A part of Mira wanted to tell him simply not to dig into her past too much... but that would be just asking for the paladin to do so.

"I don't think there's all that much you can do. This is kinda the thing I gotta figure out for myself I guess." she told him "I should be able to figure things out in the four years I'm here though."

"At least I hope I'll get to stay here four years." she thought. While since she was 'forgiven' she didn't have to worry about bursting into flames on entrance to a church or touching the cross, she still was, biologically speaking, a demon. The person to put two and two together might be someone as normal as a doctor who might find more than a few 'inhuman' sequences in her DNA, someone she might have common contact with, such as a teacher, or the paladin.

"You're right," Asher said with a nod of his head, hand tucking into his pockets, "I was being a bit presumptuous, really -- intruding a bit much into your business."

The young paladin did have a problem in that area... Helping people was a virtuous deed, for certain, but he had to remember that he wasn't within the confines of the Order's facilities anymore. Not everyone in society at large was so open to someone immediately hopping on them and volunteering their assistance. Though he meant well, he'd have eto make a future note to curb that tendency.

"Well," he continued on, smiling nonetheless, "I certainly hope things come together for you. And I have no doubt we'll be seeing a bit of each other from now on... We're in the same homeroom, at least. I'm sure this won't be our last meeting."

"It's not that you were nosy." she mentioned. She didn't mind, it's not like her own father would care that much.

"It's mostly that there are some things that people can only do for themselves. Figuring out my future falls under that category." she told him "And yeah, I hope so too."

She laughed.

"You have a supernatural studies course? If you do, that'd probably be an easy A." she asked.

In hindsight, she regretted signing up for it herself. If they ever did anything that had any 'interesting' effects on demons, she'd be an immediate target.

"I do, as a matter of fact," he said, eyes drifting upward as he tried to mentally recall the printed schedule he'd been given. "I think it's.... First period?"

It was true, that course should probably have come naturally to Asher, being raised by Paladins trained to fight the demonic. But then again, there was surely a lot more to the realm of the supernatural than what he had learned from the Order, so the class would no doubt be valuable.

"It seems our schedules fall pretty closely in line, doesn't it? Kind of a coincidence, that one of the first people I meet shares a homeroom and some courses with me."

He reached up, lightly brushing his fingertips over his cross pendant.

"And who knows... This IS a school designed to train students with exceptional powers... Maybe we'll get to battle each other sometime?"

"Cool, same here." she mentioned.

She was a bit worried by the prospect of even facing him in combat, even if it was just for practice. If he happened to have a technique that did little to humans, but seriously injured demons, she'd be out of luck and caught. Granted, holy techniques weren't particularly effective on her any more than anyone else anymore, but if he had a technique based off demon biology rather than the 'unholy' factor, she could still get struck.

"Well, I have a wooden practice scythe if you ever just wanted to practice weapon skills against me." she mentioned "I don't get why there's a school policy on keeping lethal weapons on campus. I mean, half the student body probably qualifies AS a lethal weapon. It's a good thing my real scythe is a spirit weapon, so I can summon and unsummon it at will." Even if the wood was consecrated, she probably wouldn't have to worry about her cover being blown.

She wasn't aware of it, but that was precisely how Asher's techniques worked -- the very nature of being a demon, not the person's particular beliefs or alignment, dictated his anti-demon spells. Of course, as it stood, Asher had no reason to actually USE them on her...

"Well, it's a safety thing, I imagine," he said of the weapon policy, chuckling a little, Think about it, after all... A school full of students with all kinds of super powers and combat skills. A simple disagreement could turn into a bloodbath if we were all walking around toting swords and guns and who-knows-what-else, right?"

He shifted bag on his shoulder, and paused a moment to crack his neck.

"I don't have any wooden weapons like that, though... Probably something I should consider investing in if I want to get some quality practice time."

"Well, on the other hand." she laughed "Still, I don't see much of a difference between a person with a flamethrower, and a person who can throw flames?"

She wasn't going to turn it into a full out debate, she figured she'd leave it at a joke with a point.

"Just make sure it's balanced similar your real weapon. I've always found it to be better training that way." she said.

"You clearly know your way around combat training," said Asher, listening to her advice, "Back at home, when the Paladins used to train, we simply used dulled metal weapons. I never thought to train with wooden ones... But maybe I should invest in one."

It did make sense -- it was a lot cheaper to make wood then metal, after all. He smiled a little, tilting his head slightly to one side.

"Maybe we'll get the opportunity to train against one another sometime? I could always use a partner from time to time."

"Sounds like fun to me." Mira mentioned "Just get in touch with me when your interested in that, and I'll take you up on that offer.". Mira would counts as a 'blood knight' in many case, enjoying fighting for the sake of fighting as entertainment. Granted, Mira wouldn't dream of taking a sentient life for sport. But she did enjoy it.
