Saya exhaled heavily as she finally reached her assigned dorm. Finally, after all the craziness of this day, she would be able to come home to a silent empty dorm and relax. Perhaps start unpacking and so forth, make sure to falsify the backing of the closet and so on. The red-head turned the key in the door and pressed her way inside, instantly freezing in place. Wait a second, was this her dorm? Well of course it was her dorm or the key wouldn't have fit... but there were... things... in this dorm. Non-standard things that definitely weren't hers. Wait, so... that could only mean... She... had... roommates!? "What?!" The redhead exclaimed, her plastic bag of convenience store dinner dropping to the floor with a light thud. The school had to be joking right? Putting her in a dorm with someone else was just asking for trouble, surely they knew that right? She'd been here long enough for them to understand that much right?? (although, it wasn't like she'd ever been foolish enough to get into fights in school but surely they would know that much. Or... or was it that they didn't truly comprehend and simply thought she was anti-social or something? Oh god, what if this was the school's attempt to force her into interracting with people? Wait, if that was the case... she could only hypothesize as to what kind of people they'd stuck her with... Oh god... this year had just gotten a whole lot longer, hadn't it? |

Then... "Huh, I wonder whose are these?" Jen wondered as she entered the other bedroom of Room 420 of Fudo dorms, with a white apron, head wrap and surgical mask and a vacuum cleaner. There was the room that she and Star shared - and then there was the other bedroom - that had been left unoccupied ever since Fuu and Rien moved out. For the longest time the room had been left closed, with neither girl so much as going in ever since Rien - and sometime later - Fuu cleared their things out. But just because it was unoccupied was no excuse for the place to simply collect dust and spider webs, and smell musty from neglect. And of course, it was easy to imagine the purple-haired girl's surprise when she realized that the room had already been cleaned out (mostly) and someone had their belongings there. And of course, Jen made a mental note to herself to post on Fuu's Facebook wall later when she goes onto the internet. "Hey guess what, Fuu-chan? That room you and Rien-san stayed in finally found a new occupant!" But who might the mystery girl be? After all, one can only guess so much by looking at the occupant's possessions, which out of respect towards their owner the purple-haired girl refrained from rifling through them or shifting them around, instead looking to tidy up the rest of the room to the best of her ability. But she figured, from what little she could see was that their owner probably led an austere, almost Spartan sort of lifestyle. No matter, Jen figured, knowing that if she stuck around in the evening she might get to meet her new roommate, and possibly plan a surprise welcome with Star... And Now... "Ah-ha! So there's the mystery girl!" Jen exclaimed cheerfully as she noticed the door to the living area open, peering over the monitor of her desktop to catch sight of a crimson-haired girl standing beneath the door frame. "It's good to see the other bedroom finally found a new occupant!" the purple-haired girl giggled as she literally jumped out of her seat by leaping onto her chair and then vaulting over the computer desk and skipping over to the entrance to meet the redhead. "Jennifer Chase, Hyakuji High sophomore welcomes you - you can call me Jen!" the purple-haired girl grinned as she rested her right hand on her chest as a gesture towards 'herself'. "Currently residing in room 420 with best friend Star Ricci, but I think it's better if I let her introduce herself to you instead... hey Star, our mystery girl roommate is here!" Jen looked back to call out to a distant corner of the room. "So, may I know the name of the person whom I have the pleasure of meeting for the first time?" Jen asked, flashing a cat-like :3 smile. "Ah-ha! So there's the mystery girl!" Saya twitched a bit as she turned to the source of the sound, a... rather exuberant purple-haired girl bounded over, before introducing herself as 'Jennifer chase' inviting Saya to call her 'Jen'... a tad too informal for her tastes... So she was a sophmore huh? That meant she was younger, at the very least by 2 years. This was going to be troublesome... Oh to say Saya was rather pissed off at this arrangement (not one roommate, but two even?!) was something of an understatement. However, she easily recognized that to make enemies in such close quarters was beyond foolish. Until she could form a better arrangement with the school, she would be stuck living with these two girls and it would simply be easier to put on her 'friendly face' not that she'd actually used it much today. With another slight twitch of her eye, Saya flawlessly transitioned into something of a friendly smile, in return. Though to those paying close attention they might notice it was at least somewhat forced. "Ah... Nice to meet you Chase-san. Name's Saya..." She hesitated where one would normally provide their surname for a moment. "Just Saya..." She said picking up her plastic bag from the floor and glancing in to check if the meal was ruined or not. Surprisingly enough, while it had flipped over, the lid didn't pop off, so it would still be good to eat, at the very least. |

"Hey Star, our mystery girl roommate is here!" "Roommate?" Star looked up from where she had been reading a book, her feet propped up on the desk and her chair tilted all the way back. Her head swiveled towards the door. The chair tilted back further and Star squealed, flailing her arms and legs in an attempt to stabilize it. The squeal was followed by a thud, and a quiet "...ow..." "That's one way to hit the books..." muttered Star under her breath as she untangled herself from the chair, getting to her feet. She rubbed at the back of her head with her hand, then attempted to straighten out her hair and clothes. "I'm okay!" she shouted towards the living room. Star took a deep breath and rubbed at her side where the corner of the book hit her. That was going to leave a bruise. She ignored it for now and stepped out into the living room, grinning at the new girl. "Hi," she said, sticking out her hand. "I'm Star Ricci. I'm a sophomore like Jen-chan. It's nice to meet you!" |

Saya leaned back a moment furrowing her eyebrows at the sudden squealing and subsequent thud. There was a bit of movement and muttering that the red-head hadn't quite caught before the girl called out that she was in fact okay. After another moment or so this one emerged from her room introducing herself and sticking out her hand. She stared at it for a moment, Namida-sama had done the same thing, that western thing right? Well, with the names of these two girls they were probably foreigners anyways. Saya pushed the thoughts aside for the moment and with almost a confused expression on her face took and shook the hand a few times. "Nice to meet you Ricci-san. Name's Saya and as far as grade goes this is my last year." She said throwing on that faux smile again. That's right, it was her last year. Even if she was stuck in this dorm for the entirety of it, she probably wouldn't be spending so much time 'at home' anyways. (Especially now that it wouldn't be the quiet sanctuary she'd been hoping for.) With one energetic roommate, and one clumsy one she was certain her already low tolerance for others would be pushed past the breaking point and she really didn't need to get into any official trouble in her last year. After all she'd done fairly well, despite all of the constant fighting, to never have gotten sent to skipmo. She'd heard the so-called horror stories, but honestly thought that anyone who was scared of it was simply spinelss. But she was smart enough to not get into trouble in school, and there was no need to go seeking it out. Saya moved quietly over to the diningarea and pulled her convenience-store meal from it's plastic bag and sat down starting to eat it. She would probably have to go thug-hunting this week, it seemed she was starting to run out of money again. And then there was the issue of an actual job, but she'd have to put a lot of thought into what she'd be able to do, after all 'A sword cannot become craftsman's scissors just because it no longer has a war to be used in.'. The red-head frowned, her expression becoming rather serious as she thought about her rather bleak-looking future. |

"Ah... Nice to meet you Chase-san. Name's Saya..." the redhead replied. Chase... san? God, that sounded SO formal. Yet, at the same time the purple-haired girl couldn't help but feel the redhead sounded almost patronizing to be addressing her in such a way. Jen however was snapped out of her reverie by a thud and a squeal coming from the back. "Mein gott! Star?" the purple-haired girl spun around to look at the back of the room, turning her attention away from Saya for the time-being as she called out worriedly, only to have the photomancer reply that she was okay as she appeared shortly after in the living room wearing her usual sunny grin. "Hi, I'm Star Ricci. I'm a sophomore like Jen-chan. It's nice to meet you!" the blond girl greeted, and to add emphasis Jen stood next to Star with a cheerful smile and gestured towards Star like as though she were introducing a celebrity to her fans. "Nice to meet you Ricci-san. Name's Saya and as far as grade goes this is my last year." The redhead revealed herself to be a senior. "Wow, nice... probably thinking of the future at this point huh?" Jen commented as Saya headed over to the dining area and prepared to have her dinner - a cheap meal bought from a convenience store. "Since we're roomies and all, I say feel free to help yourself to the stuff Star and I have in the fridge," Jen said as she headed over to the small kitchen area for students who preferred to cook their own meals, opening the fridge to take out a can of Dr. Pepper soda. |

Star frowned slightly as Saya stared at her hand in confusion before shaking it, glancing at the older girl. Judging from the way she was acting, Star guessed that she was one of the more traditional Japanese. Most of the others at Hyakuji were a little bit more relaxed when it came to formality. The photomancer watched Saya for a moment, nodding once as Jen said that she was welcome to whatever they had in the fridge. "Definitely!" said Star. "Help yourself to whatever you can find, although I might not have much, considering Tsukasa-sensei can be such a cheapskate sometimes." Honestly, if it wasn't for the fact that Star secretly loved books and the lazy pace of the bookstore, as well as the daily interactions with Arcadians and whoever came looking for Tsukasa-sensei, she would probably be handing in an application at the cafe. But messing with Tarin was just way too much fun. "Also, I guess I might have freaked you out a little," said Star with a small giggle as she clasped her hands in front of her. "Sorry about that. This school has a lot of foreigners like me, so I'm kind of used to people acting like it. But it's really nice to meet you, Saya-sempai." Star smiled brightly, bowing to the older girl from the waist. "Yoroshiku onegai shimasu." |

Help yourself to whatever you can find, although I might not have much, considering Tsukasa-sensei can be such a cheapskate sometimes." Saya only nodded slightly at the first part, thinking was all she seemed to be doing though. She raised an eyebrow when Chase-san and Ricci-san both agreed that she could use whatever they had in the fridge. Somewhat warily the red-head cast a sidelong glance at the fridge. "real food" huh? "... That... won't be necessary." She paused choosing her next words carefully. "It will be safer for everyone if I stay away from food preparation altogether..." Saya stated simply without even a hint of a joking tone in her voice. She would have simply said that she can't cook, but to be perfectly honest it would a dire understatement... "Sorry about that. This school has a lot of foreigners like me, so I'm kind of used to people acting like it. But it's really nice to meet you, Saya-sempai. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu." Saya shook her head slightly. "I should be used to it. Sometimes it seems Hyakuji isn't even part of Japan." She said in something of a light tone (for her anyways,) and returned the bow, the girl was observant and at the very least was attempting to be accommodating so Saya might as well return the niceties though it had been quite some time since she use them hadn't she? "Kochirakoso yoroshiku onegai shimasu." |
