It was one thing to ride a maglev train or any kind of train for that matter but to ride a sentient train?!? Very trippy. She was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the so called Doomtrain. How the he'll did she summon him? "I 'unno the details, all I can tell ya is you summoned me. Now you wanna ride to the castle or not?" He had a friendly yet somewhat pushy voice. Nothing too bad. Other than the fact it was a giant somewhat demonic living train. 'This is Hyakuji afterall...' Her thoughts trailed off as she remembered something she was told on her drive up here. Something about a castle she'd spend quite a bit of time in. It'd be nice if she could find the purple marble or whatever they'd sent to her. Ya fall asleep for just a second and lose something like that... Needless to say she felt terrible. Snapping out of her funk she was very surprised to find herself seated within the doom train, vastly approaching her destination. Wherever that was. " 'Don't worry it'll turn up when you need it,' what a crock! I don't even know what it did let alone when I'd need it..." As she voiced her concerns the doors rolled open and Yukiko finally understood where she was. They were right. It was a castle and a rather magnificent one to boot. Stepping off Doomtrain as he bellowed a surprising train whistle she gingerly stepped back as the train magically went on his way. Slowly approaching the castle she started to piece together where she might need to go. The water and ice tower definitely had her name written on it. Entering the tower she was awed by the huge waterfall that seemingly spawned from the top of the tower itself. She almost immediately felt self conscious however as all the water vapor in the air near her started very lightly icing over her skin. The slight fog that was produced in close proximity to her body was a nice touch too. If anyone could help her better control her abilities they could be found here. At least she hoped they could. |

"... You should really get going instead of grading papers. You have guest." And so said the water Aeon, Fenrir, before he has picked the aquamancer instructor up and shoved the poor teacher assistant away from the grading desk at the fourth floor, and drove her down to the first floor to meet the incoming student. Kaede couldn't help but to let out a sigh when she starts to realize that the water aeons are starting to get more and more comfortable with her as friends and family members, which is good, but that also means that she starts to get being taken care of like a little child in the family. Such as, well, what Fenrir just did, picked her up from the instructor office's desk and dumped her out of the office, and locking her out of the room with ice. Well, she COULD fight against it, but what's the point of it if Fenrir the ol' wise water aeon has determined that she is not meant to be in the instructor room? And with that thought, the girl journeys down the waterfall with her new trick- Kori no Rondo. What would appear in front of Yukiko is a traditional Japanese lady in her twenties casually strolling down the water falls in bits and pieces of frozen ices, as if she is jumping down from one stair platform to another. The instructor is dressed up in a Kyudo outfit, loose and comfortable looking, and her hair is tied back into a pony tail. There is something about her appearance that speaks a gentle, book-loving, and almost too peaceful of a person, too. What the girl will come to realize, too, is that she is actually a recognizable face- she is the teacher assistance of Miyuki Takamachi Sensei, the History teacher. Of course, being that this is Kaede, and she has been lazy in walking down the stairs for a while now, she did not really think it too impressive to control and freeze up parts of the water fall to provide foot pillars for herself. But how others would look at it? Well, who knows. The girl walks out of the end of the water fall, with a light grin on her face. "Welcome to the Water and Ice tower of the elemancer castle. How may I help you today?" With a light, polite bow, the girl asks. |

Walking out into the openness of the tower the bronze skinned girl felt a deep sense of calm and bewilderment both overtake her. This truly was a magnificent place. A wonder in and of itself. But that wasn't all that was in store for the young girl. Approaching the edge of the pool that the waterfall ended in she was caught off guard by the site of a woman seemingly walking down the waterfall! As she approached it became fairly obvious she was in some position of authority. For one she appeared older than Yukiko and also she was dressed for the role of instructor. A stark contrast to the loose violet hair that fell just to the shoulders of the young student. She appeared very much the student in her white blouse and knee length skirt. As Kaede finally reached ground level and greeted her with a bow she was kinda caught off guard. There had to be something more to her other than just teacher for her to bow and appear... Not subservient but with an attitude of how she could be of assistance. Clumsily bowing herself she suddenly remembered all the moisture in the air and how she must look with haphazard ice crystals formed all over her face, arms and legs. Concentrating a moment she drew in surrounding moisture to form a nice smooth finish across her body. Still emberassing but at least she looked better. "I... Honestly don't know for sure..." She began feeling rather clumsy just showing up here. "I mean... I know why I'm here. I'm here to learn about myself and how to better control my cryomancy..." She paused for a moment looking down at her iced over extremities. "But first do you think you could inform about why I was brought here? This thing... Doomtrain? I think that's what it said it was called. It said I summoned him to bring me here. But I've no idea what it was talking about..." She trailed off again trying to remember exactly what she was told before coming here about the castle. Edited by SnowBlaze, Nov 24 2011, 02:22 AM.

A light grin appears on Kaede's face when this girl in front of her has greeted her using her own slightly-more-clumsy bows. Maybe this is not the best way for her to greet people after all, since it seems to always make them uncomfortable. But then again, this is just about how Kaede learns to greet everyone coming here into the water and ice tower- they are colleagues in aquamancy before they are teachers and students. There is a basic amount of respect that needs to be paid between them. And, of course, Kaede has taken note of the strange ice bits that freezes on the face of the younger elemenacer. It is not something that warrants a huge frown fro the aquamancy instructor, but it is definitely something new that she has never seen another person has this condition before. Not that she thinks that nobody else around the world has this condition, she just has not have enough experience herself to actually see a case of it herself. And then, he girl spoke up about Doomtrain. And it all seemed to make sense. Ahh Doomtrain. "Doomtrain is actually an Aeon residing in our Towers that helps facilitate the transportation of us elemancers to this location, the elemancer towers. If Doomtrain has brought you here, you must be an aquamancer or cyromancer who has interest in pursuing studies in your own element, whether it be the knowledge of your power's origin, the way you use your power, or simply the way that your power interacts with nature. And this will of yours is probably what brought forth Doomtrain and prompted him to come to you." Kaede starts to explain, and gestures the girl to follow her to the fourth floor, which is the instructor office and the lounge. Unlike how she has came down from the waterfall, she has actually taken the elevator this time. "Let me introduce myself," Kaede enters the lounge, and gestures the student to come in and take a seat down at the sofa in the living area, which may also seems like a chatting area. "I am Kaede Akita, the instructor of this tower, though I believe you probably know me already as the teacher assistance from your Period 3 history class, right?" With a light grin, the girl introduces herself, all while pouring both of them a cup of tea from the ktichen of the lounge. |

She felt a bit uneasy as she stared at the aquamancy instructor who seemed to be taking analytical metal notes about her. Not like she was ogling her or treating her like some sort of freak or anything. There were just certain times when she felt rather self conscious about herself. And it mainly happened at times when the airs moist and her mind has failed to realize it. The feeling was quickly replaced by curiosity as Kaede began to enlighten her about the Doomtrain. Not the Doomtrain. Just Doomtrain. It was after all a living thing. She was fascinated by the revelation that it could somehow sense her desires and manifest itself by acting upon them. She had a few questions from the older womans explanations, chief among them being about Aeons, but she held her tongue. Following behind her Yukiko was relieved they'd be taking the elevator to wherever it was they'd be going. She hardly thought herself capable of anything remotely close to what Kaede had done. It was a marvelous and elegant ability. Flashy too! Following her into what looked like a lounge/living area Yukiko took the offered seat as she sat upon the very edge of the couch. Her curiosity and budding excitement were grossly outweighing any apprehension or bashfulness she may have had. Listening to the formal introduction her face took on a perplexed look when she mentioned she was her assitant teacher. "Forgive me Akita-sensei, but I've not had your class. At least not yet. My paperwork didn't go through so I missed the first day." She was surprised at herself honestly. Usually she was meeker in front of authority figures but the rush of excitement from finally finding a place she could truly belong overpowered her normal sensibilities. "Eh heh but I look forward to our first school meeting!" She quickly added trying to recover for somewhat brashly correcting her teacher, although in hindsight she though if anyonenwouldnt have minded it would be Kaede. "I'm sorry, all this has gotten me so riled up I've forgotten my manners. I'm Yukiko Moeteiru, sophomore transfer to Hyakuji." She took the tea as she gave her name, taking a nice slow sip as she tried to calm her thoughts. |

Huh? Kaede tilts her head a little, and she begins to get a little more nervous when she heard that they have actually never met. Does it mean that she has actually never seen this girl in class before? Then why did she think that the girl looks familiar!? "Hmm….." Sounding troubled, the girl tries to think of the reason why she could identify the girl almost instantly when she sees her. There must be a reason why, right? RIGHT. "… I guess I recognized you from a school document then…?" Kaede laughs a little dryly, and tries to shrug off the awkwardness of the situation. Now that she remembered she has actually never met this girl in front of her before, but actually memorized her face from all the documents that Miyuki has made her remember, it all makes more sense. Though, this is also quite embarrassing, the fact that she mixed up interpersonal encounters and paperwork encounters. "A-anyway, Yukiko-san, welcome to Hyakuji, and a pre-welcoming to the Hyakuji High school, I guess." Kaede nervously scratches her cheek with her right index finger, and her smile a little more pushed than before. "So, would you like to tell me what you want to learn about as far as your elemency goes?" |

"If that's the case I wish I had a memory like yours. Sorry for bringing up something so negligible. I'm happy to meet an instructor outside of class anyways. Especially one I have something in common with." Another sip and a nervous smile crossed her face as Kaede didn't seem too bothered by her remarks. She could tell it had gotten to her a bit though. Stupid move saying something. Hopefully she could brush the incident under the rug and get back on the right foot. Shouldn't be too difficult. It's not like she burned the bridge or anything. "Thank you sensei; I'm just happy to have a teacher who's also an elemancer. And in my specialty!" She thought for a moment about what she said. She knew exactly what she wanted to learn. Hopefully she could help. Staring down at the tea cup she falls silent. What better way than another demonstration? One final sip. Yukiko raises her pinky finger and barely inserts it into the liquid before the tea freezes. A few seconds and one knuckle later the whole cup was frozen solid. Pulling her pinky out she holds it and the frozen tea infront of her face. "I am sorry about putting you on the spot about recognizing me," she began, staring into the older teachers eyes. "But believe me if we had met I'd have asked you to help me then and there. I've always had this... This curse!" A weak smile crossed her unusually somber face as she waved the frozen tea around. "I'd just like to be able to go swimming, go to a water park, or even just take a shower without this happening! I want to become stronger, to learn how to control it. I feel out of place, even here, because everyone has control over their abilities, except for me." After she spoke a small sigh escaped her pursed lips. Akita-sensei was the only person she had ever opened up to about how she really felt concerning her powers. It felt like a weight had been lifted off her mind. Not a very big one but enough to make her feel a little better considering. |

Well, that was quite… awkward. Kaede couldn't help but to think to herself about the failure of conducting a more normal conversation via bringing up that she is her Teacher Assistance in the younger girl's history class. Still, the fact that someone calls her "Akita-sensei" makes her feel really joyous. Though, this is really not the place for it. "Please don't worry about calling me sensei here. I am, before an instructor of the aquamancy, a colleague in seek of a similar goal of yours, to be stronger at my own power. It'd be fine if you would like to just refer me by Kaede, or Akita, whichever you fee the most comfortable with," Even though Kaede was joyous over the fact that she was called "sensei", the elemancer tower is really not the place she'd like to be called that way. Partly because of the stated reason, but also partly because she was not confident enough in herself and her ability yet to be called a teacher in the element. Still, when Yukiko demonstrated her power with the tea, there is a very slight bewilderedness in the girl's eyes. However, the surprise in the girl's glances quickly disappears, when the girl has organized her thoughts and concluded that this is the main reason why Yukiko had ice frozen on her face earlier on. Instead of going ahead and start lecturing the girl about aquamancy, Kaede took the cup from the table in front of Yukiko, and merely held it in between her hands. She closes her eyes a little bit, and before long, the tea cup in her hand is warm again. Not boiling hot, but it is warm again. She puts the cup back in front of Yukiko, and grins. "Think of it this way, Yukiko-san, at least what you do with your power is undoable," Kaede grins, and takes a sip out of her own cup. "When you think of the people who cannot control their power and create even bigger of an irreversible disaster, we are not in as bad of a state as we originally thought, no?" "Besides, I do not think this of a curse. In fact, I'd consider this more to be a gift. With some trainings, I am sure you will manage to at least go to a water park without having to freeze the entire park over." Of course, Kaede made it sound really simple. And she knew, for a fact, that it is simple. "Now, would you like me to share what I think about your power?" |

"Hai, Akita-sen... Uhm alright Kaede-San." This was new and very exciting. She was student and yet equal in terms of elemancy. They were both here to learn and further themselves it seemed. Kaede seemed to view herself more as her senpai than as her sensei, at least concerning aquamancy. A soft smile crossed her face thinking of how different this might be. Yukiko was still downtrodden and watched with slight uncertainty as Kaede took her cup. She perked up and leaned in noting Kaedes concentration upon her cup. As the cup became a warm liquid again she wasn't really surprised. Kaede was an aquamancer herself after all, but what she had said after did greatly help. It was reversible. Nothing wa set in stone. As she sipped her tea once more it was as if it had never been frozen. Maybe cooled by time somewhat, but no discernible difference from when she first poured. "I know this is a gift Aki.. Kaede-San; it's just sometimes my gift is overbearing..." She paused for a second thinking back to when they first met. All the moisture in the air was a dead give away to what would happen. She was too enamored with the surroundings to use common sense and plan for her natural reaction. As the older girl continued she laughed at the mental image of herself in the middle of a frosty water park. It would be nice to visit one of the places she has almost religiously avoided all her life. And with them both students, at least in aquamancy, they'd both be able to learn about each other. Yukiko at least hoped she'd be able to help Kaede in even a fraction of the way she'd help her. Looking up at Kaede her meek smile shown through as she nervously sipped more tea. What would her thoughts be about Yukiko? She could help but it would be a migh impossible task? She began to panic as her mind started to go off on a ligtspeed 'what if' question list. Luckily she caught it early and banished those thoughts, mostly. Best to just get it over and see what diagnosis she had. A small sigh slowly escaped as she gathered herself. She really hated how easily her mind could race with doom and gloom. "I'd like to know what you think, senpai. Any insight you have is greatly welcomed." |

Having to finish the entire cup of green tea during the whole time that they were sharing a conversation, Kaede took the liberty to pour herself another cup, and continues to take a sip from it, before opening her lips again, after Yukiko has addressed her as sempai and asked her to continue. A grin appears on her face, a lighter, more cheerful grin, and she puts down the cup. She stood up, and walks away from the living area with a "Please excuse me for a minute" and shortly afterwards returned with a notepad and a marker in hand. She sits down next to Yukiko, and lays the notepad in front of both of them. She then proceeds to draw a stick figure and writes Yukiko's name on top, signifying that this is Yukiko that they are currently talking about, and another one, noting it as Kaede. She then proceeds to draw the chemical sign of H2O, water, around both of them. She then puts the marker down, and looks at the drawing. Well, for the love of Ryujin, she can't draw. She shrugs and turns towards Yukiko. "Please excuse me and my lousy drawings." The girl begins with a grin. "I have discussed with several elemancers in these towers before, and I have come into a conclusion that our elemancy has come from a lot of different origins. Some alchemy, some genetic mutation, some alien-technology. I, myself, religion. Regardless of origin, however, I believe that there is a logical way to explain how our powers work." The girl states, and takes the marker back up again. She begins to draw circular motion arrows around her own figure, signifying the move of the water particles around her. "I, myself, is blessed with a spiritual origin in my family. This allows me to 'borrow' the element water, and manipulate them at will- by controlling their motion, compressing and extracting them from one object to another, or molding them, so to speak. This ability, however, do not allow me to change temperature of things as you have seen earlier on. After all, if you are simply size changing and moving things around, you aren't going to be able to do anything to the energy contained within the particles, and that is what needed happening to change water into ice, and ice into water, by changing the balance of energy in the particles." She then hovers her hand over to Yukiko's figure, and draws arrows from the water particles towards her body, signaling that the waters are drawn towards Yukiko."I believe that your case is the complete opposite from mine- instead of having a body that affects the moving the water particles, your body has an ability to absorb energy from the water particles around you. How much capacity of energy you can gather from these water particles to be stored within your body or for your own use, I do not know. However, in case that the ability of yours to absorb energy from the water particles into your body is infinite, then it is highly possible that the raw energy is also stored and circulated within your body as you absorb them." With that said, the girl draws a circular outline around Yukiko's stick figure, signaling the flow of energy. "And, if that is the case, the way to solve your problem will be rather simple- by learning how to exert the energy you draw from the water particles around you back into the water, you will be able to maintain an equilibrium between the energy level your body has, and the energy level of the water around you. And, I saw that you have already learned some ropes as to how to do that, consciously." The girl then draws a few arrows signaling the outgone of energy from Yukiko's body towards the atmosphere. "However, this solution is temporal, and requires you to maintain conscious to do. If you happen to be knocked out, it is very possible that you will not be able to control your body to do such a thing." Finally, the girl circles the out-going arrows a few times, and hit the marker tip onto the board a few times to emphasize. "And so, what we would probably need to work on, is to train that conscious decision of yours to exert the energy back into the atmosphere well enough, that you will be able to do it even if you are sleeping, or, even, slip it down into the back of your mind into a subconscious thought- almost like an unconscious muscle memory, if you would like to call that." "And, given practice, it is probably going to be possible for you to monitor the energy input and output so much, that you can use the energy to do something cool and convenient, like, well, heating up the cup of tea in front of you by exerting enough energy from your body into the cup itself, or use the energy as kinetic energy- like, winning a 100m dash race?" The girl draws a bigger arrow signifying a huge energy outburst from Yukiko's stick figure, looks at it, then giggles a little at the thought of using the heat energy for something else, "Of course, as a teacher, I'd discourage you from cheating with your power." After the long explanation, the girl finally puts the notepad down, and looks at Yukiko eyes to eyes. "So, what, may I ask, do you think about this theory?" |

Finishing her own cup of tea too, Yukiko nodded her head as Kaede left the room momentarily. Opting to wait for a refill she places her cup beside the kettle for the time being. Looking around briefly she was about to get up to have a look around the lounge but Kaede was shortly back. As she drew Yukiko stifled a few giggles. At least she knew she couldn't draw. A few more titters escaping her, she composed herself enough to finall admit, "Ik sorry sempai, you just draw better than myself actually! I've never had much if any kind of artistic abilities, aside from a bit of cooking." She didn't want to sound like she was making fun of her. Just surprised to find a drawer with skills that didn't utterly surpass her. Settling back down and listening to her explanations of aquamancy and her comparison of their too abilities Yukiko's head started to swim. She never was exactly a stellar science student but she thought she knew what Kaede was talking about. Though she was unsure if she actually understood what Kaede had said. "I can say it is a fascinating hypothesis. Ahem, but let me make sure I actually understand it," she replied a bit of a blush showing upon her golden cheeks. Seeking clueless in front of a teacher wasn't one of the things she'd wanted to do upon her first day. Taking a moment to gather her thoughts she just wanted to state the very basic information Kaede just went over. Which hopefully would mean that she took a little sometime away from elemancy 101. "Considering your aquamancy comes from a religious respect, due to the covenant or bond you have, you can only manipulate the water itself. Not the inherent energy it has that allows it to become a solid, liquid or a gas." Pausing a moment she felt it was so far so good. From what she had said that was what Yukiko had taken away from it. "And from your observations my way of elemancy is the opposite of yours. My body allows me to harness the energies of the water and because I am not properly trained in the ways of manipulating this energy, my bodies natural reaction is to...absorb the energy? Thus freezing the water?!?" Kaedes abilities seemed easy to comprehend. At least somewhat. It was her own that really confuzzled her. "And if I can learn to consciously control it, then I can, as you said contol my powers or even do other things with it like win races?" "Not that I would cheat just to win!" She quickly added with a flash of her smile. It was tempting to think she could do something like that. "Do I understand correctly Kaede-sempai? I am admittedly much better at history than science." A small smile graced her features as she glanced back down at the notepad. Fascinating stuff. Even if alot of it soared over her head. |

Kaede merely gives a grin after Yukiko has reiterated herself. Well, that was pretty spot on. "I'd say that's pretty close enough," The girl says in response, "Yes, that's about what I think your power is. Of course, we may need to do some tests and trainings to find out whether my hypothesis is completely correct, but that is how I think we should interpret it for now." She proceeds to put the drawing pad down, and pour herself to another cup of tea. "So, what do you think about it? As the person who is experiencing the power, you should have a better insight than I do. Will this theory of how your power works apply to you in a lot of occasions?" The girl asks, and drinks half of the tea from the cup, again. |

Success! She at least comprehended what Kaede sempai had said. Fingers tapping across her chin she really wasn't too terribly sure if Kaedes hypothesis fit her perfectly. But from how she herself understood it, her musings were the closest thing that explained exactly how her abilities worked. She never focused on it too much before but she did seem kind of... Energized? Not too sure how to explain it but Kaede sempais hypothesis did seem to be holding quite a bit of water. Better understanding could finally lead to control? "I'm not completely sure, but from how I understood your hypothesis it does kinda fit. I never noticed before but I do get kinda... Peppy, I guess you'd say? It's the first time anyones ever analyzed me and you've kinda hit the nail on the head," she finishes with a slight laugh. It almost sounded like a psych evaluation. |

A brighter grin appears on Kaede's face, as she finds that they can agree on the same principal of how Yukiko's power work for now. "Okay then. We shall proceed along with this theory in mind, until something else shows up that defies this statement that we have established, then." The girl puts down the notepad in her hands, and proceeds to pour herself, and Yukiko, some tea. "Now that we have identified the question, the solution in hand, would you like to try and figure out a gameplan? Or do you want to have a tour around the water and ice tower for a little bit?" The girl offers. It will be great if Yukiko is enthusiastic about starting to practice and what-not, but to be honest, Kaede doesn't feel all too comfortable to start today. After all, as much as this makes sense to Kaede, and possibly Yukiko by now, it seems quite a bit to dissolve all at once, even for Kaede, who actually did all the talking. Therefore, she was sort of wishing that Yukiko would take it easy for the first day, so that there will be more time for both of them, and they can then ease into the process. However, as soon as the instructor's voice drops, a rather charming, bell-clear voice rings from the top of the water fall and descends into where they were at. "Oooooh~ a new aquamancer in town?" A woman walks into the lounge area from the balcony area. Yukiko can almost automatically tells that this woman, although assumes a human figure, is no human. Kaede frowns at the appearance of this woman, as well, as she notice that the woman has, annoyingly, also brought quite a bit of water into the balcony carelessly. "Shiva…" The girl says, a little displease in her voice and her brows frowned together. "Human can die from slippery floors. How many times must I say this…?" "Oops, my bad~ These don't take seconds to clean up though, so don't worry!" The aeon replies with a cheerful laugh, and approaches Yukiko, attempt to look at the girl in a closer distance. "So you are the new member of the tower, eh?" What Yukiko would also notice, is that as soon as the woman commented about cleaning up, the water has evaporated into nothingness in a matter of split seconds. |
