NICE DRIVE!
THUD

Hiro Tsukasa's eyes widened just a little as he impacted the bottom of this mysterious world and then slowly bounced up floating just a few inches in this ocean of infinite black. How far down had he fallen? It had felt like an entire lifetime passed as he slowly descended; all the while subjected to horror after horror. Were the others experiencing the same thing? Hiro would have immediately wondered this, but by now he had stopped thinking altogether.

Wasn't that what Rasputin had suggested somewhere during his descent? He should just accept the situation he created. And yet, he couldn't help but feel guilty for those other Arcadians that had come so far, improved so much and fought so hard against a being so alien and powerful that it was unlike any other foe they had ever faced. Was this really okay?

The contract...

A new voice echoed all around Hiro. However, it sounded different than those summoned the depths of the black ocean. It was as though he were hearing it clearly, but the voice was coming from somewhere far beyond free from the influence of the depths Arcadia had sunk into. Still, Hiro Tsukasa recognized the voice plainly as he struggled the will to mutter a single name, "P-Philemon?"

The day you signed that contract you bound not only you, but every member who will join Arcadia in a promise to aide me. You are eager to dwell on the fact you're breaking that woman's promise, but have you so readily forgotten my own?

"Hina..." Hiro mumbled in despair at Philemon's reference and then in a dull emotionless tone continued, "We tried, Philemon. Sorry."

You did more than try. How many others could accomplish what your Arcadia just did? It has impressed even me and for that you once again have earned my respect and the aid of my Velvet Room; though this too will require payment in the future. Think back, Hiro Tsukasa, to that day you signed my contract... and the words I spoke to you... remember...

"Remember..." Hiro echoed slowly as he began to think. It was deep down past all the memories that had been drug to the forefront and used as a means of assault against him. The place they were in now wanted this memory forgotten. And yet, the more Hiro thought about it the more he began to slowly recall the events.

"I..." Hiro began tearing past bad memory after memory, "I remember!" However, as he shouted this a bright light flashed before him. As the light dimmed a single tarot card floated within the black depths before. However, its design was of one had never seen Igor use within the Velvet Room itself.

"The World?" Hiro questioned examining the card, "What is this?"

This!? This is my Trump Card. It's time to pay back the efforts your subordinates already put in. Reach out, Hiro Tsukasa, reach out to the truth and dispel this world of illusions!

The black depths effect was still ever present. But spurred on by Philemon's words Hiro Tsukasa slowly outstretched his right hand. At first he grasped The World tarot card and then all at once squeezed tight shattering the card and sending out an explosion of pale blue light.

At once a sphere of magical symbols would encase not only Hiro, but every other Arcadian trapped within the black ocean. Slowly, lines began to run from sphere to sphere as if connecting dots. If one could have viewed the scene from a distant perspective they would see in truth a gigantic spell circle was being formed with each sphere acting as a node within the design. From the first second each Arcadian entered these spheres there would be a snap reaction as they instantly recovered from the debilitating effect of the black ocean.

Suddenly, the spheres began to rise quickly and with a flash of light as if breaching the surface of the ocean the Arcadians would find themselves back on the R'lyeh standing before the rip in reality. Cthulhu's head was now visible from within with a hand at either side working on dragging itself through and spreading its influence. The spheres, now part of a fully formed spell circle, continued to rise however. As they fully exited the body of each Arcadian they would find that the sphere itself drew out their Persona, whether their suit had been modified for person summoning or not, trapping it within as the spell circle raised into the sky. It seemed the effect of Me Patra was still in effect as well.

There was little time to take stock of things, but glancing up to wonder about the sphere phenomenon Hiro instantly reasoned what was going on. Dropping his jaw slightly in shock he watched with the others as the tarot card of each Persona materialized behind it within the sphere. "It's a giant Tarot Spread," Hiro spoke in shock, "Fusion..."

Slowly, blue flames began to glow around each node in the Fusion Circle and with blinding speed the flames started shooting through all the various lines connected each sphere until the entire design of the Circle had been illuminated. Energy began to surge in the center of the sphere and without warning every single Persona was drawn into the center with a flash of light as they fused into a single being.

Arcadia, I am thee... and thou art I...

I have emerged from the spirit of your hearts...

The courage to fight back against any foe...

Protecting those too weak to defend themselves against the darkness...

And bringing salvation to all innocent people terrorized by evil...

MESSIAH

Slowly, Messiah descended from the sky till it was level with the face of Cthulhu. Its very presence sent out an aura of confident and inspiration warming the heart of every Arcadian present. In this moment there was no fear, no doubts, no insecurities. They were going to defeat Cthulhu and save the world. It was no longer a battle, but plain truth.

Without rest, Messiah began to fly forward at an incredibly speed tilting its head down so the long spear-like back portion of its body was quite literally hurtling towards Cthulhu like the mighty bow of some great boat. Energy began to surge at the tip of Messiah's spear and the Arcadians watching knew it wasn't just some sort of random miracle. This was their power.

With a thunderous crash that shook the very island of R'lyeh itself Messiah impacted with Cthulhu square in the head ramming into it and forcing green blood to burst forth. Raising its arms just as Cthulhu began to wrench from of the edges to try and claw Messiah away, the Persona grappled with Cthulhu and slowly but surely began to push the abomination back through the tear in reality.

Philemon said this, Messiah spoke alluding to the conversation that had occurred when Hiro made the pact for the Velvet Room and the singular truth that made this victory possible...

Bonds of people is the true power.

With another thunderous explosion of power Messiah shot through Cthuhlu itself leaving a gaping hole in its head at the same time blowing it back within wherever it was coming from. No longer next to the tear this rapidly began to close up and seal together. And just like that it was all over. The clouds cleared over R'lyeh and there were no longer any Deep Ones in sight. From the shore area cheers could be heard coming from the B.P.R.D. operatives seemingly victorious in their efforts with at least quite a few survivors.

With the vanishing of Cthulhu and Messiah all the Arcadians would suddenly feel quite drained, but it was a well paid price. Everything was over now. The Hellfire Club, Rasputin's ambitions and the dark alien being that waited somewhere beyond time and space pulling the strings all along.

"We did it," Hiro whispered softly as he fell to his knees stretching out his arms to catch himself on some nearby rocks to avoid collapsing entirely. And nobody had to die, he thought happily to himself as he glanced up with a weak grin gazing around to the gathered members of Arcadia's Fire Division. He wanted to tell them how proud he was of them all. They had not only done the impossible, they had saved the world in the process and nobody had to sacrifice anyone precious to them. It was truly the first victory that Arcadia could be proud of in every way possible.

We did it...

Follow me for madness and fun!!!!
Suddenly, Ryo was engulfed in a sphere of magical symbols. At once his despair was dispelled (rimshot) and he could feel power welling up inside of him.

Meanwhile, Sho was also experiencing the same event and felt as though the darkness surrounding her heart was immediately banished.

They arrived along with the other Arcadians as Cthulhu was clawing his way into their world. Ryo's and Sho's personas were drawn out of their bodies to become part of the mass persona fusion. In a flash of bright light, they were all combined into one new persona. They both watched in awe as it struck down the true form of the elder god in epic fashion.

Once both the Persona and the elder god had vanished, Ryo and Sho felt an immense amount of energy leave their bodies. Ryo seemed to stumble as his consciousness faded and Terion took over. He quickly caught Sho who passed out as well. He surveyed what now remained of the ancient city of R'lyeh from where he stood. The threat was gone. The stars were now wrong once again and would be for quite some time he hoped. "You two rest. You humans managed to take down an elder god. Perhaps humanity is capable of greater things than I expected,"he said.

Damon 'stood' there, still on his hands and knees, focusing entirely on that pocket watch and the promise behind it. It and only it held his mind together for now. As the voices grew louder and louder, he focused more and more until finally the voices were gone. Everything was quiet for a moment, before all at once, magical symbols flooded the area, and before he knew it he was out of the oceanic void and back where he was before, Cthulhu emerging from the strange portal he had formed. The sphere continued on, however, Dark Magician sealed within it, arms folded and scepter in hand, Damon rising to his feet and looking up at the magics at work.

Hiro explained what was going on, with astonishment in his voice. Persona Fusion...So that was what was happening now. With a flash of light, the persona's of Arcadia became one. Into Messiah. No....Into the Persona of Arcadia itself. Whereas they had destroyed Cthulhu's first form divided, but unified, this would be a completely unified force aimed at it's destruction.

The nightmares and lie from the darkness was gone. He remembered once again that his past was not his fault, and the parts that could have been seen that way were forgiven. Once again, he could be free form the forced memories of old, and return to the mindset that was properly his, the one free of the despair that Cthulhu had fabricated from his past, much like everyone else. Gripping his pocket watch tightly, he knew that, completely, unerringly.

Messiah struck forth, banishing Cthulhu back to where it belonged, and it from their world. Barely standing, he looked up to the sky. The world was safe. They'd done the impossible. They had stopped the power of a being beyond their skills.

Their Fated Day was over. Arcadia had won. And now they could go home, to start a new day, free from this campaign of destruction the Hellfire club had started.

~*~*~

Meglumar kept staring into the void, as if daring it to dare continue. He wouldn't falter. And it seemed to pay off as he found himself freed from it, along with all the others. Gallant was with him, to an extent, but as soon as he was back where he was before, Gallant continued on without him, joining into an array of magic before being fused into...something.

And then that something spoke. It was the combined might of Arcadia given form. And it was going to beat Cthulhu senseless. That was just fact at this point. It was as if reality itself had given Arcadia a bow of respect, as this Persona known as Messiah unleashed it's power on Cthulu, securing the victory for them all.

Their victory complete, it felt as if all of the strength of Arcadia was exhausted for now. Meglumar fell to his knees, almost laughing. Heck, there was even some nervous chuckling from him, really. They did it. They beat the odds, they beat the god, they were done with this. They'd just saved the world! Despite being completely drained, Meglumar felt like he wanted to celebrate this. He wanted to run over to Star, pick her up, spin her about and celebrate this.

...A shame he could barely feel his legs, let alone his arms.

"Ah~ I want to go home~" Screamed Zhimeng.
"You can't, Hahahaha." Said the ghost.
         "Says who?"
         "What?"

"This is getting stupid, " and so she was acting all along, "Now this would be really scarcely if it were true, but why would I believe you? My military adviser had told me I will be able to go back soon, and I trust her, so, have a nice day, bye~" Said the girl as she walks away.

"Stop!!! You can't do this! You can't ignore me! I am your inner demon!"
         "Whatever, as if I care."
Suddenly, Xuanmeng appeared from no where, and said, "Hahaha! You have been trick by me, I sent you here to replace the Zhimeng over there for life, hahaha!f"
"Nice try, as if I believe our good adviser will try something as lame as that. Not to mention, last I checked, she doesn't know teleportation. Now get lost, I am busy trying to think of what to do."
"Impossible! Have you no inner demons?"
"Inner demons, maybe, but heart, soul conscience and love, nope~" And smiled.
"Ah!!! You are a demon yourself!!!"
         "How rude!"

Then light came, things happens, Messiah beat the shit out of Cthuhlu, everyone gets tired.

"Ah! Why am I feeling so tired! Anyway, all ends well, time to go take a rest, Thianbang~ where are you?" She called out to the other dream as she drags herself around, feeling drained.

Only to find the little witch on the floor, foaming from her mouth and eyeballs spinning.
         Still in horror, it seems.
"No...... this can't be happening... human will not kill human, impossible..."
"Come on! Wake up!" Zhimeng said as she gives Thianbang a kick in the head. "All is done here, we are going back!"

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
Even as Shad descended into a new stage of complete and utter mental anxiety, Tango could very well tell that the fun and games were coming to an end. Mainly since he wasn't really real, yet he could sense one of the Persona's somehow breaking through his master's influence (well, not really his master, but a close friend of his master's). Shame, he was enjoying crushing this human's spirit and goals, but in a way, Tango felt a bit of relief.

"Hey...." He walked over to Shad and rested one of his paws against his robed legs, causing the mage to look at him with glazed-over eyes filled with disillusions. "Sorry to bug ya, but you essentially...passed."

"What." Was the stiff, guttural, disbelieving reply. Tango chuckled, already sensing that a explosion of pale, blue light had already wiped out the background of cranking gears, leaving the two once again in the darkness.

"You passed. You actually took time to THINK about what you want to do, not what you want to do for others. Trust me on this one, you desperately need to do something other than hang out with Arcadia. Join or create a club, take part in sports, let others help you with your gardening hobby, date a girl, do karaoke, do something worthwhile but never turn into a boring person who's never done anything with his life. Be more assertive and active and you'll do fine in life." Tango said with a smirk, then backed up a few feet as a large sphere made of magical symbols formed around him.

"I...see now." Shad's eyes cleared up, filled with strong concern for the first time in a long time. "Thank you for giving me this life lesson, Tango, was it?" Two lines of white magic burst out from either side of the sphere, which began to rise upward.

"Lesson? Ha! Einstein's United Theory is a lesson, I just like to depress people and mock them for their shortcomings for laughs. Still, good luck up there, kid. You're gonna have your hands full later on." Tango waved, then faded back into non-existence into the darkness, as Shad rose up and up until he touched the ground once more, the sphere that consumed him departing to fly with the others, forming a massive spell circle. Oddly enough, he couldn't make out much of who was inside the spell bubble he was just in.

Hiro's words snapped him out of his daze to try and identify the stranger, looking instead at the ugly face of the Elder God. "Aaack! Geez, he's even more ugly and sinister than before!" He said clearly shocked by the Eldrich's reappearance, disgusted and grossed out at the same time, as it would appear that he was slowly getting more and more in touch with his emotions. "And what the heck is a Tarot Spread-" He was cut out and dazzled by the light show, followed by Messiah's grand entance into the fray. 'Okkkkkkaaaaayyyyy.....I have absolutely no idea of what is going on.' Shad thought, perplexed by this turn of events, just as Messiah plowed a hole in the abomination's head and sent it packing.

It was a minute later that Shad collapsed on the ground, too sore to even move as Excalibur once more sat on his big, comfy hat like a throne. "I don't know if we did it or not, but this does feel like a victory. I'm just so tired..." He yawned briefly, a faint smile forming on his normally vacant face.

BGM CUE: 150 Million Miracles; Summer Wars OST

From the encroaching darkness in his vision, pinpricks of light stabbed and chiseled it away, finally freeing Hajime from the cold grip of death and despair that would have succeeded in ending his life right then and now if it were given just a bit more time. With the freedom, Hajime felt the weight pressing on his heart and shoulder were lifted, and he could now look up again not in the face of whatever evil the eldritch abomination had used from peeking into the darkest recess of his heart but the truth of what he truly believes in made manifest.

“You did good, kiddo. You make me proud!”

In front of him, stood his sister again; not a being of malic like earlier, but just her being herself. She wore the same police uniform that she always wore on duty, crisp, clean and perfect like the person who wore it. But the prettiest thing on her right now was the honest, bright smile she was giving him, the same smile she also makes when on duty as if it was a part of her uniform.

“Sis…” Hajime began, the sight of her seemingly alive and well in front of him making him at a loss for words.

“A Hero of Justice is a lonely job. And there’s never guarantee that you’ll save everyone.” Misaka said sadly with an equally sad smile. “But if you keep that to heart, then as long as you can save even one person, then you did the world some good. And that’s always something to be proud of even if nobody remembers you.”

Hajime was startled at the words, as it brought back a certain memory during a hot summer month when he was still a kid, resting on his sister’s lap drifting in and out of sleep while she told him the exact same words… only back then he was so young he didn’t understand it at first…

“You’ll always be my favorite cute little brother no matter what.” Misaka went on, her smile brightening up. “So stop blaming yourself!” Suddenly, she was right in front of him now and flicking a finger to his forehead, eliciting a slight yelp of surprise from him, confused at the ethereal reality presented before him. As if to assure him that she was very much real, at least in this space, she threw herself onto him and pulled him into a loving embrace, one that was so familiar that it hurts in a good way.

“Take care, kiddo…” Misaka whispered into his ears with a finality before breaking the embrace, taking a step back and turns around with a smile before vanishing into thin air in front of him.

With that, the view suddenly changes once more, and he found himself with the other Arcadians back on the accursed city, with the approaching Eldritch Abomination that was still slowly coming out of the portal which it rend in the fabric of reality itself. While they were still able to gaze their eyes on it without going mad, the impossibly huge size of the thing and the otherworldly matter it was made out of made it seems even more impossible to beat than the physical avatar that they had killed first. Again, Hajime and probably the others were at a loss of how to kill something this powerful and otherworldly.

But their doubt and despair in the face of evil was short-lived, as the powers of their Personas, theirs who were trusted with it and the rest of the Arcadians, were worked by magic and miracle fused into the single entity that called itself Messiah. Its visage was truly a sight to behold that Hajime burned the image into his memory as he was without his camera, even as it struck out at Cthulhu in a fight of gigantic proportion and sent it back to where it came from, hopefully for good.

When the deed was done, and everything was safe, Hajime suddenly slumped down on his knees as the mission had finally taken its toll on him and everybody else. Looking around at the tired but happy faces on everyone, Hajime smiled before raising his hand to summon Sol once more, who looks just as tired as he was but nevertheless still standing up on all fours with every intention to answer its master’s bidding, which it certainly knew what.

“Media!” Hajime commanded weakly, and Sol howled into the air again, summoning a rush of warm air from her in a circle outwards to all the Arcadians, restoring a bit of their strength so that they wouldn’t be too burdened by the exhaustion that inflicted them all. As Sol vanishes away, its job done, Hajime stood up slowly with the newly restored strength and made his way to find Hotaru and Hinata…

It was truly a day to be alive and well…

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
Not sure exactly how long has it been. You can't really tell in a place where time doesn't even exist. It could have been hours, days, months, maybe even years, trapped here in this endless dimension of nothingness, incapable of doing anything to get himself out of this place, growing weary and tired after relentlessly and fruitlessly calling for the one voice he had been heavily banking on to be his savior.

"NO! NONONONO! V, ANSWER ME! V!" He continued, refusing to accept reality as it is, his voice growing croaky and painfully weak with every word he utters. But even then... even he knew... at this point it's just useless. At this point he's just wasting his energy, wasting his life... but he just won't accept it!

"GodDAMMIT STOP IT ALREADY, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO STUBBORN?!"

"Shouldn't you know that? You are him after all,"

!Seth didn't expect to hear it, and Seth had lost hope in hearing it. Whatever the case hearing the voice really brought shock to their faces, as !Seth turned around hastily, noting behind him somewhere far within the darkness of nothingness, came an existence that shouldn't be.

"What's with that surprised look?"

"What's the meaning of this..." There was an unmistakable flare of anger on !Seth's face as he realized who the stranger in red and black was, his fist clenched tight like a solid ball of steel, glaring at him with a ridiculous amount of hate emanating from the rage-filled eyes. "What are you doing here?"

The man in red and black continued making his way towards the two identical boys with a faint smile, his hands pocketed, looking about as at ease as ever as though he was merely walking around his own home. It was... strange to say the least, thought Seth, whom had since quieted down since the stranger's arrival. Remember how he described !Seth? He was... familiar, but foreign. As for this stranger, the best way to put it... he was foreign, but familiar. Someone whom he had never seen his face before, but knows very well... and apparently it's someone !Seth knows very well too. "...V?"

"Yo Seth. Nice to see you looking down in the dump like that," He gave a cheerful grin, waving at the two without any sense of worry over their current predicament, stopping by Seth to help him up, "Gosh look at you, you're a mess," The man said, not confirming his identity as he patted Seth's head, before turning towards the other Seth. "And you too. Never got the chance to meet you before this, so how's it going?"

While !Seth was standing there, staring at the man with deathly looking eyes, the man himself idly walking around the place as though he was sightseeing, Seth was glancing between the two, one of them being a bizarre existence of his own mind (as claimed by !Seth himself), and the other one was a complete and total stranger whom he supposed... is someone both Seth and !Seth knew? Before he could question anything about it though, !Seth had pretty much confirmed everything. "Get lost V, I DON'T NEED YOU!!!"

"Eh?" Well, no actually it only made Seth even more confused than before. And it seemed as though even the man was taken aback from the sudden outburst. There was even more awkward silence and pauses after that, the man, whom had apparently been identified as V (though he neither confirmed nor denied it) stared at !Seth with a look of surprise, before sighing as though... disappointed? "I never thought you'd hate me that much, Seth..." Seth? Wait, what do you mean? HE'S Seth!

"Oi, what's the meaning of this?!" Finally getting the question out of his mouth, the boy staggered on the spot, attempting to trudge towards the man called V, before stopping in his track as V held up his hand, signalling him to halt for the moment. "I'll explain in a moment," V said, refusing to take his eyes off the aggravated !Seth. Resuming his advance !Seth started backing up slowly for some reason, despite his hate towards V he seemed to have some sort of reluctance or fear of interacting with the man in red and black. "What do you want... stand back, or I'll kill you!"

"Let's see about that," Swiftly, without a moment to retaliate, V had whipped out a revolver from inside his jacket, pointing the barrel straight at !Seth's heart, continuing his advance towards him without faltering. His target was obviously shaken, taking a backward stumble and falling on his back in his haste to make as much distance from V as possible. There was no doubt about it, !Seth feared the man in front of him, completely disregarding his earlier attempt to sound like the bigger man. "Wait, what are you doing... stay away!" His warning (or plea, rather) was completely ignored, and before he knew it, he was staring right into the cold lifeless eyes of a natural killer called V. It was... probably the last thing he expected to see before being unable to see anything ever again as the hot lead pierces through his chest.

Though it never came.

He expected it to happen in an instant the moment the man closed his distance, expected the instantaneous burn on his chest before completely blacking out without feeling a thing after that, but it never came. The stare-down lasted for a second... two seconds... three seconds too long before he realized that V wasn't actually going to shoot despite having the cold steel of the revolver's barrel pressed directly on his chest. His breath was irregular, he was shaking slightly, cold sweat running down his face as he stared into the eyes of a person who had a completely opposite vibe to him, cold, cool, emotionless, fearless, like a person who can and will do anything he wants whenever he wants wherever he wants. "W-what...? Aren't you gonna kill me?"

He regretted asking that when he saw the look on the man's face, recoiling slightly as he expected to hear the crack of a gunshot blowing up his eardrum. Instead however, he was greeted with another three seconds of total silence. As he turned his face back to the man, he was instead greeted with a small smile. "I'm not," V said simply, loosening his grip on the revolver as he twirled it around in his hand, before holding it for !Seth to take. "But you said you wanted to,"

It was almost impossible to believe his ears. What... is he doing, offering a weapon to a person who's more than willing to end him, powered by nothing but hate alone? It was definitely a crazy act, but that's not a chance !Seth's willing to let go. Without a moment's ado he immediately snagged the revolver away from V's hand, rushing backwards and away from him as he got back up to his feet, holding the gun in his hand pointing the muzzle straight at the original owner of the gun's heart. "Hah! Hahahah! What a turn of event! I dunno what kind of stupid virus you are, but this is my chance... my life is my own life and you're not taking it away from me!"

He intended to pull the trigger right away, refusing any kind of attempt for V to counter, ignoring the shocked and desperate yell of Seth in his futile attempt to stop him. But whether it was V or Seth whom tried to stop him, they really needn't.

He can't pull the trigger.

Not for lack of trying or motivation. There was so much hate in him right now directed towards the man named V right in front of him, he could kill just by staring at him. The revolver was held tightly in his hand, shaking slightly from the force of it, his hands were sweating just from holding it in the air. Silence, silence, more silence for who knows how long, there's yet to be even a single crack of a gunshot ringing through the air. The person holding the gun at the moment was the one most likely to pull the trigger whenever he wanted, pointing at wherever he wanted, but at the moment, for some unknown reason... he couldn't do it. He couldn't shoot the man in front of him. He was... scared.

And all this time... V had always been at ease, not even once flinching at the sight of a gun pointing his way, maintaining the cool composed look since he appeared in the first place, as though he was waiting for the shot to come. Apparently he had waited enough, as he gave a sigh, not of disappointment, but of relief. Looks like even he was a bit apprehensive behind the mask of fearlessness. "I guess that confirms it then," He said, turning his head towards Seth whom had been anxiously standing at the sidelines. "He's you. Or at least... your mind manifested,"

His mind... manifested? Wait... do you mean to say that this other Seth he had been arguing with all these time was... his own mind? "I... I don't get it..." No, he does get it, he just wanted more explanation. That's his mind, okay, understandable, but how can V say that with such level of confidence? What was the basis of his claim?

"Simple. He doesn't have the willingness to kill anyone," V answered, as though knowing full well what was going on in Seth's mind.

As blunt as a sledgehammer, the words stung !Seth harder than a frying pan to his face. "You... DON'T MOCK ME!!!" Angered and riled up, he once again took aim after his first one faltered, staring down the barrel towards the man in red and black. He's gonna do it... this time he's gonna do it! Applying force to the trigger, he's gonna pull it and a gunshot will be heard and he will kill him! Of course, that never happened. As much as he imagined it to be, however hard he wanted it to become a reality, it never happened, and would never happen, because it's just as V said... he was scared to kill anyone.

"Actually I'm kind of glad you didn't, that would've killed my consciousness for real..." He said, nervously scratching his head. Though there was no doubt that he barely made any attempts, or heck, even thought about making any attempts to stop !Seth. It was as though... he was banking on this outcome to happen. "But yeah, Seth. Just answer this one simple question. Would you kill anyone?" It was a strange question indeed, but he supposed he knew where this is going. And the answer to that question was already in store in his mind, just waiting for the moment to come out. "Of course not, why would I?" He answered almost instantly, not even bothering to think about the question or the answer.

Do we really need any more explanations? In this place where the word 'existence' or 'perspective' does not exist, what else do you expect would be possible around here? As if things weren't weird enough, I think having your own mind manifesting in human form is actually quite an acceptable form of reality.

"Why...?" A small defeated mutter came from !Seth, his grip on the revolver faltering as he dropping his hands, staring at the ground.

Eh?

It didn't take long for !Seth to explode.

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SO WEAK?! WHY THE HELL CAN'T YOU DO SOMETHING SO SIMPLE?! WHY DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO RELY ON V FOR EVERYTHING?! WHY CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING BY YOURSELF?! IT'S ALWAYS V, HE'S THE STRONG ONE, HE'S THE SMART ONE, HE'S THE COOL ONE, HE'S THE BRAVE ONE, HE'S EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO BE!!! WHY THE HELL MUST A STUPID VIRUS BE BETTER THAN YOU?! I CAN'T STAND IT, EVERY TIME WE'RE IN A PINCH IT'S ALWAYS V WHO FINDS A WAY TO GET US OUT!!! EVERY TIME WE NEED HELP IT'S ALWAYS V WHO SOLVED EVERYTHING!!! HE'S THE ONE WHO BEAT KAIMU'S PRESIDENT, HE'S THE ONE WHO HELPED LEO AND SAVED THE KIDS AT THE HOSPITAL, HE'S THE ONE WHO BEAT THE ICE DRAGON AND HAD THE COURAGE TO KILL JAWS!!! HE'S THE ONE WHO SAVED JAMESON FROM THE BLACK CRYSTAL SKULL!!! HE'S THE ONE WHO BEAT THE ARCHITECT, HE'S THE ONE WHO STOPPED THE ALTERNATE UNIVERSE, HE'S THE ONE WHO DID EVERYTHING AND YOU DID NOTHING!!! HOW THE HELL CAN YOU LIVE BEING OUTSHINED BY A VIRUS LIKE THAT?! ADMIT IT, YOU HATED KNOWING THAT HE'S BETTER THAN YOU AT EVERYTHING!!! YOU HATE HIS EXISTENCE, YOU HATE HIM FOR ROBBING YOU OF YOUR WHOLE LIFE!!! YOU HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM AND YOU WANT HIM GONE!!!"

As much as he wanted to deny it... as much as he wanted to say that his own mind was wrong, he couldn't. Deep down, very deep down, he had to agree. It was... something that had been bothering him for a long time, something that he chose to repress and vault away instead of expressing. It was... the truth. Part of him, hidden in the dark corner of his heart and mind... he wanted V to disappear, just for being better at everything than him. "Just how..." His grip on the firearm slackened, the revolver dropping on the ground with no audible sound, he himself falling to his knees, eyes welling up with tears of pent-up frustration and anger. It may be small, hidden deep within his own mind, unnoticed behind the cheerful exterior of the boy. But if the entire negative feeling had manifested in its own body like this, you can tell that, in actuality, he really was depressed about it. "How could you live like that... someone else using your body, doing things better than you can do... and he took away... your life..." It was weird, seeing him breaking down in such a manner like a child who lost his favorite toy...

But since !Seth is pretty much Seth himself, he knew very well how to console himself.

"So what if he's better than us?"

It wasn't a voice of sternness, nor was it a voice that suggested he was scolding himself. It completely lacks any sense of harshness or disciplinary tone. His voice was instead soft and gentle, full of the kindness Seth was known to have too much of for his own good. He wasn't angry, nor was he disappointed. He simply accepted it. I mean, what's the point of getting mad at yourself? The boy slowly made his way towards his manifested mind, crouching low and leveling himself with him, before going ahead to wrap his arm around him, pulling him in a warm embrace. "Does it really matter? He's still one of us, isn't he? Besides, he's a partner," He said, giving !Seth a small reassuring pat on the back. "I know you meant what you said, but I also meant what I said. Even if V's the most hateful person I know of in this whole world, I would still pick him over anyone else,"

...He couldn't deny it. It was true, no matter how much he hated V... if he were to be separated from him in whatever way, there's no way he'd be able to comprehend it.

Nobody is perfect. That's why you need partners to back you up. And for someone as hopelessly useless, unremarkable in everything from academics, athletics, charm, skills and... pretty much everything like Seth is, having something... someone as perfect as V was a perfect match.

There was no helping it, it's just bad to hold it in. !Seth began to sob uncontrollably on Seth's shoulder, faintly muttering "You idiot..." over and over again, to which Seth simply replied with, "You're an idiot too, you know,"

Goddammit, have we mentioned just how much V hated sentimental stuff like these? Come on, it's making him cry too! Not that he'd admit to it, mind you. "Alright, enough tears, I think we've had enough of them to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool," The metavirus in human form said, loudly clapping his hand, as the two boys, his body and his mind got back up to their feet. "First of all, we need to figure out how to get out of here... Any ideas?"

...

"Come to think of it..." Seth said in nervousness, as his other self glanced around looking for an exit to the place, knowing full well that what they're doing is nothing but futility. Have we even THOUGHT of any way to get out of this predicament?

"Oh, don't worry about it too much. The wizard's doing something about it,"

...As if everything that had happened wasn't shocking enough, this time it certainly stopped everyone's heart out of pure shock. This time it was a voice each and every single one of them knew very well, a voice that they hear every single day, sometimes obnoxiously annoying, sometimes just plain stupid, sometimes reassuring. And when all of them turned around towards the source of the voice, all three of them said in unison, "YOUMA?!"

It was unmistakable. That silvery-gray hair, that green bow on her head, that typical green and white dress she would never not be seen in, the sharp cunning voice despite sounding like any fifteen years old girl, the confident posture... yep. "...What are you guys staring at, it's like you just saw a ghost or something," Well you ARE a ghost. Half-ghost anyway.

"But no, whatever, that's not important! What the hell are you doing here, weren't you supposed to be back at home watching Gokaiger or something?!"

"Don't tell me, this is actually yet another part of your subconscious mind that has something to do with you being a lolicon?"

"That fact was never proven!"

"Oh, but you did say Yuri is cute,"

"Why the hell are you calling yourself a lolicon?!"

"Oh, will the three of you QUIET DOWN?!" And they did. "Sheesh, I can't believe brats these days..." The... supposedly half-phantom muttered in exasperation, scratching her head as she glanced between the three of them. "To prevent any more identity crisis, I'll cut to the chase and just say it right now. Yeah, I'm Youma, but not the Youma you guys know of," The girl said, idly walking around as she explained herself. "You guys remember about my soul being split in half, right? See, I'm her other half,"

A surprisingly long pause followed the revelation, the girl herself a bit taken aback by the quiet stares the three were giving her. Or at least, until another bout of confusion and misunderstandings occurs. "Eeeh?! Wait-wait, if you're her second half... then does this mean we're in afterlife?!"

"You mean we're already dead?!"

"...Dammit, I thought heaven would be nicer than this..."

"NO YOU GUYS ARE NOT DEAD YET, DAMMIT, STOP BEING SO STUPID! And I expected better of the super metavirus who's supposedly better than the host himself!" The half-phantom snapped in aggravation, folding her arms and giving a huff. Damn, and she had to deal with them all the time back on Earth...?

"But... if this isn't the afterlife (because we're not dead yet, according to you), then where is this?"

"No idea,"

"You're not being the slightest bit helpful..."

"I don't intend to, really. I just came here from afterlife to visit you guys for a bit. Don't ask how the pathways to different planes of existence works, I have no idea myself, even after living there for seven hundred years," The half-phantom added the moment she saw all three of them opening their mouth at the same time, undoubtedly hoping to get an answer from her about the deal of inter-worldly traveling.

But obviously talking about the nature of inter-worldly connection is not what she planned to do. The wizard's doing something to fix this and she only has a limited amount of time to actually do whatever she came here to do in the first place. "Well, in any case, I just have one thing to say, Seth," Best make it quick. Apparently whatever this 'wizard' is doing, he's doing his job well. From within the endless infinity of darkness and nothingness cracks and flashes of bright light began to seep through, bringing in warmth and hope from the outside world everyone was so familiar with. "Well, make it quick alright? I don't think we have enough time-"

His sentence was cut short, as he was somewhat forcefully tugged down by the half-phantom's surprising amount of strength in relation to her size by his collar, though he never had the chance to think anything about it before WHAM!!! A fist connected to the side of his head, causing him to see stars as his head throbbed in great pain. "OW!! What the hell was that about--!" his second sentence was also cut short, as the half-phantom once again pulled him back, promptly planting one quick kiss on his lip.

It was... mesmerizing, to say the least. Lasting for a whole second before she pulled away, grinning at the somewhat dazed looking boy as though she had done nothing out of the ordinary. "That punch was from my other half, for leaving her on this mission without telling her anything. The kiss was a good luck charm if she knew, and congratulations, for coming out of everything alive. And thanks. For everything,"

The girl gave one final chuckle before punching him in the guts for no reason whatsoever, pushing him off towards the other two and towards the increasingly blinding light. "Don't forget boy! Everyone's waiting for you back home! You better not forget your promise with me, remember to take me back!" The girl said in a cheerful voice, waving energetically at all three of them before the bright flash of light completely doused everything away.

And before he knew it, Seth was once again walking on the very surface of the earthy Earth, stumbling on the good old ground feeling the pressure of gravity pulling him down to the rocky island of R'lyeh. The boy shuddered in relief, part of him would love to do more than just kiss the ground just for missing it. But not for now, as the gargantuan groan of Cthulhu rocked the air, reminding him of what they still have to do for the moment. It's not over yet. But one thing's for sure, their victory was sealed. "Sure looks like it,"

Standing right besides him was an ethereal existence of... V the metahuman. Pale, barely opaque, looking as frail as a wisp of smoke, but there was no doubt about the true existence of V here. He just... knew it. "I'll be back, boy," The ethereal V gave one fleeting wave of his hand before shooting off into the sky, fusing together with the Persona of every single Arcadians into one massive Persona, Messiah.

Victory sealed.

*Fawning Internally*
Hotaru held on to the hands that tried to choke her. "I... I didn't let you die! I... I couldn't do anything!"
"That's right. You couldn't do anything."
"I was a child! I couldn't swim back then! If I ran to save you, I would have drowned!"
"Is that your excuse, huh!? Who are you trying to convince!?"
"I'm not trying to convince anyone! That's just who I was back then! Someone who couldn't help anyone because I was powerless! But now..."

Hotaru managed to raise up her hands to pry her sister's hands free from her neck, and they slowly parted, much to the specter's surprise!
"I can't blame myself for something I couldn't do back then! I have the responsibility to protect those I love NOW... as myself!"
To her surprise, the specter... smiled.
"... That's right. You are you. Nobody could tell you who you are but yourself."

The ghost allowed Hotaru to release her from her grip. "You've... changed a bit."
"Eh?..."
"The little sister I knew from before would have blamed herself. Now... you've gone beyond that. You've become someone who stand on her own... not as my replacement, but as yourself."
"What do you mean?..."
"Simple..."
The ghost of Otoha approached Hotaru slowly, and transformed from her sister into... herself.
"You've stopped hating yourself. Not entirely, but... it was enough. Enough to keep you strong in this personal hell that you were plunged into."

Suddenly, the darkness began to shake and crumble all around them.
"Oh, it looks like someone's managed to break through it. Perhaps we shall meet again..." the lookalike said as she hugged Hotaru and kissed her forehead.
"... Who are you?"
"I art though... thou art I. When the time is right... we shall meet again..."

When the darkness collapsed, so did the shadow of her other self explode into starlight that was absorbed into a magical sphere. She then looked up just in time to see-
"FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"
"... Oh God, what is going on?"
Hotaru saw all the orbs forming into one single Persona - Messiah. Arcadia's collective Persona.

Is that... a fusion of everybody's Personae? Then wait, where's... where's Onee-chan!?
Just as suddenly as it arrived, so did it suddenly end the battle between Arcadia and the Elder God as Messiah shot right through it, destroying the Elder God as well as it's presence in their plane of existence. And in the distance, as Messiah dissipated along with everyone else's Personae, someone... or something, we're not quite sure, hurtled through the sky like a Angry Marine shooting star from Cthulhu's exit wound.
"-UUUUUUUUUUUCK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

... A yelling shooting star.

"O... Onee-chan!?"

Sploosh.

Otoha, having been exhausted by being forcibly fused as a part of Messiah, literally just floated to the surface face up with a goofy grin on her face. The flight of the troll was such that she was now totally away from everyone else in Ry'leh and was somewhere nearest to the shore where the B.P.R.D. was cheering.
"Yeah... that's right, Elder God!... You... can... SUCK IT!" she managed to yell before letting herself doze off to sleep from sheer fatigue.

"... Fuck yes, I got to... punch him in the face... with everyone else..." Otoha mumbled one more time as the waves drifted her to the shore.

NICE DRIVE!
From over the hill several B.P.R.D. members emerged escorting Sarah Armitage as she dropped the shotgun she was holding; it had long ran out of ammo during the battle at the shore. The smile upon her face was sincere and as she looked from Arcadian to Arcadian she seemed relieve to see nobody was in critical condition. "You should all be proud of yourselves," she spoke addressing all of Fire Division, "No matter what way you want to describe things... you all saved the world today."

"The Bureau is eternally grateful," she added with a sigh of relief, "And we'll always consider Arcadia close allies. If you ever need our assistance in the future you need only but call and I'll do everything in my power to give you the B.P.R.D.'s aid."

"Thanks," Hiro answered as he pushed himself back up to his feet weakly, "But don't discredit your own efforts. If your boys hadn't held down the shore then we more than likely would have been overwhelmed by Deep-Ones and that could have changed the entire battle."

"Still I wonder," Sarah spoke in a softer voice approaching Hiro directly rather than speaking to everyone, "In all the legends we came across... they stated Cthulhu was deathless. I'm relieved honestly, but... I can't help but wonder... did we really defeat Cthulhu or did we only delay the inevitable Fated Day that Rasputin spoke of?"

"It doesn't matter," Hiro answered confidently as he turned his head to gaze with a smile at the members of Fire Division, "If it is true then when that Fated Day comes, Arcadia will be there to stop Cthulhu once more. Again and again, we'll stop it. Even if it's a thousand years from now. Even if I'm no longer leading Arcadia and it has passed to someone else... from this day forward, the Fated Day is over."
