"Well, at least you still manage to have some time together as you've grown. Which I have to admit, is pretty amazing, given that you're all separated across at least two continents." Selene nodded at Jonny's compliment on how despite being all grown-up and taking on roles in society the Frostfire siblings still find time to hang out as a family every once in a while. "Now that you mentioned it, aye. Dad's flying off to Singapore later tonight, while Johann's headed for New York City tomorrow morning; both pertaining to Frostfire Industries-related matters of course, but you're right... given the size of the company, it's inevitable we do a lot of travelling," the corporate heiress commented, sharing a bit of info on her family and how they tend to be all over the globe due to the nature of Frostfire Industries. "Well, it typically starts out with a great of hugs and talk of how great it is to see each other again, at least since I started going to Hyakuji." Selene nodded at Jonny's response. But given the kind of person the super speedster is, the corporate heiress figured as much his family must've been one of those closely-knit ones, where everyone is supportive of each other. "And from there... just really a lot of catching up, and maybe going somewhere for a good time. Suppose its been a while since I went to Thorpe Park." "You know, I always figured with your kind of powers it's even easier for you to spend a weekend back home than me, even with the company's resources at my fingertips," Selene giggled sightly at the thought of how during the weekends Jonny could just take a few hours to head back home to 'grab some stuff', spend part of the day back in England with friends and family, then zip back over to Japan on Sunday afternoon to spend some time out with the rest of the Musketeers, then get ready for classes on Monday. "Thorpe Park? Ah, nothing says spending quality time with friends and family quite like a trip with them to an amusement park... although I can't imagine you having quite the kind of fun with roller coasters as you used to before gaining your powers... but come to think of it, maybe one of these days we should get Yuki and Seth over for a trip to Doki-Doki Land?" the corporate heiress mused as she conjured up the mental image of a day at Doki-Doki land with the Musketeers, and at the roller coaster ride she, Seth and Yuki were practically having a "screaming contest" while Jonny appeared totally unexcited as the roller coaster took a series of plunges and loops. "But really, before then, we were rather general about things. And I don't see them particularly regularly nowadays. This reunion certainly wasn't planned in advance." The super speedster continued. Now talk about a blessing in disguise - while the whole planned family reunion originally went bad for Selene - what with getting kidnapped, London being placed in peril and a young life cut down before his prime. But in the end everything still worked out for the best. Jonny got to spend some time back home with his family, everyone (except Kuro) made it out of the ordeal in one piece. And then, for some extra icing on the cake - some quality time with Jonny. "And basically speaking, it was all true, with minor bits adjusted to brush over where my powers were involved." "Unplanned as it is, aren't you glad nonetheless to get to spend some time catching up with your family though?" Selene asked, before nodding at Jonny's answer to her question on his family background being mostly true except for the bits on his powers that were left out for the purposes of the movie. "Like my social life. You'd be amazed at how many want to be around you, but not bother to actually know you, when you're the only kid in range with powers." the super speedster continued. "Don't suppose you'd know what I mean?" "Right you are, Jonny, this is something I'm no stranger to..." Selene replied. "While most of my friends back in Britain know nothing of my abilities as a mage," the corporate heiress had emphasized on the word "most" before giving Jonny a wink to indicate that he was one of the exceptions. "It's no secret that I'm the daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the world, and you'll be surprised at how many people want to be around me simply for the bragging rights of being "friends" with a corporate princess, but few of them really made it an effort to get to know me," the corporate heiress rolled her eyes slightly at the thought of the people who used to hang out with her simply in hopes of getting a chance to walk the grounds of a billionaire's estate, to dine at a lavish function or ride in luxurious cars. "And my father's reputation as a philanthropist doesn't help matters any for me... 'but it's such a big car! Surely you have space to give a friend a lift too!' are things I hear way too often. And when I try to refuse these requests for help, I'd get bombarded with remarks like pomp, snob, rich bitch, and the like," the corporate heiress chuckled sardonically. "But still, I could only imagine what it's like to be able to travel faster than the speed of sound... care to share with me how the experience feels like?" Selene asked, noticing that Arwen's gallop was beginning to falter slightly. While these magnificent creatures have great stamina, horses aren't exactly automatons unlike what the media would portray them as. Out of consideration for her steed, the corporate heiress slowed Arwen down with a tug on the reins, bringing her down to a canter. |

Whilst theoretically, it would be a great deal easier for Jonny to arrive back in his home country, it wasn't particularly the case he had the time available to him to make such a journey, and certainly not if he intended to actually take anything back with him. Running from Japan all the way to Britain was one thing - but to do so for hours straight, whilst wearing a fairly sizeable backpack? Not exactly the most comfortable thing to do in the world, though he'd admit that if he absolutely had to, he would. Indeed, with a particular case, he wish he had, instead of leaving his friend in peril for so much longer. Funny really, how in attempting to avoid that subject matter, they kept returning to it, in some form or another. But, regardless, Selene's response to his question came, and the boy listened to her words intently. He smiled on being noted - even if by wink - that he was one of the few who actually knew about her abilities. Maybe he was indeed at least somewhat close to her then, to actually know such, though arguably it could also be merely a consequence of the kind of life they lead. After all, if one had the ability to call upon a mighty warrior to defend themselves from harm, then would they not summon it, regardless of wishing to hide their secret or not? Besides, it certainly wasn't as if the world wasn't filled with people who had incredible powers anyway. If Jonny had to guess, it was probably a matter of convenience that the Frostfires kept their abilities hidden from the public eye. The Mass Media being what it is, he wouldn't doubt someone would try to tie some controversy to those abilities, particularly given the sheer success of the company they owned. Her tale, whilst in many ways different from his own, due to (at least initial, and still partial) social class differences, Jonny could definitely resonate with a lot of it. Particularly when it came to be realised he could loan his abilities out to others. Whilst he had mainly used it to make mass deliveries go all that much faster - as even if only for five minutes, he could have a small group of people running just as fast as him - there had always been someone who wanted to 'try it out'. After initially agreeing a few times, he quickly realised how many people were willing to use it for means they weren't necessarily proper, or simply were so unaware of the power's potential harm that they couldn't be trusted with it. It had thus in time become something of a last resort, one that he had mainly started using after trying it on a scale he had never even dreamed of before. If not for Tarukaja increasing his body strength, he had his doubts he'd have been able to keep himself going when he sent the entire of the Hyakuzor machine past the sound barrier. But he'd certainly never found himself treated with the derogatories Selene had apparently gotten, at least to no significant degree. The thought of even referring to her in such a manner was apalling to him, as it was to any one who was meant to be his friend. Particularly when such remarks weren't true by any means, but then he supposed only someone who actually bothered to know a person would realise what they were truly like. Just goes to show how those people were really around Selene for what was tied to her, rather than the person herself. But Jonny knew Selene, even if not as much as he might like to know her. She knew him as well, and together both knew their power. If there was anyone he could trust with his abilities, outside of an emergency, it was her. And, besides, he supposed a little casual use couldn't be that bad every once in a while, could it? Slowing down his pony as well, Jonny looked towards Selene for a bit, before dismounting his horse. "I'd be more than willing to let someone like you try it out. Though if we're going to get the most out of it, it would have to be just the two of us, rather than us and our rides. Gives us about five or ten minutes then, assuming we go at full speed." He explained, before slowing to beginning to vibrate. "Just need to build up my aura first. Any part of of my body that I can move, I can do so at incredible speed, so I can get my aura up even if I'm not running." He spoke on some of the details regarding his powers as a red light began to rise around him. It was at first little more than a thin haze, something that could be easily mistaken as a trick of the light. But in moments, it flared up like a rising fire, until the boy was engulfed in a crimson shine. "I used to joke I knew the Kaioken as a kid." He laughed, though his entire pigmentation wasn't quite so changed by the aura, as it was for the fictional hero who wielded the aforementioned technique. "And then from there... I just will for it to be given to you." He extended a hand towards the corporate heiress, and from it, the aura flowed outwards onto her. She would soon feel the abilities that were once Jonny's fall upon her own form, and the boy smiled a little. "Just think about it, and you can do it - a bit like moving an extra limb. Just try to avoid hitting something - you won't get damaged from the feedback, but the thing you hit will feel the full force of it." He explained, before waiting to see how his friend would take to the abilities. |

As Jonny slowed Donny down to a halt before dismounting, the corporate heiress did the same as she got off from Arwen, giving the Welsh Cob a pat on the head and stroking her mane to reassure the pony to stay still and wait, wondering what was Jonny trying. "I'd be more than willing to let someone like you try it out. Though if we're going to get the most out of it, it would have to be just the two of us, rather than us and our rides. Gives us about five or ten minutes then, assuming we go at full speed." "Really? Now that sounds exciting," the corporate heiress commented as Jonny began a warm-up sequence by vibrating like a human tuning fork. "Just need to build up my aura first. Any part of of my body that I can move, I can do so at incredible speed, so I can get my aura up even if I'm not running." The super speedster explained as a red glow began to surround him, a faint one at first which might've been dismissed as a trick of the light, before growing in intensity until it enveloped the boy like a fire. The corporate heiress nodded at Jonny's explanation - that explained why he had to vibrate. "I used to joke I knew the Kaioken as a kid." Jonny said with a laugh, as Selene giggled at his comment; now come to think of it, it sure reminded her of Kaioken in Dragonball Z, except that the red glow seemed to surround Jonny rather than radiate from within his body. "And the next thing you know is next time in a fight, you're going to tell the bad guys you'll go Super Saiyan on them," the corporate heiress giggled as Jonny reached out to her with. "And then from there... I just will for it to be given to you." the super speedster said as the red aura flowed from him to surround the corporate heiress in a similar red glow, as Selene raised her hands to examine the aura that surrounded her, feeling a sudden upwelling of energy inside her as Jonny shared his "speed force" with the corporate heiress. "Just think about it, and you can do it - a bit like moving an extra limb. Just try to avoid hitting something - you won't get damaged from the feedback, but the thing you hit will feel the full force of it." Selene nodded at Jonny as he looked at her with a slight smile. "All right, let's see how well this works then," the corporate heiress commented as she warmed up a little, stretching her neck and back and doing several ankle rotations before glancing into the distance. "And... chocks away!" Jonny would hear Selene's voice a split second after the corporate heiress vanished from sight, as she found herself at the edge of Uncle George's estate, stopping just short of the forest's edge. And a few seconds later, Selene was back by his side, breathing heavily but smiling broadly. "Well, you have to admit it is quite a shock to the uninitiated, there's still the initial fright of crashing into something at a speed faster than a rifle bullet..." the corporate heiress commented as she steadied her breathing - more out of shock than exhaustion - before wiping the cold sweat off her brow with a handkerchief procured from a breast pocket of her rider's jacket. "But the adrenaline rush is... indescribable. I think I almost understand now why you just love using your powers so much, and for one, I'm glad it's you who possesses such a power... because God knows what could happen if a power like this is in the wrong hands," the corporate heiress chuckled. Unlike herself or Yuki, Jonny seemed to be far less modest about usage of his powers; but when you get an indescribable exhilaration from going faster than the speed of sound, it's hard to not want to spend every single waking moment like that. |

Jonny had laughed at the notion at going super saiyan, but he really doubted his powers would give him some ultra spikey hairdo. Though, he'd admit he had the screaming down, as long as giant robots were involved anyway. The spreading of his power was soon complete, and it was quite clear that the corporate heiress was intending to try them out as soon as possible. "All right, let's see how well this works then," Selene said, beginning to do some stretches. Jonny stepped back to give her some room, as well as provide a bit of space to get a better scope of the whole thing. This could prove interesting. "And... chocks away!" Selene was off in the blink of an eye, and Jonny watched her progress as she moved. He could tell she had gone quite far in the brief time, and was back equally fast. Something that caught him by surprise was that she seemed tired after doing so, which wasn't something that normally occured when he used his powers as such. Could it be something different, or had she honestly not quite expected to be able to go that fast? "How was it?" He asked, given that it was the obvious question, and he did truly want to find out her opinion. "Well, you have to admit it is quite a shock to the uninitiated, there's still the initial fright of crashing into something at a speed faster than a rifle bullet..." Selene spoke as she slowed and steadied her breathing, and Jonny gave a light nod. "I grew into it, but I can get what you mean. Particularly that latter part..." He trailed off, before Selene continued. "But the adrenaline rush is... indescribable. I think I almost understand now why you just love using your powers so much, and for one, I'm glad it's you who possesses such a power... because God knows what could happen if a power like this is in the wrong hands," Jonny took the words as a compliment, since thats what it seemed to be. "Ironically, my adrenaline is amongst one of the few things about me I can't speed up, given that its an internal mechanic I can't conciously control." He laughed, before touching on some of the things Selene had brought up. "My powers are also fairly practical for things, outside of combat. No need for transport, can make a living as the fastest delivery service around, or doing the chores." He said, ever reminded of how many days of hard labour grew shorter, as he grew faster. Particularly convenient for keeping Desmond Court in check, given its sheer size. "Though I do kinda have an idea of what could happen if I wasn't careful." He said, before finally deciding that the vague references weren't going to help. "You remember I mentioned having a dog in the video? Named Bolt?" He asked, though the idea would be clear enough, even if she didn't particularly recall that little detail. "Got him when he was a pup - really great. Used to run around the family estate all the time... And then, one day... I thought I'd try something I thought was 'funny'." The last word had an almost spiteful tone to it, and it was clear that Jonny himself thought it anything but. "Basic science says that force equals mass times acceleration, right? Well imagine that I'm like, maybe seven or eight years old, and I don't know that fact. I look at my dog, we're running through the field, and he's playing keep away with the ball. So I decide, why not go full speed?" His fist clenched, and he briefly bit his lower lip. "Bolt had internal bleeding and cracked ribs from the impact. I honestly thought he had died when he lay there, barely moving an inch for so many moments." He slammed his fist into his face, though thankfully not any faster than it would have naturally. "Such an idiot... he almost died because of me..." It... was rather strange, now that he thought about it. He had told the same story to Yuki, yet far more succinct and to the point. Was it the fact he had a picture then to help emphasize the point? Or was he simply more willing to divulge the specifics of the scenario, then he had been back then? |

"Ironically, my adrenaline is amongst one of the few things about me I can't speed up, given that its an internal mechanic I can't conciously control." Jonny said with a laugh. So Jonny's speed was limited only to movement, as an action he can consciously control, and not internal functions like adrenaline. Which makes sense, as Selene had wondered before; if Jonny could speed himself up to superhuman speeds, why couldn't he do the same to his natural healing factor and gain superhuman regeneration? "My powers are also fairly practical for things, outside of combat. No need for transport, can make a living as the fastest delivery service around, or doing the chores." the super speedster continued, as Selene nodded. As far as the English heiress was concerned, Jonny clearly hit jackpot in the superpowers lottery - not only are his powers handy in combat, they generally make life a whole lot more convenient and easy. "Well, it's easy to see why you'd be so popular amongst your peers," the corporate heiress commented, somehow imagining that Jonny probably had a fan club of sorts back in Britain, complete with "bodyguards" and a mob of squealing fangirls, as Selene conjured a mental image of Jonny in a business suit standing up in an open-top Aston Martin waving to a cheering crowd, while escorted by a police motorcade. "Though I do kinda have an idea of what could happen if I wasn't careful." Just as Selene has had her initial fears moving around at supersonic speeds, Jonny himself confirmed that all that power certainly didn't come without its own drawbacks that one would have to be wary of. "You remember I mentioned having a dog in the video? Named Bolt?" The corporate heiress nodded as Jonny made mention of Bolt. When they were shooting the video, the Briton had told Yuki he had a dog back at home named Bolt. "So you indeed have a dog named Bolt..." the corporate heiress mused. "Got him when he was a pup - really great. Used to run around the family estate all the time... And then, one day... I thought I'd try something I thought was 'funny'." Jonny almost sounded spiteful with the last word, and Selene couldn't help but wonder if the super speedster was recalling a bad memory; it was probably something that was still rather painful for him to recount, as the corporate heiress noticed Jonny clenching his fist and biting his lower lip, as though he were fighting back a torrent of emotions, like a dam that was barely holding back against springtime torrent from all the melted snow from the highlands. "Basic science says that force equals mass times acceleration, right? Well imagine that I'm like, maybe seven or eight years old, and I don't know that fact. I look at my dog, we're running through the field, and he's playing keep away with the ball. So I decide, why not go full speed?" "Jonny... If it's a painful memory to recall, then you don't have to recount the experience for my sake..." the corporate heiress voiced her concern as she took hold of Jonny's hand in a warm and reassuring grip. "Bolt had internal bleeding and cracked ribs from the impact. I honestly thought he had died when he lay there, barely moving an inch for so many moments." But the super speedster continued nonetheless, as Selene let go of his hand, and that was where Jonny slammed said fist against his forehead as a gesture of self-reproach, the evidence of guilt lingering in his voice. "Such an idiot... he almost died because of me..." So this part of the story was true also, but somehow it sounded a lot more tear-jerking to hear it now than back during the filming session. "You didn't know better back then, you're not completely to blame," the corporate heiress replied, trying to sound as reassuring as she could as she rested a hand on Jonny's shoulder and shook him gently. "I may not be able to communicate with dogs... I'm sure Bolt knows it wasn't entirely your fault, and I don't think he's ever held anything against you." Animals, especially dogs have incredible empathy after all, something that - to the corporate heiress anyway - seems to defy superhuman powers or even magic; they could sense from a mile away what are the people they should hang around with and the ones to be avoided. And if Jonny were truly the sort that was cruel to animals, Selene doubted that Seki would've taken to him on their first encounter. |

Much of Jonny's popularity had derived from the rarity of his status within the community. Back home, in the area where he had lived, there were no kamen riders, no giant robots, no mages, no sailor warriors, no demons, no spirits, and simply no superpowers in general. It was an average city of average people, and Jonny came running in as an extraordinary being. They'd have probably taken interest if he were only able to stick to walls, let alone being one of the fastest people in the history of the world. He certainly didn't reach a celebrity status, but people knew of him nonetheless. Now if only some of them had been willing to turn 'know of' into 'know about', or any similar conversion of an idea, into a human being. Still, he was glad Selene had understood that it was hard to recall the memories of what happened to Bolt. Even if he went through with it anyway, that she would have been perfectly fine with him not telling her, was reassuring. The brief gesture of her taking his hand had been proof of that. And then the second gesture of her hand upon his shoulder, was probably what stopped any tears from rolling down his face. Just to be sure though, he unclenched his fist, and instead let his face rest into his palm. "I may not be able to communicate with dogs... I'm sure Bolt knows it wasn't entirely your fault, and I don't think he's ever held anything against you." Jonny cracked a smile as he drew his hand away from his face, and then placed it on Selene's, which was on his shoulder. "Thanks... guess I'm the only one who doesn't fully realise that fact." He said, slowing taking a light hold of Selene's hand, for a moment truly realising how soft and tender they were. He supposed it made them just like their owner then, and he guided the hand off his shoulder. "Yuki said something along the same lines. And that if Bolt has forgiven me, than I should forgive myself for it." He recalled the moment back in his dorm room, when he had shown Yuki the photo. If he had it with him, then he didn't doubt Selene would also use Bolt's expression in the picture - as cheery a smile as a dog could have - to prove her words true. He turned to look directly at Selene, allowing their green eyes to meet, and his smile was still there. Not a wide grin; not the lead in to a hearty laugh; not some goofy stretch of the jaw for hilarity. A small smile, yet so genuine in the way it express his appreciation of the people around him. It was perhaps strange how both she and Yuki had the same eye colour as himself, but it was one of those coincidences that, like the rest of them, he appreciated. "So I'm really glad... that I know such kindhearted people. Those who can catch something, when I don't. Thanks." He said, still holding Selene's hand, and giving her the chance to say something if she so wished. It would only be after a few moments he would realise his grip on her palm was still there, and with initial shock, as well as a light blush, he would let go. "So... uh... do you still wanna try out my powers? Suppose you haven't tried running on water yet, have you?" He asked, wondering if she'd be familiar with how - if a creature moved fast enough relative to its own mass and weight - it was possible to move across the surface of the fluid by not breaking its surface tensiom? |

"Thanks... guess I'm the only one who doesn't fully realise that fact." Jonny replied as he took hold of Selene's hand. The super speedster's grip felt firm and steady, yet surprisingly gentle as he guided the corporate heiress' hand off his shoulder. "Yuki said something along the same lines. And that if Bolt has forgiven me, than I should forgive myself for it." The super speedster relaxed his clenched fist, opening it into a palm resting on his head. "She did?" the corporated heiress inquired with a smile, followed by a nod of her head. "But at any rate Yuki-chan's right," Selene continued as Jonny looked at her straight in the eye as a smile lit up on his face, a most welcome sight indeed. The corporate heiress couldn't help but wonder, as she noticed - which was probably something that Jonny would've realized as well, that herself, Yuki and Jonny possessed the same eye color. Perhaps, there were more factors to their friendship beyond sharing many views in common? And as if Jonny had read her mind, he spoke. "So I'm really glad... that I know such kindhearted people. Those who can catch something, when I don't. Thanks." Selene's eyes widened in surprise at his remark, before the corporate heiress shied her gaze from Jonny as her cheeks grew warm, for just a brief moment in a vain attempt to hide her blushing, clearly feeling flattered by her fellow Briton's remark as she fell silent. ![]() "A-ha... think nothing of it; that's what friends are for anyway, aye?" the corporate heiress continued with a small laugh as she turned her gaze back to Jonny. Who at this point realized that he still had the corporate heiress' hand in his own. "Jonny?" the corporate heiress called out, just as Jonny let go of the corporate heiress' hand with a start, and then it was his turn to start turning red in the cheeks, eliciting a giggle from Selene as the corporate heiress laughed with her hand covering her mouth in a pose befitting a proper lady. "So... uh... do you still wanna try out my powers? Suppose you haven't tried running on water yet, have you?" Jonny asked, as Selene first tilted her head slightly trying to figure out what he meant, before perking up with a broad smile. Of course! It was all simple physics - if a body could move fast enough to its own mass and weight, it was actually possible to cross 'soft' surfaces without disturbing it, such as a body of water. "Well, that sounds fun," the corporate heiress replied, resting her hand thoughtfully on her chin. "We can put that to the test right over there," Selene commented as she pointed to a pond in the distance, sitting on the edge of Uncle George's estate. "So... how about I say we race there? But of course, while I still have a portion of your powers," the corporate heiress said as she unbuttoned the cuffs on the sleeves of her jacket and stretched her limbs a little. Sure, they may have the same powers for as long as Jonny is willing - and able - to share his powers with her, but Selene knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that her friend has had far more experience moving a supersonic speeds - and while she considered herself to be quite athletically capable, she wasn't sure how her own ability would stack up to Jonny's. But that was the fun part of a challenge, and if one doesn't challenge oneself they'd never realize their own limits. "Well?" Selene asked, waiting for Jonny's response. |

"Well, that sounds fun," Selene's approval came, and Jonny nodded briefly in response, the boy eager to get underway. However, then a question came to his mind, since the idea required a specific something in order for it to work. "We'll need a fairly sizeable body of water for us to be able to do the whole running across it deal." Jonny stated, and he began to look around. Much to his surprise, it wasn't his eyes that caught it, but Selene's - 'it' being a pond in the distance, still within George's estate. "We can put that to the test right over there," Jonny nodded once more, as whilst it was far off, the fact it still seemed fairly big despite that distance indicated they'd be able to properly put the power to use. "So... how about I say we race there? But of course, while I still have a portion of your powers," Selene said as she began to unbutton the cuffs on her sleeves. Jonny took to undoing a few buttons of his top, and opening up the jacket - better freedom of movement for him that way, when considering how the clothes fit him. "Thats fair enough. Otherwise, you'd have to summon up the valkyrie to stand a chance." He laughed a little, though he'd admit how such a race would go. He had never deliberately set himself against someone else sharing his powers. And moreover, whilst Selene had been tired from the initial shock, this would be her second go around - not to mention Jonny could already feel himself grow a little tired, if his short, but consistent, breaths were any indication. And of course, everything was relative. "Well?" Selene asked as Jonny got himself into position, one leg forward and one leg back, the boy crouching a little lower to the ground. It got him into the right mindset, given that this was a race and all. "Ready when you are." He said, and with that, he raised three fingers. "A bit redundant to yell 'go' when we'll both be faster than sound, right?" He shrugged with a smile, before the countdown began. The fingers began to curl into Jonny's palm, a small breeze adding to the atmosphere. 3... 2... 1... The breeze was blown away by a greater wind - the sheer turbulence generated in the course of the race. Though, as they moved at such speeds, the race would be short to the rest of the world, to them, they would be able to enjoy it in its fully glory. Over short hills did Jonny climb, and down them did he run, his aura creating a streak of red light behind him, which would rapidly fade as its source moved on in his path. And eventually, he would stop by the water's edge, the turbulence from behind stirring the cool liquid before him. He looked around, to find Selene, and determine who precisely had won the race. He panted slightly as he did so, but he seemed quite happy. |

"We'll need a fairly sizeable body of water for us to be able to do the whole running across it deal." Jonny's concern was addressed by Selene's knowledge of the place, the corporate heiress waiting for Jonny to get ready as he loosened up his outfit a little for freedom of movement - it certainly looked slightly restrictive due to the nature of the material and the fact that it fits the super speedster's body almost like a glove. "Thats fair enough. Otherwise, you'd have to summon up the valkyrie to stand a chance." Jonny said with a laugh as Selene giggled in response at the thought of summoning her Valkyrie for the sake of racing Jonny. "Ready when you are." Jonny said after taking on a half-crouching stance with one leg forward and another leg behind, the similar stance used by sprinters. Nodding, the corporate heiress assumed a similar stance as Jonny raised three fingers. "A bit redundant to yell 'go' when we'll both be faster than sound, right?" the corporate heiress nodded as Jonny explained the reason for having a visual countdown instead of a verbal one. "And so it begins..." the corporate heiress commented, her voice showing slight tension as she watched the super speedster's fingers intently as his fingers began to curl... 3... 2... 1... And it was on. A sonic boom resounded as the two of them took off at faster than the speed of sound, blazing across the length of Uncle George's estate, crossing the gentle hills like a pair of red comets as the aura left a glowing red trail in the wake of their movements. It barely took a few seconds, but the winner was already determined in a span of time that it'd barely take for an eye to blink. "Lost by the blink of an eye!" Selene announced as Jonny looked around for the her, the corporate heiress' voice calling from behind her fellow Briton as he stopped at the water's edge. "Now that was fun," Selene remarked with a smile as she brushed aside her bangs, panting slightly but appearing happy at being able to keep up with Jonny, before looking at the water's edge then back at her fellow Briton. "I don't suppose it's here where you'd say ladies first?" the corporate heiress asked, chuckling. |

"Lost by the blink of an eye!" Selene's voice called out, and Jonny turned around to see Selene standing there. At first, he wasn't sure if her words were in reference to herself, or in fact, to him. But after a few moments of looking upon the girl standing there, her hair blowing in the gentle breeze, he came to realise that such a fact was, quite frankly, irrelevant. "Now that was fun," She said, and Jonny couldn't help but nod in agreement. That was the first time he had put such an effort into a race, that he could rememeber, without there being something important on the line. There were no lives in danger, no reprecussions should he lose, and it was all in the name of good fun. If only he could have more like it. He looked across at the water, just as Selene did, assessing it. It was beautiful - that he would not deny - with various forms of life across and beneath it. Though, for the creatures that swam beneath its surface, it was hard to tell that they were there, save for shadows that would occasionally pass by. If the water was crystal clear, then that likely meant it was acidic - all the small bits of dirt that might've blocked one's sight being dissolved away. So by being crystal clear, it remove the chance for life to exist, unable to tolerate it all. He supposed, as his mind wondered on such things, that such might be an analogy for many people's lives. He certainly knew he wasn't being 'crystal clear' with his friends. But, he tried to keep the waters clean to some degree... "I don't suppose it's here where you'd say ladies first?" Selene asked, and Jonny's head turned towards her, the boy blinking. "Huh?" He asked, as if genuinely surprised that he might say such a thing, before realising that in reality, he probably had a few times. "Ah, sorry, just a little distracted I guess." Jonny mused, before directing his arm out over the water. "Well then, as you guessed, ladies first." He smiled, waiting for Selene to make her attempt to cross the waters. "Just make sure not to slow down - running across water is one thing, but starting within it is another. In which case, I hope you can swim." He laughed slightly, though he doubted Selene really needed such advice. Aside from possibly provoking thoughts of anxiety, it seemed weird that someone as well composed and controlled as Selene might make such a rudimentary mistake. |

"Huh?" Jonny was probably on a train of thought somewhere as the super speedster appeared caught off-guard when as Selene called out to him. "Ah, sorry, just a little distracted I guess," he mused before directing his arm out over the water in a gesture for the corporate heiress to attempt her reenactment of the Biblical miracle of walking on water - or rather, running across water. "Well then, as you guessed, ladies first." Jonny said with a smile as the Selene made her way to the water's edge, pausing to look at the pond - at the reflection of her own face peering down one the water's surface and of the sky above. Although the water was somewhat murky, the corporate heiress noted that there were signs of life in the waters, as shadows moved back and forth beneath the water's surface - fishes no doubt, and several pretty large ones at that - Selene presumed that Uncle George probably raised those fishes and might've fished there every now and then. "Just make sure not to slow down - running across water is one thing, but starting within it is another. In which case, I hope you can swim." Selene heard Jonny's disclaimer, looking back at her fellow Briton as he laughed slightly. "Of course I can swim," Selene replied with a giggle. "I head to the pool every weekend on Saturday mornings if my schedule allows... if you like a weekend swim or hangout by the pool, why not? I suppose you could always head there to look for me - or bring Seth and Yuki along if you wish... not that I want to go swimming over here, though," the corporate heiress nodded slightly before turning around, setting her sights on the other end of the pond. "All right, and here goes nothing..." Selene commented as she took a deep breath; and in the blink of an eye, the corporate heiress was gone, the evidence that she'd crossed the water was a sonic boom followed by a splash trail cutting across the surface of the pond, briefly parting its surface before the waters calmed down again. Although a sign that things didn't quite go as the corporate heiress had planned was that the splash trail only cut halfway across the pond's surface, and she was nowhere to be seen on the other end of the pond. Bubbles broke the surface of the pond, before the corporate heiress surfaced with a splash and a gasp! "Cor blimey!" Selene exclaimed as she swam to the edges of the pond where the waters are shallow, before wading to the surface, soaking wet. "It was a great day... right up to this point..." the corporate heiress muttered, making gentle splashing noises from her water-filled boots as she walked towards Jonny, dripping all the way with her wet hair now covering her face - now decidedly appearing less pretty and more like ghost girl out from a Japanese horror movie. |

Jonny blinked twice, having not known that Selene would actually go the swimming pool so regularly. He supposed he had never considered it, partly due to having a fairly accessible form of excercise, and party because he never had anyone to go with. Sure, one doesn't necessarily need anyone to tag along for swimming, but it always felt so redundant to him not to. "I'll see if I have some time available. Didn't really get a lot of swimming done back at the beach, if I recall." He laughed slightly, before recalling something else about the beach. If Selene was at a swimming pool, then that would mean she'd... be in... A sonic boom disrupted his thoughts, and looked out across the water at the ever so brief burst of light that was his friend moving well beyond the sound barrier. Once things had settled down, he continued looking, only to find to his horror two things: 1) Selene wasn't on the other side of the pond. 2) The trail from where she ran across the water didn't even end up anywhere near the water's edge, and instead, ran much closer to the middle. "SELENE?!" He screamed out, immediately concerned for his friend's safety. About to throw off his jacket, he was but a moment's notice from leaping into the water... "Cor blimey!" Jonny it seemed, in his moment of panic, had forgotten that Selene had mentioned just moments before that she could swim. He quickly moved to meet her as she emerged from the water, soaking wet in dirty water. "Oh god... Selene... I'm so sorry." He said, not entirely sure what had happened - but she had been using his powers, so he felt more than responsible. "I don't know what happened... the powers should have carried you all the way across." Knowing that his jacket was still dry, he removed it and offered it to her - so at least she had something on that wasn't completely soaked. On realising what that might entail however, he turned, and began to rub the back of his neck. "We should probably go get you changed, not to mention washed up. Don't want you catching Weil's disease or pneumonia." Whilst the former illness wasn't too likely so long as George kept the rats from using the pond as a lavatory, the latter was always quite possible. "Noone should see you if you use my speed to get there." |

"Oh god... Selene... I'm so sorry." Jonny apologized as he made his way over to the corporate heiress, who was plucking strands of water weed off her hair and twisting a corner of her jacket to wring out the water. "I don't know what happened... the powers should have carried you all the way across," Jonny said as he removed his jacket and offered it to Selene, a gesture that the corporate heiress was more than grateful for - considering how her dip in the pond had gotten her soaked right through to her underwear. "My bad, really," The corporate heiress replied as she wrapped Jonny's jacket around her shoulders. "I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing," she continued, giving a reason for Jonny to not feel too bad about it all. "We should probably go get you changed, not to mention washed up. Don't want you catching Weil's disease or pneumonia." the super speedster commented, rubbing the back of his neck. "Falling ill would be bad," Selene replied, nodding her head. "And I could sure head back to take a nice shower and put on clean and dry clothing," the corporate heiress put on a slight frown as she unbuttoned her soaked jacket, taking note - with disgust - at how uncomfortable to have her wet clothes clinging to her body like that. "Noone should see you if you use my speed to get there." "Right you are, Jonny," Selene replied. "Best not to let my parents or brothers catch me in this state. Because I can safely assume it'd be pretty awkward to explain to them what just happened," the corporate heiress said as she looked in the direction of where the estate's main building is located. |

Jonny resisted every temptation to turn around and look, reminding himself each time that this was one of his best friends. Why such temptations existed in his mind to begin with, he could not tell, but he didn't focus too greatly in trying to figure out why. "Right you are, Jonny," Selene spoke up from behind him, addressing his earlier comment that the sheer speed his abilities granted unto the both of them should prove more than capable of getting Selene back to the changing rooms, without alerting anyone - particularly her brothers - to her current state. Whilst Jonny had no siblings, and thus could not wholly comment on brother-sister interactions, he somehow doubted the Frostfire Siblings - or their parents, for that matter - would so easily let such a subject matter fade once it came into the foreground. "Best not to let my parents or brothers catch me in this state. Because I can safely assume it'd be pretty awkward to explain to them what just happened," Jonny ever so briefly considered the possibility that Selene had sporadically developed mind reading powers, as her words reflected his own thoughts. Though the matter of how explaining it would be awkward wasn't immediately obvious, he soon realised that, in context, he would explaining how he got the corporate heiress all wet. Yeeeeeaaaahhhh, best avoid that if possible, given that the girl's father was not only financially powerful enough to utterly destroy Jonny's future, but may have held the magical might to deliver a swift asskicking for what occured. If he had a valkyrie of his own - if not greater - then that could mean serious trouble, even for Jonny. He had gotten fairly lucky in his 'fight' against Selene's, to say the least. "W-we'd best go. Whilst the others are still out riding, and I'm still holding up." He said, still panting a little as he waited, and knowing it would only become more so as he maintained sharing his abilities with Selene. Five or ten minutes could seem like a lot, but with some of that time spent chatting away, it was growing considerably less. "C'mon!" With that, he raced forward, shooting across the grassy field of the estate to reach the main buildings. He slowed down as he approached, looking around as he reached for a nearby door. "You know this place better than I do - so you'd know where showers are, if they have them, right?" He'd ask her, hoping she would actually know enough about the place. For all he knew, she had literally only used its horse riding services. |

"W-we'd best go. Whilst the others are still out riding, and I'm still holding up." Selene nodded as Jonny revealed that he was still holding up with the power-sharing thingy. But she'd need to capitalize on it while it lasts - the last thing the corporate heiress wanted was for her siblings - or God forbid, her parents - catch her in the middle of the fields, soaking wet and without a horse. It would be difficult to explain her way out of that one, and even more so to convince them that Jonny was by no means responsible for her current state. "C'mon!" the corporate heiress took off at supersonic speed with Jonny, blazing across the field and gentle hills and back to the main building of Uncle George's estate. "You know this place better than I do - so you'd know where showers are, if they have them, right?" Jonny asked as he reached for a nearby door, and Selene would proceed to push the door right open, leading them down a hallway that if Jonny's memory serves him was the same hallway he headed down to get to the men's locker/changing room. "Aye, bathrooms are just a little further down past the locker rooms," Selene replied, working her feet out of her riding boots even before entering the bathroom, the waterlogged boots making a faint plopping noise as the corporate heiress dropped them. "I say, Jonny... could you uh... do me a favour?" Selene asked, poking her head from the ajar bathroom door. "I didn't have a change of clean clothing with me, so if you could, you know, get me a change of clothes I'd much appreciate that," the corporate heiress continued. "Now go!" Selene tried to keep her voice down, as the bathroom door closed behind her, the corporate heiress making her way to the nearest shower stall to get herself a much-needed washing down... Meanwhile... On the back of his heavy work horse, Uncle George rode across the fields of his estate at a canter, on a routine inspection of his estate such as ensuring the fences remained in good condition. The elderly estate owner's eyes widened as he noticed two ponies loom into view, before gasping in shock at the sight of Donny and Arwen... without their riders. "What the... Bloody Hell!" the old man spluttered in disbelief, fearing that Jonny and Selene had gone missing as he retrieved a phone from his shirt pocket, and dialing the number of Stravas Frostfire. "Sir... Sir Stravas? Bad news, milord! Your daughter, she's gone missing together with that other chap that was riding with her!" Needless to say, things weren't looking peachy right now... |
