wave of cold. Jonny thanked himself that, aside from getting quite the wooly Santa outfit, he had made the move to dress in layers for the day. He could only pray that Yuki, with her dress, would actually manage in the cold. On the other hand, he could likely make similar prayers for Selene, given that she too was wearing something other than trousers, in spite of the cold. Not that he was complaining on the actual appearance - hardly the case at all - merely the practicality of it. He wouldn't want her getting frostbite on a day of celebration, after all. "Yuki-chan! Jonny!" The corporate heiress had spotted them - and given their respective appearances, how could she not? - and waved at them from her position in front of the penthouse. "I'm SO happy you all made it! And just in time too!" The girl then ran over to them, and with no resistance from the boy speedster, he and Yuki soon had their shoulders embraced by their friends grip. "Glad to be here." Jonny laughed, the christmas cheer having gotten quite infectious over the last few moments. "Let's go, the party's just getting started!" Selene directed them in the direction of the penthouse, and Jonny was more than happy to oblige her command. He stepped forward, sack still over his shoulder, black boots moving one after the other in order to progress towards the immensely decorated entrance. "I suppose you've kept yourself busy whilst waiting for us?" He gestured towards the various ornaments on display, which marked rather how seriously Selene took the holiday season. He'd probably be satisfied if he got a single string of lights and various bits of foil lining the walls. This probably took the cake for 'most over the top decorations of the year'. "I assume the plan, whatever it is, involves us having a good time?" He asked, though hopefully, the answer should have been obvious. Christmas wasn't a time for dragging one's feet, as opposed to smiling and basking in the joys of life. It was a time when people grew closer together, under the warmth of the season... |

"Gomen'nasai, I hope I'm not too late to join the party." Arriving a few minutes after Johnny, was Mariko. Rather than her usual outfit, the red-haired girl was wearing a halterneck top in a rich crimson and black jeans, topped with a broad, ribbon-like scarf in a white-ish blue, her usual green-brown coat and her usual black boots. "Thank you for inviting me, Johnny-kun... I've never been to a Christmas party before, so this makes a nice change." Smiling softly, the girl was genuinely happy and smiling... Usually, her extrovert mask was shinning through, while her real "introvert" personality was hidden. However, in this case, both personalities were sort of fused, meaning that while she was still acting extroverted, her happiness and such, were the real deal. She did notice, however, that she hadn't introduced herself to Yuki or Selene... Something, she needed to rectify... "Where are my manners? Atashi wa Ameterasu Mariko Akane, desu." Bowing as she spoke to introduce herself, Mariko hoped that the other girls wouldn't probe too deeply how she knew Johnny... |

"Glad to be here." Jonny laughed in response as he and Yuki received a warm reception from the corporate heiress. "I suppose you've kept yourself busy whilst waiting for us?" he asked as he took note of all the Christmas lights and decorations, as Selene beamed proudly at her handiwork. It was something that came only once every year, and as such the corporate heiress had made sure that she did a good job setting everything up for the festivities. "That's simply marvelous! Selene-san, did you do everything by yourself? It must've taken you the whole day to put all that up!" Yuki marveled as she picked up a glowing candy cane decoration - looked almost like the real thing, except instead of sugar and peppermint it was plastic and LEDs, fiddling slightly with it before putting it back where it was. "Well, not everything, of course!" Selene chuckled as she got behind Jonny and Yuki to usher them to the penthouse - if they continued to stand in the middle of the courtyard like that, except for Jonny, the corporate heiress was certain that she and Yuki were going to end up with frostbite. "I planned out all the decorations... like what thing goes where. But all of these wouldn't have been possible without some helping hands." Which was true, considering all the heavy-lifting that had to be done, as well as some of the decorations that were set up in decidedly hard to reach areas. "I assume the plan, whatever it is, involves us having a good time?" Jonny asked. "Right you are, Jonny!" Selene added enthusiastically as she gave Yuki and Jonny another hearty at on the backs. "But first things first, let's get indoors, where the comforts of a controlled climate await us!" the corporate heiress continued as she took her two good friends hand-in-hand, such that she held Yuki's hand in one of her hands and Jonny's in another of her own and swung hand-in-hand slightly before heading over to the front, and gesturing towards the main entrance to the penthouse suite, with a snowman standing next to it, clad in a Santa hat and with a red and white striped scarf around its "neck". "Thank you for inviting me, Johnny-kun... I've never been to a Christmas party before, so this makes a nice change." Selene turned around at the sound of another girl's voice, to find a brown-haired girl in a green-brown coat and crimson-black jeans having joined them on the rooftop. "Where are my manners? Atashi wa Ameterasu Mariko Akane, desu." Almost forgetting her manners, the girl whom Jonny invited was quick to introduce herself, bowing as she did so. "You were invited by Jonny-kun? Then you must be awesome!" Yuki merrily chimed in as she bowed to Mariko. "Atashi wa Tsukiyoru Yuki; nice to meet you, Mariko-san!" the pink-haired girl said as she straightened up, looking at Mariko with excited emerald eyes. So Jonny had sent invitations out, and there are those who responded to them. Part of Yuki's excitement was the prospect of making a new friend, as well as hoping that at least one of the invitations she sent out would be received, and the prospect of getting Selene and Jonny to make some more new friends as well. "The name's Selene Frostfire, it's an honour being acquainted with you, Mariko-chan," the corporate heiress smiled as she curtsied to the brown-haired girl. "Come on, let's get to the comfort of indoors, shall we?" Selene asked as she stopped outside the main entrance to the penthouse suite, gesturing towards the doors with a smile. It was good to see other guests apart from just herself, Jonny and Yuki. And with luck, Selene thought, perhaps the invitations that she and Yuki sent out would be received... |

Thianbang had flown to the building and knock at the door, before being usher to the party room. Once she enters the room, she saw her good old friend. "Selene-Sama~" She called out to the organizer of the Christmas party, "It's nice of you to invite me over!" before jumping towards her good friend with a hearty hug, and then giving her a lick on her left cheek. "It’s nice to be here." Then she notices the other people around. " Hi, I am SiongKoan ThianBang, but you can call me either ThianBang Chan or Yume-Chan." She introduces herself to Selene's friends, " Come to think about it, a lot of us are called Yume-Chan~ " She commented, as she remember the other dream, who also happens to be Selene's friend. Noticing that Zhimeng was no where to be found, she asked her old friend, "Hey! Chitbang-Chan is not here, that's strange, I thought she always loves parties? Is she going to be late or something?" |

He supposed it was a bit much to expect, even from Selene, that the corporate heiress had put up every single decoration singlehandedly. Whilst Jonny knew her to have superhuman allies, his friend herself actually lacked such abilities beyond summoning magic, and potentially some kind of barrier, as far as he was aware. In hindsight, he was uncertain of the woman he had seen that day being his friend, as much as his memory might tell him that the features were indistinguishable. It was just something about the thought of that person... which remained unclear, strange as it might seem. And, he supposed, it was hard to see the girl who stood beside him as being the very same who had ultimately fought demons alongside him, even if it was solely practice. Though, Selene did at least seem to have the potential... so perhaps he shouldn't rule it out entirely just yet. If only he could get his mind clear on the subject. First things first though - if they were to enjoy tonight's celebrations, then they had indeed best get inside, as opposed to standing in the cold all wintry day. He had heard such weather had been relatively uncommon back home, save the most mountainous of regions, so whilst he would try his best to appreciate it, it felt better to do so from afar. Even as the fastest boy alive, he couldn't really outrun frostbite once it set in. His hand held by Selene's, the trio of friends made their way towards the door, where a snowman seemed to be somewhat similarly dressed to Jonny himself. He laughed a little on seeing it, and a small part of him hoped that it would remain cold enough that the sculpture of snow could remain for quite a while after its construction. It seemed like quite a nice addition here. "Gomen'nasai, I hope I'm not too late to join the party." The British born lad turned his head, and broke out into an even wider smile, as he realised who had arrived. "So you got my message after all." He gave a cheerful grin towards Mariko, the secret identity of the (currently out of service) warrior known as Sailor Sol. It was certainly a marked difference from the previous times he had seen her, but he would hardly say she was worse for it. If anything, the outfit rather suited her - and at the very least, with the red and green, it fit the season. "Thank you for inviting me, Johnny-kun... I've never been to a Christmas party before, so this makes a nice change." Her happiness at having been invited to the event was obvious, and the boy was left to rub the back of his neck as he continued his smile in turn. "Its no problem at all Mariko. If anything, thank our host for being so welcoming." He gestured briefly to Selene, knowing that whilst the corporate heiress could have easily kept it so that only those she knew personally got in, she had allowed it so Yuki and Jonny had the equal opportunity of inviting those they knew. And considering all that Mariko had gone through, it made sense to Jonny that she might need the holiday cheer to, well, cheer up. If anything, that smile of hers had confirmed that Jonny had made the right choice. She deserved something good after all that stuff involving the Yoma - so it was only Just that he should give her a chance to enjoy herself. "Where are my manners? Atashi wa Ameterasu Mariko Akane, desu." It seemed Mariko had caught Jonny's drift, quickly introducing herself to the other two. Yuki was in turn equally quick to show how thrilled she was to meet Mariko, a couple of bows being exchanged alongside the names. "You were invited by Jonny-kun? Then you must be awesome! Atashi wa Tsukiyoru Yuki; nice to meet you, Mariko-san!" He wondered how Yuki determined the notion that someone was invited by him, to mean that they had to be awesome. However, the girl's summary was indeed quite accurate, though it was probably one she did not realise. After all, as a superheroine, Mariko was indeed quite awesome, having faced foes and menaces to people everywhere. He doubted however that, given what she had gone through in one of the previous cases someone found out who she was, that the girl would appreciate him spreading the news of her dual life. So for now, it was to be their little secret. "The name's Selene Frostfire, it's an honour being acquainted with you, Mariko-chan," The corporate heiress also introduced herself to Mariko, managing to curtsey, even with her skirt length being what it was. "Come on, let's get to the comfort of indoors, shall we?" She then asked, to which Jonny nodded. He took the first step inside, and the sight of the tree was, quite frankly, breath taking. "Geez... I mean, my family had more than enough space back home, and I don't think we ever managed to get one quite that impressive." He said with some small cheer as he placed down the sack that had been slung over his back. The rope that held it shut was loose at best, meant solely to keep everything from falling out, than it was to keep anything hidden. Thus, the presents inside, were easily hinted at through the open hole. But such a thought momentarily took a backseat in Jonny's mind, as another guest turned up. One that seemed perhaps a bit too friendly with Selene. "It's nice to be here." The girl commented, having licked Selene's cheek, to which Jonny had almost immediately appeared behind her - a convenience of super speed. "It might also be nice if you gave her some personal space." He said, giving a small tug to indicate the girl should let go. Otherwise, she was just being rude with regards to Selene's privacy. "Though, I suppose its... interesting to meet you, ThianBang. I'm Jonny Desmond - guess we both know Selene." Not truly asking for verification on the fact, Jonny moved back to his bag of presents, and began to shuffle through its contents. The first boxes to emerge were three in number, and of varying sizes. The largest had Yuki's name on it, and easily measured a full quarter of the average person's height, wrapped in rather christmasy paper - christmas trees and reindeer abound on the surface. The second, was about the size of a typical lunchbox, though the weight made it seem quite heavier than simply a pre-packed meal. The name on it was Mariko's, the wrapping with a theme of the sun breaking a cloudy snow storm. It was something of a small joke, but he hoped she'd take no offense. The last gift, and quite frankly the tiniest, being no bigger than a small brick, was carefully extracted and handled with great care. He rested in his hands, the silver tinted wrapping reflecting the various bits of light that shone upon it. He read Selene's name on the label, before smiling to himself. "Hey guys." He said, looking towards the particular three. "Come and get your presents. Feel free to open them, even if its a bit early." However, he briefly recounted those presents, and extracted a fourth present. No label, and the wrapping was the image of a wreath repeated over and over again. The round nature of the object, and the way it rattled with the sound of wrappers with every movement, made it quite clear what was inside. "Always pack a spare present, is what my Dad used to tell me." He said, as he held out the object towards ThianBang. |

"The pleasure is all mine, Yuki-san, Selene-chan..." Cocking her head to one side as she smiled, was one of Mariko's little quirks, one that showed genuine happiness. Meeting new people and making new friends was always good, especially as she had few friends in Hyakuji... "Awesome? Me? Er... I suppose that was one way to put it, not sure how accurate it is now though." Skirting the "awesome" issue, since that was more for her (currently lost) alternative form as Sailor Sol than herself, Mariko was slightly lost for words, until Selene ushered the small group inside. Like Johnny, the first thing that the red-haired girl saw, was the tree... Which was incredible and beautiful... "Oh, my... The tree is so... So beautiful..." The sparkling decorations that caught the light, were shining like diamonds... Diamonds of light, that paled in comparison to the star on top of the tree... The teen's reverie was broken, however, by ThianBang's arrival... Turning to face the newcomer, while shrugging her coat off, Mariko bowed slightly and introduced herself. "I'm Mariko Akane Ameterasu, it's a pleasure, ThianBang-san." Though, just as she had finished hanging her coat on her arm, Johnny provided a distraction with presents... Including one for her. Accepting the gift with a happy nod, she did crack a smirk at the wrapping paper... It was... Apt... In a sort of ironic way, given both her name and who her alter-ego had been. "Arigatō, Johnny-kun." For a moment, she was wondering if she could open it, but Johnny okayed it before she could ask... So, she did just that... Revealing two bracelets with a sun-theme and a rather extensive makeup kit... "Kore wa...?" For a moment, she was shocked and stunned... Makeup? Her? She had no need for it... That said, now she was getting friends of the female persuasion, she would find a need for it more... And it would help cover up any bruises she got too, so that other people wouldn't need to worry as much about her... As to the bracelets...? A few tears welled up and rolled down her cheeks as Mariko recognised the link to Sol that they represented... She wasn't Sol anymore, but she had been... Like Johnny, she had hopes that her power-loss was only temporary, that she would always be who she was... Those bracelets were a link to that past, and also a hope for the future, that she would be who she was... "Dōmo arigatō gozaimasu..." It was obvious her tears were less sadness, given the faint smile, and more of gratitude... |

Dangerously Cheesy.

Yuki's legs, although partially covered by some taller boots, could not have appreciated the warmth of the penthouse more than they did right then as a tingling feeling was slowly washing over them. She still wasn't sure how she survived the walk to the Frostfire building in the first place, until she remembered she'd been on one of the subway trains the majority of the time and lingered in the underground station until she figured out exactly where on her phone's map she would be going. At least she felt super cute in her new Christmas dress, and if that meant her legs momentarily going numb, so be it. That being said, she pulled off the boots and set them by the door, not wanting to track water everywhere from the melted snow, then extracting her fuzzy slippers she'd kept in her purse and putting them on. It was already turning out to be a fantastic party, making new friends before she'd hardly gotten in through the entryway. Yuki had been eyeballing the sack Jonny was carrying, which was none too small, and bit her tongue in excited anticipation as he set it on the ground. Before getting to that, however, she had one more person to introduce herself to. "It's nice to meet you, Tingban...Tanbiong..." she fumbled with the name under her breath a few times before surrendering to the easiest of the variations, "Yume-chan!" She might have met her a long time ago during the previous school year, but there were so many people in Hyakuji that unless she met them on a regular basis, she sometimes had a hard time keeping track. Nonetheless, she was happy to meet her as was apparent by the enthusiastic-yet-polite bow. "Come and get your presents. Feel free to open them, even if its a bit early." Yuki's ears perked up like those of a dog who'd just heard the word "treat" or "walk." She did make an attempt, however, to contain herself from snatching her present in a fit of over-excitement like that of someone in elementary school. Nonetheless, the girl plopped down on the floor and let the faux-fur-lined hem of her powder blue dress float down around her (if nothing else, it was keeping her legs warm). Her face lit up with a hard-to-suppress smile as she slid the giant box with her name on it toward herself. Yuki watched Mariko open her present with a rather...emotional reaction, and figured either she'd never received a present before, or this one held some sort of strong importance. The whole sun motif was interesting, given the fact that it really had nothing to do with Christmas (either religiously or commercially). It did seem to be something she liked, and Yuki supposed that was what mattered. "Those are really pretty, Mariko-san!" she said with a smile, complimenting her on the gift. Pausing for a moment to see if anyone else made a move, Yuki took it upon herself to be the next one. Despite her contained anticipation, she carefully unwrapped the present as if she were planning on saving the paper for later use, removing every piece from the box and setting it aside. With piqued curiosity she pulled up the top of the box, having to get onto her knees from the sheer size and reaching inside to clasp her hands around something soft and fuzzy. Out came a snow white teddy bear in a little green jacket with a red bow tie, and suddenly Yuki was five years old all over again. Although she (with the help of Nora) had gotten away from buying stuffed animals for herself (she WAS in high school, after all), she would gleefully accept any such gifts from others. The speechless girl's eyes began to sparkle with an equally-bright smile while she held the bear out in front of herself, it nearly as big as her entire torso. A few other gears were turning in the depths of her mind regarding the gift, but nothing surfaced at the moment. It was then that she caught sight of a bit of tissue paper sticking out of the bear's coat. Curiously she set the bear in her lap and pulled out the tissue, finding an assortment of tiny objects ranging from adorable stationary, a pink pen with a kitty topper, a shiny new snowflake keychain, and a number of other similar small gifts. Yuki carefully handled each item, setting each gingerly on the floor next to the bear before switching gears and jumping to her feet, tackling Jonny with her signature move. "Thank you so much, Santa Jonny-kun! I love everything, and I'm going to use all of it every day!" It might have been an unnecessary overstatement, but at that point in time she truly meant every word she said. In the rush of excitement she'd nearly knocked his hat off, so she stepped back and fixed it for him after realizing she might have gone a bit over the top. "Eheh, sorry... but really! Thank you for everything! You didn't have to get so much..." For all she knew, he'd picked everything up at the Japanese equivalent of the dollar store, but she would never ask and assume it was the best that could be found. The girl seated herself on the ground and picked up the bear again, setting it in her lap and facing it outward before giving it a big hug and resting her chin on its head. The lingering thoughts in the back of her head from earlier slowly began to filter through the haze of loving warmth in her mind. While teddy bears were indeed an adorable and much-loved gift for children, in Japan they tended to mean something else when given to older people of the opposite gender. Something along the lines of... At this realization she quickly stole a glance back at the red-suited boy, seeing if she'd missed anything in her enthusiasm. What if he'd misinterpreted the hug? Then again, she thought, was there much to misinterpret..? Perhaps being from Europe he'd overlooked this bit of culture in relationships in Japan. Surely he just thought it was a nice gift she'd enjoy, given how much she liked the cat plushies from the theater arcade a while back. Yet she couldn't help but feel the color in her cheeks rise at even having such thoughts, hurriedly avoiding eye contact for fear of misconstruing everything. She really had to figure out a way to keep herself from getting so worked up over little things. Burying her face behind the head of the bear, she felt a burning need to redirect attention to someone else and turned to Selene expectantly with a happy expression (at least what of it was visible). "Selene-san's turn!" came the rushed and muffled suggestion through the fuzz and fluff of the oversized teddy bear. |

"The pleasure is all mine, Yuki-san, Selene-chan..." Mariko replied with a smile, cocking her head to one side. "Awesome? Me? Er... I suppose that was one way to put it, not sure how accurate it is now though." the redhead commented on Yuki calling her awesome as they headed indoors, with the main entrance leading into an antechamber with a tiled floor, the main feature being the shoe racks and coat hangers for guests to place their footwear and coats. Leaving her boots at the shoe racks, the corporate heiress proceeded into the carpeted floor of the living room that lay past the antechamber. "Oh, my... The tree is so... So beautiful..." Mariko commented with a certain sense of awe as they entered the living room, with the lavishly-decorated Christmas tree being the center of attraction. "Geez... I mean, my family had more than enough space back home, and I don't think we ever managed to get one quite that impressive." Jonny commented, clearly sharing Mariko's amazement towards the opulence and the amount of effort placed into decorating the place. "For you guys, nothing but the best! That's what friends are for," Selene replied, beaming with pride at her handiwork. Well, not entirely her handiwork. Sure, she'd drawn up the layout for the decorations and drafted instructions on what goes where, but most of the work was done by a group of dedicated staff who'd volunteered to put in some overtime to get things set up, and as such they were every bit as deserving of credit as herself. "Selene-Sama~" Another girl called out to the corporate heiress as she spun around towards the entrance, her eyes growing wide at the approaching Thianbang, who quite literally tackled right into the English heiress, taking her in one big friendly hug that was meant to make one feel all warm and fuzzy inside. "It's nice of you to invite me over! It’s nice to be here." she said and with that gave Selene a friendly lick on the cheek, which was intended to be a gesture of affection, although it wasn't received well by the others, Selene included. "What the- hey, Yume-chan, c-cut it out!" Selene exclaimed, grimacing as her cheeks flushed red, just as Jonny intervened to give the other girl a gentle reminder on respecting the personal space of others. "Thanks, Jonny, but that's Yume-chan for us all. She's a sultry one, that's for sure," the corporate heiress commented with a slightly forced smile and an uneasy giggle as she wiped her cheek with a handkerchief while Thianbang went about a round of self-introduction. Excitement afterall, was no excuse for neglecting basic courtesy. "Yume-chan?" Selene wondered as Thianbang made mention of the other Yume-chan. "She said that she has her hands tied up with something else, so she couldn't make it. Quite regretfully, I say." "Come and get your presents. Feel free to open them, even if its a bit early." Selene resisted the temptation to giggle at Yuki's reaction as Jonny revealed to them the moment of truth. This was what every child would be waiting for. The first gift that Jonny took out from the bag was Mariko's. "Those are really pretty, Mariko-san!" Yuki complimented on Jonny's gift to Mariko - a pair of beautifully-made bracelets, crafted in the likeness of the sun, as well as a rather extensive make-up kit; which Mariko received with a rather emotional response. Possibly that she might've never received a present on Christmas before... or it could (more likely) be that Jonny's sincerity had moved her; which Selene had to admit was just so touching, and had little doubt that Yuki probably felt the same way too. "That's our Jonny, he knows just what makes his friends tick," Selene commented, smiling happily as she gave Yuki and Thianbang a pat on the backs. Next up, was Yuki's present, as the pink-haired girl unwrapped hers - which by comparison was the largest gift package of the lot - with barely-contained joy and excitement, yet at the same time carefully unwrapping the paper with the intention of being able to reuse it instead of tearing at it like an eager puppy on a sugar rush, which the corporate heiress had to admit somewhat surprised her. Selene giggled at Yuki's response towards the white teddy bear in a green winter coat and a red bow tie, and to top it all off in its coat pockets were a collection of various stationery and trinkets that perfectly suited the pink-haired girl's tastes for all things cute and fluffy, as Yuki dived at Jonny in her signature glomp, which Selene swore, if Yuki could magically transform her niceness into a weapon, it would easily rival a Care Bear Stare. "Selene-san's turn!" Yuki called out, her voice slightly muffled from behind the bear as the corporate heiress nodded with a smile at Yuki, glancing at the rectangular gift box in her hand, wrapped in a red and maroon tartan print gift wrap and decorated with a green ribbon. Unwrapping the ribbon, the corporate heiress nimbly peeled away the wrapping to expose the box inside, before lifting the lid to examine its contents, her eyes immediately brightening up. "Cor blimey..." the corporate heiress whispered, the first thing that greeted her was a photo of herself and Jonny, taken back in England during their time at Uncle George's estate. But what took the corporate heiress' breath away was that beneath the photo was a ruby necklace, with the gem being sculpted in the shape of the moon. Smiling, the corporate heiress held up the necklace by the two ends of its chain, resting the gem upon her chest for all to see. It was truly an elegant gift, befitting her status and also symbolic to her name, her parents having named her as such due to being born on a full moon night. "It's so beautiful..." Selene gasped, finding herself mesmerized by its beauty, especially with how the lighting played itself off the gem. "Thank you, Jonny, this I will treasure forever..." Selene said as she bowed her head with her eyes closed, the necklace clasped in her hands as if caught in the effects of a spell. ![]() "But seriously," the corporate heiress spluttered as she looked up after the "magic" of the moment wore off, furrowing an eyebrow as she looked intently at Jonny. "You didn't need to spend so much to get me a gift! I mean, it's good and all, but..." the corporate heiress said with a nervous chuckle, her cheeks turning red as she held the necklace in her right hand, pressed closely to her chest as she gazed at Jonny, then at Yuki and Mariko. Besides, who's ever heard of friends buying jewelry as a present? Seeing how normally, jewelry is usually meant to symbolize something deeper than platonic bonds. And the more she thought of it, the more nervous she got as Selene gripped the necklace more tightly, shying away from Jonny's gaze whilst blushing furiously. "Well, perish that thought..." Selene thought to herself before relaxing somewhat. "Thanks anyway, Jonny. Alright..." Selene tried to sound preppy as she looked around at everyone, before her gaze stopped at Thianbang. "Let's see what you got, Yume-chan!" the corporate heiress commented with a sunny smile as she swung around her waist, clapping her hands together, eyes sparkling with excitement. They say that during Christmas, magic is in the air, and it was clear that so far everyone has been caught in the spell. |

"Opps, sorry." apologized Thianbang as Selene told her to act more normal. "Well, I am only learning from kittens and puppies, they are cute, aren't they." As she stuck out her tongue playfully, explaining how she got her habit of licking people. "Oh? Our other Yume-Chan can't make it? How sad." Signed the witch when Selene explained that the other dream can't make it. "What? A present for me? Thanks!" Thianbang expressed her gratitude to the guy that gave her a present. She then proceed to open it upon Jonny's approval and found a tin of Amedei Chuao Chocolate Truffles. "This is good stuff! Thanks!" And smiled, before taking out one of the Chocolate Truffles, and giving it a lick, before popping it into her mouth and slowly flavor the Chocolate, "Thanks a lot!" She exclaimed as she jumped towards Jonny to give him a friendly hug and a lick on his right cheek to show her gratitude towards his generous gift. "Anyway, I got some food, these are from my homeland," Said the witch as she show everyone a few pots that she has brought along. "You know, just a few days ago it's Winter Solstice, a Chinese Festival, so I got some Tang Yuans, JiaoZis, Wontons and Herbal Ginger Duck for everyone!" and smiled. "I hopes you all will like them." ... ......... ......... ......... ......... And now we must ask ourselves, is it really likely that Zhimeng had anything else better to do then to come here? Not likely. But Selene wasn't lying, Zhimeng really has her hands all tied up, at the moment, and why? Well, just a while ago, Zhimeng had shown up at Selene's doorstep, just an hour before everyone else starts arriving. "Hi Miss Selene, it's a nice day isn't it. I heard from that air-headed witch that you are having a party, and thus here I am, and I got a few good stuff for the party today." The evil dream smiled as she took out two violins and 3 bottles of liquids. "Look! I have brought two violins so we can perform a violin duet later in front of the others! Cool right!" Suggested the girl whom plays the violin as good as Minamoto Shizuka's and Ichinose Kotomi's combined together as she show the two violins to the girl who is known for being good at a lot of music instrument except the violin. "Also I have got for everyone two bottles of great cocktails from my home town!" She continued as she shows Selene the two bottles with the Chinese Characters '九尿合一' and '萬尿歸宗' on them respectively, "This 九尿合一'9Pissess in 1' cocktail is basically mixed by mixing the urine of 9 different animals together in equal portions, then boil it for 9 seconds before allowing it to cool down, and then mixed in one portion of 190 proof Everclear and leaving the mixture to ferment in a cellar for 9 days before putting it into the chiller. While this 萬尿歸宗'10,000 Pisses United' is around the some thing, but mixing the urine of 10,000 different animals and insects instead, and is boiled for 10,000 seconds before cooling down, mixing with an equal part of Vodka and left to ferment for 10,000 minutes before putting into the chiller. These two will be great drinks for everyone tonight." the girl explained the gross liquids she calls cocktails to her friend, before showing her the last bottle, which is a bottle of her stupid Prank Arson Solution. "And at the end of the Party, we could use this, and also set off the fire alarm to play a little joke on everyone, it will be so funny." And then she gives Selene a cheerful smile, "This is going to be a fun night." She says. Edited by Kounoko, Jan 4 2012, 02:58 AM.

And thus, one by one, the presents were opened by the girls, and each seemed quite eager as they pulled away the wrapping. The first to reveal their gift was none other than Mariko, and it was admittedly one he'd been uncertain on. Makeup was something he'd never seen Mariko particularly use, so he had worried a little that she might find the presumption she would like some to be, well, too presumptious. And of course, the bracelets, whilst intended as being a personal sign that only the two of them - as far as he knew - would know, it could have easily struck a little too close to home. The incident in which Mariko lost her powers had been harsh on her, both physically and mentally. The wounds from the beating the Yoma gave her, at least, could heal in time. But the loss of Sol - an entire persona to which she seemed to be deeply bonded - was something that would always be there, at least until they found her again. And as much as Jonny was hopeful, there was no guarantee, and they had nothing to go on. "Dōmo arigatō gozaimasu..." Jonny blinked, as he realised what had begun to run from Mariko's eyes. He immediately scrambled through the pockets of his outfit, red and fluffy as they were, before finally throwing up his hands in frustration as he failed to find a hankerchief. He placed his hand on his hand, feeling embarassed to have made Mariko cry - even if her facial expression indicated that her tears were of joy, not sorrow. It just felt... wrong, to make someone cry like that, particularly given what they'd been through. His hand ruffled over the red and white fabric of the santa hat for a few moments, as inspiration struck him. Plucking it from his head, he held it out in front of him a few moments, as if making sure he was seriously considering what he was about to do. "Hear, let's wipe those tears." He said, brushing upon the girl's face with his hat, his brown hair spiking out slightly more than usual from having been kept inside headwear. It was hardly a proper hankerchief, but it was nice and soft, and he could probably have it washed in time for next year, assuming he kept it safe that long. Subsequently plopping it back on his head, he then turned his attention to the next one to open their present - none other than Yuki. In this case, he had a been a great deal more certain on whether or not what he got for her, would be appreciated. Whilst he would by no means refer to her as simple, there were some places in which a pattern could be easily discerned, even by those without particularly keen senses. Surprisingly, Yuki's initial reaction was far more controlled than he had expected, as having pulled back the wrapping of her present, she extracted the snow white teddy bear from the box. He wondered what had happened to the usual ball of energy he had anticipated, as instead of some massive glee fest, she quite tactfully and patiently laid out each of the smaller gifts that had been placed inside the pockets of the bear's coat. It was about a second or two later, that Jonny realised that the ball of energy, had merely been waiting for the right moment. "Thank you so much, Santa Jonny-kun! I love everything, and I'm going to use all of it every day!" The sudden and rapid hug had not only threatened to knock the hat from Jonny's head, but the boy from his very feet. Even if he was expecting her general demeanor be towards this sort of thing, her action was completely from out of the left field. "Hey, hey, you don't need to go that far." Jonny was referring to more than just her usage of the various items, before something else occured to him. "Just uh, be more careful when you do something like that." "Eheh, sorry... but really! Thank you for everything! You didn't have to get so much..." Yuki finally gave the boy some breathing room - though he could hardly say he didn't appreciate the gesture - as she adjusted his hat back into the proper place, before setting herself back on the ground with her new friend. He could only hope that her love for the new toy didn't overshadow her relationship with Nora, otherwise things would go downhill faster than an avalanche. "So, we've had Mariko, and Yuki..." He said, counting off the opened presents thus far, before turning his head. "Which would mean its..." "Selene-san's turn!" Came a muffled yell from Yuki, and Jonny nodded in turn. "Go ahead Selene. I think you'll like it." He smiled eagerly, as the corporate heiress pulled away both wrapping and ribbon, before gently removing the lid. "Cor blimey..." She whispered, and Jonny's smile widened further. The picture was of the two of them together, Jonny standing behind Selene with a hand on her shoulder, and the two of them flashing the old V for victory. It seemed like the perfect picture to have framed, considering the mood it captured, and what it had been in the wake of. But the ruby was what really seemed to blow Selene away, as was the intended effect. There weren't a great deal of gifts one could buy a person such as herself, without them potentially seeming like every day items they could obtain regularly. He had searched high and low, occasionally having to pass through border control in doing so, to find some place in the world that crafted an item such that it suited her, but in a way that it remained unique amongst her gifts. It was amazing what some people had in stock, in small stores tucked away in the corner of London. Selene rested the gem upon her chest, its red shine brought forth by the myriad of lights that shone upon it. "Thank you, Jonny, this I will treasure forever..." Forever seemed like a rather long time to the speedster but the words were warm to his heart. It was nice to see each of them appreciate their gifts, after all the brainstorming and effort in trying to find them. "But seriously," Selene's sudden remark made Jonny jump slightly, and he wondered if she might have some complaint. "You didn't need to spend so much to get me a gift! I mean, it's good and all, but..." Oh, so that was Selene's concern - that he had meant too much money on her. He wondered if he should alleviate her concerns somewhat by revealing the actual price to her, but he decided against it - because, who honestly told people how much their presents cost? But something took Jonny's notice, which confused him. It had occured earlier with Yuki, sorta, but now it was happening with Selene as well. Moments after the two of them received their gifts, they had seemingly acted to make sure they weren't looking at him. But why? They seemed happy with their gifts, aside from Selene's worry about it being too expensive, so for what reason would they be avoiding eye contact? Well, whatever it was, it didn't seem to last too long, as Selene addressed Thianbang about what her present might be. Shrugging to himself, Jonny watched as she tore off the wrapping paper, and laid eyes upon the chocolate inside. Her approval of the brand was quickly given - he had found some in the shop, and from the price tag presumed they had to be good - and she was even quicker to pop one into her mouth, before savouring the actual confection. "Thanks a lot!" As it had been with Yuki, he hadn't been expecting a hug so suddenly, and thus little was done to stop it. However, what was even more unexpected, was the treatment he received on top of the embrace, as the girl gave him a lick on his cheek. Hardly anything extreme, but it carried so many implications, and - in the lad's mind anyway - was so personal an interaction that he couldn't help but blush a little for the mere fact it had happened. He brought his hand to his face momentarily afterwards, just to pinch himself to be sure, before taking a look at the pots of food that had been brought along by the girl. "Never tried genuine chinese food before, I'll admit." In his mind, the various takeaways didn't count, so perhaps he may very well have done. But none of the names given seemed familiar to him, so this would be no doubt interesting to say the least. "Glad you all enjoyed your presents though. Merry Christmas." He smiled to himself, as even with that small embarassment, he felt much better for being able to be here, this year. |

As both Yuki and Selene declared the bracelets beautiful, Mariko's smile spread slowly through the tears... Though with Selene's comment about how good Johnny was at knowing how his friends tick, her response was soft and low, nearly impossible to hear unless anyone was actually listening for it... "That he is... More than you could imagine..." Though, Johnny then came to her rescue against her tears with his hat. With her tears dried, she could see the presents that her friend had gotten for the other girls... "A giant teddy bear for Yuki-san? That's very kawaii... Just like Yuki-san is." Did she say that? Yes. Did she mean it? Yes. Was it true? From her perspective, yes. Was she both verging on a potential yuri moment, and a closet yuri fangirl? Better to not ask or think... If this was a scene from a manga, she would probably have gained a spontaneous and explosive nosebleed at the girl glomping "Santa Johnny-kun". "Must not ruin moment with a fangirl-squee or nosebleed..." Unaware she had actually voiced that thought, Mariko watched Selene's reaction to her present of a photo and a ruby necklace. "Ooooo... How grown-up and beautiful, Selene-chan... That necklace really suits you..." Nodding a few times the, girl watched at ThianBang's reaction to the chocolate... The tackle-licking... Proved too much, and the spontaneous and explosive nosebleed kicked in... Which propelled her head up and back, and took her back by three paces or so... Though, when she looked back down, the nosebleed was gone. "Amusing injuries" indeed... "I... The... But... and... You know what? I really need to stop being surprised by the events that happen like that..." Things... Were seriously getting a little ridiculous, but at least the mood was still light and happy. Must be that rumoured "Christmas Spirit"... All her other Chistmas' had been spent with her family, except for last year, when it was all alone... Never with friends like this... And Mariko hoped it would be the first of many, as she slipped on her shiny and new bracelets... |

Aah, just listen to them having fun inside. She wasn't exactly sure why she's not with them at the moment, and was instead standing there outside of the penthouse wrapped in a green scarf, hands wrapped in bandages for some reason, with a small badly wrapped present, tied together with two rubber bands. Well... of course, she was 'sorta' invited by Selene to come to the Christmas party, but she never gave an answer to that. The guards never stopped her though, so she supposed she's still invited to come if she still wanted to. Someone has to comment on how she managed to find her way here in the first place, but let's leave it at that. To be honest though... she really didn't care about some party going on. Had Selene caught her on her good day Youma would have instantly said "No thanks," without even a shred of consideration. The only reason she was even here in the first place was... well. She was banking that Seth would be here. He did say something about going to a Christmas party, so she supposed he's here. Why though...they haven't talked to each other much. Barely, if never. She did her best to ignore his existence from the moment she met him and that damned Nakamura girl together. Damned brat making fun of her making her look like the guilty one with that damned crocodile tears and stupid acting...! And that idiot frikkin' bought it! Seething with fury her hand clenched tightly on the little package in her hands, crushing it ever so slightly, before relinquishing her grip. ...Then why is she even here anyway...? Why does she wanted to meet him so much...? ... She knocked on the door twice, before turning the doorknob, pulling on the door, trying to open it to no avail before realizing it was a 'push to open' kind of door. She felt retarded and the blush of embarrassment on her face took a while to disappear as she poked her head inside. "...Uh... I'm here..." |
