...

It was a blank stare really. Altlene wasn't really sure how to approach the matter, more so thanks to the new information she had learned. Though, for once in her her short life here in Hyakuji she'd be a little more assertive of herself. It was probably a poor decision on her part but...she couldn't continue her duty knowing her master was doing something dangerous without her knowledge.

"Master...are you hiding something from me?" she lapsed into one of the default MMS designations for their owner, the 'Master' in English. It was a sign she was a little serious since she did try to be as informal as possible around Yuri, even if she couldn't do so completely. "I'm...worried I'm not doing enough for you..." it was the half truth really, though the matter of her own problems regarding the whole Machine Empire future could wait.

"Master…are you hiding something from me?"

!

There is an irksome feeling within Yuri's heart when Altlene said that. It was a strange feeling that she has not felt up until now, ever since she came out from the Solomon Mansion, remembering everything she has experienced. It is as though her heart has skipped a beat, and her body has, definitely, reacted to that skip of a beat- her body stirred uncomfortably, even for that one second.

Her mind also went blank for a minute afterwards. What is she supposed to do, now that Altlene questions her about hiding something from her? Is she supposed to verbally say something? Is she supposed to act a certain way? Should she be responding at all? How should she respond?

"I'm...worried I'm not doing enough for you..."

Oh, so that's what it is?

Yuri lets out a soft breath unconsciously.

The muscles between Yuri's browns constricted a little, and the girl stands up. She moves towards Altlene, and raises onto her tip-toe. She raises her hand up in the air, pauses a little, before finally awkwardly pats Altlene on the head. However, given that Yuri is actually REALLY short, Altlene may need to help a little with that action.

"Don't worry. You are doing enough," Yuri hears herself say. Is this the way that she ought to act if she wants Altlene to feel better? After all, whenever she sees Altlene upset, serious, or not half as cheerful as she is, it upsets Yuri's stomach, and makes her feel terrible. What kind of "terrible" this is, Yuri knows not. All that she knows is, it is not a comfortable feeling.

And to think that this is actually originating from her… That brings another layer of uncomforted as is.

However, it is true. Yuri is hiding something from Altlene. More than one thing, actually. But how would Altlene react if she tells her all of these things all at once? Will Altlene leave her?

"B-But it is true that I have something to tell you." Yuri takes a deep breathe, and begins. For some reason, her words stuttered. It is as if she has done something wrong, and has decided to tell Altlene about it. Why'd she stutter on her words physically? Yuri has no clue. It just came out that way.

"Do you want to hear the good news first, or the bad news first?" The girl pulls a smile on her face, trying to seem as natural as possible.

"...I have no preference with that request."

This is where Altlene visibly tensed up. She wasn't sure what to actually say or do at this point. Though, all she knew was that once she learned what was going on she'd have to make her own decision for once. While typically the optimal choice was to merely support her master, at the same time if what she was doing was going to be self destructive, she'd have to actually put her foot down....though at the same time Altlene was questioning herself.

She had a right to be concerned but...her initial programming made her support her master provided it was within certain boundaries. And yet, thanks to that Oni speaking with her, that concern had slowly grew. Her self awareness really was getting more and more advanced...

"… Eh?" Yuri tilts her head. Her smile froze, as she tries to think of what Altlene actually mean when she said she had no preference.

The girl looks at Altlene carefully, attempting to analyze the robot's facial expression, trying to search for a hint, even a small one, as to how she should start this conversation without feeling lost. She has no idea what Altlene is expecting from her as Altlene's master, nor does she know anything about what Altlene would think about what she planned to say.

The fact that Altlene didn't give off any hints about her preferences in her expression threw Yuri off guard. So now what does she do?

"… Okay." Difficultly adjusting herself back to her pretense, the girl raises her voice again, only in a little more awkward tone- a tone of unfamiliarity- and continues. "The good news is, I can remember things now." The girl says, yet nothing on her face, or in her tone, hinted any sort of happiness that she was supposed to have.

After all, she cannot associate what she is feeling right now to her bodily system to create an expression of pure happiness, let alone expressing it. The fact that she knows of the grave price she actually paid for this ability to remember didn't make it any easier for the girl. But that is something that Altlene do not have to know. Not yet, at least.

It is then that the uncertainty within Yuri grows a little more as she stares at Altlene, trying to figure out what Altlene would do in reaction to her news.

But then, when Yuri now gets to think about it a little more, maybe it was too much for her to actually ask for an emotional response from Altlene. After all, Altlene is a robot- and a robot who exists to serve, too. It is only natural that the final decision choice comes back to her. Altlene will probably not be making any decisions at all, as long as she stays as her master.

Which makes this second news a rather convenient news to deliver.

"The bad news is, I have decided to move in with you," Yuri continues to look at Altlene, observing any stir or emotion that she may express, and tries to react accordingly to what Altlene gives her to work with, even that may mean she has to work with as little information as there may be.

… But the way that Yuri has delivered both of these news are so bland and void of emotion and expression, it is only natural for Altlene to notice something, right?

While Altlene was indeed a robot, her ability to emote was neigh uncanny, so the news was...actually rather uplifting for her. Her master had found a solution to her memory problem and even more she was opting to live with her from this point on. She actually looked...visibly happy, her face was practically beaming despite herself. Of course, it was only momentary as there was a tug at her chest. After the initial wave of losing herself to her emotions, her thought processes kicked in.

Even a robot could pick up on odd behavioral patterns after a while. She was designed to learn and adapt by observing. Even if her time 'alive' was short, she could pick out traits and peculiarities in someone's attitude if she knew someone to this extent. As such, Yuri's behavior right now just made her act, rather than casually accept the news as fact.

"Several inquiries, Master." it was slight, but there was a twitch in her eyebrow. Was she...annoyed for some reason? "Why is moving in with me considered bad news? While I certainly have no complaints about the setup, I find it mildly...offensive." so far it just seemed like a normal reaction to such a statement. Was she really that bad to be around that moving in would be a problem? It brought up several things in her mind all in all but chose to focus on the important things.

"Further, I do wish to repeat my question of whether or not you're...hiding something from me. I will respect your privacy, but if it overrides my need to look out for your well-being..." she was serious. She didn't...like this feeling of being lied to, and as such she was asserting herself more than usual. "I will have to ignore your wishes and do something of my own volition, because even I can tell it's strange that news, good or bad, can be delivered with no emotion." it was ironic a robot was talking about feeling, but at the same time Altlene wasn't your average robot.

Despite the rather drastic, yet normal, change of emotion displayed on Altlene's part, her master's facial expression remained the same way.

To be more exactly, the girl's expression has begin to cool down when Altlene's expression changes for the one with a slight annoyance. By the end of the inquiry, the girl has a complete bland expression on. Her eyes, however, does express something of the nature of shock when she realizes how upset Altlene may be with her.

She knew not what went wrong. But one thing for sure, she somehow messed up.

She doesn't know what kind of a face she should put on.

And when she can't even register what kind of an expression she should put up on her face, how'd she even be able to tell the muscles on her face to move?

To be very honest, Yuri doesn't understand why Altlene is upset. She couldn't tell which word in her sentence offended the robotic maid. Was it because she thought that she moving in with Altlene may create trouble for the maid, thus calling it a bad thing, and making Altlene upset? Or is this the fact that she doesn't…

It seems that she is right on both guesses.

Yuri closes her eyes, and absorbs every single word that Altlene has just threw at her. The last sentence of all has definitely made it impossible, however, for her to even try and think of a pretense anymore.

Altlene is right. It is strange for her to be able to deliver news with no emotion. And at this point, this is only going to get worse if she continues to hide this from her, right? If she cannot even tell Altlene who will, out of obligation be forced to, accept her for entirely who she is, regardless of what kind of a person she is, then this pretense will never end. She has no self confidence for this pretense to last, either. After all, it is only possible to hide something for a moment, but not away from a person who you will face on a daily basis.

At this point, Yuri no longer sees a point to hide.

"I only think of it as a bad news to you because that may mean I will be creating a lot of trouble for you, Altlene-san." The girl opens her eyes again, and looks at Altlene, her eyes now void of emotion. "I don't think it as a good news to have someone who may wake up one day and forget about everything she ever remembered, including her way to express emotion, to live in the same house as myself."

Now standing up, the girl raises her eyes to meet Altlene's in equal, despite that their height are rather different, "What I do not understand, however, is the reason for you to act negatively towards my comment. Which part of my speech was, as you stated, offensive? And how was it offensive?" The girl asks, in a very matter of fact form, disregarding the fact that what she has said may as well have been a stab to the heart of anyone who has known her before hand- Given that Yuri is not hiding it anymore, Altlene can probably draw her conclusion from here on.

Realizing that this demonstration of her perplexity of emotion may have come off a little more sudden that Altlene may have expected it to be, Yuri lowers her eyes. Even though she knows for a fact that she has lost her way to feel, she still feels a very uncomfortable feeling from Altlene whenever she displays some negative emotion, such as when she looks stern, or when her brow twitched like that earlier on.

Upon noticing Altlene's eyebrow twitching, she realizes, too, that Altlene may actually be more human than she is.

"This is the answer to your second question," The girl, now looking down, proceeds to sit down, and stares at the cracker in front of her. "I wanted to hide it, but it seem to be futile."

She closes her eyes again.

What sort of expression will Altlene make now? Will she proceed to ask who or what caused it? Will she be disappointed? Will she want to leave?

... No. She doesn't want Altlene to leave.

That much she knows.

But it will only be fair for Altlene to be able to choose a better master, right?

"... You..." Yuri lowers her eye gaze even lower, almost seemed ashamed of herself for saying so, "... don't have to have me as your master, if you wish not to."

Of course, she doesn't wish to ever bring up the fact that she wanted memories to begin with was for simple fact of to be able to remember everything that she ever does with Altlene, the very first person she ever thought she would want to so badly remember things for.

"You made it seem like it'd be a bother to live with me...especially when you imply it's bad news." Altlene responded, puffing out her cheeks a bit as she did so. Well, even she was capable of getting mad, that just proved that she was as human like as can be. Of course, that humanity worked as a double edged sword in the end, as the anger disappeared and...she looked as if she was going to cry. Given her nature, she would assume the worst and rather than pressing the matter further...

"...I see...so I really am I bother."

Rather than thinking Yuri was telling her that she herself was unfit...Altlene thought she was the one unfit for work. She took it wrong and as such...all she could do was stand up, clenching her chest as hard as she could. While her heart wasn't real, it still felt as it should. All the pain was there...and it was making it hard for her to think properly.

Instead, there was only one thing she could do right now. "...I need...some time to myself..." she didn't know what to say or do..and as such, the only 'logical' thing she could think of was try and run away. She was full of nothing but glitches anyway...maybe she deserved it.

The only response that Yuri could do, is tilt her head. If there is one bit of emotion that she was capable of showing, was her puzzlement in her eyes.

What does it mean, that it is a bother to live with Altlene? That was not one bit of what she was intending. If anything, she would have thought it to be a bother for Altlene that she is living with her. To begin with, if she had thought it to be a bother in the first place, she would not have even suggested it, right? It will be rather… illogical for her to suggest it while finding it a bother, no?

How, though, did Altlene get that implication?

Though, the fact that Altlene looked as if she was going to cry has hit a string in Yuri's heart and mind. Her expression was a huge rock placed upon Yuri's heart, and there seems to be no way for her to remove it, at all. Why is that she feels this way? Is it because Yuri knows for a fact that she has been the person who has caused the robot so much pain, and yet have no idea or ability how to fix it up?

She doesn't even know…

But it would appear rather clear to her that she is the cause of all Altlene's sadness right now- if she couldn't tell that one bit at least from her past experience, she may as well be dead- and as Altlene has implied, her being here is not going to help the situation.

Maybe if she explain herself better, something good is going to come out of it. But as it is right now, all Yuri sees that she is doing to Altlene when she talks, is that she is doing nothing but harm and damage to her. That was nowhere near her original intend of fighting so hard for her own memories. Her original intend, when she decided to search for Illist Fray, was that she was greedy. She wanted to remember her times with Altlene, by herself, and remember all of it. She wanted both of them to be….

Happy.

But what she has expected deviated a lot from what she wanted. Far, far more different than what she has wanted, actually. As it is right now, neither of them are… in any way, shape or form "happy". Even though Yuri herself doesn't grasp that idea anymore, she could still wish for Altlene to be a little more happy than the serious face she saw earlier on. But no, she has ruined it instead.

"…. I…. "Yuri opens her mouth, and closed it again.

Should she even bother trying to explain? What if it would make Altlene even more sad than before?

"…. I understand." The girl voices again, in her bland, void-of-emotion tone. "I… will take my leave then."

Even though she says such thing, her tongue still tastes a spoonful of vinegar and salt, spawning from her throat. This unwelcoming feeling… What is the term for it again?

She stands up from her seat, look at Altlene one more time, before heading towards the corridor. There is a lot of things beyond what she has just told Altlene that she wanted to say, but it would seem that she has killed all of the chances that she could use to talk to Altlene over her way of telling Altlene things. And the more she thinks about it….

"Gomenasai, Altlene-san, for…." Yuri voices out her thoughts, almost to herself, "Being a broken Master."

This… shouldn't be happening. But what is with the sudden pain jerk in her nose? She thought that… only when you feel great happiness or great sadness do you tear. But she feels nothing right now.

… How did water begin to form, then?
