Hyakuji 2.0 Template Character Name: Yuki Tsukiyoru Gender: Female Age: 17 Height: 157 cm / ~5'2" Weight: 47 kg / ~105 lbs Description or Image of Character Appearance: ![]() Yuki is an average size girl, not particularly weak or strong physically. Her long, pinkish hair is a point of pride for her, and it is coupled with a set of green eyes and light skin. Non-school attire usually comprises of skirts, dresses, jeans, t-shirts, tanktops, and any cute accessories she can find. In general, her clothes usually reflect her quasi-girlish tendencies (ribbons and ruffles!). She loves to play dress-up whenever she gets the chance and experiment with new hairstyles, though unless it's the weekend, she's usually found in her uniform. Occupation: Student Grade Level: Junior Powers/ Abilities: Nora
少名毘古那 (Sukunabikona) 雷神 (Raijin) 八幡神 (Hachiman) Equipment You Have:
Residency Request: Yuki, Room 301 Schedule: - The Arts - Cooking - Supernatural Studies Personality Description: Yuki's personality tends to fluctuate based on the situation, but she does have norms. When thrown into a brand new setting where she is unfamiliar with the location or people, she tends to be quite shy but still friendly. On the flip side, once she establishes a friendship with someone, she comes out of her box and is very kind, funny, and ambitious. She loves doing things that make people happy, and in contrast goes out of her way to avoid disappointing people. The optimism seems very genuine, despite her recent dark history. Severely loyal and trustworthy, she will go to the ends of the earth for friends and family. Her ambition causes her to set very high goals for herself. She may get upset when they are not achieved, but this is also the reason she does so well in school. She hates extreme heat and humidity, but loves bundling up in scarves, hats, and mittens in the winter time... unless it's just too cold to go outside. Despite the fact that she wants people to view her as a well-poised young woman, Yuki often finds herself running into doors, tripping over cracks in the sidewalk, or slipping down flights of stairs at the most inconvenient of times. She'll stand up and laugh it off, but inwardly will be crushed with embarrassment (usually apparent when her face flares up). Another trait of hers that can be either endearing or annoying is her naivety and obliviousness to the rumor mill. She may try to play it off like she knows what's going on, but this has a 50/50 chance of coming back to make her look even more dumb. Yuki has very high moral standards and finds things like sneaking into buildings or cheating on tests near-impossible feats. That's not to say she won't break down a door if someone is in trouble. Although she has Nora with her in case things turn ugly, Yuki dislikes confrontation with a passion and will do anything to avoid it. This even goes down to the lowest level, such as someone messing up her food order and her simply "dealing with it." It usually takes a very touchy subject for her to get riled up, but if someone close to her is threatened, consider the flood gates open. Other than that, she swoons at cute accessories or school supplies, falls in love with every small furry animal she sees, and never turns down a trip to a cafe for some treats! Personal History: Yuki Tsukiyoru was born into an average family in a small village near Akita, a city on the western coast of Japan. She did not have the benefit of a prestigious school, nor was she scrounging for food--her existence was just like most people's. She grew up with her mother, father, and during the last few years her grandparents moved back in so they could be better cared for. Her family was fairly well liked throughout the town, and they were best known for the small temple they owned that overlooked the sea. It was a humble place, by no means a tourist attraction, but it provided refuge for those wishing to say prayers or meditate. Wishing to teach her responsibility, Yuki's parents would send her up to the temple before she started attending school, and during the occasional weekend, to help with the maintenance. Yuki's grandparents were the primary overseers of the temple, but age caught up with them and the responsibility for the temple was passed onto Yuki's mother. Sweeping, raking, and floor cleaning were typical duties, but the time spent with her grandmother learning about her abilities over a cup of tea was the time she cherished the most. They did a good job of maintaining a humble reputation, but in reality the Tsukiyoru clan were a long line of people able to communicate with the deceased, and then some. Every so often individuals would come to the temple and request to say either final goodbyes or hellos to lost loved ones, but these were always performed by Yuki's mother or grandmother, never herself. They did not advertise this trait out of concern for attracting the wrong people or attention, so only close family and friends were aware. Yuki had seen her share of spirits and communicated with them, but she was still learning how to contact specific individuals. One spirit she was particularly familiar with was Nora, a companion she has had since before she could remember. Bestowed upon each of their family members at birth, Nora was Yuki's Spiritual Guardian, a small cat-like animal that followed her from place to place and acted as protector and companion. Although unable to talk, Yuki felt they had a strong bond and talked to her as if normal conversations were being held. It took years and a lot of weird stares, but Yuki mastered the art of interacting with Nora and not looking like she was talking to herself. Life proceeded on as usual, and overall their lives were peaceful and pleasant. No historical background is complete without some conflict. At the end of her freshman year of high school, the Tsukiyoru Temple fell under attack, something Yuki still does not understand. Why on earth would anyone attack a temple, especially with no known enemies? Yuki rushed to the scene to find her grandmother and mother commanding spirits to fight back in an attempt to defeat the enemy. Her grandfather and father were each standing by their respective wives, offering their energy for the attacks as only the women in the family had the ability to command the spiritual world. Boulders were shattering, holes were blasted through buildings, and trees were being cut down to splinters with each attack thrown back and forth--it was a truly terrible sight to behold. This was an ability Yuki had never witnessed before and had only heard about once or twice, but its power was incredible. What were they fighting...who was it... were those robots?? She'd never seen any technology as advanced as that, and couldn't understand why something of that caliber was being used for this purpose. Mid-attack her mother demanded Nora immediately get Yuki out of the area, and in seconds Nora shifted to her true, lion-like form, scooped up Yuki onto her back and swept her out of the area. The girl's eyes widened in disbelief and fear as she made eye contact with her parents and grandparents; the look she received seemed so...final. As they sped off, Yuki pulled on Nora's fur to get her to turn around, screaming after her family members with tears streaming down her cheeks. There had to be something she could do, how could she run away at a time like this? Moments later, the area she had just left was enveloped in a giant dome of blinding light, buildings and trees were shaken by the ground below them, and a huge blast of wind and debris nearly knocked her off of Nora. Clinging to the animal, she clenched her teeth and shut her eyes until the effects of the blast subsided, but fearing danger still lurked, Nora continued onward with the trembling girl who so desperately wanted to know if her family had survived. After awakening from crying herself to sleep during the travel, she realized she was in a strange room. Nora, once again compact, slept next to her on the bed. She quickly sat upright as the door to the room opened, and she realized it was her mother's sister, Maaya. Without saying a word her aunt approached her, sat down on the edge of the bed, and brought her close in a comforting embrace. Realizing her worst fears, Yuki broke down in a fresh wave of tears and clung to her aunt. She was later given a letter written to her from her parents, apologizing for not telling her what events were going to occur before it was too late. Anticipating the battle well in advance, they took the liberty of enrolling her in a new school near her Aunt Maaya, far from where they lived. They hoped future conflict could be avoided, and this was the best they could do for her if they ended up being unable to neutralize the threat. Life went on for Yuki as a resident of her aunt's apartment, though she was constantly wondering who those enemies were, if they were trying to find her, and if she would be ready if they did. Far from complete in her spiritual training, all Yuki could do was trial and error experimentation on learning how to master her abilities. Half afraid of missing her family even more if she contacted them, and half wanting to know what happened that day, Yuki was torn on continuing to develop her skills. Despite this traumatic event, she was always taught to never look back, so she does her best to maintain her personality and optimistic approach to life. Transferring to the new school would be a challenge, leaving all of her old friends behind, but she knew her family wanted the best for her, and so that's what she would give them.
