"What?" Complained Zhimeng, "How on Earth am I suppose to fight without looking at the enemy? " As she finds someplace to take cover, "And this headache is insane! Pain~" She complained about the mental pain.
Meamwhile, Thianbang doped on the ground, and for once the two dream agreed, with each other, "Oh dear! How can I shoot at something I can't aim at? This is challenging! And this headache really, really is painful!!!"
As the two girls' aren't really good at handling someone they can't even look at, they both decides to just take cover.

Then Hiro starts casting a spell.
"I have no idea what he's doing, but my gut feeling tells me it's damn dangerous powerful magic attack or some sort, which means it's most likely safest to be some where behind him." Zhimeng commented to herself as she rushed behind Hiro, keeping a 5 meter distance in case the spell has a big area damage.

Then, someone told them they could look at Cthulhu.

"Great!" Commented Thianbang as she starts firing at the Great Old One with her soul weapon machine gun.

"Here goes nothing." Said the other dream as she fused her Solar Qi into her Soul Weapon, before throwing the saber at Cthulhu. "Solar Small Bolt!" She yelled as a flaming ToanSia rocketed by her Solar Small Bolt flies towards the eldritch abomination, if it hits, the solar bolt being fused into the sword will explodes into flames.
And at the same time, she took out her Beretta PX4 Sub Compact and load it with AP rounds, getting ready her next attack.

Bocky caught up with the rest the arcadians and was shocked at the sight of the fog obscured cthulu. It....was....huge! This thing was even bigger then Dagon, and he was pretty big. He heard someone say looking at Cthulu would drive them mad, so he quickly averted his gaze towards the ground.

Usually he would say fighting an enemy you can't see it would be a tough fight, but when the enemy is a giant that rule dosen't apply. It is like shooting the broad side of a barn, its very hard to miss. Bocky pointed his hands in Cthulu's direction and fired four of his beach ball sized blasts at it.

Star collapsed to her knees as the mental pain hit her, holding tightly to her head with both hands. The photomancer's body shook, light pouring out around her as the throbbing in her head intensified. She could feel it inside her mind, her elemental side threatening to break loose, kicking, screaming, clawing at the barriers that held it back. Too much. It was too much. She couldn't hold it for much longer...

"Ah..."

Star let out a gasp and threw her head back, light crackling into existence all around her. Light arced from point to point across her skin like electricity, her eyes slowly changing from violet into pure gold. She could feel the power within her swell up, threatening to burst.

"No..."

Star grit her teeth and sucked in a quick breath, leaning forward and wrapping her arms around herself. She shuddered, her fingers gripping tightly onto her arm and leaving marks on her skin as she tried to get the wayward light under control. No. Not here. She wouldn't lose here. She wouldn't die here, after all of this. She refused.

Star's eyes snapped open, half-covered by her hair. Her left eye was a brilliant shade of gold, her right only starting to change. She took a deep breath and then slowly unwound her arms from around herself, slamming them palm first onto the ground. "TITANIA!" she called.

A flash of light tore the air, shooting up from the floor to high above their heads. The light cleared, revealing Star's persona, the faerie queen Titania.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Star raised her head, staring at her Persona. "Solar Flare," she commanded quietly.

The red-haired maiden raised her spear, and pointed it at Cthulu, her eyes narrowing in determination. Bright light pooled in the round symbol at the base of her spear's blade, twisting and turning. The Persona held the spear in both hands, yelling out a battle cry as the light shot from the tip of the spear, heading straight at the monster and knocking the Persona back in the process.

But Star wasn't done yet. She raised her left arm out in front of her, her trembling hand suddenly steadying as light flooded into her palm, forming the shield Arcturus that was her Soul Weapon. Star propped one end of the shield up on the ground, using it to support herself from her kneeling position as she looked through the shield's rough crystal shape. She grit her teeth against the pain in her head, taking full advantage of Hajime's spell to take aim.

The first time she had done this, it had been against one of Arcadia's own, Chizu Yamamura, for the right to go on this mission. Of course she would use it now.

"I'm not going to let you win," she said quietly. Star looked up, raising her voice. "For as long as I have, I'll protect everything important to me!"

The light in her hand condensed, shooting into the crystal that made up the shield. As it did, it bounced off the crystal's facets, focusing in the center of it. The true nature of Star's Soul Weapon had been revealed. Arcturus wasn't just a shield.

It was a prism.

"GO!" shouted Star, letting the light loose.

A beam of concentrated light shot out from the center of the shield, bright enough to blind anyone who looked directly at it. The light bent the air directly around it into an array of colors, fracturing the surrounding light into its component hues. Star grit her teeth and leaned against Arcturus, watching as the beam shot straight towards the creature.

Chizu hovered in the air above the group, preparing to land. Her eyes widened as Star's attack blitzed through below her, and the aeromancer quickly shielded her eyes with her arm, looking away. She had learned the hard way the last time.

The light cleared, revealing the stark mountain scenery that the Simulation Room had been broadcasting.

Chizu stood in place, breathing heavily, with one arm wrapped around her waist. That had been unexpected. She had had to wrap herself with air to soften the blow, and even then, with her quick reflexes and her mastery of air, she hadn't been able to dodge it. She had closed her eyes at the last moment, and there were still spots behind her eyes.

"Sou ka..." she said, quietly. "So that's its secret..."

Star stood in front of her, breathing hard. The shield was gone now, having disappeared into motes of light. The photomancer's eyes were covered by her hair, and her shoulders heaved with every breath. She looked like she was about to fall over.

The dust cleared, revealing several orbs of light hovering in the air between them, and all trained on Chizu.

Chizu glanced at them, then slowly walked forward, her arms folded. Star stayed still, not moving, even as Chizu stood next to her. The aeromancer raised one hand, placing it on Star's shoulder.

"Enough," she said, quietly. "You proved your point. I won't stand in your way."

She felt Star relax under her hand. Chizu removed it, walking towards the door of the Simulation Room.

Behind her, the orbs of light disappeared.

Star took a deep breath and collapsed onto the ground...

The light from Star's attack cleared. Chizu hovered in the air, a frown on her face as she felt the air rush up to support her. She could feel the energy that had been released earlier. Her eyes widened as she felt it rush through her veins, a grin coming to her face as she lowered her head, her eyes hidden behind her hair.

Well...she couldn't let Star upstage her, could she?

Because she had also made promises. To herself. And to Nickle.

What was it? That she would stain the sky with blood before she allowed herself to fail?

Chizu lifted her head, and the wind and air erupted around her. Air rushed in from all sides, tearing through the stonework of the Tower and opening a clear path to the skies as her element surrounded her. She had never felt this way before--this much power. It felt like she could do what Valefor had asked her to do--level a forest with one breath. It was intoxicating and thrilling.

And she was about to unleash it.

The mass of air she had accumulated around her circled around Cthulu, surrounding it.

And then it began to slice.

She had originally based this technique off of the kamaitachi, the mythical wind weasels that gave their victims minor cuts that caused intense pain before disappearing. It was the technique she had used on Kinclex writ large--whereas that technique had only been enough to cut through clothing and cause minor damage, these blades were individually easily twice her size, and had enough strength behind them to cut through stone and steel. They worked in controlled chaos, cutting, slicing, and twisting.

NICE DRIVE!
As everyone gained the same sight Masamune imparted to its wielder they could hear the voice of the legendary blade echoing in their mind as if subduing the throbbing pain, "There is nothing with existence that is not composed of the threads of fate. Take my sight, Arcadia, and with it CUT US A PATH TOWARDS TOMORROW!"

As this occurred the giant stone ship smashed into Cthulhu and though it did little to outright harm the beast it managed to stagger it back giving the few seconds it spent on recovering its balance and staying upright as the perfect window of opportunity for the Arcadians to begin their assault. The flames from Sol's spell engulfed Cthulhu setting the giant abomination ablaze. Everyone would sense a scream of pain within their mind as Cthulhu cried out not physically but mentally.

This entrapment of flames was merely the start of things, however. One by one the various blades of Meglumar joined by Masamune itself began to slash and cut at the eldritch horror. This was followed by Gallant who thrusted forth with his lance piercing a small hole through the very chest of Cthulhu. This hole was then struck by none other than Seth and V who began to spin as fast as possible drilling through to not only further injure Cthulhu but widen the mortal wound in the beast's body. As the streak of pure green spiral energy exploded from Cthulhu's back it seemed as if the beast might split in half at any moment.

Damon, as Ryuga followed up next, unleashing at first a black sphere firing off bolts of energy scorching each half of Cthulhu. All the while the monstrous entity continued to roar in pain within the minds of all those present. However, Arcadia was too determined at this point. Even with the mental assault, they refused to back down. Ryuga tossed its blade forth into the cloud it had formed and as this combination rushed on towards Cthuhu itself severing many more threads and by this point Cthulhu itself was only being held together by a single thread.

One by one each attack continued coming perfectly timed back to back giving Cthulhu no time to even begin a counter attack. Descending from the sky having leapt from some of the debris being shot in every direction now came Shad wielding Excalibur in the hopes to strike Cthulhu's heart. As Shad descended like a powerful anvil the wings of light emerged from Excalibur itself as it spoke for the first time mumbling as if it had been in a slumber, "What a fool~ Young Master, I bestow upon you all my power to bring an end to this horrible night!" Shad then became enveloped in an aura of white light as the two descended and strike Cthulhu near its heart. This strike made the final critical strike on the central area of Cthulhu's body and thus severed the final thread there. Cthulhu itself was cleaved in half by Arcadia's efforts.

As the two halves of Cthulhu began to fall to each side a hail of arrows charged with Spiral Energy began to blast through from Lucidus. Each one striking one of the halves and drilling through to the other side until what remained of Cthulhu seemed more like swiss cheese than any sort of actual creature. Adding to this ranged assault came various fire from Thiabang and ki blasts from Bocky. Each shot striking one of the two halves of Cthulhu and decimating the remains further.

Next came Star unleashing her persona, Titania, and sending forth powerful bolts of lightning that re-ignited the flames across each half of Cthulhu that Hajime's persona had originally begun. However, Star was not done. Using her own shield as means to refract her light powers the girl fired a powerful beam of concentrated energy. The massive beam engulfed Cthulhu's right arm erasing it from existence and returning it to the oblivion the horror had crawled out of.

As if this weren't enough, Chizu had spent the entire time of the back to back assault accumulating energy in the sky. The air around Cthulhu's remains turned inward on itself targeting the monster and powerful slashes of wind began to hack apart what was left making Cthulhu become a gruesome sight at this point; it hardly resembled the powerful foe that had emerged from the smokey ruins of its tower.

One by one each attack was tearing apart Cthulhu at its very essence of being. Each thread that bound its existence was being severed and as each thread snapped the beast was torn asunder. The scene was gruesome and yet magnificent. Seeing what was going on and hearing Hajime's words Hiro stopped his chant and the spell circle vanished beneath his feet. "Heh," Hiro laughed as he crossed his arms, "I guess a sacrifice isn't needed any more to fix the big problems. You've come so far... my Arcadia."

As the dust settled nothing remained of the alien being known as Cthulhu. It held an amazing power of regeneration, but you could not regenerate from nothing. Behind the group a loud thud echoed out and anyone looking back would see Durandal standing triumphant atop a felled Dagon which was slowly decaying. Was it over? The power of courage and the infinite potential of humankind had fought back against the overwhelming doom and pushed things back from the edge of defeat.

Suddenly, a loud crack echoed through the skies. And then another. Yet there was nothing to be seen. It was as if something were splitting, but what was it? Then, all at once, from where Cthulhu had stood a giant rip tore through not just the sky and the ground, but it seemed as if it was tearing through reality itself. Slowly, the tear began to open and its edges cracked flaking off and flowing through the opening that was emerging.

Those that gazed upon the opening would see beyond for a mere second before their body's natural instinct for survival kicked in forcing them to turn their gaze. Through this opening floated various objects of non-euclidean shape which were all swirling in an infinite cosmos that seemed to stretch onward to infinity. From within the opening a malicious groan was not just heard, but also felt in the mind of every person present on the island.

Slowly, as if lurching forward from some deep slumber a giant green webbed-hand, itself as big as the island they were on, emerged from the spiraling depths and clutched the edge of the opening as if trying to brace itself to begin pulling the rest of its body through. The design of the frightening appendage was unmistakable; it was Cthulhu.

"What the!?" Hiro exclaimed as the scene unfolded before him. Grasping up Tyrfing he began to rush ahead approaching the opening at full blast. The Fire Division had its moment to shine, but it seemed the fight wasn't over. He knew most of them had to be very tired from unleashing such powerful attacks so it only felt right for him to take the lead this time; he too had been infused with the Spiral Energy of course. However, after taking a few steps it began to feel as if he were sinking into the very ground itself.

"What's going on!?" Hiro cried out as his movement was stopped. The second he began to feel this sensation he could the feel the surging power of Spiral Energy exit his body. The ground all around him had turned into a pool of blackness and like quicksand was slowly swallowing him. The last thing Hiro saw before vanishing into the darkness was the same type of phenomenon happening to the other Arcadians.

=====

It was darkness; endless darkness. Hiro felt as if he were sinking slowly in some sort of black ocean. Shutting his eyes he felt as though he could sense the other Arcadians around him in this dark place. However, as he began to try and move it seemed like he made no progress in any direction. It was as if each member of Arcadia that had been on the island was now isolated and imprisoned in their own little cell.

"Damon! Lucidus! Star! Lavender!" Hiro called out thinking of the first names to come to mind, "Anyone!? Can you guys hear me!?" The message was going out both vocally and over the Arcadian Link, but no one would be reached by his voices. As he sank deeper into this black ocean it seemed as though he saw people coming into view before him.

"You couldn't save me..."

Hiro's eyes widened in shock as he began to have a vision. It was Kurei. She seemed to be standing in an alleyway frightened as she realized it was a dead end. From the shadows at the other edge of the alley emerged several men well dressed in black tuxes. With zero remorse the gang of Wo-Shing thugs raised their guns and fired a hail of bullets riddling Kurei in the most gruesome death possible.

"Why didn't you save me?"

Hiro tried to look away, but everywhere he turned the visions continued. He saw Cain during their first battle in Hyakuji on the roof of the school. The young Night Breed he had been trying to protect caught between their battle as the vampire ran her through with no remorse and then cleaved her in half.

"Did you just give up on me?"

The scene then changed to the day many in Hyakuji had banded together under Hiro and Jameson's leadership to oust Wo-Shing from the city. He saw Rozanny making her final stand to protect the organization as Nickle ran her through and killed her accepting there was no other alternative. He turned away from the scene with guilt. Not just for Rozanny's death, but also knowing that he could never blame Nickle for his decision; Hiro had become resolved to the same point.

"Please Hiro, tell me why!? Why did it have to be her? Why Lillian..."

"Of all the people possible... why do you pick that failed experiment? Why Kurei?"

"Stop it!" Hiro cried out into the black ocean he continued to seek deeper in, "I don't want to see any more! Please!"

"Can we really trust Arcadia to a leader that abandons his followers for personal matters?"

"Why didn't you save me?"

You always let us down...

"Why, Hiro?"

Hiro cried out in a mix of frustration and despair as tears began to stream down his cheeks. Coinciding with this he began to hear another voice within the black ocean beyond the visions he kept having. It was mad and cackling laugh. It was a familiar laugh.

"Hahahaa!" the voice cried out as slowly Rasputin formed into view before Hiro Tsukasa, "HUAAAHAHAH! Tell me, Sorcerer, when you really think about it... who is the real villain here!?"

"Rasputin!" Hiro voiced in shock as he gritted his teeth in frustration.

Did you learn nothing in your research about Cthulhu, boy?

"What do you mean?" Hiro asked shaking his head in disbelief, "And why are you here!? We saw you die at Hellfire Manor!"

I am merely a servant to Its will! If I am called for a purpose then I shall appear. I gave away my humanity so long ago. Did you know... once awakened Cthulhu manifests itself in the form of an Avatar to utilize its powers on the world it has been called to.

"No..." Hiro mumbled in despair as he realized immediately what the Mad Monk was implying.

DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD SO EASILY KILL AN ENTITY AS POWERFUL AS CTHULHU!?

Hiro remained speechless unable to ever muster the will to give some sort of retort to Rasputin's claim. As the dialogue continued the two opposing forces continued sinking within the black ocean.

Arcadia should be commended. Even stopping the Avatar of Cthulhu should be considered a lofty achievement. But in its death you merely acted to fully rouse the interest of the real deal. Aware of his opposition he has come to cast your entire world to share in the fate you're experiencing now! Don't you get it, Hiro Tsukasa? Cthulhu is much more than you ever conceived!!!

"This can't be happening..." Hiro muttered totally lost now. It was as if every second within the ocean of infinite blackness had been slowly draining him of all his willpower.

And the best part... is this was all thanks to you, Hiro Tsukasa. I waited for years and years for the proper target. The perfect conduit of magical energy to grant me the power needed to rouse Cthulhu from his slumber. They needed to be perfect; and you were. Powerful enough to channel a vast quantity of magical power but with a heart cast both with goodness and evil.

Cthulhu has awakened thanks to your existence and the choices you have made up to this day. You are responsible, Hiro Tsukasa! Without you, NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE!!!

Rasputin's rant continued on, but Hiro remained in silence. He could not even muster the courage to talk back at this point. Deep down, he realized what the Mad Monk was saying held truth in it. If he had been a different person, made different choices, then perhaps they wouldn't be in this hopeless situation.

CTHULHU IS MORE THAN A MONSTER

MORE THAN AN ALIEN

MORE THAN A GOD

HE WAITS AND EXISTS FOREVER

BEYOND SPACE

BEYOND TIME

BEYOND EVEN DEATH ITSELF!

Hiro Tsukasa was sinking, sinking deeper into the black ocean. An ocean of despair and loneliness that would slowly consume the entire Earth itself and all humanity. He knew that, elsewhere in the darkness, each Arcadian had to be experiencing visions and sensations much like his own. Though each would be tailored to most perfectly isolate the individual Arcadian and drive them into loneliness and despair.

Each second kept in this eternal sea of despair would slowly drain them on their will. It was now the fate of humanity. It would take some time before the expanding influence reached actual cities with people in them due to R'lyeh's remote location, but the situation was now inevitable.

Accept you fate, Hiro Tsukasa... Arcadia... Humanity! Welcome the eternal oblivion Cthulhu brings to your world!

Know fear!

Know sadness!

Know loneliness!

Look up within this dark ocean praying to see the heavens once more and...

Everyone was gone.

Damon looked about the endless void of nothingness. There was nothing. Not even darkness, not even light. This place was empty. Completely empty. This place...where was it? What just happened? They were fighting Cthulhu and then....But...He...No. Something was wrong. They had killed the monster but it had just returned...or did it? Right now it was so hard to think...

He turned his head, looking around, before suddenly a figure came into view. No, 2 figures. One was a slender, almost sickly looking woman, with hair as white as snow and piercing red eyes, dressed in a simple white long sleeved shirt and blue pants. The other was a larger man, a fair bit of muscle on him and a brimmed hat, the brim obscuring his eyes. Blonde hair was visible beneath the hat, a brown coat and slacks worn by him.

No...No, these were...his parents...

...This was impossible. It was a trick. They were dead, he saw them die, he was there, they were-

"Merry Christmas, Damon~" The woman said, eyes closed with a smile on her face

...No...

"C'mon, son, let's head to the room. We've got a surprise for you." The man said, looking down to his sun, Damon being able to see his green eyes clearly, a small grin on his face.

Oh god no not this, not again!

In an instant, the two were engulfed in flames, burning away into ashes before his very eyes, the heat just as intense as it was that night. Why did this...Who was doing this!? Who was forcing this back into his mind!?

The burning light of the fire faded, and as it did, he found himself surrounded by corpses. All of them members of his family now long dead, all of them as dead the day he had found them. The already pale man paled further, trying to turn away from the sights but it was everywhere. All around them was death. Voiceless words called out to him, begging for salvation....salvation he could not bring...

He finally just closed his eyes, and for a few moments he was alright. Until...

"Damon~"

...Oh jesus. no.

Damon opened his eyes, suddenly finding himself back in the old abandoned house. Staring forward. He saw Kaede, garbed in her Miko garb. This was the night. This was the night she was kidnapped. This was the night she was tortured and turned against him. She fired a water arrow, striking him clear in the shoulder and nailing him to a wall.

"Why did you let them do this? Why couldn't you have protected me better?" The girl asked as she drew near, staring at him with the same eyes as back then. He was struggling to escape. He could fight back, but....But....

And then the scene changed again. The world was....different...No...He...He was seeing the world differently. He was back in the void, but, it just...looked different.

"Tou-san!"

Damon turned, seeing Kage. Oh please god. Not her. Please tell him she didn't follow him HERE? He held out a hand towards his elemental, before realizing his hand was not his own. He was changed. Back to his elemental form, from that year of hell. "Tou-san's back to his old self. Neh, neh, maybe Kage didn't do anything. Maybe it was just Tou-san being Tou-san. Maybe he was just a Heartless all along?~" The elemental girl asked, tilting her head as she charged at him, wielding a scythe. A very familiar scythe. The same one he used to strike down a nobody.

After being slashed across the chest, he found himself crashing into a bookshelf, back in his human form. He looked about, seeing Sagi just sitting on a chair, kicking her legs back and forth. "Haaaah....Damon-kun's in such bad shape. He can't protect himself, so how can he protect any of his friends or Sagi?" The rabbit girl asked, before a shadowed figure formed behind her and struck at her, blood splashing onto him, his eyes wide in just pure horror.

And then it all started up again. Right from the beginning.

"Merry Christmas, Damon~"
"C'mon, son."
"Damon~"
"Tou-san!"

Over and over the scenes played, each time going faster and faster until finally, they all seemed to say at once;

"Why couldn't you save us?"

Damon fell to his knees, his eyes shut, tears streaming down his face. This...This couldn't be real. It wasn't possible. Someone was doing this, something was. No. He couldn't give up. He couldn't let himself be stopped by whatever this was....he couldn't...

"...I....can't...stop..." He said reaching into his pocket and removing his pocket watch and opening it, staring at it as he did so.

"I...made....a...promise..."

This void that he was in was neverending, it just went on and on and on and on and on. Lucidus couldn't see an end to it all. He was just surronded by nothingness. Nothing at all.

Lucidus growled in frustration, they were winning they had destroyed Cthulu. At least that's what they thought. He then came out of the portal or something else strange, Lucidus didn't know how the hell that worked but what he did know was now he couldn't see anyone and he highly doubted he could contact them over the Arcadian link.

He continued floating through the void of nothingness, it was a strange feeling he didn't feel like he could walk in it and he probably couldn't so he didn't bother trying. As he floated through the void eventually he came across several bodies. He recognized them, it was his fellow Arcadian members. This was impossible, it couldn't be them they were to strong to be beaten. Lucidus was sure of this, he knew that if Arcadia had pooled it's strength together the were impossible to beat them.

Lucidus just sat there in the middle of all the corpses of his fellow team. How, even Lucidus had truely believed that they were invincible. So how did something beat them. It was then that Fenrus walked up to him, Lucidus spoke up. " What the hell? I havn't called you." The wolf simply ignored Lucidus and what he was saying, he walked amongst the corpses before looking back at Lucidus. "How could you do this, How could you do this to them? THEY TRUSTED YOU AND YOU KILLED THEM." Fenrus then ran towards Lucidus with his fangs bared jumping at him, turning to dust when he collided.

Lucidus started at where Fenrus was in shock, he didn't do this. He held up his hands near his head only to notice that they were coated in blood, and since he himself hadn't been wounded the only other blood it could be was that of his team mates. "No........ No, It can't of been me. I would of remembered it. It wasn't me." Lucidus said shocked at the whole situation.

Lucidus started crying, it couldn't of been him. It couldn't of.... could it? Suddenly all the images disappeared and they were fighting Cthulu. Except Lucidus could see himself, he wasn't there, well more specifically he was just an observer of the fight. All of the Arcadians had just finished the fight with the avatar of Cthulu. Hiro was congratulating all of them and that was when Lucidus, not the one watching but the one who he assumed was some sort of other self, cut down Hiro. Blood spilled everywere while the other Arcadians began to question what the hell he was doing.

Before they could react however (Other)Lucidus had began to cut them all down. Each of them to tired to properly react. First Seth, "No, don't show me this. I couldn't of done this." then Damon, "No, I respect them to much I can't have done this, I couldn't." then Selene, (Other)Lucidus was performing what could only be described as a dance of death, moving gracefully and at a speed that Lucidus was pretty sure was beyond him. Lashing out at each of his team members with his blade, watching them all fall to the ground bloody. "STOP SHOWING ME THIS." Lucidus yelled at the images. It was then that (Other)Lucidus walked up to him. "This was all our fault, don't you feel happy?"

Lucidus looked at his other. "Why, why are you showing me this?" (Other)Lucidus laughed. "You just don't get it do you. No matter what pretence you hide it under, your still a murderer, did you not think for one second that those monsters that your so fond of killing don't have people who they are important to." Lucidus looked at his other just blnakly, how was he supposed to no if they had people important to them.

They were just monsters weren't they. "Your probably telling yourself that they were just monsters arn't you." (Other)Lucidus said laughing as Lucidus stared at him in shock. "Hey it's not that suprising, we have the same mind." (Other)Lucidus said before he began to smile and laugh maniaclly.

"Have fun with the recording, I wonder who is the monster now." With that (Other)Lucidus vanished and the whole thing began to repeat itself. Over and over and over and over. "No, no. STOP MAKING ME WATCH THIS." Lucidus yelled as the vision continued to repeat. He couldn't of really killed the whole of the Arcadian fire division... could he? "This can't be real, I couldn't of killed them all regardless of how tired they were, they would of stopped me. SO STOP SHOWING ME THIS." Lucidus yelled at the visions, no reply came of course as the visions kept repeating, over and over and over again.

"We can see now? Good..." Lavender remarked as she removed her blindfold just in time to witness Cthulhu lashing out at her with a tentacle. "Cause' this just makes turning you into fried calamari all the more satisfying!" And with a whoosh and a lavender-colored blur the aeromancer was gone, sidestepping the attacking pseudopod with inhuman ease as her right arm swirled with air, slashing upwards with her hand open - stirring up a pressurized stream of air with her motion that streaked towards the tentacle, severing it.

Then came what appeared to be the grand finale as the Arcadians cut loose on Cthulhu, bringing out their best against the Great Old One as attack after attack rained upon its form, and now thanks to gaining Masamune's sight they struck at the very threads of Cthulhu's essence, taking apart the Great Old One bit by bit... until Cthulhu was no more. "Right ho! That's Arcadia for you! Arcadia: 1 Eldritch Abomination: NIL!" Lavender cheered after Hiro's little speech.

And for a moment they thought it was over, but it wasn't...

"What? Where am I?" Lavender blinked in disbelief as she found herself in totally different surroundings. It was an island alright, but it certainly wasn't Ry'leh. "This can't be!" the aeromancer exclaimed as she first noticed the ruined buildings that surrounded her, before noticing right in front of her was a dilapidated remnants of a sculpture of the SEED Institute's plaque. Wasn't this the ruins of the old SEED Institute? How did she get here?

"What manner of trickery is this!?" Lavender demanded, raising her left fist as the air around her swirling around before enveloping her in a furious lavender-colored cyclone while her free hand went instinctively for her MP7A1. "Good lord... no..." the aeromancer gasped as she noticed an all-too-familiar figure walking towards her. "D-Dr... Möbius?" the aeromancer gasped in disbelief as he walked right up to her, seemingly unaffected by the maelstrom.

"But it can't be... you're..." the aeromancer stammered as the winds surrounding her died down.

"Dead?" The elderly scientist and founder of the OASIS Foundation, headmaster of the SEED Institute and the guy who started it all said as he tilted his head slightly. "People died here, you know," he commented as he rested his hands on his cane, taking in his surroundings casually, and speaking in a casual manner like as if he were making an everyday comment like how fair the weather was. or how beautiful the sunset was and such.

"But... didn't they all make it off the island?" Lavender asked shakily, wondering where all of this was leading to.

"Oh come on, do you really think everyone was able to escape? There simply wasn't enough time for that many to evacuate in such short order," Dr. Möbius continued as he turned his back away from Lavender.

And in a flash, the aeromancer saw herself, or rather, herself when she was still a student back at the Institute, replaying scenes of her past when she was under the tutelage of the Founding Trio, as she found herself in the middle of a coaching session, as Prof. Munchausen was training a then-adolescent Lavender to better control her then-fledgling powers, in her favorite garden at the old SEED institute, although like an apparition from another time line, Lavender was invisible and intangible to all those in the scene as the past replayed itself. "You were certainly close to him, weren't you?" Lavender turned around to see Dr. Möbius right beside her as the scenes from her past continued to replay themselves.

"You do know of what he was planning, do you not?" Dr. Möbius inquired, gazing sternly at Lavender in the eye as he pushed his gold-rimmed round glasses up his nose. "Why did you not tell us? Do you know how many deaths you could've prevented?" How Dr. Möbius knew her most personal secret, one that she'd never revealed to anyone, wasn't important. But what was most important right now was that here she was, staring face to face with one of her greatest failures. But there was still more...

"No more... please..." Lavender stammered as she found herself in the middle of the assembled crowd at Traverse Town as she and Hiro began to address the Arcadians just before their final strike against Organization XIII. "When I first took up the reins of leadership for Arcadia in Tsukasa-san's stead I had made a vow that it is my duty to keep all of you safe and sound until the Heartless threat is ended and the multiverse restored to its original state. I regret to say this, that I have failed in this regard." Lavender heard her own, original message to the Arcadians as her past self addressed the crowd.

"To think I had such high hopes in you, to think we believed in you," Dr. Möbius said as he shook his head, and now standing on either side of him were Jameson and Thifax- no, Faith - both bloody and still bearing the wounds that they succumbed to. And it was at this point that the crowd all turned towards Lavender as her past self appeared frozen in time, all glaring at her - Erin, Hiro, Chizu, Star, Meglumar, Damon, Selene, Oliver, Yumi, all of them - joining Dr. Möbius in repeating the previous line, everyone whom the aeromancer thought had been let down by her in one form or another.

"Stop! Make it stop!" Lavender blubbered semi-coherently as she tried to avert their gazes as the flashbacks played themselves over and over again, before the very reality around her seemed to crack and shatter and the aeromancer found herself falling through a black void. "Stop MESSING WITH MY MIND!" the normally-composed aeromancer howled as she continued to fall, tucking her head into her arms as she balled up into a fetal position while the voices continued to rant over and over again.

One does not simply eat one packet of mee goreng
The boy gave a massive groan of relief as he dropped off Yama no Ki to the ground, the large log itself seeming to simply disappear from existence without the tiniest trace to signify that it was there before. Except of course, the lumpy remains of the Old One that doesn't seem to be regenerating again any time soon. Or ever. "Feh... can't believe we did it..." Seth said, slumping to the ground with a sigh, lying on the ground and staring at the somewhat calm sky. Seriously... it all felt too peaceful for some reason. But then again, considering that they had just been roasting, tearing and drilling the hell out of some eldritch abomination just seconds ago...

...Although. Things just doesn't feel right. No, not for Seth. It's for the metavirus in him. Things seemed fine and dandy for now but... "V? What's the matter, you've been awfully quiet," The boy asked, seemingly worried about V's lack of energy.

For a whole worrisome minute V doesn't seem to be responding, staying ominously quiet before he finally spoke. I... dunno... He said in a small cracking voice, apparently choosing his words very carefully. Or was he simply struggling to speak? Well whatever the case he ceased to speak again after that. There was a moment of concerned silence between the two...

Before everything started-

All of a sudden a thunderous crack ripped through the sky, shattering through the barrier of sound and splitting apart not just the sky and the ground, but the very fabric of existence itself. Reality seemed to break down as a massive chasm began to carve itself with an ear-splitting scream from the opening, exposing everyone within the wide vicinity to a dimension that was practically made of non-euclidean physics, vastly spread over a seemingly infinite plane of darkness with no perceptible end or edge. A wicked roar suddenly came from the unidentified plane of existence, that seemed to not only crush the eardrums of everyone hearing it, but seemingly ravaging the minds of those listening to it as well.

"What in the name of..."
Seth muttered in horror, forcing himself back up to his feet, raising his arm to shield himself from the destruction that was unfolding in front of him. What... what the hell is going on?! They've defeated Cthulhu, what else do they have to deal with?!

Geh...!

"...V?"

Ergh... D-damn...! DA--AAGH!

"V, What's going on?!"

I'm... don't wor- ALRIGHT I'm fine-! NO! No please.... stop... NOT possible--
I haven't had enough! STOP, DON'T THINK LIKE--want... more! Murder? What's murder, I'm just doing my- -thing's have taken too long- -I'm a killer... a natural killer- just a virus, not worth living- -HOW CAN YOU LOVE, YOU'RE JUST A VIRUS- -I'm not... fine... Seth...- -Look, this is only a prototype, you can't really expect it to- -Seth! You know what. Let's get things straight. You're nothing more than a super biological weapon. What the hell are you doing living like a human being- - - - SEEETH!!!

And then the Great Old One himself appeared.

-and ended.

*

...

...

...

It was dark. Too dark. Seth Ryouga couldn't see anything. Turn left, turn right, look up and down, behind him... there's nothing. It's not as dark as though he was standing inside a dark room, nor was it as dark as though he was just closing his eyes. No. This is... complete and total darkness where there's not even a single particle of photon to be found. He could feel his eyes moving around desperately looking, desperately trying and failing to catch at least a single shred of light, his eyelids closing and opening rapidly, making sure it's not him who had gone blind instead. "H-hello...?" He said, raising a hand to feel around his surrounding, being able to touch nothing, not even the air itself, despite how frantically he flailed his arms around. "Hello?!" His voice was raised, starting to feel panic after his first call went unanswered for a while. There was no echo, no reverberation, no damping. It was as though his voice could only be heard by him, in his own head. He could feel the air exiting his lung as he made his call, but it was about as useless as trying to yell while underwater. "Anyone?! Selene?! Hiro, Meg, Lucidus?" The boy began to step forward. One by one, he stepped forward. He's moving forward, he could feel it, but the absence of the pressure underneath his feet made him feel like he might fall down to the unknown dark abyss at any time. "Hey, if you can hear me, scream! Or... I dunno, do anything! You're there right? Come on! Knock knock!"

"Who's there?"

He stopped in his track. He stopped shouting for the others. He stopped moving around, heck, he probably even stopped breathing there for a moment. There was... someone. Right behind him. It was someone he knew so very well, someone whose voice he could hear even in his sleep. The voice of someone who never leaves his side no matter what the situation. In fact, it's the very voice that's in his own head. But... instead of feeling relief... he's feeling... afraid. He couldn't... explain why but... he dreaded turning around... for some reason. The voice was... so familiar, yet at the same time so... foreign. It's the voice he hears everyday, but... it's a voice he had never heard of in his entire life.

He gulped. He was frozen in his act, unwilling to turn around, and at the same time very curious, and very desperate. He couldn't bear staying here in the darkness all the time, but he fears what he would find if he decided to turn around. Goddammit... will he ever stop being indecisive?!

...Yes, he did turn around, but he did not turn around by his own choice.

Oh.

Goddammit. He knew it would be bad.

Right now he's looking at... himself.

"What, not gonna finish the joke?" ...Himself(?) spoke in a strangely high and casually cheerful voice, his arms folded, switching his weight from one leg to the other. This... person... looks exactly just like him. Black sweater, cargo pants, long and sleek jet back hair, a somewhat small body frame... It was as though Seth was staring at a mirror... But he knew very well... he's not look THAT happy. And... there was something off with this doppelganger... this person standing in front of Seth Ryouga... can't be Seth Ryouga. "...V?"

It was the first thought that came to Seth's mind, and it elicited a surprised look from !Seth before he roared in laughter, doubling over and slapping his knees, completely caught up in hysteria. Seth couldn't help but back away cautiously, staring at his double with a slight bit of fear in his eyes. "Hah... aha... oh dear, you're good..." !Seth said, finally managing to regain his composure, wiping the tears from his eyes as he straightened himself up, coughing slightly as he returned his attention to Seth. "Right, uh... you meant that stupid virus? Yea... no. I don't know what you're talking about,"

Don't know what he's talking... "Wait, V! Don't play around!" The boy shouted, if not in desperation then in terror. "If that's you then just say it! What the hell happened?! Just moments ago we were at R'lyeh and we defeated Cthulhu! Everything was supposed to go back to the way it was!"

"Then I'm afraid you will need your head fixed, brat!" !Seth snapped. Sudden coldness shot past Seth, the sharp glare of his eyes piercing through Seth like x-ray, the sudden lack of smile on !Seth's face was eerily ominous. The sudden silence itself doesn't even feel like silence. The sudden silence felt more like a gargantuan sword with the edge thinner than a hair's width cleaving through the air itself. There was... no doubt. This kind of atmosphere, this kind of aura... only V could... "What... what do you mean... V, tell me what's going-"

"V, V, V, V, V!!!" !Seth roared angrily, heatwave of fury seemed to explode from each and every single one of his veins, ripples of his raw anger could be felt despite the lack of anything around them to actually be felt. Seth himself unconsciously cowered at the unexpected uproar, taking even more steps back from the doppelganger. "Goddammit, why the hell are you talking as though this 'V' dude even exist?!"

Wait... what? "Then... then what do you-" He started, shakily trying to get the question quickly out of his mind but he was immediately interrupted. "I'll tell you what I mean!" !Seth began advancing forward, faster than Seth could back off. And before he could even say the word 'cheese' !Seth was already upon Seth, teeth baring in a wicked grin, eyes sharper than that of an eagle, the two of them were staring at each others' eyes, one filled with malice, one filled with nothing but terror.

"It's all in your head boy,"

Of course he wouldn't believe it. Why would he believe it? First time hearing it he probably didn't even know what his doppelganger is talking about. The boy blinked in confusion, fruitlessly trying to absorb the six words into his head to get a meaning from it. "What... what are you talking..." He said shakily, not even daring to move back anymore, and instead stared back into the doppelganger eyes, incapable of hiding the fear behind it.

"What am I... oh that has GOT to be the most cliched question ever!"!Seth yelled in amusement, backing of and laughing as he threw his hands in the air, as though enjoying the scenario where Seth was being tossed around in the dark without a single clue of what's going on. But that's not the end of it. His satisfaction wouldn't stop at just that. "I mean... boy, are you sure?! You seriously don't know?"

His question was answered with a hesitant shake of the head from Seth. For a moment there there was silence, slowly followed by an angry growl from !Seth as the grin faded slowly from his face. "Alright... alright, I'll tell you since you're too stupid too figure it out on your own," !Seth said, running a hand through his hair in exasperation. "Boy, there's no such thing as this... 'V',"

And as usual, denial kicks in. Seth, hearing it very clearly but refusing to allow the single sentence to pass through his ears to enter his brain said, "Wha-" But before he could even say another word, "GODDAMMIT, STOP BEING SO SLOW!!! THERE IS NO V, THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANY V!! That virus... you know that damn virus in you? IT'S JUST A VIRUS!!! IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD, HOW THE HELL CAN A VIRUS HAVE ITS OWN CONSCIOUSNESS?! THAT'S JUST RIDICULOUS THAT'S JUST STUPID!!!"

Of course, Seth himself is still refusing to accept all this despite his eardrums being POUNDED by the roar of the doppelganger. The boy was standing there besides himself, trying with a horrified look on his face to digest whatever sort of hellish revelation was being thrown at him. Which to him sounded like a whole load of bullshit. How... just how can there not be any V? Then whose voice was it in his head that he had been talking to all these years? Who was it in his head that had been craving for a mug of hot chocolate every night due to an unfortunate level of obsession and liking for it? Who was it that had been taking control of his body every now and then for various kind of entertainment like playing games or sexually harassing girls, or during emergency life or death situation when two minds in a fight is always better than one? Who was it that had been solving cases for the WDA, where Seth himself would take all the credit? Who was it that had nearly killed Jameson in an attempt to heal him? Who was it that had a subtle hidden feeling of fondness for Robyn? Who was it that managed to fight on par with Selene's wyvern with his bare hand? Who was it that defeated the Architect back then in the underground factory under the donut shop? Who was it that piloted the Hyakuzor and managed to severely damage King Kaimu? Who was it that had enough initiative to kill Agent Jaws to stop the possessed ice dragon Amourette? Who was it that killed the fake Jameson to destroy the alternate universe caused by Elias? Who was it that used IXA's Final Rising Blast to completely reduce one of the Crowley brothers to smithereens? Who was it... who... who was it that...

"All you," Muttered !Seth calmly, the malicious grin reappeared on his face. "All of them. Your feat. Your successes. Your victory. Your actions. Your sins. Each and every single one of them. All yours,"

No way... that... that can't be right... Seth staggered backwards, his hand rising to grasp his head, staring at !Seth as though he was a madman. "You're... you're raving... you're bluffing..."

"HOW CAN I BE BLUFFING BOY, I'M YOU!!! Look at me! I can't lie to myself now can I! I'm just telling things the way it is! You can't run away from reality boy, this is what it is! Think about it, it's already dumb and stupid enough to believe that a virus would actually have its own conscience! Even more stupid for you to think that it's something... HUMAN! Oh that part cracks me up the most! Just accept it boy! This is your own body, everything you did were all with your own two hands! I seriously find it funny... blaming all those kills you made with your own two hands to that imaginary friend of yours. It's such a convenient excuse, isn't it?"

No... no, don't call it an excuse... it was... it was all V! He's the one who did it, he's the one who controlled Seth, making him do all those stuff!

"But it's still your hands, right?" !Seth refuted yet again, the vicious smile never leaving his face. "You're happy to do it, you don't have any remorse doing it. You have no fear, you have no hesitation, everything was done at that exact moment without any second thoughts whatsoever. But WHATEVER. Is it really that bad?"

What... what are you implying? What do you MEAN IT'S NOT BAD?! You mean... this whole year... all this time he had... all his...

He couldn't comprehend it. There's no way he could accept it. "V?! V, come on! If you're here answer me!" He yelled frustratingly at no one in particular, grasping his head tighter than before, attempting his hardest to feign deafness of !Seth's maniacal laughter. "HAAAAHAHAH! Try as you might boy, there is no such thing as 'V' in this world!"

This is seriously wrong. The very existence in this world that he trusted the most... never existed in the first place?

Ryo was suddenly trapped in darkness. He could sense the other but he could not hear a thing.

The heck is going on? We killed that old fart! What the heck is happening now?

I don't-

"Well well well....If it isn't my younger brother. The boy who was cursed, but favored by his parents,"a familiar voice said.

Ryo turned (or he thought he did. It was hard to tell anything in the blackness) and saw someone he had thought he'd never see again. Norair Yansaki. His older brother who had been devoured by the Heartless and turned into a Nobody.

"You never even found me. I was trapped in those demon infested woods fighting to survive and you never even found me! You're useless!! Do you know why everyone in our town hated you? Because despite the fact that the curse was only supposed to bring misfortune to you and spare the rest of us, we all continued to suffer. You became a monster. Even if you don't feel it now, you will soon come to realize that your destiny is to become a monster!"Norair shouted. He then disappeared before Ryo could say anything to defend himself.

"Ryo, you never came back," two voices spoke to Ryo. He felt a stabbing pain as if something was eating his insides.

He turned to the voices and saw something horrible. His home town. Reduced to ruin. Mangled corpses lay in the streets, on buildings, pinned to walls by street signs, or dangling from windows, some missing pieces, some just splatters. "What happened?"he asked himself in a state of total shock.

"A horrible creature, or perhaps a disease, for it spread from person to person, hit the town a few days after you had left. It devoured the minds of everyone, driving them mad and causing them to commit unspeakable horrors. None were spared. Not even us,"the voices said.

Ryo recognized the voices finally. They were his parents. An image appeared in Ryo's mind. It showed a horrifying scene of a man, hanging from a ceiling fan, with the insides of a dismembered corpse (possibly a woman) around his throat like a noose. Ryo tried to throw up but the feeling wouldn't go away and nothing happened.

"Scenes like this became very common in our town until everyone was dead. Now the town is a ruin haunted by the shadowy figures of the creatures that slaughtered everyone,"the voices faded away and Ryo was left alone, utterly crushed emotionally.

Sho found herself falling inside the infinite blackness. She saw the mansion she used to live in. Then a voice began to speak. "That child will never be of any use to anyone. All she does is lose her toys. Her scatter mindedness will be the downfall of the company should she inherit it."

She saw herself, playing alone in a room. She was talking to some imaginary friend. Nearby, she saw her parents, working at desks on piles of paper work. Her child self tried to get their attention and too play with her, but they ignored her, like she didn't even exist. That was the day it started to happen. Rooms in the mansion began to vanish doors led to nowhere until finally the mansion was gone.

A new scene. Her dad was in an alley, surrounded by very dangerous looking men. One of them hit him with a bat and Sho tried to close her eyes to hide form the horrible scene, but she could still see it. Hit after hit after hit, they continued to hit her father with blunt weapons. She could hear the breaking of bones and the screams of pain. "no....nooo....NOOOO!!!! Stop it! It's not true! It's not true!"she heard a voice scream. She realized it was herself screaming. She had known something bad had happened. Her father had ceased writing back to her even after he had promised not to stop. She had seen an article in a paper about a brutal murder, but refused to believe all the signs. Now she had seen it for herself. She curled up in a ball and cried.

The Middleman (stubborn, yet relaxed)
"A fool, am I? Heh, I was just taking a page out of a certain Warrior-King's moveset." Shad said calmly, dusting off the dirt and shaking his hat with his free hand before placing it on his head. He was...kinda disappointed no one else was going to target the heart, but since the beast was obliterated by all those fancy attacks, he supposed that in a way, he dealt in the proper blow to weaken it. "In any case, awhile you're up, do you happen to know about something called a Time StoAAAAGH!"

He was interrupted as the ground itself became like black water, and with his robes being heavy as they were, he fell right through the surface into what seemed to be a bottomless abyss of complete darkness. He breathed slowly, taking in a swiff of air as to test why the water pressure wasn't crushing him, and relaxed ever so slightly that he wasn't going to drown. 'Notice to self, take a class of how to swim.' Shad thought, knowing that he was barred from P.E.

"Still, this is somewhat unsettling...did I miss something?" He said, no longer falling as his feet touched a glossy black mirror surface.

"Yea, your so-called allies failed. And it's all thanks to Hiro not bothering to share what he knows on Cthulhu." A mocking, impaient voice said out of the darkness, as a strange orche-furred cat with brown spots wandered by, wearing a odd-looking helmet with mechanical ears and two long, spotted tails with razor-sharp stingers.

"And you are?" Shad questioned, not sure what to make of this strange creature. Was it a familiar? Or one of those japanese legends came to life?

"Heh...you may not know me, but I know you, Shad Hornswell. Unfortunately, my name is not easy to pronounce, given how feeble minded you are as a human." The cat stated plainly, with a regal manner that showed he was in charge. "But if you must know, I am known as Tango, even though it matters little without a body, sent into complete oblivion by an unknown person. Not even I know how I got here, and quite honestly, I don't care." He began to walk around Shad, pacing his stride in a smooth, relaxed fashion.

"Ah...huh...in any case, why am I here?" Shad questioned, not offended in the least which Tango sighed.

"Why are we all here? Is what you should ask, you're not the only one in a pickle. Me? I don't really exist, even though I really want to. Basically, everyone you know is being driven into utter despair and it's your fault as well that you didn't have Excalibur to protect you. Then again, you don't really need any help or flashbacks to feel lonely and unwanted." Tango said, snapping his paw fingers as the blackness turned into a massive stack of gears and pulleys, endlessly turning and pumping over and over again.

"Indeed, I am but a cog in the system, so unnoticable by most people, and despised by those who do take notice of me. I cannot forget what I see, and recall that no one really wanted me, both in the village and in Hyakuji." Shad said softly, his face solemn and unexpressive. He also noticed Excalibur was missing, but since this place was so massive, Excalibur might be anywhere.

"Indeed, no friends, you can't go to classes, you're stuck in Skipmo most of the day with no one else to talk to, you have a lame set of powers and no one counts on you to use those powers to assist them. They want nothing to do with you, they leave as soon as you enter a room, and you can barely make conversation anyways. Besides that, they will never save you from this nightmarish realm, since you're useless as a mage." Tango quipped for good measure, not noticing Shad's hands turn into fists.

"I know, I know! Isn't there anyone else who can talk to? Maybe my dead parents, or maybe the people who treated me as a serf? Having a cat insult me is bothersome." Shad growled, getting slightly annoyed. Obviously this cat was picking at his faults and doubts, which was grating his nerves somewhat.

"Noooooo~" Tango sang, whistling all the while. "Mainly because in a way, you've basically thrown your old life behind, so bringing up those memories would be a waste of time. Just like you are, a complete fool who tries to be brave when he should be at his dorm, yet attempts to give support to anyone who needs assistance. And I get that, very admirable indeed. But loyalty to others will never give you the friends you need."

"And you know this because?"

Tango snickered, amused at this boy's tone with a indifferent expression, "Because without Arcadia, you have nothing really going for you. And it's not like people will remember you and the others for defeating Cthulhu, since this was a secret mission and the fact that no one knows your identity with that spell on. Let's face it, you're wasting your potential and now you're stuck in a rot, unable to help anyone, and that bothers you, deep inside."

"That's true...." Shad sighed, agreeing with Tango for the first time in a sad tone, "I'm not in this for recognition or fame, but to protect others no matter what the cost may be. Even though my heart is lonely for a comrade, I have no idea how to make friends. And it worries me that even if I do graduate, I won't know what to do with my life in general." He actually sat down, pondering awhile staring straight ahead with a solemn expression of deep thought. "I might as well give up...there's no way to get out of here...and I really miss Sir Excalibur..."

'Heh, that's right, human...know that you are powerless, and that no one will save you, since no one really cares about you.' The entity that took Tango's form thought, knowing that Shad will fall into despair very shortly given that he had little hope to go on as a whole.

Meglumar was horrified as something...Cthulu maybe? Was drawing them into a void, a black empty void of nothingness, and to make it worse, separating them out. Twisting and turning in the void, trying to just force his way out of it, he found himself floating in the emptiness for a long time. Nothing was happening to him right away...What was going on here?

Unlike a good majority of Arcadia, he had no real regrets, no horrible losses, no intense fears that plagued him, due to years of forced mental control. He was raised in a place where despair and joy were equally repressed in it's people with cold logic to live their lives. It was a shame, then, that he'd changed that in the past 2 years. Otherwise he might have been able to deal with what was coming.

All at once the world around him changed, into the world of Florencia. Meglumar's eyes widened as he recognized the world, before spying himself and the other member of Arcadia at the time fighting to protect the world. Something or someone was...forcing him to relive this. He...was displeased by this. And that was being about as generous as one could be.

"Stop....this...NOW!" Meglumar yelled out with intense anger, this one day leaving a big scar on his heart and mind. Especially what would then happen. Suddenly the world around him began to shake and shatter, before outright being destroyed.

Then the scene shifted to that hospital room. Meglumar sitting in a chair next to an unconscious Star. The day they learned about Star's nature. The danger she had within her, the possibility of destruction and death, particular her own. And just to make the nightmare worse, events slowly began to play out differently. Star began to VANISH from the bed, as the nearly comatose Meglumar from that time just sat in the chair asleep.

Practically grinding his teeth in rage, Meglumar turned away from the scene before him, the scene moving into his view again regardless. "I SAID STOP IT!" He said, not allowing this to stop him. Instead he just called forth Star Seeker, holding it out in front of him.

Something was keeping him sealed in here. And he wasn't having that. He was getting out of here. Maybe if he was being forced to be here...he could 'unlock' whatever thing was sealing him here? Or so he hoped. So he hoped his keyblade would lead him out of this nightmare

"Tsukasa-sensei?" Selene called out as she found herself in the middle of inky darkness. One moment they were on Ry'leh going up against Cthulhu and his minions... and now this? Was this some kind of spell? "Lavender-sensei? Yume-chan? Star? Hotaru-chan!? Is anyone out there at all?" the corporate heiress shouted out the names of her fellow Arcadians in hopes that someone... anyone would hear her. But worst of all, her summoned Valkyrie, who would never leave her side, was nowhere in sight. And suddenly, the English heiress felt a very palpable feeling of danger. She was all alone, and she had no clue where everyone else was, or what else might be lurking around in the dark beyond her arm's reach.

Every slightest bit of sound put Selene on the edge, as the corporate heiress whirled around in response to every sound, ritual dagger in hand, and now no longer so certain of herself. "Whoever is out there... stop playing games and come on out! I'm not afraid of you!" Selene demanded as she raised her ritual dagger in front of her, ready to stab anyone or anything that comes into view that isn't a fellow Arcadian, although the shaky tone of the corporate heiress' threat betrayed her growing sense of uncertainty. Slowly, but surely, two figures loomed into view, and the corporate heiress couldn't help but gasp upon recognition of the two unmistakable figures.

"Jonny? Yuki-chan?" It was certainly most out of place to be seeing the two of them here, but the two of them seemed to phase right through Selene like a pair of apparitions as they skipped along merrily, hand-in-hand like they were going about an everyday scene in the black void. The two of them chatted as they stopped, their actions seeming to show the two of them window shopping as Yuki excitedly pointed at something at a store window only the two of them can see. "What is the meaning of this?" Selene demanded as the two of them vanished.

The corporate heiress glowered at the sight in front of her as Jonny and Yuki appeared again, this time seated facing each other at a cafe table with desserts, as Yuki scooped a spoonful of ice-cream while mouthing "Jonny-kun, say AH," to which the super speedster obliged by opening up and accepting a spoonful of ice-cream from the pink haired girl, before proposing she did the same. Although they were clearly speaking, just like the previous sequence no word came out from their lips - it was like the two of them were acting out a pantomime. "Stop playing games and face me, you coward!" Selene demanded, gritting her teeth as she ran a hand through her hair in frustration.

"Coward? Perhaps, that should be said of you instead, Ojou-sama," a familiar voice said, with the last two words in his statement dripping with sarcasm. Selene's eyes widened at the sight of... Seth? Except that instead of his Arcadian uniform Seth was here in front of Selene in his butler's tuxedo. "Still trying to deny you have any feelings for him?" 'Seth' sneered as he pointed with his thumb to another Jonny-Yuki pantomime playing out behind him showing Jonny giving cooking lessons to Yuki. "Still trying to sound so noble and say you're not worthy?"

"That's not true... that's not true!" Selene protested, shaking her head at the sight of herself, Jonny and Yuki at the library, and with her other self looking enviously as Jonny showed his concern towards Yuki after the latter bumped her head. "Yes, it's true I liked Jonny... but I'm not vying with Yuki-chan over him!" the corporate heiress exclaimed as the various scenes played out, exposing her to be a self-deluded hypocrite; having seen enough, the corporate heiress screamed as she shut her eyes tight, not wishing to see any more of it.

*Fawning Internally*
There was only darkness that washed over them as they saw Cthulhu's visage reform again from that tear in space-time from that dimension that nobody could comprehend. It was like being covered in water, an ocean of darkness that none of them could get out of.
"ONEE-CHAN!"
"HOTARU!"

The darkness swallowed them both, but unlike before, they were no longer so deeply bound together as human and Persona - they were their own entity, and could no longer help each other as they slowly sunk into their own little hells and despairs.

"Hey!"
Hotaru gasped as she was shrugged awake by someone. She turned around to see who it was, and to her surprise, it was that blind young man who kept trying to help repair the bonds that broke between her and her best friend back in the village.

Takuma Hirose.

"Hey, you... seemed to be spacing out back there. Are you allright?"
"Eh? Uh... yeah..." she blinked as she looked around. She was in a familiar classroom, but one that she hadn't been in for at least three or so years - her old classroom back in her old village. Everyone was looking at her for some reason, even the teacher.
"... Kagura-san, are you not feeling well?" the teacher asked.
"Y-Yes... sorry about that," she said with a confused look on her face. Why was she back in her old school?
"If you're not feeling well, you should take it easy," came another voice next to her. It was her best friend, the one she'd shunned for the sake of her village, Hayami Kohinata. "Maybe you should go home for now?"

Hayami's hair was in pigtails, and this mostly happened after they became friends again, so Hotaru was able to discern that whatever she was looking it, it was when they became friends again, so no such problems with having to deal with that dark time here. At least, she hoped. Wasn't there something she was missing?
"No, I'm fine, Hayami-chan. You shouldn't worry too much about me."
"Well... if you say so... I'm still worried," Hayami sighed.
"If anything, we'll just walk home with you later then," Takuma offered.
"... Hey, don't neglect yourself either, Hirose," Hayami sighed. "Besides, if I left you alone with her, you'd probably do perverted things with her."
"H-Hey! Those were accidents at the time!" Takuma protested, blushing hotly as he did.
"I'm fine, Hirose-sama, Hayami-chan," Hotaru chuckled as she saw her friends start to bicker a bit.
"... Well, if you need any help, you know that we're here, right?" Hayami said. "Just call on us if you need us."
"Yeah. We might not look it, but we're reliable, Hinata-chan!" Takuma said.

... Wait, what? Something was wrong with that last sentence.

"I'm reliable, Hirose. You're just... you," Hayami groaned, though she was blushing a bit too.
We might not look it, but we're reliable, Hinata-chan!
"W-What's that supposed to mean?" Takuma retorted.
... we're reliable, Hinata-chan!
"It means that you're just going to cause trouble for Hinata if I let you go with her on your own!"
... you're just going to cause trouble for Hinata if I let you...
... Wait... I'm not...

"Why are you making me look bad in front of Hinata-chan!?" Takuma whined.
... in front of Hinata-chan?

Hinata

Wait, but...

Hinata

My... my name...

Hinata

My name is!...

HINATA

"Wait! My name is Hotaru! HOTARU!" Hotaru gasped loudly.
"... Hotaru?" Hayami blinked.
"Wasn't Hotaru the name of your little sister? The one who... died?..." Takuma asked.

"From this point on, Hotaru is dead!"
Hotaru suddenly raised her head at the voice. It was...
"... Grandpa?..."
Behind him, she saw a group of her other relatives crying over a figure that was shrouded by a piece of white cloth.
She... knew what this was. It was the night her older sister died.
"You... You will replace Hinata... for the sake of the family... It's what she would have wanted... RIGHT, HINATA? HINATA IS A GOOD GIRL, RIGHT!?"
"No! I... I can't! STOP IT! WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING, STOP IT!"
"You couldn't save your older sister... your selfishness killed her! Take responsibility!" her grandfather's voice echoed in her mind.
"STOP IIIIIIIIIIIIIT! I'M NOT MY SISTER! I'M MY OWN PERSON!"
"AND WHAT OF YOUR OLDER SISTER? SHE CAN'T BE HER OWN PERSON ANYMORE BECAUSE OF YOU!"
"STOP!"

She was suddenly raised in the air by the neck, and she could feel the life bleeding out of her with each breath being denied. She looked down to see the corpse of her older sister, grabbing her with both hands and holding her up.
"Why didn't you save me when I fell, little sister?..."
"Onee... chan..."
"You could have saved me back then... why didn't you?"
"... Stop it... please!..."
"WHY DID YOU LET ME DIE!?"
"I!..."

... Speaking of which, our intrepid little troll was actually locked in a different kind of hell of her own.

... Most of that hell actually consisted of... nothing.
"... Fuck. I was expecting something more substantial," Otoha sighed. "This again? Really? Enveloping us in eternal nothingness?"
"But... isn't that what you fear the most?"
"... Who said that?" Otoha asked, but her voice echoed in the darkness.
"Nothing. You fear nothing. You don't fear what your friends would say, about the lives that you could have saved, about the life you could have lived. You... have already experienced death. You've seen what it's like being alone by yourself in that cold void of oblivion."
Another person finally came out of the shadows that enveloped her, and suddenly grabbed her by the collar.
"You!..."
"Yes, me. Or should I say... you?"

Otoha was behing held up in the air by another version of Otoha - for lack of a better way of wording it, it was... a shadow of herself.
"That's why you do the things you do, Hinata. You push people's buttons, you trick them, you get a rise out of them and whoever else might be watching, simply because you're afraid of being forgotten. Even if it means being 'Otoha'!"
"..." Otoha said nothing to that.
"You're the trickster, the fool, the jerk who butts in on everyone's lives, even the lives of those who couldn't give a damn about you because you've seen that void! You don't want to be alone! And you'll do whatever it takes to avoid it!"
The shadow punched her in the face, sending her flying and tumbling into the endless void, being covered by nothing but oblivion.

"And you... will share the fate of everyone else... to be swallowed into eternal oblivion!"
"... Am I done yet?"
"... What!?"
"I said, AM I FUCKING DONE YET? DID I STUTTER!?"
"What do you mean!?"
"Wow. My true self must be dumber than I thought."
The other Otoha gasped. "How... did you..."
"Because the only one who could tell me who I really was... was myself."

Otoha steadied herself in the void somehow, righting herself and looking down at her other self. "After seeing different places, different dimensions, different times, hell different times IN different dimensions, I've realized that eternity is a scary thing to gaze upon. And... that's okay."
"Are you retarded!? You're okay with this!? You don't care what happens to this world now that he's awake!?"
"Of course I care. I'm scared of what he might do, of what others will have to see that I can only wish I could unsee. In fact, I'm scared that he's already done that. But... dwelling on it, trying to catch everything that I see and hear and laugh and whine and cry about... isn't going to help. Life, death, finity, infinity, sanity and madness... they're all things that I can experience. And like all experiences, I can just simply take them, accept them... and move on."
"And what of love? Of your love for your sister, the shared love you and her share with Hajime? Aren't you afraid of losing them!?"
"Those will pass. But they won't pass now. Just... much later. Until then, they're an experience that I keep close to my heart. Even if the physical essence of them is gone, I still have them in my heart. But I'm not about to let myself be consumed by them. It's the same with this darkness. I don't let myself be consumed by it... I won't allow myself to consume too much of its madness either.

"... Not saying that I'm perfect, of course. The moment I lose sight of myself and become driven completely mad is the time I stop caring about feelings like that and leave it to someone else who can. I can't feel bad about it, and I shouldn't have to. BUT..."
She reached out to punch her other self, but when she raised her arms to block it, she hugged her instead.
"... If I have enough of my mind left to keep a conversation with myself, then all isn't lost. I have hope."
"Even in this darkness!? Even if you end up being alone!?"
"It'll be lonely, and I'll probably be driven mad, but damn if I won't find some way to make it fun somehow. I don't regret anything I've done, because being able to do something about it anyway is reward enough."
"He's awake now. You probably can't."
"And if I don't do anything, I definitely can't. And that would be boring."
"And you're... fine with that?"
"I can be anything else, can't I? Hell if I can't be fine about it!"

With that, the dark aura surrounding her other self crumbled - the shadow of her own Persona started to shine in the warmth of Otoha's embrace before finally melting into her and becoming her own Persona.
"Allright. It's dark, and I don't know where the fuck I am. That's fine! I'll call the bastard out! If he won't show up, I'll feel around for him! Even if it takes eternity, that's fine! I've got all the time in the world! I'll fight until I can't take eternity anymore, and even past then! As long as I have hope... I cannot despair!"

With that, Otoha, in her overcharged Persona form, started to swing her arm around and around, and picking a random spot in the darkness, threw herself at it!
"If always wanted to see if I could put 'Did you just punch out Chtulhu' in my wiki entry! Fourth wall breaking, DON'T FAIL ME NOW!" she yelled as she continued her aimless and reckless flight into the void!

... She might either at least punch the Elder God in the face somehow, or at least any of the other Arcadians lost in the darkness. She hopes, anyway.

It's all she has left at this point.

"Oh shit!" Zhimeng commented as they destroyed Cthulhu, "A Great Old One is not going down so easily, we are in for some deep shit!" And tried to run backwards, only to be stopped by the other dream.

"Chitbang-Chan, we can't run away! We must stay and fight."
         "You idiot!"

And then, the real Cthulhu appeared, and all goes black.
"I just know something like that will happen!" Zhimeng complain just before the darkness consumes both dreams.
        Zhimeng's side.

"Now just where the hell am I?" Complained the evil dream as she walks in darkness.
Then things starts to brighten up, and she's back in Hyakuji.
         "What the..."
"Hi!" A ghostly shadow that looks like her appears and greeted her, "This is Hyakuji, your home... for now and forever..."
         "What?"
"I am the real Yume-Chan of this world, and I am ready dead, so you have to stay here, and take my place, and make Hyakuji your home~"
"You have got to be kidding me!" Zhimeng screams, "I want to go home~!!!"
"No~ you can't go home, you have to stay here, and take my place, do make friends with the people here, they're nice~ hahaha~"
"Ah!!! No~ I want to go home!!!" Zhimeng gives a blood curdling scream at the idea of having to stay in Hyakuji forever.
        Thianbang's side.

The stupid dream aimlessly flies around in the dark, and then suddenly, a village appear around her.
Or what used to be a village, anyway.
It was a burning leftover of a village, which people crying, bleeding and dying everyone.
"What... what is this? Where is this place?"
"You're in a war zone, girl." Said a voice in her head.
         "What? The Neuroi are back?"
"There are no Neuroi, these people were attacked by enemies bombers, by other human beings."
"What? Humanity fighting among ourselves? But this cannot be! This can't possibly happen! "
Then she hears the sound of flying airplanes, and she looked up.
And sure enough, more bombers arriving, piloted by people, dropping more bombs, killing more people.
"No!!! This can't be true! How can they do something so cruel and horrible to fellow humans! This is a nightmare! Ah!!! No!!! Make them stop! People are dying!!!"

“Alright!”

Hajime yelled with joyful elation when he saw that their combination of attacks after attacks on the tentacle faced monstrosity was working before it fell, pumping both his fists into the air with a jump of barely contained joy. This was what they have been preparing for all this time, and they had won. There was nothing to fear anymore now, they all can go back home and-

“What is that!?” He heard someone shouted in shock, and Hajime turned around to see the world in front of him rip and tear into a dark void that reaches out towards the material world where they all were on. More screams of surprise were heard echoing the first all around him, and Hajime turned to run towards Hinata and Hotaru and screaming their names before oblivion took them.

“Hinata! Hotaru-!”

---

Sound Cue:

Hajime found himself floating in front of a dreadfully familiar scene, one that he hadn’t hoped to be brought back up from the darkest corners of his repressed childhood memories. It was a cold and snowy day, the skies were dark and grey as were everything else around him. In this ethereal grey world, the only flash of color was the single red scarf that a little boy was wearing, who was lying down in front of a woman in a police officer uniform who laid still on the floor in a pool of red blood.

“Nee-san… nee-san… wake up… I’ll be good… please wake up…”

The waiflike voice coming from the boy as he continue to shake the unmoving woman sounds distant yet struck a chord in Hajime’s heartstrings physically; the pain from it was excruciating as if his heart was being stabbed by a thousand needles and he uselessly grab the place on his chest where his heart would be behind it in a gesture to ease it.

From behind him, Hajime then felt something pressing on his back, and without turning around to see, two arms reaches past his face in front of him before wrapping around his neck and pulling him into the cold embrace of something, the chill of which made him unconsciously shiver and his breathing erratic and in short quiet gasps as if the air around him suddenly became thin.

“You were a bad boy, Hajime.” A deathly quiet voice whispered pointedly in his ears, a very familiar one like the scene in front of him. “I told you to stay still on that day didn’t I? Why didn’t you listen to me?”

Hajime’s eyes went wide with horror as there was no mistaking the angry accusation in that voice. Hajime weakly tried to struggle and break free from the strong, iron grip embrace but the cold was sapping away whatever strength he had to fight back; unbidden tears streamed down his cheeks from the corner of his eyes again.

“I wanted to help you… I really do…” Hajime replied weakly after he stopped struggling altogether. “I wanted to help you to stop them, to be a Hero of Justice like you!”

“Help me? You helped them kill me. You can’t help anyone. Not even Hinata and Hotaru, not even our family or your friends. You can’t even help yourself. You’re useless.”

“No… no…”

“The world is a much better place without you going around helping others. No matter what you do, the law of cycles repeats itself. The pain and suffering you stopped will only appear elsewhere.” The voice chided him. “The people you saved won’t remember who you are forever, especially when you hide your guilty face behind a mask.”

“No…”

“That’s right. You wear that mask to hide that uselessness of yours, and your guilt.” The voice now laughed with venomous mirth, stabbing the dragger of truth into his heart. “Agito… Agito… Agito~ Everyone will remember that name but not Hajime Go. You will always be alone, my dear Hajime~”

“It’s not true…” Hajime answered back weakly, trying to fight the cold truth filling his mind.

“It’s so cold and lonely here. Won’t you wallow here with me in the darkness and do nothing helpful like the useless little boy that you are?”

“I… am… not… use-!!” Hajime began to protests again, having enough with this thing toying with him like this. He was past this. He had grown up. He was different now. But the words were barely complete when another pair of hand snakes up his body and clasps tightly around his neck, silencing him into a pained gasp as he was denied precious breath. More grasping hands reaches out from behind him to hold him back and render his entire body immobile, tugging at his body as if to tear him apart into a thousand pieces.

And finally, the phantom of his dead sister appeared in front of his face, her black messy hair down in front veiling her face yet from behind it, through tear filled eyes, Hajime could see the glowing yellow eyes glaring daggers of accusation into the depths of his soul with the one crime he will never hope to gain forgiveness for.

YOU KILLED ME DEAR USELESS LITTLE BROTHER.
In his heart, as darkness began forming at the corner of his vision, he believed she was right…
