"Gah! Lavie-nyan! What are you doi-" but it was too late. Although Cerium had delivered a decent blow to the violet haired woman, Lavender was now using that to her advantage and seizing the oppurtunity to throw Cerium entirely off balanace. It all seemed like one big spinning whirling motion, before Cerium realized that Lavender had overpowered her and was seconds away from slamming her into the mat beneath them. Cerium instinctively tucked her head into her chest and pulled in her arms, trying her best to brace for the inevitable fall. The last seconds took forever, as if time was painfully slowing down just so that Cerium had to suffer the greatest anticipation a fight could offer.

And then it happened. She felt her body convulse slightly as he entire being hit the mat hard, thanks to her not exactly being the smallest person. Her eyes blurred for a moment, having been closed and then opened again before getting to time to re-adjust. He head was ringing slightly from the impact and the back of her body was aching and the pain was slowly pushing its way through her. Still her body was tucked as much as possible, with the exception, Cerium began to realize of her leg, which was being held by Lavender, who's face was simply inches from her own.

Cerium's face was already somewhat flushed thanks to having been slammed, but the colour intensified slightly as she began to comprehend the position from which Lavender was controlling her leg, "Lavie-nyan...." she said, her voice but a whisper due to having to catch her breath. However, as he senses began to return to her, Cerium focused, "I haven't even had a man do this yet! And here you are-! Argh!" she said somewhat vexed, but her blood not entirely boiled over the turn of events.

Cerium let her arms come away from the side of her body, moving out and both fists forming into a closed palm, where the knuckles of the index and middle fingers protruded out more than the rest of the knuckles. The move was an ideal, sturdy point striking technique and Cerium knew exactly how to use it with both of Lavender's arms being occupied. Cerium's fist flew towards either side of Lavender's ribs, aiming to strike between the ribs for maximum effect. Cerium was ensuring not to be using the strikes in a deadly fashion, but with any luck the pain would cause Lavender to react in a way that would allow her to escape.

Lavender's takedown attempt had caught the taller girl off-guard as the aeromancer tackled Cerium by the waist, lifting her into the air before turning the ferromancer's body around and falling down to the mat to land on her back, with Lavender resting on top of Cerium, the aeromancer feeling the solid thump of two bodies hitting the mat - although Cerium would no doubt feel it a lot more than herself. Without thinking twice, having trained frequently in ground fighting, the aeromancer was quick to assert her dominance over the taller girl as she seized one of Cerium's legs, twisting and turning in an attempt to get the ferromancer into position and set her up for a submission technique - or in this case, a leg lock.

"Lavie-nyan...." Cerium's voice came as a whisper, possibly due to being winded up the slam, although for a split second there Lavender did gain a momentary distraction from her focused state of mind as she noticed how flushed Cerium had gotten - and then there was what the ferromancer said next. "I haven't even had a man do this yet! And here you are-! Argh!" the taller girl regained focus pretty fast, and sounded rather vexed, although it appeared to have less to do with getting tackled and bodyslammed and more to do with their current postures. Of course Lavender knew - ground fighting has always been somewhat of a shock to the uninitiated, and not to mention all the "homoerotic" remarks that detractors like to give it. Being trained to do that all the time of course the aeromancer thought little about it.

But being centered around stand-up fighting thanks to her Chinese Wushu background, this must be a whole new experience for Cerium; and although Lavender didn't think she would be one to get unsettled by such a thing. (seeing how the ferromancer didn't seem shy in the least about intimate body contact at times) Apologies would be appropriate once this sparring session was over; but first-

"Gah!" Lavender cried out as a sharp pain exploded on either side of her ribs; now it was the aeromancer's turn to be taken by surprise as the quickly-recovering Cerium countered with two simultaneous strikes to the aeromancer's ribs with her fists using the knuckles of her index and middle finger - known as a "Phoenix Eye punch" in Chinese martial arts circles - the key was to narrow down the point of impact into a spear-like point, greatly increasing the pressure exerted by the blow. When aimed at the right spots, the results can be devastating. Being totally unprepared for the strike meant hitting Lavender while she still had breath in her lungs as Cerium's blow struck her between the ribs, giving the aeromancer the nasty sensation of being winded as the blow knocked the breath right out of Lavender's lungs.

The aeromancer's body jerked as a reflex action, causing her to roll off Cerium's body, tumbling along the mat to stop slightly short of leg's reach away from the ferromancer before Lavender rose painfully into a half-kneeling position, her left arm wrapped around her chest where the blow struck, just below the breasts, coughing a few times before taking in her breath in gasps. "Ouch... hey, my apologies to you, Ceri-chan. I didn't mean to make you feel - for the lack of a better word - violated." Cultural dissonance, don't you just love it sometimes? That being said, the aeromancer picked herself up to resume her fighting style, this time clearly with grappling in mind as the aeromancer assumed the stance that was taught to her in her Aikido and Aiki-Jujutsu lessons all those years ago - legs spaced at roughly shoulder distance apart, hands raised and placed in front of her body at chest level, palms open.

"No hard feelings, I hope? Or shall we call it an evening?" Lavender asked, her breathing still somewhat labored as her chest rose and fell with each breath, all the exertion of their sparring session now leaving the aeromancer similarly flushed as sweat rolled down from her temples, her damp amethyst bangs plastered over her forehead.

Cerium cough quitely as she rolled out of Lavender's hold after her strikes, her back still throbbing with pain and sadly could not stand up either, clutching her back with her hand as she seemed to almost mirror Lavender being in a crouched position. Cerium was not used to being thrown around. Punched, kicked, slashed and cut sure, but not thrown. She was breathing less heavily than Lavender, but that was when she slowly began to realize that she might have hit her friend harder than she had intended, especially in a place such as the ribs.

Cerium began to blush slightly, when she thought of the reason. She lowered her face slightly, some hair that had gotten loose falling over her eyes. She slowly got up after Lavender did, having listened to her speak her apologies when Cerium was the one who should have been apologising for reacting how she had. A little thing about Cerium that, well that nobody really knew, was the reason she acted how she normally did. If she always teased others like she normally did and never gave them enough footing to effectively tease her back, she was capable of disguising her inner thoughts and feelings.

Cerium could banter, easily enough, as normally she would still be controlling most of even that kind of conversation, but benig caught as physically flatfooted as she had, her spirit and drive to continue seemed to have dimished. She wasn't angry anymore, just very very embarressed. As she stood up, she didn't enter a fighting stance.

Her actions, like those of a child acting out and over something so silly....just made her feel so....
She went up to Lavender and hugged her, "I'm sorry Lavie-nyan, I shouldn't have hit you like that." She was hugging her friend gently, her face still in shadow, but a single tear seemed to break free from her eyes and drip down her face. Cerium slowly released Lavender and turned away, going to sit down. "I lost my cool over something so silly....you didn't mean anything by it but...."

I felt weak when my mind thought about if that situation had been with someone else and more....intimate....

"Are you alright, Ceri-chan?" Lavender asked as she relaxed her stance after realizing that Cerium wasn't resuming their sparring session after the ferromancer rose to her feet, similarly winded from the bodyslam as the taller girl hung her head low, her face partially obscured by stray hair that had gotten loose from the ferromancer's ponytail, hanging over her eyes as the aeromancer noticed a visible blush coming to Cerium's face. That, and the fact that she didn't resume a fighting stance as soon as she rose to her feet was a telltale sign that all wasn't quite right with the ferromancer's feelings.

And it was at this point that Cerium went over to Lavender to give the aeromancer a gentle hug - not the playful, teasing kind of hug that she knew the ferromancer was fond of doing (to both guys and girls alike) when the two of them were hanging out. It was more like the "kiss and make up" sort of hug between friends when one feels that s/he wronged the other and is seeking forgiveness and reconciliation. "I'm sorry Lavie-nyan, I shouldn't have hit you like that." the taller girl said, letting go of Lavender, her face still obscured although a single tear rolled down the ferromancer's cheeks as she did, turning away and sitting down. "I lost my cool over something so silly....you didn't mean anything by it but...."

"Don't take it too hard, Ceri-chan. I've taken far worse during practices," Lavender remarked as she sat down on the same bench as Cerium, although she kept a respectable distance from the ferromancer instead of almost touching shoulder-to-shoulder, and also sat facing an opposite direction as the taller girl. It certainly wasn't the hardest blow she'd taken in a non-competitive sparring match, as she recounted her training sessions with GLADIUS and the military. "Besides, we've all had our moments. There were also times when I thought I was all that, but then someone always had to come and show me that there's always a bigger fish out there."

That being said, the aeromancer got off the bench, going to the mat to cool down a cooldown drill, a set of gentle stretching and breathing exercises meant to relax the muscles and steady one's breathing after hard exertion, before heading over to where she had left her personal effects, reaching into the bag to retrieve not one - but two - sports drinks. "So, Ceri-chan... would you like one?" Lavender asked as she held up the two 500 ml bottles containing a citrus-flavored sports drink. "All that rigorous activity must have worked up quite a thirst, I bet."

Cerium listened to Lavender as she spoke, not being able to look at her just yet and thankful that her friend was not looking at her either. She ran the hand across her eyes to remove any risidule tears that might still be there. Lavender's words were reassuring. She knew that Lavender could take a hit, but Cerium had gotten serious in a fun training session over what was basically nothing but her own inner sensitivity. "I know you're right Lavie-nyan, its just that I wasn't expecting myself to act so....immature."

Cerium undid her ponytail, letting her fair fall loose for a moment before tying it up again. She took in a deep breath and slowly did her own little cool down routine from the bench, feeling an odd drain on her body and not really wanting to move. She looked up at Lavender started talking again, clearly done with her cool down routine. Cerium looked to see Lavender holding up a sports bottle for her and smiled meekly, getting up to go and take it from Lavender.

She took it from Lavender and paused for a moment, before hugging her friend, "Thanks Lavie-nyan," and secretly during the hug, one of Cerium's hands gently tickled Lavender's ear. She was back to normal, "I'm really glad I met you~" she said, pulling away from the hug and trying to act innocent.

A for a moment Cerium continued to avert Lavender's gaze, before running a hand over her eyes to wipe away the tears. "I know you're right Lavie-nyan, its just that I wasn't expecting myself to act so....immature." That being said, the ferromancer undid her ponytail, letting her hair fall loose for a moment before tying it back up again, taking in a deep breath before going about her own cooldown, in which Lavender was already waiting for her, offering the ferromancer a bottle of sports drink.

"I dunno if you're fond of citrus flavor, though," Lavender commented, chuckling sheepishly - sure, the two girls had gotten to know each other a good deal as friends, but still not to the point of knowing down to specific nitty-gritty such as favorite drink flavors and such. The taller girl smiled meekly as she got up, going over to Lavender to take the drink. Well, it was certainly comforting, Lavender thought as she returned Cerium's smile with her own sunny smile.

"Thanks Lavie-nyan," she replied, before taking the aeromancer in another hug - which although it came to Lavender as a surprise when she encountered it the first time, by now the aeromancer had come to accept it as a natural thing when it comes to Cerium.

"Don't mention it, Ceri-chan... nya!?" Lavender felt that familiar, embarrassing sensation the moment she felt the taller girl's fingers tickle her long elf-like ears.

"I'm really glad I met you~" Cerium commented with a look of feigned innocence as she pulled away from the hug, while Lavender flushed pink in the cheeks, but not from the earlier physical exertion as the aeromancer chuckled nervously and scratched the back of her ear, the one that Cerium has tickled. The ferromancer was right in that they were a weak point - they are a rather sensitive region, and although the aeromancer would never say this to anyone... in ways more than one.

"And as I was saying, you're welcome, Ceri-chan," Lavender gave a throaty "ahem", before placing a hand on her chest over where her heart is, eyes closed and head bowed slightly in an attempt to appear demure, although the blush in her cheeks betrayed what she was really feeling on the inside. "So, aye. If you're looking for another girls' hangout, or maybe a training partner or someone to have a little girl talk with... call me anytime!" Lavender smiled and winked after recovering from her awkwardness, picking up her jacket before draping it over her shoulders.

"Despite what happened just now... it was quite the evening, I say. So, another day then, Ceri-chan!" Lavender remarked with a friendly smile, pausing to stand with her hands by her side and giving the taller girl a bow before retrieving her bag and heading for the doors.

As Cerium slowly drank the citrus flavored liquid, she smile at Lavender and responded, "I don't hate it~ I would have to say that my favorite would be anything grape thought." she drank a bit more, raising the bottle higher, no longer drinking so gingerly, causing her breasts to bounce slightly due to the action of raising her elbow higher. Cerium smiled, wiping her lips once she'd taken the swig of juice.

Cerium was pensive for a moment, realizing that since she'd gotten here she hadn't really been honest around anyone and Lavender...well Lavender was her first friend here in Hyakuji. Cerium was more relaxed around her and hopefully, it could be more so with others. She giggled watching the heat rise in Lavender's cheeks, her blush was apparent and the way she was flustered seemed to possibly indicate something...more.

Cerium's eyes became cat-like, a sense of knowing shrouding her. However, the look soon left her face as she waved goodbye to her friend, "I'll definitely keep in touch~! You have yourself a good evening~" Cerium watched Lavender leave. Cerium turned around pacing a short distance through the gym and finishing her drink.

"She's really sweet...."

Cerium stood there for a moment, clutching the bottle to her chest, before heading over to her own bag, picking it up and leaving, ensuring the gym lights were off and the doors were locked before she did.
