The bright lights and sounds of Hyakujis own state of the art arcade were nigh overwhelming. All manners of flashing neon, 8-bit sounds, coins and all manner of good times could be seen and heard. And this place was enormous to boot! There was no way Dakota couldn't have a good time.

Running through the mall at top speed with Dakota flailing in the wind as she held onto the smaller girl like an eagle with fresh fish had left Yukiko rather parched. Looking around she spotted a few vending machines and quickly drug Dakota there as well. Good thing she was so light!

Fishing in her shirt for her wallet a bit longer than she had hoped she finally freed it from the confines of her bra. Perusing the selections she turned back towards Dakota, an offer formulating in her mind.

"Alright, I'll by us some drinks and maybe a snack later if we want and you can handle the actual arcade? Sound good?" It wasn't really a question. She was gonna take care of their food needs whether Dakota liked it or not. She didn't mind others paying but Yukiko was always one for playing fair. And this was one way for them both to contribute to the ensuing awesomeness they would experience.

Dakota was short and light, but she never expected to be drug at hide speeds, flapping in the wind, shocked somewhat by this tun of event

Dakota was a bit superised by Yukiko's choice of wallet location.

"That can't have been a comfortable place... still, it's immune to pickpockets." she thought "I think my pant's pocket will be a better place, though."

"Sure, I guess." Dakota told her. She guessed that it wasn't fair for Yukiko to rely on her for everything, just for it wasn't fair for her to rely on Yukiko for everything.

"Great! That way we won't get dehydrated from all that which is the awesome in this arcade!" Her grin was firmly in place once again as she looked at the younger girl; she was curious as to what she might want to drink. As was typical Yukiko would go for water. She'd just pop the money in and get hers first and then let Dakota choose her beverage.

Mundane insertion of money and acquirement of drink initiate. And done. Taking a few quick sips Yukiko proceeded to fill the machine with all manners of change. Admittedly too much for anything Dakota could possibly get from the machine but better safe than sorry.

"Anything ya want! Sky's the limit!" As she spoke she looked back into the arcade. It truly was a modern marvel. A near Mecca for any and all desires that could be filled only by the flashing lights and unique sounds of an arcade.

Dakota hit the button, and a plastic bottle of Coca Cola popped out. The text on the can was written in Japanese characters rather than the Latin alphabet, of course. Opening the bottle, she took a quick swig of the soda before screwing the cap back on, and placing it in her pocket. It was cold, but there was no way in Hell or Hyakuji that Dakota was getting a purse.

"We might want to get that snack now. I don't know if the policy in Hyakuji is the same as back home, but arcades generally don't allow food or drink inside." she pointed out "If we get thirsty in the arcade, we could always look for a water fountain."

Yukiko almost fought against Dakotas suggestion of snack now games later but her stomach decided to speak for her with an audible groan that slightly embarassed the sophomore. With the classic head scratch followed by nervous laughter she couldn't deny her stomachs cravings.

"You win Dakota-chan. As I said it's my treat so what do you want? The food court shouldn't be too far away..." The bronzed girl replied straining her neck as she tried to look over the throngs of people. It sure was busy today...

"As far as I can tell the food courts... Thata way!" Pausing for a second she was seen pointing in the general direction of the food courts. A small victory for Yukiko who does, at times, get turned around and lost. Not easily lost but it happens more often than she'd care to admit.

Latching on to Dakota again she started to lead her by the hand towards Majikku malls magnificent food court. "So what are you in the mood for? Maybe some sushi or ramen? Or would you rather go with more American snacks?"

Sushi or ramen struck her more as a meal than a snack, and sushi was expensive on the wallet, or at least in America it was. Still, when in Rome.

"To be honest, I've only ever had the cheap kind that's essentially just ramen noodles with flavoring powder you put in a pot and boil, never the stuff that actually has anything in it. So yeah, I guess Ramen sounds fine." she told her. She walked towards the line for the ramen stand.

"Great! A nice bowl of ramen can help satiate any hunger! Be it big or small!" Walking over towards a small noodle shop with Dakota she hungrily read over all they offered. A great selection and quite reasonably priced to boot! Oh Hyakuji how I love thee!

Waiting in line for a moment Yukiko was pleased at how quickly and efficiently this shops owner ran his establishment. This shop was slightly reminiscent of the famed soup Nazi from Seinfeld. Though admittedly no where near as bad.

"Two orders please. I'll have a small miso ramen soup with bean sprouts and she'll have..." She stopped and looked over towards Dakota who was still looking over the menu. She really hoped her Seinfeld analogy didn't hold true...

"Uh..." she shrugged "I guess I'll have the small miso with pork."

Really, she didn't know the more extensive selection of Ramen was that common... ignore the terrible rhyme. Apparently, there was more to be new to here than her body. All the noodle dishes the Japanese had seemed to put the Italians to shame. Granted though, she'd never been to Italy either, but still.

Once they get their snacks, she sits down at a small table. She at least knew that you didn't eat ramen with a spoon, but with chopsticks. At least she knew some about Japanese culture, maybe enough to get by.

"Good choice! Here you are sir! Thanks," she said as the money and ramen changed hands. Quickly handing Dakota her miso she grabbed her own along with her wallet and water and followed her to the nearest table. Siting down next to her friend Yukiko quickly tucked her wallet back into her personal carry space. Convenience was the name of the game.

Breaking her chop sticks she gave a quick stir and took a big bite of hot savory noodles and beans. Her stomach soon would not complain any longer. A few sips of water and a bit kore ramen and her mind began to wander to exactly what kinds of games Dakota liked. Surely an arcade like that would have whatever anyone could imagine.

"So what kinds of games do you like Dakota? Shooters, sports, RPG, mecha?"

"Well, I like most types. On one hand, I've never done a mecha. On the others, I've always liked the games about shooting zombies." she told her.

Still, she hadn't taken a good look at the games there, had she? She doubted the games in that arcade were the same as the ones at the arcade back in Fallbrook.

She ate more of the ramen, it was pretty good actually.

"I guess I'll have to see what's there, won't I?" she told her.

"Yeah I guess we shall see. I rather like Zombies myself. Here's hoping," Yukiko replied raising her bottle before drinking. Her ramen was nearly gone but she still had quite a bit of broth which she greedily downed rigt after her water. Sighing heavily she was, for the moment at least, full.

"How'd it measure up to the instant ramen you're used to?" Yukiko asked, another drink of water taken to help cool her belly from the assault of all that nice warm broth. She hoped Dakota enjoyed it at least as much as the ramen she was used to. She also hoped Dakota was geared up for some intense gaming!

"The stuff I got here is definitely better." she tells Yukiko, drinking the broth. Pretty much, if the insta-ramen was like a McDonalds hamburger, this was like a Ruby Tuesdays burger.

She finished off her coke, then wiped her lips with a napkin. Good thing she wasn't the type to wear lip stick!

She then gets up off her chair, then asks her "Ready?"

"Glad to hear it! I hoped you'd like it. They aren't exactly the same but if you liked that I figured you'd like the real thing too!" Downing the last of her water as she finished Yukiko double checked her belongings to make sure she had everything.

Nodding her head she throws away her trash, replying "I'm ready if you are!" She had better be. They were soon to walk into a state of the art digital world. Possibly only surpassed by the works of Tron. Though from what little she saw not by much.

Following behind Dakota the two high schoolers slowly made their way back toward the arcade.

"Wow, just wow..." Dakota gasped. True, Japan had a reputation for technology, but this was beyond real. Ok, Hyakuji was unusual, but still... she couldn't have expected this. She expected just the newest arcade games out there and a catchy trance or techno song playing over speakers... But VR? That was just awesome. Thanks to hormones, she ended up standing in some fangirl-ish stance, looking at the arcade, her eyes practically sparkling.

"Lets see... Hyakuji of the Dead? How about that Yukiko?" she asked her good friend.

Following Dakota she almost went passed the VR pods but caught herself. Looking at the Hyakuji of the Dead with Dakota she giggled a bit at the little pose Dakota had going on as she stared at the VR pod. Dakota-chan was cute. Which made it all the funnier considering the pains she went through to not be.

"It's up to you. Whatever you want to do I'm up for. Though blasting Zombies does sound like fun!"

Waking up the machines she was surprised they were actually unoccupied, at least for the moment. She quickly inspected them and found what she was looking for. Instructions for use. It was all pretty straightforward stuff. She couldn't find out how one actually used them though.

"Uh, any idea how to use 'em? Special token, card, magical incantation?!?!" She spoke to no one in particular as she frantically scoured the machines. Zombies were in need of their second death at the hands of the dynamic duo!
