It seemed to be the wrong place to be just as the sun was setting beyond he horizon. This place was most likely creepy enough in the day time to those who knew of it. Let alone a new transfer who's heard nothing about this ghost school. Let's not forget the exponential increase in scare factor as the sun slowly continued going down. Slowly and mehodically making her way through the deserted and very run down section of the school Yukiko couldn't even remember exactly what led her back this way. Well... That's not exactly true. She really couldn't beleive that she'd so easily lose track of the little kid she was trying to help. Though in hindsight it was a little strange for a boy that young to be shuffling around a highschool in such a daze. Damn her caring nature! Even stranger was the way he bolted as soon as she got close enough to notice the burns upon his clothes... SNAP! "Eh heh heh heh, I'm sure it's nothing..." The frightened girl thought aloud. She was just relieved she didn't scream. Though she was sure her pounding heart would have drowned it out. "A-are you alright? Are you lost? Don't worry, Yukiko-chan can help get you back to your parents," the meek and very frightened tone in her voice might suggest otherwise. Snapping her head towards another sound coming from one of the run down buildings she slowly made her way towards a gaping hole in the facade of what appeared to be an old library. Standing a good distance away from the entrance, Yukiko looked over her shoulder towards the way she came. Funny how far away the relative safety of the modern campus looked from this dark recess. Warily scaling her surroundings she called out again to the strange little boy she saw. "Are you here sweety? Its not safe here, let's go find your parents," Yukiko called again, still nervous but also resolute. It was funny how this spine tingling chill affected the young cryomancer. |

Dark. It was getting dark. In fact, it is dark. Soon the sun will go down and it will be nightfall. There usually isn't much going on after nightfall but that doesn't exactly hold true to some places in Hyakuji. Every school has to have a haunted area, and Hyakuji High is no different. You can find one here at the backside of the school, where some of the older buildings used to be before they were burned down in a mysterious fire from who knows how long ago. Mysterious thing often crop up, leading many to avoid the place out of fear of the unknown or attract the curious and the adventurous. Or simply someone a bit dense to actually realize what was happening in the first place. Tell me, tell me tell me tell me. Does she even realize what she had just walked into? Apparently not, from the looks of it. Considering that the girl herself was new to this place it just seemed unlikely for her to be able to know anything about the stuff that happens here. But to be honest, no one knows much anyway. People barely come here. Or maybe it's because people barely come here, that people just doesn't want to come here. It's a strange thing, the cycle of causes and effects. Like a spinning wheel that rolls around, never ending, never stopping. Until someone decides to stop it. Enough philosophical talk. The unfortunate girl would need to watch out. She wasn't alone. Of course, she probably wouldn't think that she was alone considering the fact that she was looking for the aforementioned boy with burn mark on his body. So two people can't really be considered 'alone'. But at the moment, yes she is quite alone. No one around. No company. No enemy. No friends. No helpers. No one. In a desolate ruin surrounded by everything that is broken and destroyed, possibly killed. In this place, anything could happen. And when it happens. No one else would know about it. But wait, was she really alone? Certainly she is, right? No one had followed her here, she had came her by her own volition. How could there be anyone with her? Unless of course, the other one had followed her trail without the girl knowing about it. Of course she would claim she had came here alone. Because the knowledge of someone else being here slipped past her mind completely. Just don't look back. "All of a sudden, the girl would feel a hand trailing down her spine, sending chills to her bone and causing her hair to stand on end..." Seth breathed slowly in her ear, gently stroking her back with his fingers. What a troll. |

Despite how dark and quiet it was to the rest of Hyakuji it was far from it for the goose bump riddled girl who wandered into the wrong part of her new school. Well, it was still dark but the quietness was thrown out the window as her fear steadily rose. The loud constant thump of her heart, sounding like a damn jackhammer in her head, nigh drowned out any noise. Especially the oh so silent foot steps of the man who followed her on this fools errand. I mean trying to help or save a ghost was well intentioned. It usually helped if one had any sort of supernatural powers and that they actually recognized they were in fact dealing with a ghost. Oh well. Good intentions count for something, right? Hopefully so. With her blood pressure on the rise too, she was more than a little apprehensive at entering this dilapidated building. But what kind of person would just let a little boy wonder in a place like this all alone with no one to help him? Well that dfinatelu wasn't who Yukiko was! 'I kinda wish it was right now though...' The thought briefly flashed through her mind as her eyes squinted, trying to get a better look at the surroundings she was soon to (stupidly) venture into. Or at least that was her intention until the mystery man was right behind her. She must be going crazy! Either that or an unwitting star in a new Stephen King horror story. She could swear she heard a narrator in her head! The creepy thing was it was right. The chill went straight through her and her hair stood even straighter! The ghost fingers upon her back was what caused her heart to skip a beat. Time stood still as she thought she might just faint and become a nicely chilled snack for whatever it was that was toting with her. Or maybe it was just hernover active imagination? Somehow swallowing and getting her wits about her, Yukiko reached back with her left hand and started feeling for whatever might be there. After all, it was probably nothing, but she was too scared to come face to face with the unknown. Reaching back her fingers did surprisingly come into contact with something shencouldnt quite place. It was someones forehead but with her clouded mind she wasn't sure. Feelng further down one of her fingers lightly poked something squishy. N reality an eyeball, but she was still hoping for a reprieve. Further down her fingers dipped into the mans nose. This was what frightened her. She knew or at least had heard about ectoplasm coming from ghosts. And what else could this mucous like slime be? What I ask, what? It could be snot but clouded minds do not use your petty logic or clear thinking. One final check. As she ran her fingers further down she finally knew she mitt be in danger. She could tell she brushed across someones lips. But they felt so scaly and rough that chapstick was warranted. Wiggling a finger to feel for teeth she knew her ship was sunk. Slowly turning towards her monster, her breath was already becoming frantic. Blood pressure through the roof, heart racing. Her fight or flight response was kicking into overdrive, which was why she was starting to have a panic attack. The pain in her chest only intensifying as she came face to face with the monster. "AHH!" She briefly screamed at the top of her lungs before collapsing to the ground. It was okay though, all the rotten wood, metal, and other debris cushioned her fall. Even though her mind processed that it was just another student her body was still panicking. Huge gulps of air entered through her mouth as her chest pumped up and down trying to get the oxygen she desperately needed. The whole time looking up with fear in her eyes. She was dying! She had to be. And this really wasn't the place she wanted to expire at. Maybe she could haunt this place after though... |

"...You know, I'd be laughing hysterically right now had you not been molesting my face," Seth said in irritation, rubbing his somewhat sore nose no thanks to her jamming her fingers into his nostrils. Really, what a mood killer. But supposedly it was funny in its own way. But he's not feeling it though so its probably not working that well... Ah well. "Second time I met you and you're already breaking the rules. I like that," He said, suddenly giving a thumbs up at the idea of rule-breaking. Well, see the backside of the school is prohibited to all students lest they want punishments. Not that he hadn't wandered here before, and the first time he did it he met Aki, whom had claimed a small area between two of the run-down building as her own secret tap-dancing spot. Ah, so nostalgic~ "What are you doing here anyway? There's nothing here but old books and burned down stuff," And a small radio that belongs to the aforementioned Aki, but he's not telling that. |

As she slowly got her wits about her and the neurons finally relayed the critical information that she actually knew this person her frantic heart rate had begun to come under control. Pupils focusing on the aforementioned 'monster' she thought her suspicions were'nt that far off. "Eh heh ahh, sorry about the 'molesting' as you put it. I kinda don't take fear too well as you can see." Seeing Seth here again she was just glad thy weren't near another fountain... "And what do you mean by breaking the rules?! There's no way that I..." She kinda trailed off as it aorta of hit her what rules she'd be breaking. But in her defense if it was so bad to be back here then why the hell didn't they just tear this crap down?!? Surely there were a million things a school full of super powered teens could use on campus other than burned buildings and rotting books... "And to answer your question I didn't come back here just for the heck of it. There was this little boy, he looked like he might have been hurt." She stopped for a moment thinking about the burned clothing he was wearing. Was that really all that was burned? "I called to him to stop and see if I could help, but he ran away back here. I followed him here and was fixing to look for him, but..." She fell silent as she lightly chewed on of her nails. She didn't want admit to him how scared she was, even though she already admitted she was fearful. Ahh the complexities of the teenage girl. Feeling her butt and back getting sore she extended her left hand towards him. "Be a gentleman and help me up?" Her words slightly muffled by her nail chewing. "Boo, get up yourself," Is what he said, but he took her hand nonetheless, pulling her up to her feet with less effort that it would take to flick a coin. Ah, such a gentleman, helping a lady in need. Pfft. She has yet to see his daily life with Youma. Now on to business. "I think you're just hallucinating," He said, scratching his head and looking around as though searching for something. "No one would actually be here in the first place. Especially not a boy who looked as though he was half barbequed. Unless what you just saw is a ghost of course~ Mwaahahahaha~" He said, deliberately wiggling his arm and cackling like a maniac just shits and giggles. Well. Actually it might really be a ghost, but there's no reason for him to be scared. He's got to wake a half-phantom girl to go to class every single day. Nothing to fear of. ...Right? Well. To be honest he had never seen any real life ghosts before... Not that they're all bad. ...Right? |

She stared daggers at him for his response but was pleased he helped her up none the less. She had half a mind to pull him down hard like he did when she tried helping him out of the fountain earlier. But revenge wasn't apart of who she was. At least not yet. She was slightly irritated at his treatment of her story. She did fight back a bit of a laugh at his mad scientist/cheesy horror story antics. He did have a knack for making her loathe and like him simultaneously. Something she found quite odd and stressful. Brushing herself off she started thinking she should have paid him back. Oh well. There was always time, right? They were after all just teenagers. "Alright then GhostBuster, if you're so sure, lead the way! Prove I'm just hallucinating this half-baked kid," her tone had gotten tense. She didn't like being doubted, especially by him. He'd already bested her once at the fountain, she'd be damned to let him dunk her a second time. In the same day no less! "Whaddya say? I mean you've got nothing to lose, right?" As she spoke she thought she may need to sweeten the pot for him. A little wager perhaps? |

"Wrong. I actually have everything to lose if you were actually right," He said, folding his arms and staring at her with a look that said "Duh,". But of course, he didn't actually think that she'd be right, so he had absolutely no problem accepting her challenge. This is so gonna come back later to bite him in the ass. "But, since you asked for it, why not?" Usually he 's not one to be making or taking challenge but what's the harm in this particular one? I mean, the's no way he'd encounter something that doesn't actually exist or was a figment of a person's imagination, right? But of course, since she mentioned it as a challenge, where's the fun in it without some sort of a wager? Ah, so typical of challenges. They really don't have anything better to do now, do they. "Now, I could lose everything, so there has to be something to gain if I'm right, right?" He said with a somewhat mischievous smirk on his face. "What's the deal?" ...That totally wasn't Seth who spoke. Dammit V. |

Smirking as he seemed against the idea in the beginning she started to say something but kept quiet as he then went ahead and accepted. Or so it seemed. He was a strange one. He seemed to not have any real interest and just seemed to be humoring her until he got it into his head he might be able to gain something out of this ordeal. She looked him over for a moment. His slightly different demeanor evoked in her an image of the fountain. For some reason as she looked at him the thought of him pulling her into the fountain gnawed at her. He just seemed to act... different at times. Though it was negligible at best. Tapping her fingers upon her chin she really couldn't think of an adequate reward. She was definitely going to regret this... "Tell me, what would you like from me if you're right and I'm wrong? I'm not quite yet accustomed to wagering upon the validity of ghosts. So, what would you wager? Just so I'll have an idea?" She really didn't know what she might wantfrom him. She'd see what he'd wager and respond in kind. |

Eeeh.... Well, to be honest even he had no idea. Really, this is all V's idea, so why should Seth had any idea what V had in mind? "...You know what, let's just do it without the wager..." He said after a considerable amount of pause that might have made others think that he was daydreaming at the moment. Really, wagers and bets never end well. Let's get going shall we? Walking and stepping over the large hole that seemed to lead to an old library, he glanced around the area, noting its charred and worn down features while at the same time watching his steps. Though admittedly it was a bit hard to do in this darkened room. Especially at night. Now he sorta wished they had some sort of a light source, like a torch or a stone that glows or something. |

"Well fine with me, but if you change your mind I may take you up on it. For now, let's leave it at...bragging right I guess?" Replying with a shrug of the shoulders she watched as he took the lead into the burned building. She almost started shaking him to bring him back to reality. What an interesting character he was. There was definitely more to him than meets the eye. A robot in disguise, perhaps? Carefully following behind him she also quickly saw the problem. Or rather didn't see it. Without some light source it could prove difficult to search. Unless there eyes could adjust and become reliable in the very dim light. That may not happen however. As she moved forward to stand next to Seth her clumsy feet struck a board and sent her stumbling forward into the back of Seth. A momentary scream was all she could muster as she hurtled towards Seth. Maybe not hurtling towards him but you get the gist of it. |

"Careful not to trip on some--Aah!" And he was just about to tell her not to trip on something. Bad timing maybe? "Augh... watch where you're going at least!" He yelled in irritation, keeping her up and pushed her back on her own two feet after very nearly loosing his footing from the tumble. Like two pieces of domino or something. And I'm pretty sure if he can't see anything in this level of light, then she certainly wouldn't be able to see anything either. "I think it's still too early to say this, but I'm gonna call you clumsy from now on," He said, turning around and giving her a somewhat sympathetic pat on the shoulder just because. Of course, he had full intention of teasing her to death all the way to the end (Okay, so maybe not really to death.) but apparently that's not happening. Not when he had just saw something... intriguing behind her. So much so that he stood there staring for a good ten seconds. Oi oi, what's up, you're spacing out again. V said inside his head, shaking his consciousness back to Earthling level. "Aa... oh, right... let's move on," He finally said in a low voice, turning around and moving on, losing his interest in Yukiko. What did she said earlier, she saw a kid with burns? Well, it disappeared quickly enough, and he couldn't get a good look at it to actually identify what it was. But it sure looked like a kid. |

A heavy sigh escaped her as he helped/pushed her back to her feet. No arguing there. Kinda obvious why she wasn't named grace. "Heh, no argument here, sometimes I think I've got no left feet," she replied, her arms crossed across her chest. She still couldn't see too much of anything but her eyes were getting used to the dark. Excruciatingly slow though. She looked back up and lightly blushed as Seth appeared to be staring at her. "Is something the matter?" She asked sheepishly as he then suddenly came to and mentioned they keep moving. Another sigh, a down trodden expression and they were soon off again. Slowly and carefully she picked her steps following behind Seth. Clumsy or not it'd be rather emberassing to fall again not even two minutes later. Being the scary place this was it wouldn't be complete without some ghastly sounds, neh? As the wind picked up a shrill moan echoed through the air coming from deep inside the library. The second floor maybe? "Wha-what was that.... Se-Seth?" |

He didn't bother to answer her. He simply shook his head in response to tell her that he had no idea what it was as well. Though it was probably hard to see his response in the dark like this. Now, remember how he had happily claimed that there was absolutely no way a ghost or something unexplainable or ethereal could actually exist here? Well, he took it back. He's not so sure anymore. If there wasn't anything then there shouldn't be any reason for his hair to stand on end, right? There's chill running down his spine and he was glancing around in nervousness as though he had been expecting something to jump in on them. Maybe there really was something in here...? "...Stay close," He said suddenly, his hand reaching back for Yukiko. It wasn't exactly obvious but there were hesitation and a very slight shudder in his voice. As though he himself was feeling fear. He didn't know what was going on, the chills, the disappearing image of a kid, the low moaning voice from the second floor... humans are afraid of the unknowns, and Seth is not exclude--BAM!!! Seth gave a gasp and turned around as something large struck the ground HARD from between the bookshelves, as though something had fallen from great height. It sounded like it was actually quite close but there was no way to tell what it was in this level of light. |

Yukiko's skin was prickly, riddled with goose bumps. Elevated blood pressure and heart rate accompanied her uneasiness and ever growing fear. Though she wasn't as fearful as she thought she'd be. She was glad Seth was here. She knew he wouldn't sacrifice himself for her or anything like that (or would he?!?!?), but having him here helped calm her nerves a little. Safety in numbers and all that. "Mmhmm, don't worry," she replied, a bit of shakiness in her voice as she followed close behind Seth. Why the hell did she have to follow that damn kid?? Especially back to this creepy place? She was just able to make out his hand as he reached back. Yukiko grasped his hand roughly and squeezed. It felt good to reassure herself that he was really here, given the extreme lack of visibility. Walking along she froze and emitted a very high pitched scream whenever something hit the ground hard. Luckily she was able to cover her mouth and muffle her scream to a small extent. She was facing Seth as he'd turned towards the crashing object. She was planted to the ground. Her voice came out lower than a whisper, "Please tell me that was nothing." Her chest was heaving. Her eyes tightly shut. She was trying hard to not crush Seth's hand but it was a losing battle. She'd have to apologize for that later. |
