At first, Asris thought that perhaps she should just head straight for the transportation center and get out of this mad town. But there were a few things that prevented her from doing this.

The first of which being the fact that she'd just ripped holes in the back of her clothes, meaning she'd need new ones unless she expected to either stay in her true form at all times (Because she totally didn't look weird enough normally) or freeze.

Being unsatisfied with either option, the demon girl decided to head downtown instead, for the purchase of a new coat at the very least...

The demon slowly started her decent, circling downwards, landing softly before instantly shifting back into her more humanoid form. However, she hadn't anticipated just how many people would be around... She could feel the stares of those around her and based on previous experience with a resident of this town, needless to say it made her extremely nervous...

Biting her lower lip a bit and pulling her coat closer around her (Not that it helped with two big holes straight to her back) she kept a wary eye on those around her as she stepped into the mall.

She took deliberate steps, swallowing nervously and visibly tensing whenever someone got within arms length. It took a lot of willpower to keep from bursting into tears again, her mind almost frantic as she wondered whether or not any of these people were the same as that boy...

Slowly she made her way through, nervously looking around, mostly watching the people around her but also trying to find a store that would be selling a nice hefty winter coat to replace the torn one she was wearing now...

"Wait, Youma! Hold on!"

"Mou, hurry up! You're too slow!"

"What's the rush anyway?"

You do remember that there's an electronic shop on the way there, right?

"Oh yea..."

Well, he probably shouldn't be complaining too much, what with all the stuff that has been happening nowadays it's probably a good thing for him to loosen up a bit. Their last WDA mission had been a great mood-downer, and he sorta needed something to cheer himself up. Adding the fact that V's now public knowledge (or at least, publicly known to Jameson), yea, he really needs some time off.

And despite all of her irritation-inducing antics, Youma proved to be a very good company whenever he needs one. "Come on, you're slower than a snail!" She said, tossing her arms up in irritation from a couple dozens of yards away. Seth couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. "Coming, coming!" Seriously, despite being a ghost (half-ghost) with over seven hundred years of life experience, she still acts like a kid. And albeit him constantly telling her to act her age, he couldn't help but like her better when she's acting childish like this and all. Not that he'd tell her to her face. Well, maybe he would, just to tease her. His walk became a light jog as he went to catch up with Youma- "Augh!"

No need to ask just how did that happen, but he managed to run headlong into someone who seemed to have just appeared out of nowhere. He managed to regain his footing before completely losing his balance. "Uh- I'm, uwah!" Had that been just him, he wouldn't have been able to react that fast. But thanks to V he can, as his hand shot out like a snake, grabbing the person he just crashed into, whom turned out to be a girl with some peculiar markings on her face before she could touch the ground. "Awh- S-sorry, sorry! Are you alright?"

Asris was simply minding her own business, making her way through the mall when--

"Augh!"

"U-uwaah!"
Before she even knew what was happening, Asris had been bumped into rather rudely, (How did she not see him coming? She thought she was being so careful...) but before she could hit the floor she was caught.

That would be the second time today... second time...

A sudden look of pure terror flashed across her face as she scrambled to stand upright on her own feet, pushing the boy away roughly before raising her arms up in front of her to cover herself defensively. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!! P-please don't throw me off a building!!" She yelped, her tall but lean form trembling rather terribly as she cowered before the somewhat shorter boy.

"H-huh...?" Wait, what is she talking about? Throw off- you know, that's really quite some disturbing thoughts going through her mind. Why would he want to throw her off a building? "Uhm... uh, it-it's alright, I'm not gonna throw you off a building!" He said frantically in a mediocre attempt to cheer her up, feeling uneasy at the scathing stares the people around them are giving him.

"Oi! Lolicon, what are you idling around for? The televisions, er... I mean, the BOOKS are not gonna watch -READ- itself-"

She froze at the eldritch scenery of which she had just encountered, a scenery of which was incomprehensible by men, machine or mere spirits alike, a scene hated and despised by most sane beings that has, is and will live in this world. Her response? "...You made another girl cry again,"

"Wait, how can it be 'again'?! I didn't do anything!" He yelped in his defense, knowing full well that he just couldn't win given his typical luck in this sort of situation. He was pretty sure that wouldn't solve the situation though.

"Uhm... uh, it-it's alright, I'm not gonna throw you off a building!"

"I-I'm Sorry!!"
She yelped immediately before even registering what he'd said. Wait what? He wasn't? The black-haired girl raised her gaze a bit, glancing at him, a few tears having obviously made their way down her marked cheeks. Her red eyes shifted to another voice that seemed to be addressing the boy in front of her as she kept her arms up defensively. The tone from the shorter girl was obviously displeased but she didn't seem to be addressing Asris...

Her eyes moved back to the boy when he complained saying that he didn't do anything. Well, that was true, but honestly how could she be sure he wasn't planning to? Not to mention the shorter girl had said 'again' right? So that means he made other girls cry before.

Shaking slightly the red-eyed girl glanced between the two of them quickly wiping her eyes with one of her sleeves, quite unsure of what to do. "P...Please forgive me!" She said, her voice cracking a little as she slid back from them, maybe she could just make a run for it. Yeah that sounded like a good idea.

The girl certainly wasn't pleased and the boy had a history of making others cry, so they were probably weren't good people either were they?

...Hrm?

Hold on.

Youma took a deep breath, holding her breath for a moment before exhaling it with a loud sigh. So that's how it is, huh... Poor girl. "Ne, Seth," She said, giving him a funny little smirk that totally didn't suggest that she knew something that he didn't know at all. "Why don't you go and take a little walk around, go ahead before me... or do something else that doesn't involve you being anywhere near me at all?"

Seth blinked in confusion, opening his mouth to get some explanation out of the half-phantom, "H-huh? What are you- h-hey!" but he was greeted instead with a shove from Youma who was practically shooing him away. "Don't worry, I got this," She said simply, giving the boy a small wink and a grin. To which he could only stare in befuddlement.

But he didn't protest much after that. Giving her the benefit of the doubt (though not without anxiety) he left her alone with the girl, going for a quest in search of... something... to fill his free schedule... Maybe he could take a break at the arcade or something.

Youma stood there as he watched him leave, her hands planted on her sides with determination. She gave it a few moments until Seth was completely out of sight, before saying, "Kotoka Youma. That's my name. You can just call me Youma," She turned around, giving the girl a deep bow and a big warm smile. "Nice to meet you,"

Asris blinked and slid back another step when the short girl sent the boy away. For some reason this made her a tad more worried...She bit her bottom lip and swallowed nervously staring down at the girl.

"Kotoka Youma. That's my name. You can just call me Youma, Nice to meet you,"

The demon girl jumped a little with a slight when the girl suddenly bowed. After a moment or two of silence, the girl swallowed, connecting the dots in her mind and realizing that she was supposed to do the same.

"A-a-ano..." She swallowed and bowed, very tense obviously, before looking back to the girl "A...Asris Iccor... " She spoke softly keeping her eyes lowered and ready to jump back at any moment should this girl feel fit to lash out for any reason, her form still shaking a bit.

"Asris... sounds nice," She muttered softly, her eyes drifting over to a happy family of four getting into one of the restaurant close to them, apparently celebrating the twin's birthdays. "So I'm guessing you're here to look for some new clothes?" Of course, it's not like the large rip on her clothing where her wings had been through were noticeable. Not at all. "C'mon, let's go find some together! I have to find some new dress for tomorrow anyway," Convenient excuse, when the only selection in her wardrobe is her signature green and white dress. "Of course, you have to show me the way because I can never seem to remember where it's at..." Her voice trailed, scratching her head and chuckled nervously.

Asris shuddered a little and pulled her jackets closer around her... though she could have just as easily been shuddering from her trauma as from the cold. Truly death was a terrifying thing...

"So I'm guessing you're here to look for some new clothes? C'mon, let's go find some together! I have to find some new dress for tomorrow anyway,"

The demon stared down at the girl, giving a short nod to the first, but only tensing a bit when the girl suggested they go together. "I-I..." She slid back a step. Honestly she just wanted to get her things and get out of this horrid town. Her eyes darted around a bit watching some of the other people going about their business before focusing on the girl before her again. "I... I'm sorry! I-I'll go by myself!!" She shouted, turning to her left and making a break for it, running down the hallway trying not to bump into anyone.

It wasn't that Youma seemed particularly... well, anything. But Asris simply didn't want to be around anyone at this time. She just wanted to get what she needed and go home (Wherever the hell that was....) , and that would be a bit difficult if someone were following her around wouldn't it?

They say that the more you try to run away from your problem, the more it will come after you.

"H-huh? Hey, wait!" She yelled after her, though her foot wouldn't even budge an inch forward no thanks to the shock of being left behind just like that. She stood there, flabbergasted as she stared at Asris disappearing into the crowd, unable to comprehend the amount of distress the girl must be in at the moment. "What was that all about...?"

Let's try to prove the statement.

Even as she ran and tried her best to avoid from crashing into people, there was no denying the inevitable.

CRASH!

"Augh!" Well, admittedly it was (sorta) convenient for him to walk out of the bread store at the very moment she was passing the store. The result would be the girl crashing hard into a bread-laden Seth Ryouga, whom had decided to fill his time being banished by Youma with breads. For some reason. "Augh, what was... hey, aren't you the girl from before?" He said, getting up quickly and forgetting about all the breads littered all over the floor.

The girl had yelled for Asris to wait, but if she intended on listening to someone she wouldn't have run in the first place. Giving a short glance over her shoulder, the demon was relieved to see that the short girl wasn't following her. However in that short bit of time she wasn't paying attention...

CRASH!

"Uwah!!" She yelped bouncing off of whoever it was she had hit and falling directly on her backside. "I-I-I'm so-sorry!" She stammered out loudly.

"Augh, what was... hey, aren't you the girl from before?"

She froze, half expecting it to be the threatening boy from before, thankfully it wasn't, but it was the black-haired boy who happened to know the white-haired girl from before... the one with the history of making girls cry was it? "I-I... you... I'm so sorry!" She yelped again scrambling to gather the breads around her. "Please don't hurt me! I-I-I I'm not ready to die!!" She shouted, closing her eyes tightly and thrusting her handfuls of bread towards the boy as though she were making an offering to appease a vengeful spirit.

H-haa...?

Well, apparently Youma never managed to... do whatever it was she was thinking of doing. In fact he could say that she failed miserably. But who cares about Youma, THIS GIRL is being sort of a problem. He wasn't sure what's she being so freaked out about or why does she think that he's the kind of person to go around killing anyone who bumps into him. As if the thought wasn't disturbing enough by itself. He gave a sigh, not making any move to take her offer, but instead simply said, "You're not making any sense. Why don't you tell me just why do you think I would even want to do something like that?"

There. Let's get this over with nice and quick and avoid the 'Bad Communications Kills' trope.

"You're not making any sense. Why don't you tell me just why do you think I would even want to do something like that?"

Asris blinked and slowly began to raise her head glancing upwards at the boy, trembling a little bit. Now, he didn't specifically say he wouldn't attack or kill her, however he didn't seem all that threatening. Though neither had that other boy at first... Asris swallowed softly still holding the bread out towards him. "B-b-because s-s-someone I met earlier d-did." she swallowed hoping this was a satisfactory answer. "H-h-he tried to toss me off a building..." Another shiver coursed through her frame as she remembered the events of earlier, tears starting to well up in her eyes again.

...

Oioi... that sounded a little bit too farfetched to be true. Youma may have nearly killed him from time to time but... really, I mean, what?

Still... does it look like she's lying right now?

Le sigh.

*pats*

Screw heights. He's patting her head now, is that a problem? "Now now, don't cry," He said softly, keeping his hand on her head for a moment before withdrawing it. "No one's going to hurt you now, because I'm here to protect you," A reassuring smile on his face. It sounded like some cheesy line in a cheesy story, but really, what else can he say? "How about trying a bite out of that? Best bread from one of the best breadmaker in town, guarantee to give a lift in someone's day!" He said, nudging the bread still in her hands, making up stories and facts as he did so. But it's not exactly far from the truth. The bread here was definitely awesome.

Asris visibly tensed when she saw the boy raise his hand, but then she felt the boy's hand on her head she was almost confused.

"Now now, don't cry, No one's going to hurt you now, because I'm here to protect you,"

Eh-ehh? So that meant he wasn't going to kill her right? In fact he said he was going to protect her. That was pretty much the opposite of going to kill her wasn't it? The demon girl's eyebrows furrowed together as her traumatized mind tried to make sense of this before the boy nudged her bread-offerings back towards her saying she should try some. "Eh?" she immediately withdrew her hands, dropping said bread-offerings back onto the floor. "Oh no I'm sorry!" she yelped, picking up the pieces again. Her voice didn't sound quite as strained as before and she seemed to be calming down, at least a little bit. She raised the bread back towards him in one hand, wiping her face with the other arm. "I-I'm sorry, these are yours I-I couldn't possibly take them." She swallowed softly.
