There's evil in your heart .. and it wants out to play.
Hana had just arrived at Hyakuji and she had yet to settle into her dorm room or check her timetable but she wasted no time in getting to know the town. Dressed in her black turtleneck, black shorts, black thigh high stockings, black lace-up boots along with her black scarf and black beret, she boarded the bus to take her downtown. It wasn't like the color black reflected her personality or mood or anything like that. There was just something about it that let Hana be at ease. Perhaps her sense of security stemmed from the fact that it was an easily concealed color. Or maybe it's because that's the color she had grown to see everyday, being a kunoichi. Nonetheless, it was the color most of her casual clothing was.. Whether it was intentional or not, only Hana knows.

The bus came to a stop and Hana stepped out gingerly. The weather was cold, but nothing Hana couldn't handle, thankfully. The raven-haired girl had forgotten her jacket in her room. Her eyes wandered her surroundings, surprised at how big it actually was. When she pictured Hyakuji, she was thinking of a small school in a small town. It seems her perceptions of the school and the city that held it was wrong. However, contrary to what one would think, the kunoichi was not there simply to study her surroundings. It was more like, she was studying the people.

"There should be at least ONE hot guy around here somewhere," she chattered excitedly to herself, her eyes lingering from person to person. Hana had a habit of collecting trophy boyfriends. First, she'd scout the city for pretty boys, then she'd lure them in with her charm and play around with them until she was done and then she'd leave to the next city. At least, that was how she did it when she led a nomadic lifestyle. "But now I'll have to stick to this city.. Oh well, Hyakuji better have some impressive guys!"

Garbed in his ninja uniform, scarfed wrapped tightly around his lower face masking his appearance as usual, Satoshi flitted from rooftop to rooftop through the downtown area; Murakumo strapped to his side and Muramasa at his back as usual. The downtown area of the city had quickly become one of his favorite areas. Due to all the tall and tightly built together buildings the rooftops made an easy area for him to practice his skills undisturbed. Especially at night where it was not only harder to notice him in his dark clothes, but there were less people; those present being typically more concerned with heading home or getting to whatever bit of night life interested them. It didn't help that it also seemed cool as hell like he were some modern day ninja super hero patrolling the city for crime.

"Let's see," Satoshi mumbled to himself as he peered over the edge of the rooftop he was on to look at the street below just as a bus stopped and began letting out its passengers. The thought had certainly crossed his mind, but thus far the ninja boy hadn't opted to do something so reckless. Observation and keen perception were also important skills for a ninja so Satoshi made it a point to spy on the streets below from time to time as well. To him, the downtown area was just one large playground for practicing his abilities.

"Huh?" Satoshi suddenly questioned as he saw Hana exit from the bus, "What's with the goth girl?" She certainly stood out among the others. There was no denying she was attractive, but then Satoshi understood he was also still a teenage boy; it was important to discern from that perspective and the one called for in being a ninja. Still, the ninja boy noted that it made her stick out like a sore thumb. However, for all he knew that could have been her goal.

Hana walked casually around, looking around for cute-looking guys as she went from store to store. "Aaaah.. This is disappointing. Maybe they come out during the day..?" she said, turning around with her back facing the ninja watching her. In one quick movement, she turned back, following the flow of her hand as she threw her crystal hexagonal shuriken at him. She eyed him with hard eyes.

She had noticed his presence before.. Since she had gotten off the bus. He had been watching her all this while. But this was no ordinary presence. She knew it all too well.. The presence of a ninja. "I knew it.. Face me, ninja!" She met his eyes with a cold steely stare. Hana hated them. They had destroyed her life, twice now.

Ever since she had left the dojo, ninjas have been after her. This was one of the main reasons she had to travel from city to city, along with the fact she simply had no place to go. They all wanted to use her.. For her Crystal Release. No doubt that was what this ninja was after as well. No matter how well he concealed his evil intentions.

With a flash Satoshi suddenly noticed the goth girl had sent something flying through the air in his direction. His eyes widened in shock from a mix of both the attack and the fact someone had been keen enough to detect his presence. Reacting in a split second Satoshi managed to grasp the object moments before piercing his body. It was a once in a lifetime stroke of fate because he was still far too unskilled to do such feats regularly.

"Lucky!" he commented to himself before taking note of what he was holding in his hand, "Huh... a shuriken... made of crystal..." Alarmed, Satoshi pulled back from the edge of the rooftop and swiftly ran to the far side of the building taking cover hiding behind one of the large pipes that facilitated the flow of air vents within. He wasn't dealing with an ordinary person. A power like that. It was someone with a high amount of Chakra and mastery of some sort of Jutsu Art. There had been a few such users with the aptitude in his own Clan, but Satoshi himself had never had a chance to try such skills. Still, why was such a person in Hyakuji?

"That Clan," Satoshi mumbled to himself in realization as he clenched his fist tightly in anger. Could it really be them? They had slaughtered the entire Yagyu Clan seeking the cursed blade that was now upon his back. Since the day he had left his hometown Satoshi knew there might come a day when those people would return again in pursuit of his own life to finally claim their original goal. Had his enrollment in Hyakuji tipped off his presence? Did they send one of their assassins in response?

There was no time to reason out the particulars. He had a dangerous kunoichi to deal with. For the time being Satoshi held his position. It was too dangerous to fight in the open down on the streets. He'd force her to fight by his terms on the rooftop or give up pursuit entirely. Taking a deep breath and then exhaling slowly, Satoshi began to prepare himself.

"Tch!" She saw him catch the shuriken with a flinch. The fact that he had actually managed to stop her shuriken.. This guy was no small fry. Hana watched his shadow disappear, presumably waiting for her in the shadows as she could still feel that he was up there. But she wouldn't just jump up there unawares.. For all she knew, he could be setting up a trap. Staying on her guard, she ran into the back of an alleyway and ran up the wall, enabling her to backflip onto the roof she had seen the ninja lurk upon.

Where was he? She couldn't see him.. But there was no doubt he was still there. Treading carefully, she clenched her fists in preparation for whatever might come her way. "Come out!" she called out roughly, "Tell me your name!" She always asked for the name of the enemy ninja, not that it mattered. It just meant if he really was apart of .. that Clan, all the more reason for her to kill him. She wouldn't hold back either, after they had massacred her own clan..

Hana had never imagined that she would meet a ninja here in Hyakuji. Though, it was stupid of her not to. After all, Hyakuji High was not exactly a secret. Perhaps the decision to stay here was a wrong one and she needed to go back to roaming the Earth. After she had just got here too.. "You're pretty skilled, I have to admit. You caught one of my shuriken.. However, you're going to have to do more than catch shuriken if you want to beat me! Reveal yourself!" Taking on her battle stance, she waited.

True to his assumption the goth girl had followed him to the rooftops. Almost immediately she demanded for him to identify himself. Was this so she could confirm he was the last survivor of the Yagyu Clan and the proper target? Why else would someone aggressively attack him just from noticing his presence? He'd have to be careful about how to proceed. Facing down another skilled ninja was the last thing Satoshi had expected this early in his stay at Hyakuji.

"That's a bit rude isn't it?" Satoshi called back as he shifted in position to move and sneak along the large pipe when ready, "You haven't even introduced yourself yet~" His tone was full of sarcasm almost if he were outright teasing her. As the last word slipped from his mouth Satoshi began to move swiftly but silently hoping to bait an attack to the source of his voice and his original position in an attempt to further sound out the abilities of his opponent.

As he moved, Satoshi's hand grasped the handle of Murakumo gently. In all likelihood he would have to draw it before the night was over. He didn't like having to use it unless it was needed, but he couldn't just lay down and die. There was also, of course, Muramasa if push came to shove. However, Satoshi had learned well the deadly price that was to be paid for its power. He wouldn't use it now, not for this; he couldn't.

Her jaw clenched instantly as he taunted her with that voice of his. "Don't screw with me!" she yelled out angrily, throwing another round of her crystal shuriken toward the source of his voice. The nerve..! Hana's rage was slowly building up so much her clenched fists were starting to shake. Calm down, she thought to herself, all this anger will do nothing but cloud your thoughts! Her eyelids closed and Hana took in a deep breath.

"晶遁・翠晶刀!"
[Shōton: Suishō Tō]
Crystal Release: Jade Crystal Blade

A blade of crystal formed on her arm, glinting in the moonlight. Now she could safely approach him, having something to guard herself with lest he attack her. So far, she knew very little about him.. She had not seen him nor his face, and the only reason she was sure he was male was because of his voice. She had already revealed two of her techniques to him and she knew nothing. The odds were certainly in his favor.. Perhaps she shouldn't have been so brash and got him to come out first before she acted. Ah well, it was too late to linger on such thoughts.

"You're a rude one yourself," called out Hana, piercing the cold silence with her tough voice, "Didn't anyone teach you to face someone when you're talking to them?" She spoke with the intent on pinpointing his location with his response. She treaded forward, listening carefully to catch the slightest sound.

As Hana threw the crystal shurikens they easily tore through the large ventilation pipe and stuck into the ground behind it. Had Satoshi remained in his previous location he would have been easily skewered by them before he'd have time to deflect any of them. It was a fortunate move that he had feinted his position and moved to a more advantageous point.

Hand Signs?! Satoshi thought to himself in shock as he peered at his opponent from his new position. It was clear now. He wasn't dealing with some amateur. She had to be an assassin sent by the mysterious Clan that assaulted his own. Sighting the crystal blade that formed, the ninja boy ducked back down too wary to risk revealing his location just yet. Trying to sound things out things the girl called out trying to incite a response once more. At this point, Satoshi knew there would be no way to slip away. She was too perceptive to have noticed him from the street eblow; there was no way he could outright escape now.

With his hand held tightly on the handle of Murakumo Satoshi stood up and turned to face his opponent. Though his lower face was obscured by the scarf he was wearing, Hana would clearly see the rage in his eyes. "You would talk to me about manners and honor after what your kind has done?" Satoshi questioned. Shifting the boy took a readied position as if he might draw his sword at any moment. However, he paused as if allowing Hana to take the first move.

"Satoshi," he added with zero emotion in his voice.

.. !

Hana took a hesitant step back as she witnessed the rage practically glow from his eyes. What the hell? Why the fuck was he getting so angry for? A bead of sweat formed on her forehead as she released her fingers and reclenched them. Enraged foes were often harder to deal with.. Their emotions would drive them harder, make them stronger. However, it often caused them to overlook and leave more openings.. Hana couldn't rely on that though, he was a ninja. She couldn't afford to let her guard down.

"Ha? My kind?" repeated Hana rather mockingly. What did he mean by 'kind'? As in, females? "What, did some girl break your heart or something?" She was slowly regaining her composure, the nerves from seeing his rage slowly ebbing away. "Was your ninja clan destroyed by enemy ninja? Are you being forever hunted down by them, just so they can exploit you? Geez! I should be the one angry right now."

Irritation was starting to set in as she recalled her not-so-peachy memories of ninjas. Really! Why was he so worked up? His problems were probably nothing compared to hers. Hana looked up as his cold voice pierced her thoughts. "Satoshi..? I meant your last name. Geez, why would I want to know your first name?" Was this guy an idiot?

"So you are with them. You shouldn't need to ask the name of the Clan you've already tried to wipe out. That's okay though. I'll show you the anger of the Yagyu Clan," Satoshi confirmed after the girl exactly described what had happened to his Clan. How else could she know? There was no doubt in his mind now. This girl had to be a kunoichi of the clan that had assaulted his family and friends seeking the very cursed blade strapped to his back. Whatever the reason, Satoshi knew it could not be anything good based on the lengths they were willing to go just to obtain Muramasa.

His hand tensed on the handle of Murakumo and it seemed as if he might draw it at any moment. However, in a split second he shifted and reached to his waist grasping a Metsubushi and chucking it forth directly towards Hana's face. The hollowed out egg was filled with an unfortunate mix of ash, ground up pepper and tiny bits of finely ground glass. At this point the scenario could play out in several ways. If it managed to strike the target the ensuing close range expulsion of the Metsubushi's contents would all but render Hana blind. If she attempted to deflect it the hollowed out egg would break and release its contents anyways. This would most likely have less effect based on the distance the Metsubushi still was from Hana's face, but at this point it was all about trying to level the playing field against her jutsu techniques.

Following this, Satoshi graspsed two shurikens and tossed one to either side of Hana hoping to further cut off potential escape routes and force her into a situation of taking some attack regardless of her response. He said nothing else to her. He had nothing else to say against heartless murderers that would slaughter even innocents and children for purely selfish reasons.

Was this guy.. mocking her?! "Tch!" Hana clenched her jaw, bringing her armed arm in front of her to be on guard. This guy really wanted to get her fired up huh? Did he really want to die that badly? If that was so, Hana would grant him that death wish of his! Hana decided to play along with this Satoshi guy.. That's what he was doing right? Pretending to be in her position? "Mm, mm, I understand," she uttered in a harsh tone, "I'm a heartless murderer here to claim what's rightfully mine. But you got one thing wrong.. My last name is Nakamura!"

Her voice rose into a shout, echoing the rooftops. She focused her eyes on him, particularly his hand which rested on the handle of his blade. All of a sudden, his hand shifted and grabbed something in the shape of an egg. There?! Her keen eyes darted to the Metsubushi and a smirk tainted her lips. He was seriously underestimating her.. As the ninja egg flew toward her, Hana used her free hand to catch it. "Oi, oi .. Underestimating me is dangerous," she said as she revealed the Metsubushi in her hand. From the naked eye, the ninja egg would look as it normally would; however, should light reflect off of it, one would notice it to be covered in a thin sheet of crystal.

Of course, being a ninja, Hana was all too familiar with these types of tools. Back when she was with her clan, energy was not wasted on learning how to use these tools, seeing as Hana's techniques were more than enough. Rather, the energy was put into honing her reaction skills and learning how to recognize and deal with things a ninja could throw at her, both literally and metaphorically. The exact moment the Metsubushi had made contact with her skin, she had covered it in crystal just before it had the chance to break and spill it's contents. She had practiced this scenario endlessly, though those times were a distant memory. It was sort of nostalgic.

Leaving little to no time to spare, Hana threw the Metsubushi back at him. Immediately afterwards, she threw one of her crystal shuriken to either side of him, recreating the scenario he himself had set out for her. If Satoshi chose to deflect the crystallized Metsubushi or whether he left it, either way the ninja egg would shatter (if not from the impact of his blade, the force of her throw). As Hana had covered the ninja egg in only a very thin sheet of crystal, the contents of the egg would also spill out upon breaking.

"Shit," Satoshi remarked with surprise as the girl caught his surprise trick, crystallized it and then chucked it back at him. It was like something out of a twisted nightmare. Reacting quickly, Satoshi drew another shuriken and chucked it forth striking the crystal egg as it was about halfway between the two of them. This shattered not only the crystal, but also the hollowed out egg itself forcing its contents to poof between them as much of it fell to the ground below. It was unfortunate to let it all go to waste, but there was nothing else he could do about it now.

As this happened the crystal shurikens hit on either side around him and letting out a frustrated sigh Satoshi drew the Murakumo. The katana seemed to shine an unnatural color in the moonlight and he seemed as though he were wielding it with precision and grace with zero effort. "It seems playing a game of back and forth tricks isn't going to get us anywhere," Satoshi acknowledged her abilities with a cocky laugh, "I propose we cut to the chase!"

Raising his voice, Satoshi began to run as fast as he could directly towards Hana. At this point was essentially blitzing her drawing back the Murakumo to slash several times at her body directly. However, these were not very precisely aimed. In fact, for the time being he was simply trying to gauge how she would react and try to counter or parry the strikes. His opponent may have access to powerful jutsu that tap into the natural chakra in one's body, but Satoshi knew the true power of the ninja: Information.

Hana watched in surprise as he shattered the crystallized Metsubushi with a shuriken. He reacts fast..! She narrowed her eyes as she tried to keep focus, unsure of where he would suddenly sprout from with the contents of the ninja egg creating a convenient cloud of dust hanging in the air. Her keen ears picked up his voice as he spoke to her. It was true, neither of them was to be underestimated. So far, Hana had not observed any particularly unique abilities but that was no reason to let her guard down. She had to expect anything.. If she was too sure of him, it might spell out the end of her.

Suddenly, Satoshi appeared from behind the dust, charging toward her. Taking a step back, she caught the glint of his blade. Unprepared, Hana managed to block at least once or twice but was seemingly cut by the rest of the slashes. However, she had coated her body in a thin sheet of crystal so the damage was insubstantial. Before he retreated, the kunoichi took the opportunity to slash back at him with her crystal blade at full force.

There was something strange about this though.. Why had he said the Yagyu clan earlier? Where did that name come from? Surely if he really was after the Crystal Release she possessed he would know her clan was Nakamura? Or maybe he wasn't after it at all and she had jumped to the wrong conclusion? Jumping back a few paces away from him, she released her Crystal Blade jutsu which caused it to break and shatter into crystalline dust. "I .. have no business with you," she said quietly, before approaching the edge of the rooftop and jumping off the opposing wall to land on the ground below.
